Hi everyone, I got distracted with other things for a while, but back at the computer now so thought I'd post a proper update (though it's turned out quite long, sorry).
Munx great to hear from you, and such wonderful news too!
Little I hope AF arrives for you soon so you can get some rat smacking done.
Beedle I hope you get some nephew cuddles soon. I'll be getting loads of hand me downs from my sister when our baby is born. Though, if we have a girl it might have to wear lots of blue..
Scarlett sorry about the BFN, the pee stick probably just didn't like the time of the morning and did that to spite you! You'll find an agreeable stick soon.
Cupcakes woo for the peak!! Have yourself some good SWI tonight, then a well deserved rest. Just sweep your DH into bed when he gets in, and he won't notice the lack of tidying :)
Popcorn I hope you're feeling a bit less tired now, take it easy!
Maybe I've always found it very hard to work from home, these days it's more the fault of the cats than anything else. They demand attention and to be let in/out every 5 mins. I've never heard of Rachel's yoghurt, but I will have to look out for some now!
Bean I hope you've flown through those last couple of chapters! My "ear worm" today, and for the last couple of days, has been "Que Sera, Sera" - quite apt I thought considering everything, though no idea where I caught it from.
Musical so exciting! We had hell buying our house, though it was all problems with our mortgage company and bank. Nothing quite came together the way it should have. It was just before the economic crisis hit big time, and they were trying their hardest to get out of their promises I think. Anyway, that won't happen to you!
Far no symtoms is still good I'd say. I have everything crossed for you.
Imps I love the diarised SWI, sounds like you've got yourself an excellent plan for catching that egg. DH and I are trying a few new techniques here - regular 'pipe cleaning' for him all through the cycle, then abstaining for about 5 days pre ov, then a shag fest. It's tricky timing it without a CBFM, but luckily my cycle is quite regular, so I think we can make it work.
So - the scan today. I did mention the short non-AF, but she didn't really seem very interested. I guess she's more of a general X-ray person than a fertility one (it was in the main hospital), she also didn't do a pg test, just asked me to sign on the line that I wasn't pg. The procedure was ok, though really quite uncomfortable it's no worse than a period pain. I was amazed at how tiny the uterus and tubes are, and how delicate they look. So the left one was easily seen to be open and clear, the right one however she wasn't sure of. So after the scan she went over the pictures, then sent me for a general abdominal x-ray next door to get a firm diagnosis. Those results showed the right tube is indeed blocked. The antibiotics are a precaution, as with a blocked tube the dye can sort of sit and stagnate (sounds wonderful!).
I personally think the damage is likely from the surgery I had previously, but there's no way to know. No options were discussed about the blocked tube, overall she was quite upbeat about it, and said not to worry as it only takes 1 tube to get pg. However it effectivly 'halves' the time we've been trying though. Our 20 cycles is maybe halved to 10 possibles, and reduced again due to DH's swimmers.
I'll talk to the consultant if/when we get an appointment through to go over the results. The last discussion we had he said if the HSG was clear, we try longer, if it's not, then IVF. I'm not sure where half-clear gets me. I would hope there's a way to unblock tubes, but as yet I know very little about next steps.
Now I just need to work out the good SWI days, I'm only on CD6, with ov usually around CD16. I hope this month will be a left ovulation, but if not, next month should be right? They do pretty much alternate?
