Just wrote a blardy long message before getting the 'thread full' message so here we go.................

Hello all - super busy but keeping an eye out for BFPs.

Far - that gender selection post has gone a bit mad. I feel a bit mean for criticising but these ladies are daft if they think they can really influence the roll of the dice either way. Ho hum. Should have been kinder though.

Beedle don't get cold on your own tonight.

xxx

SweetieDoesIt · 14/02/2012 20:17

Hi all
bean am Shock at the gender selection thread. I remember the previous one which went in a similar direction.

Far BUPA have said they will treat an underlying condition for fertility but not investigate fertility issues themselves. So I need an issue to be referred for that is the same, I have a very regular cycle. I will have a word with GP when I go next week. Do you think they will give me DH SA results too, he rang up for the results and was just told "no further action required" whatever that means. Confused I would like to know the breakdown to be honest.

OOOOOHHHHHHhhhhh Stasi am brooking for you soooooooo hard. I so hope it is a BFP in the morning, fx for you my dear.

BeedleTheBard · 15/02/2012 06:35

Morning all

bean I didn't get too cold last night, though it was snowing Grin. I did have brief moment of sadness when i realised how crap it was to be eating alone in a restaurant on valentine's day, but luckily there wasn't any obvious loved-up couples having a candlelit dinner. And I'll be home for cuddles tonight with DP Grin

stasi I agree that your chart looks pretty conclusive that it was AF, but stranger things have happened so I'm brooking for your BFP Grin

far I also kid myself every month, even if we've only had sex once 5 days before ov. Not sure why I think this, but i do enjoy the feeling of "i might be pregnant". Though of course your excellent nonchalalant sex this month has surely got you upduffed.

(that was my breakfast and I'm feeling quite full now Blush )

Imps7 · 15/02/2012 07:25

Morning all! Stasi have you PIAR? What are your temperatures doing?

Did you treat yourself to champagne, choc dipped strawberries and heart shaped food last night Beedle?! Seems like you've been in a hotel for ages - is this part of the same trip or have you been on several trips?

Far some 2ww I feel more positive than others - last cycle, I felt really down at ovulation - I just knew it hadn't worked and I was right. Some other months I feel like we really have a chance - one day we actually will!

Cakes hope you're feeling okay today - I echo what the wise Biscuits says (that sounds grammatically incorrect - it should be "what the wise Biscuits say...Grin). Think positive and continue to brook no argument - we're all there brooking with you.

Grr, I've hit "preview message" and now I can't see what other people have written. Oh well, I'll just talk about me then Wink. Had a lovely evening with OH last night - got home from work and cooked a 3 course dinner which was waiting for him when he got home - what a lucky boy he is! Had duck breast with pomegranate to start, fish pie (which was my best one yet (even if I do say so myself)) with purple sprouting broccoli for main, and cardomom rice pudding for dessert - it was a little dry but this has been noted on the recipe for the next time I make it. Had a little too much to drink and have a headache this morning but what the hell, it was a special occasion.

Must get up - it's getting so light in the morning these days! Roll on spring!

SweetieDoesIt · 15/02/2012 07:49

Beedle sorry to hear about your lonely Valentines night, do they "celebrate" it over there too. I always thought it was a bit of a British thing way for card shops to make money after Christmas hope you have plenty of cuddles and hugs with DH to make up for it.

Imps I am VERY impressed by the culinary masterpiece you created last night. Goodness what a feast, defo worth a bit of a foggy head I would say.

Stasi good luck today.

We didn't exactly have the most romantic of evenings, he watched Extreme Fishing followed by me watching Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, bit of ying and yang going on in the Sweetie household!!!

DH also did ask if it was "trying time" now AF has gone, so I think he is getting it. Bless him, I didn't let on we are on CD5 Grin

Biscuitsandtea · 15/02/2012 07:53

Imps - how funny - we're having fish pie with purple sprouting broccoli for tea tonight! What a small world! Bet yours was better than mine though Grin

Imps7 · 15/02/2012 08:17

What a coincidence Biscuits! It's not really a very romantic Valentinesey type dish but it's OH's favourite. What fish do you use in yours? And do you add chopped hard boiled egg?? I've seen loads of recipes which do, but I haven't ever tried it - interested to see what it tastes like though as it seems like an unusual thing to add to a fish pie.

Biscuitsandtea · 15/02/2012 08:24

I've never tried this recipe before but I've got salmon, cod and smoked haddock to go in. Then was going to add some leeks, spinach and peas. I'm making a big load of it so I can freeze hopefully 2 lots of fish mix ready for easy meals after the baby arrives.

I wasn't going to put boiled egg in, but I can see how that might work. I think i made an Annabel Karmel fish pie once that had it in? Also boiled eggs do go delightfully in a kedgeree type dish I made. It was a children's recipe for the kedgeree so didn't have the usual smoked fish in it - was just salmon. And doesn't kedgeree normally have a sort of 'curry' element? This didn't have that either. But still delicious Smile

NoMaybeAboutIt · 15/02/2012 08:27

Morning all!

Hope everyone had a nice valentines day! DH was working, so I spent the night alone on the sofa Sad

Imps sounds like a lovely dinner.

Beedle sorry you were alone too, hope you have a nice night tonight instead to make up for it.

Grin at you DH Sweetie

Hello everyone else, sorry not to name check.

Stasi are you PIAR as we speak?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 15/02/2012 08:28

Oooh, and I put egg in my pie Imps and Biscuits I boil a few and chop them into 1/4 then put them on top of the fish

ScarlettInSpace · 15/02/2012 08:37

Morning all, just nipped in to say good luck to stasi today, and am hoping some of far's PMA rubs off on me, I am resolutely trying not to get my hopes up and failing lol I did a wilko cheapy last night which was BFN totally as expected as it says not to test til after AF is due.

Sounds like some lovely food was consumed by all last night nom nom.

Today should be CD1 but so far so good, appears to be CD27 [I checked and my last 2 cycles were 25 days, but in the last 12 months I have had one 29 dayer] and still v big on the non-symptom front. Oh I've been awake all night with indigestion too but OH says that's silly because you can't have indigestion all night [didn't dare tell him I still have it this morning Grin ] so am pooped. Am going to sit on my hands and try really hard to refrain from POAS again until saturday as that will be cd30 and absolutely way over...

I've lost one of those 2lbs I put on too Confused, in truth I'm feeling a little removed from my body at the moment Grin it's like I'm totally out of tune with it because it's not behaving as expected...

beangrower · 15/02/2012 08:41

It's Delia who adds the boiled egg. Now think what you like about Delia - but I saw her shouting at that Norwich home game.... scary.

Some nice-sounding Val eves even if it involved extreme fishing. Grin We had nachos and DP bought some v nice choccies (a tradition at Bean Towers).

AF has pretty much totally buggered off after only two days flow. TMI but also strange. Never mind. The CBFM will be asking for a wet stick soon. I wonder if I will learn anything different about my cycle... and if we're dealing with slow spermies do I SWI on the first peak or the morning of the second? (Which is prob impossible given that DP is up before the lark.) I'm assuming that we should avoid DTD for most of the highs...

Sweetie - no further action sounds like he's passed the test with flying colours. Grin

farfallarocks · 15/02/2012 09:04

Morning all!

sweetie you are well within your rights to ask for a print out of the sperm results and then you can obsessively google the results :) No seriously, its good to see where he stacks up in the ranges. I also have regular periods, I just lied, naughty me.

imps that sounds absolutely delicious, what a lucky boy he is indeed!

bean I don't know about timings, in my case I tend to ovulate the day of the first peak and so waiting until the 2nd would be too late. I therefore really try and take advantage of the highs (when DH plays ball!) That is why I love the CBFM, it gives me warning!

I have also bought taking charge of your fertility and am really enjoying it, I am even considering charting to keep an eye on my luteal phase.

scarlett that is very restrained of you, I would be in Boots before you could say First Response Grin

We had a lovely evening last night, DH ran me a bath and handed me a glass of champagne whilst he cooked steak and chips. Perfect evening really.

stasi??

ScarlettInSpace · 15/02/2012 09:07

I have a Predictor PT in the bathroom drawer, does anyone know if they are any good? or do I really need a CB if I am going to give in to the urge

ScarlettInSpace · 15/02/2012 09:07

far you have eaten a lot of steak this week, you will be mooing soon Grin

farfallarocks · 15/02/2012 09:11

I know 2nd night in a row, I actually feel a bit bleurgh today, fish and veg tonight!!

I don;t know about predictor, CB wonlt be sensitive enough at this stage, what you really need is a first response or superdrug early test thingy

OP posts:
PopcornMouse · 15/02/2012 09:11

What a bunfight over in that gender thread Shock :o

Imps that sounds amaaaaazing! You are a super chef, my limit is lasagne :o
My mum makes a killer fish pie, and does add egg ? it's not a strong flavour but it really adds to the texture imho.

Sweetie that sounds like a very successful evening, too! I have taped Gypsy Wedding :o

Aww maybe will you do something special at the weekend instead? I have FIL over for the week so it wasn't very romantical here, either :)

Oooo scarlett that is so exciting!! I have chronic indigestion at night atm! And wasn't it loopy who didn't get a + til something like a week after AF was due?

I'd think it would depend on how you usually ovulate in relation to OPKs Bean ? I'd dtd on the night of peak 1 tbh, as you're then half way between the two peaks iykwim (plus the 2nd peak is automated)

DH bought me some flowers and some lindt balls petrol station jobby? in the end, but I felt too sick to eat them so I've saved them for tonight.

Saw family at the weekend, and lots of fishing re kids Hmm it drives me potty. Sadly I have been barred by DH from saying ?sadly no, I'm barren? because apparently my humour is too dry and they wouldn't be able to tell if I were serious or not I still dream of doing it though

Loopyhasanotherbean · 15/02/2012 09:54

yes popcorn i didn't get my BFP until CD37...and FF reckoned i ovulated on CD17....so 20 dpo although i think it might have got it slightly wrong and i might have ovulated on possibly CD22 the more i think about it, as the CB digi said 1-2 weeks on CD37, and we SFF on CD20 and temp rose a bit on CD23 although having said that my temps were a bit bonkers and ended up with one of those triphasic ones or whatever they are called. If it was right about ovulating on CD17 we had SWI on CD12, CD14 and CD16, but then really i should have got a 2-3 weeks on the CB test if i was 20 dpo?!. Up until CD37 i had several BFN's, on internet cheapies and on first responses. Which still surprises me as i would have thought even if i ovulated late on CD22, at CD35 which in that case would be 13 dpo which was when i used a first response, i would have got a BFP as they say can detect pregnancy 6 days before period is due! Have our 12 week scan next week, so guess that might answer when i did ovulate!

Can't wait to see a few more BFP's, law of averages there should be a whole batch of them coming up, and there sound like quite a few contenders out there! Lots of "suspicious short blink and you'll miss em AF's" ....seem to remember a few people have had BFP's after those! :)

PopcornMouse · 15/02/2012 09:59

I suppose it stands to reason if it took you extra time to get an agreeable peestick that it means your HSG levels rise more slowly than average preggo people, and so CB would only give you 1-2 weeks instead of 2-3 iykwim? I can't believe your scan is next week, it comes round so fast :)

Yes you're right loopy it was musical who had a BFP post-AF iirc!

musicalmrs · 15/02/2012 10:05

Hi all!

Cakes, just wanted to add to everyone's support. I bled a lot very early in pregnancy, and had a couple of scares and trips to A&E. My first scan was at a similar stage to yours, and also saw no heartbeat... and I also had a two ish week between them. I'll have a look at my notes and work out precisely how far along I was if you want. I also scared myself by looking at other threads - try not to! I don't think all these things develop at precisely the same rate, so you can't really compare yourself to other people.

Hang on there.. we're all brooking for you! :)

Imps, that feast from yesterday sounds amazing! Very jealous of your fabulous culinary skills!

Popcorn, what is it about family and comments about starting families?! Sooo annoying. My step MIL was hinting about us starting one as soon as we got married. We did keep pointing out that we wanted to finish our educations (we were both about to start Masters degrees) and actually start something career/work wise first...

farfalla, glad your nonchalance is paying off! :) Looking forward to your imminent BFP!

Maybe hope you're feeling a bit better. I'm sure Biscuits has karate chopped your AF into staying away for nine months now! :) I spent last night on my own too - DH away for work. He had it worse though - eating in a restaurant alone on Valentines day!

Someone a few days ago on this thread had a bit of a rant about Facebook and lets-post-as-status-about-every-little-detail preggos? I've got a couple doing that at the moment... ARGH! Hide hide hide :)

CupcakesAndCocktails · 15/02/2012 10:10

Morning rat smackers

Wow a lot has happened in here in a few days. Sorry about AF Maybe what a bitch. However Xmas babies are definately what it's all about.

There are some odd AFs round here at the moment. I think everyone is preggo we just need to find the right pee stick Grin

Some very nice sounding valentines evenings Imps especially. I think I'll have to invite myself round to dinner one of these days. Beedle hope you have a lovely night with your DP when you get home.

Cakes how are you feeling today? Your DH sounds lovely. I'm so glad you Pops and Biscuits are hanging around as hopefully those bumps are catching Wink

I'm on my 12th day of high readings. OMFG!! MrCupcakes and I are exhausted! We have dtd 8 times so far. We decided to keep going for the rest of the week then call it quits Blush

I read that thread (both of them) when I got home last night. I wasn't that bothered at the OP first message and thought some of the replies were unnecessary but I totally understood the feelings behind them. However some of the later messages made my blood boil esp the comment about using the infertility section if your struggling to conceive Angry

I'm off to see some very fertile relatives. I'm hoping they don't rub my lack of baby in too much today as I don't think I can take it.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 15/02/2012 10:28

Bean I am in the same boat as you, after 2 horrendous days of AF ( I am now drained) she has all but gone! What is going on with us all? Grin

Cup If I get updiffed this month, I will get a borthday baby (end of Nov) but if not I will get a Christmas one! win-win!

Muscial lovely to see you,. How are you getting on? I see you have bought a house not that I am stalking you

Pop in laws are not helpful in the romance department are they? Sadly my inlaws are descending this weekend, so no romance in the Maybe household Grin

Loooopy you are right, we are due a flurry of BFPs, and what with the leap year coming up......

Far sounds like you had a lovely night.

Scarlett I have never used a predictor one. Worth a shot though Grin

ScarlettInSpace · 15/02/2012 10:51

I think everyone in my office thinks I've a bladder problem, I'm going to the loo every half an hour just to check still nothing lol

Predictor said is accurate up to 6 days before but was BFN last saturday, although even I knew it was a wild stab in the dark at that point...

Boohiss to fertile family members Grin

Biscuitsandtea · 15/02/2012 11:00

You see the thing I'm never sure about with these really early 6 days before AF tests, is they say 'accurate up to 6 days early'. But then when you look at the stats it still seems to mean that they might give you a bfp , but for example 6 days before AF I'm sure the stats on the one I had said it would spot something like 50% of BFPs, so 50% of people who were pg would still get a BFN. So they're not necessarily accurate I always think.

Unless you have got one that really is accurate 6 days early and works differently to the one I had. It confuddled me anyhoooo

Biscuitsandtea · 15/02/2012 11:03

And in relation to your frequent loo visits Scarlett, this is clearly your pregnancy symptoms kicking in (not paranoia about AF) Smile
