Grin Generic your DD sounds just like my DS - he loves a bit of medicine

TheLittleFriend · 01/02/2012 21:00

Green & generic, I wish my dd was a bit more like that. She is absolutely petrified of doctors and hates plasters, vapour rub etc. She will sometimes take calpol though, so it must taste pretty nice!

beangrower · 01/02/2012 22:16

Worried about you Sweetie - panic attacks are rotten but not surprised that TTC brings them on. It's such a big business wanting to create a new life. I think a lot about 'family' and being older because of TTC. Take care and get some advice.

Enjoying antics of DCs. V impressed with 'temperature' and 'awesome'. DS is a way behind your DCs but getting very chatty. Was such fun today as he had the giggles...

For any Scorpios out there (moi being one) Astrology Zone says February is our month for getting updiffed!

CBFM - isn't that what we're already doing with pee stix and temperatures? But if you're being given/lent one then go for it.

Hello Little - haven't seen you for a while.

Right, must go to bed. Am up late, working hard - will be the same for a few weeks. Crikey. Not used to having to apply myself all hours of the day and night (when I'm not looking after DS in the afternoon)!

Imps7 · 02/02/2012 09:16

Just nipping in quickly to say "morning"! Difficult to get access at work now these days so I'll have to catch up later!

PopcornMouse · 02/02/2012 09:22

I wonder what munx is up to? I am starting to worry a bit now, I do hope she is ok.

That's really good Generic - almost there! :)

Maybe I totally agree you should stay off work, or it'll take you twice as long to get well. I haven't seen the CB ov advert which is probably a good thing is she totally smackable? :o

Ninja what a great Valentine's present!! Beats some stale chocolate any day :o
It's still early days and I'm a bit Confused but once we're on firmer ground I have to knit this

Oh sweetie that sounds awful. I've only ever had one panic attack but it was horrendous, it must be terrible getting them frequently. I hope the GP can help, let us know how it goes.

Thanks Olives

I agree CBFM are essentially expensive OPKs... that said, the benefit is that there is no control line ? it measures the line against your previous readings, so it indicates what's positive for you (which was good for me because I didn't get a proper +OPK every month so it was all a bit ambiguous). So it depends how useful you think it'll be against the £60 cost + sticks, imho.

I have indigestion this morning but DH ate all the tums, so I just had a glug of milk and it was possibly a bad call Confused I also seem to have the mythical prego sore throat :o

NoMaybeAboutIt · 02/02/2012 10:09

Ooooh, Pop, real life preggo symptoms Grin

That little cardi is too cute. It will make kernel look very cute Smile The clear blue lady is beyond smackable.

Olives and Generic your two DCs are obviously going to grow up to be big and clever like their Mums Grin

Bean hope you feel a bit more rested after a good sleep.

Little how are you doing?

Imps how long till you leave your job?

In news here, I am staying off work for the rest of the week I have finished one pair of socks, and have almost finished another. I'm very pleased with them. Have also decided on how I am decorating the many cakes I am making tomorrow for Saturday's party! Busy day tomorrow me thinks!

PopcornMouse · 02/02/2012 10:25

Oooo photos maybe , photos! :o
(and good call on staying home - well done!)

GenericDietCola · 02/02/2012 10:45

Green DD is definitely a hypochondriac she's always saying things like 'I hurt my arm, I need a plaster'. She also loves vapour rub and any medicine really. Obviously I am a very responsible mother and only give it to her when she is actually ill, but it does make me laugh! Awesome is a great word! DD also says words we don't think we've taught her eg yesterday she was pretending a hat was a cowboy hat and saying 'yee ha' (actually she was saying 'see ha' but I knew what she meant). She's so entertaining.

Little Calpol must taste lovely - they all seem to love it!

Bean don't work too hard. Do you work freelance?

Morning Imps!

Pop glad you are hanging around.

Maybe I agree - good call staying at home. You need to get better lady.

I've got horrid cramps again today so have made doctor's appointment for tomorrow. I really don't want to have more scans etc but if I need anything doing I don't want to put it off. Maybe it is AF on her way, but it sure is painful. I had to nip out of work this am to get some paracetomol (I'm just as much a hypochondriac as DD).

whimsicalname · 02/02/2012 12:15

Hello everyone. Disappointing news: my fire fighters were not handsome. One had a thick neck. One was female. As part of my research is about disspelling stereotypes, I really shouldn't be encouraging you.

Have since been home with DS2 who has a 'broken' arm. It's only broken in that it hurts, and he's perked up enough today for the school trip. Blooming malingerer.

I'm hope alone (again) as Mr Whim is in Paris with his fancy woman. Since his fancy woman is 2 male engineers called Steve and Gary I don't mind too much. I'm on a sewing mission at the mo, got a skirt on the go trying to use up fabric, though realised earlier that DS3 and I look like total homemade blooming hippies.

Off to my folks at lunchtime tomorrow, so prob won't be back till Monday. Hope I don't miss anything!

Hope you're feeling better maybe. You should stay off for rest of week. Doctor's orders!

Hope you're still grinning Pop.

Hello everyone else.

Imps7 · 02/02/2012 12:22
beangrower · 02/02/2012 12:43

Wow - who beautiful. Now you've inspired me. Might start embellishing speed cameras with a bit of French Knotting while cunningly sabotaging them with my art.

beangrower · 02/02/2012 12:44

how beautiful. Said the wol owl.

beangrower · 02/02/2012 13:02

Generic - sounds uncomfortable. I think you should get another scan. You have to be right before you start again. Poor you.

I run a business but mostly that means me freelancing apart from the odd project where I muster a team of freelancers to edit a whopping 3,000 web articles for the BBC. This book I'm doing is fascinating, but by an 80+ yo author, so requires a bit of a wrangle. Admire her though - first book! Anyway - will be late nights but kind of good to forget my TTC woes for a while.

Love that cardie Pop. Your kernel will be so Steiner...

Maybe - any better?

Oh dear to broken arm, Whims. Sad

Have had letter from docs practice - now investigating complaints re' GPs. Don't really like the idea of ongoing saga, but I guess it was worth pointing out how crap they've been.

Not going to make me diffed though.

Also Angry with a male friend who took to rubbing it in with DP that I have 'encouraged' him to stop drinking. This friend knows we've been TTC (as he went through something similar with his wife, got her diffed, then found out when baby was 2wo that she'd been having an affair during pg - so perhaps a bit more aware, you might have assumed)... How can people stir like this at the drop of a hat? Jayzez H. Each day I feel so much closer to just knocking it on the head for all the anxiety it has caused.

Sorreee, Brookateers. One BFP for all. Etc.

PopcornMouse · 02/02/2012 13:08

Came home from boots (where I went to replace the Tums DH ate - and I do mean ate, he likes the taste Hmm ) with a lunchdeal - pasta salad and carrot cake - and got told by DH that I couldn't justify having a big appetite when kernel is currently just half a dozen cells. Am a bit Shock and Angry he feels he can tell me what to eat and suggest I'm not doing enough to ensure I don't get fat Angry though he does have acknowledged issues with food, having a morbidly obese father and borderline-anorexic mother . So Mr Popcorn is currently thoroughly in the dog house.

Loving the crocheted trees Imps !

Good luck at the GP Generic - I'm brooking it's nothing serious, but it is wise to have these things checked out.

Have a lovely weekend whims :)

PopcornMouse · 02/02/2012 13:10

Bean that sucks bum. When will people learn to keep out of other people's private lives? Shock

beangrower · 02/02/2012 14:11

Well - serves me right, really for even being open with someone. I should learn to keep my trap shut at all times.

Gotta laugh at your DH, Pop (sorry if you're not). Take no notice. Now you are a preggo you can do what you want and enjoy!

whimsicalname · 02/02/2012 14:31

Bother, I woke the baby up by trying on my new skirt too loudly.

pop I put on 4 stone during each of my pregnancies, and lost it all again after without actually too much bother. Carrot cake is a portion of fruit. FACT.

Just off to look at your cardi.

whimsicalname · 02/02/2012 14:35

Ooh that is pretty. I potato printed bunting triangles onto little vests for a friend when she had a girl. She never let the baby wear it though, because I let on that I'd used emulsion rather than fabric paint. Shame. It's not like emulsion comes off, is it?

whimsicalname · 02/02/2012 14:40

And another thing (can you tell I haven't spoken to a grown up today) Clarks have started doing shoes with a liberty print lining. Or did I tell you that yesterday? I certainly told someone.

here

PopcornMouse · 02/02/2012 16:16

Ooo love the shoes, whims ! I also love the idea of printing bunting on to vests, I might have to steal that nearer the time :)

You're right bean I need to leave him to his ishoos and get on with nomming the carrotcake it! :o

Imps7 · 02/02/2012 18:14

Good evening lovelies!

Pops, your OH is well-meaning but comments like that would also really piss me off!!! Am I right that he works with young people with eating disorders? Bless him, it must be something close to his heart, but you were only eating your lunch!!

Whim those shoes are be-yew-tiful! They have some real gems in Clarkes and they're so reasonably priced too!

Bean that was a silly comment for your OH's friend to make. Sounds like he's had a very sad time of it and I agree that you'd think he'd be a bit more sensitive to things. Am sure your OH won't waiver - he sounds so committed to the cause.

Maybe and Generic have you booked your GP appts yet? We need you in tip top smacketing action so we're all brooking that you're 100% better pronto.

Munx if you're out there I really really hope all's going well for you.

Right, last night's OBEM calls!

SweetieDoesIt · 02/02/2012 19:20

Pop loving the real preggo symptoms eat much carrot cake while you can!!!

Whims you guys live the jet set lifestyle, how is the preparations for the move coming along?

Maybe glad you have got the rest of the week off, try to take it easy with DS

Generic and Maybe hope you appointments go well too, fx for you both

Imps I have changed offices at work too so it means posts only when I work from home or in an evening unless I want everyone in my open plan office to be looking over my shoulder Blush

Bean people can be so insensitive, especially when they know the circumstances, FIL always asks if we are pregnant, literally first words out of his mouth. It is a bit of a standing joke now, but as if we wouldn?t tell him when we are Hmm

I am thinking of taking up my SIL on her offer of her CBDM too. She offered it to me on our wedding night, not the best timing Shock. So I turned it down but may send DH to see if the offer still stands moi eat my words???

Ladies thanks for the good wishes with my GP appointment tomorrow. It is something I have suffered from on and off for years Sad. I have tried many different treatments with varying degrees of success. On a positive I have got in to see my usual Dr who is very understanding, going to see him usually has good results.

Hope everyone is well and not too chilly - bbbrrrrrrrrrrr

BeedleTheBard · 03/02/2012 05:30

imps I love those street art photos - maybe whims could adapt it to use up all her excess material Grin

pop you enjoy your carrot cake :)

I can't believe all the insensitive people there are around, luckily all the people who know we are trying no longer ask for any updates, and no-one who doesn't know doesn't ask (I do hope that makes sense!)

I hope all the poorly people and poorly mini-people (and even those that are just pretending) feell better soon.

I have also been considering the CBFM, but internet cheapy OPKs usually work for me and are followed by a temp rise, and I have very regular cycles, so I don't really think I need one - unless anyone can persuade me otherwise [hopeful emoticon]

I'm about 7dpo and nothing unusual to report - I felt a bit sick coming home on the train the other night but I think that was more to do with reading on a fast train for 3 hours as opposed to exceptionally early preggo symptoms Grin

Tis also brrrrrrr here -13C at the moment, and it hasn't been above freezing even during the day for the last 2 weeks or so.

PopcornMouse · 03/02/2012 09:18

Yes Imps - so it's something he deals with every day :( But I went out with a friend last night and had a massive steak with proper chips and full-fat colslaw, muah ha ha ha haaaa!

Good luck at the GP sweetie

Hi beedle :) Doesn't sound like a CBFM would help, if OPKs are working for you and you're quite regular? Nausea = preggo symptom, fact :o

GreenOlives · 03/02/2012 09:27

Morning lovelies!
Bean I'm a Scorpio too so that means the stars are in my favour this month then - hurrah! We can be diffed together! Grin Boo to the stirring friend - people are so bloody tactless sometimes Angry

Glad you decided to stay off work Maybe and glad you are enjoying some therapeutic knitting! Smile

Generic I hope your tummy is feeling better today and the GP sorts you out.

Hope your appointment goes well today too Sweetie

Gutted that your firefighters weren't fit Whims, every time we have a fire alarm at work I am always disappointed are the distinctly old and slightly unfit firefighters that attend! Enjoy the family weekend.

Pops as far as I'm concerned a pasta salad and a slice of carrot cake is a perfectly reasonable lunch for a non-preggo so for someone whose body is busy creating new life it sounds like a light lunch to me! I'm not surprised you were a little Angry with DH. When I was pregnant with DS the only time I ate more was in the first 3-4 months as it really helped with the nausea/sickness to eat regular carbs. I hope the carrot cake was yummy! Wink

-13 Beedle, that's very chilly. I think we hit -8 last night and that is cold enough! I have to keep going out and breaking the ice on my chickens water bowl as despite filling it with hot water it freezes up again within a couple of hours or so! Poor girls!

I know I keep moaning about work but it's really getting me down at the moment Sad I'm sure all the stress that I have there is not helpful for TTC! It's so dangerous because the hospital is always at maximum capacity so patients end up stacked up in A&E with nowhere to go but obviously there are new patients coming in all the time and I spend every shift plate spinning to try and make sure everyone stays safe. I just have this horrible feeling that one day one of those plates is going to come crashing down Sad I come home feeling shattered, miserable and stressed We have not DTD since last ovulation week and as it is CD11 today I need to be getting in the mood soon! Sorry for the moan, just helps to offload a bit, DH is a great listener but he's heard it all a million times so I hope you don't being my sounding board too Smile On a more positive note we are off to see my consultant today for RMC results and to work out what to try next so fingers crossed for that.
