Just wrote a blardy long message before getting the 'thread full' message so here we go.................

OP posts:
GenericDietCola · 31/01/2012 15:34

Far I love the idea of the nonchalant approach - play hard to get!

Imps and Far thank you but I have been here before and menkulled myself, well, menkul. I think I need to wait a couple more weeks. the last BFFP was very faint, so perhaps tomorrow's will be BFN. Hope so (weird thought)!

Cakes you were just too early - I will brook no argument you will get a BFP soon!

ScrambledSmegs · 31/01/2012 15:39

YAAAAAAAAYYYY POP!!!! So very happy for you! Grin Grin Grin Thanks

We went to see Dr W this morning, have fertility clinic appointment on 27th Feb! Very happy, hopefully they can sort out my weird body asap. So we're off on hols tomorrow and hopefully will be able to relax.

Have to post and run, am panic packing and clearing kitchen! Love to all, see you in 3 weeks or so.

xxx

beangrower · 31/01/2012 15:40

Generic - sounds so confusing. I think a BFP is possible but you need to know either way. Brooking.

Imps - that sounds ouch and a bit too ouch but don't want to worry you. I had some weird pains last month but too late. They freaked me out though. Docs or just a couple more months of keeping your eye on it?

Cakes - BFP coming your way.

Btw everyone - my GP did say so very helpfully that the Russians swear by walnuts for sperm quality. [durr emoticon] Thank FOCK for science and all that civilisation has achieved. And this was the better GP. As you know the previous GP told me - uninvited - DP's SA showed motility issues then rang DP and said everything was fine. 4% winning sperms - fine?! Bunch of tosspots. Right now I just wish I could haul me and DP off to a fertility clinic and hand over gallons of hard-earned wonga in exchange for a BFP. But of course that isn't going to happen - not over DP's nelly - and we probably have a better chance taking our time and trying naturally. I think that fostering is a more likely future for the Beans though, if I'm honest. But that isn't brooking is it. Where is my smacketeers sword and my silly boots and big feather in a felt hat?

Far - good luck with nonchalance I hope that does the trick.

TTFN - off to pick up Beanlet after a day's hard editing and a bash at the dentists too. Yurk.

Imps7 · 31/01/2012 15:46

Oooh Far you can be my fellow nonchalentee! The first few cycles of it were a bit stressy for me (trying to keep stressiness under wraps is hard which is probably why our menfolk can't do it) but it's much easier now and funnily enough I feel waaaay more relaxed about the whole TTC thing now even when I don't get my shag than I did before. Still bloody hasn't happened though which puts paid to the ridiculous theory of "relax and it will happen" once and for all. So nerr.

Cakes you're still in it to win it: No AF + Well-timed shag = Potential BFP and that is an official biological theorem discovered by Aristotle, I'm pretty sure. A good chap, that Aristotle.

Hmmmm, okay Generic well as long as you're sure - just want to make sure you're looking after yourself. The offer to punch anyone who calls you a lunatic in the face is still open though.

beangrower · 31/01/2012 15:48

Imps - I would love to take you up on your punching offers. I'll send you our GP's practice address.

Imps7 · 31/01/2012 15:48
Imps7 · 31/01/2012 15:59

What the actual fuck Bean? "Russians swear by walnuts for sperm quality"?? From an actual, qualified GP?????

GenericDietCola · 31/01/2012 16:06

Imps I'm a bit afraid and a bit in awe!

SweetieDoesIt · 31/01/2012 16:13

Afternoon all - am over my rant now Grin
Have managed to catch up on all the posts and BFP congrats for Pop

Bean did you see that programme about making complaints or at least rating your GP surgery poorly. It might be worth looking into, as far as I remember it was like a Trip Advisor type thingy. Hope dentist goes well too.

Enjoy the hols Smegs and looking forward to the new kitchen. Lovely.

Far nonchalance seems to be getting positive vibes from the brookers. Tip toe around the DH then pounce in you best undies, rose between teeth etc.

Oooowwwww Cakes are we on for our second BFP in a week? Didn't you had some implantation bleeding earlier this cycle too. This is a while ago now so am thinking all looking very possible for you my dear.

Maybe your DH sounds luffly, bringing home such sweet cheery uppy type things. You are a lucky lucky woman.

waves to everyone else, especially those lurkers who have de-lurked briefly for the BFP

scarletfingernail · 31/01/2012 16:28

Huge congrats Popcorn on the BFP. Hope to see you on the PSEPP thread very soon.

beangrower · 31/01/2012 16:41

Don't worry Sweetie - long complaint letter already crafted and delivered. Written before Walnut-gate but there you go. I've seen it all; walnuts were the tip of the iceberg.

The GPs generally seem to say nothing doing re' sperm quality but I'm holding out hopes for our own regime.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 31/01/2012 17:06

Shock at walnut-gate Bean How do they actually qualify? You will get your BFP, of that I am sure

Pop I am still so bloomin' excited for you.

Imps can I send you round to my boss the next time he is a twat?

How are you feeling now Sweetie?

Generic I too would go and get your levels measured. Though I am secretly hoping for a BFP for you Smile

Smegs so pleased you have a consultant appointment booked, though you will have a BFP before then Grin

Far sounds like you have a plan. It does sometimes feel like banging your head against a brick wall though it would be far more useful if our DHs were banging us against a brick wall

BeedleTheBard · 31/01/2012 17:25

OMG Popcorn I'm so so sooo happy for you, congratulations Thanks

Now I need to catch up on the last few days worth of posts, so I'll come back later

Biscuitsandtea · 31/01/2012 17:51

Pop (you preggo, you! Grin).

In answer to your question, DH's SA improved after he gave up pepsi specifically. Coke type drinks aren't great for sperm, I think being just choc full of chemicals and crap, and neither is caffeine. He doesn't drink tea or coffee, or anything else caffeiney. But he did drink a lot of Pepsi, which he totally cut out. He actually gave up pepsi and chocolate for lent last year. And stayed off the Pepsi up until we got our BFP.

He's never been a big alcohol drinker, never smoked etc, so Pepsi was his only real ttc-related vice. I think he might have still had the odd red bull instead of Pepsi but they were for 'emergencies' like if he had to pull an all nighter.

And yes, Bean he started taking man vits too. We had the Wellman Conception vits (which we bought as the Pregnacare His n Her ones, but they're the same thing).

To be honest, I guess there are other ways of getting the right supplements which are prob cheaper, but I hadn't really considered this. To be honest this was before I discovered MN and realised how much detail everyone else knew!

Still delighted for you Pop Grin. And looking forward to seeing who's next!

Generic, hoping you get an answer one way or the other soon. Obv I'd love it to be a proper BFP, but if it can't be that then I'm brooking for a BFP and your cycle to kick start pronto.

You know when you do get your next BFP, do you have to do anything different? Or get any extra testing or anything? Apologies for such a thick question. I couldn't remember if you'd been under any RMC care? Sorry if that's an insensitive question, it isn't meant to be.

Bean, if Imps hadn't already done such a grand job, I'd be going round to kick your rubbish GP's arse.

I've forgotten everything else I've read

I'm 32 weeks today - still seems like ages to go though. Had an extra growth scan last week and this one's a whopper Confused. Also had GTT done and it isn't GD, which us good, but it is still a whopper, which is gonna have to come out Confused.

Lots of love to everyone else. xxx

Biscuitsandtea · 31/01/2012 17:54

Oh, and Smegs - have a great hol. Look forward to you coming back with a great big BFP to wave at your fertility appt Smile.

Cakes when are you confirming your obv pregnancy? Hmm? Huh?

musicalmrs · 31/01/2012 18:10

Pop, you have no idea how much your news brightened a dismal Tuesday morning. Congrats again! :D

I must confess that I told DH before MN. However, that's mainly because I tested at like midnight after a night out feeling completely rubbish - I wanted to check I wasn't pregnant before booking a doctor's appointment - and I just wanted to climb into bed even after the confirmation, I felt so rubbish, that finding a computer to tell you all wasn't possible until the next morning :P

Far, sorry you're having SWI issues. I have been following what's going on (I lurk on here a lot!), and know you've had a rough time :( If it's any help, in the cycle I finally did get pregnant.. I didn't tell DH when my fertile time was. It might have helped that I didn't truly know as I was still in the post-pill bizarre cycle stage! Each time FF thought I'd OV-ed I'd tell him, we'd evaluate if we thought there was a chance, then try to move on for the 2ww. However, I still made sure we DTD every 2-3 days as I knew my cycles were up the spout. I haven't worked it out, but I think the OV date that worked was one of the later ones when the pressure was off of us both. If you were to slightly fib about your OV dates, might that help take the pressure off..? So you could pounce on him without him feeling pressured into doing it 'right'?

Cakes, this is sounding potentially exciting!

beangrower · 31/01/2012 19:25

Oh dear - just had the sad news that my poor cousin (just turned 36), who lost boy/girl twins at about 20wks last summer, has just had an ectopic. She really is having a terrible time. Another reminder to count one's blessings.

Sorry guys - it's just so rubbish for people isn't it? My dentist's sister - just past 30 - has been TTC for over 2yrs. Male fertility issues I think. IVF didn't work though. Dentist says it's affecting all the family.

On a lighter note - Smegs have a great shagathon hol. Come back glowing please.

Biscuits - 32 weeks! That's when people get to describe you as 'stately'... I do believe. Grin

And Grin at Maybe's wall suggestions. Plus thanks for the BFP Maybe - I love your style.

Hello Beedle - haven't seen you in a while.

Signing off but will be back for more BFPs v soon I hope.

Biscuitsandtea · 31/01/2012 19:31

Grin at 'stately'. I think that sums my whale-ness me up perfectly Smile

TheLittleFriend · 31/01/2012 19:31

Oh pop! Congratulations! I'm so pleased for you.

rushes off to buy a cbfm

Imps this is totally unscientific and non-medical, but I always find that if I have any type of abdo pain, then depending on the, ahem, contents of my bowel Blush it might hurt more round that area (basically, if you need a poo it can cause a bit of a stabbing pain in that area).

scrambled, glad to hear you've got an appointment sorted, an ironic bfp will be yours now Smile

generic, maybe best to speak with the gp for some hcg tests, just so you know for sure one way or t'other. x

Biscuitsandtea · 31/01/2012 19:32

But very Sad news about your cousin Bean Sad. TTC can be so hard in so many different ways Sad.

BeedleTheBard · 31/01/2012 19:53

Wow finally caught up, hope I can remember everything that's been going on!

far we also live really close to a fire station - can't really see them through the trees but we can hear them when they play with their sirens first thing on a Sunday morning

whims hope you had fun with the firemen Grin

bean just a little thought about DH's sperm results, I don't think 4% is as bad as it first sounds, i think 7-10% is perfectly normal, so don't be thinking he should be achieving 90% to get his A* (sorry if you already knew this, or I've remembered it wrong). Hopefully a few small changes can make all the difference

Grrr to your insensitive boss sweetie

generic hope those tests stop messing with your head soon.

And same to you cakes just waiting for you to confirm your blindingly obvious pregnancy in the next few days

scarlett good luck with the appointment on Thursday, things move really quickly when you can go private, even if you can't have any treatment at least you can get the tests done

maybe your DH sounds lovely, I remember many years ago when DP did romantic things like that :)

smegs have a lovely holiday.

Won't write more as its nearly time for House

GenericDietCola · 31/01/2012 20:37

Aw yay for little kernal as the nickname! How do you feel Pop? Are you planning to tell anyone yet?

Bean that is sad news indeed and I hope your cousin has a baby sometime toon. In fact I will brook no argument.

Biscuits I won't get any extra monitoring if I get pregnant again, but if I have another mc I can have tests for RMC (you get the tests after three in a row and I've had one, then DD, then two more). I'm not sure what we would do in that situation as I think DH would be against any interventions but I know I would want answers and am fairly sure I wouldn't want to stop trying. Hopefully it won't come to that and I don't mind the question at all!

I'm pretty sure my BFFPs are just that (false) and will do another test in the morning and properly time it. It took 7 or 8 weeks for the hCG to come down last time and I think the length of time is in proportion to the length of the pregnancy so I'm expecting maybe 6 weeks this time (13 weeks versus 10 weeks at time of ERPC). Anyhoo - enough of me being morbid - let's all follow Popcorn's excellent example and start the next round of proper BFPs!

beangrower · 31/01/2012 20:37

Beedle - you've just cheered me up twice. Didn't realise that 7-10% is normal, although 20% motility (instead of a preferable 50%) isn't great. But still, that cheered me up as did ref to Pop's kernel, you poet you! Grin

Enjoy House Beedle and hopefully we'll see you back here soon.

Btw Sweetie - your boss deserved a feck you and more. What an awful thing to say. I have gone to look out my 1990 pair of steel-toe-capped DMs so that he will have black shins when you next see him.

xxx

GenericDietCola · 31/01/2012 20:38

Oh and Biscuits wow at 32 weeks that is wonderful! And you look blooming might I say. And stately (love that, might use it in casual conversation).

NinjaChipmunk · 31/01/2012 21:09

I thought I smelt a BFP! Way to go pop, very chuffed for you! What lovely news. Have you got over the shock yet?
