Blush far
In my defence, you guys were all awake and DH was snoring his head off :o

Can't see the GP til the 10th Shock Angry

NoMaybeAboutIt · 31/01/2012 12:05

Ah, Pop You are too lovely.

That's only 10 days away Pop, you have us until then Grin

Oh Far that is rubbish. Could you maybe pull a sickie? Or go out for a nice night when SWI falls?

beangrower · 31/01/2012 12:08

Ah - there, I knew Pop was in the club! This is wonderful, wonderful news dear Pop and you must be the happiest mouse alive. No need to rush to the docs. I don't think I went until about 8 weeks along. Just feel wonderfully magic and wander around with your lovely secret (for now) in your tummy, glowing. And enjoy peeing on lots of sticks to relive that BFP moment!

Hugs to everyone else. Whims - I never used to be the hugging sort either. But I am now. Dedicated. Just as I'm totally converted to life with little people despite being utterly disinterested for most of my fertile years. Doh.

Yes - looking forward to a load more BFPs from you lot. Far - keep your pecker up; sounds so hard for you with a tricky OH. Really hope something shifts for you asap.

Thanks for kindnesses over DP's results. I imagine things should improve by early summer if he sticks with his regime so there's still a chance to begin a life at 40. Biscuits - you said you got better results with second test after your DH gave up sweet drinks? Was he on manvits too? Mine has been taking manvits and chinese herbs for a couple of months and has just started acu/v little drinking. He has a nasty rugby injury to the crown jewels (when he was 18!) so I wonder if this is taking its toll. We'll discuss with GP if next results are poor.

Generic - any news re' pesky hormones?

How are all you others - Scarlett, Maybe, Olives?

Stasi · 31/01/2012 12:12

Congratulations Pop, so very happy and excited for you!!! Lots and lots of brooking for a sticky bean for you, and a lovely healthy pregnancy. Hopefully the extra energy and good feelings will continue, and you'll miss out on the morning sickness and tiredness! Fx

I'm busy in work today, and have to go out shopping at lunch to buy things for SiL coming to dinner tonight. Will try and find some time to come on and catch up with everyone and to order a CBFM online.

beangrower · 31/01/2012 12:15

Pop - can you confirm if you had a few days without SWI before you dtd on ov day? Am wondering if this is a new experiment to hold in Bean Towers...

Imps7 · 31/01/2012 12:21

Tee hee I imagine that when (please god let it be a "when") I get my BFP I will tell you lot first - OH leaves the house before I wake up in the morning and I don't particuarly fancy telling him by text or email!

Far, my OH is on board with the idea of having a baby, but still doesn't really have his head round the fact that to get one he has to shag me as much as possible at the right time (although given Pop's experience, maybe once is actually enough!). We still have sex fails when he's tired or would prefer to have a drink (the latter really pisses me off) and I've just had to learn not to be openly angry or upset about that.

I've discovered that with my OH, tackling potential sex/timing issues is better at the start of the cycle - gets them out of the way. Perhaps you could tell your DH now when the best shagging days are in a matter of fact "just to let you know, my fertile period will be x date to y date - if you fancy being in with a chance this month, having a shag a couple of times during that period is the best thing to do - up to you, I'm not bothered either way". Then remind him when you're at the start of that period and then leave him alone - don't try to jump on him at all, in fact make it look as though you're soooo not bothered about having a shag. Chances are he'll be at you in the kitchen again Wink. If not, then there's always next month (this has become my life motto these days, sadly).

Pops did you/do you have sore boobs at all???

Who's testing next? I'm only 6 DPO so a bit longer for me!

CupcakesAndCocktails · 31/01/2012 12:25

Right I've had a long long read catching up with you lot. Still don't know where to start as so much has happened.

Really sorry that Generic and Little are back here. Lots of brooking for you both.

And was nice to see Bartlet back, I've been thinking about you and your little girl often.

Hope Solars is ok out there in RL

As for everyone else let's get smacking that rat. I want this thread empty by next month ok?! We are all getting our BFPs!

I bought a CBFM last month but didn't use it as it arrived too late in my cycle. Anyway I've just started using it so here's hoping I get lucky like Pop

Can I ask Pop did you only dtd when you got a peak then not a high? Btw was lovely to hear your DH's reaction. I daydream way too much about how to tell DH/how he will react Blush

CupcakesAndCocktails · 31/01/2012 12:28

Imps my friend it is when not if. Ok? You are getting your BFP and we are brooking no argument Grin

DH made me take him to Burger King to celebrate, then told me it was the last bit of junkfood I was allowed for 9 months Hmm :o

I plan to pee on lots of sticks bean :o I know there's no real rush but I am excited I will need regular blood tests for my thyroid :)

Bean & Cupcakes I didn't expect to ov until CD18 at the very earliest ? my previous cycles had been CD18, CD38, CD20 - so I was ignoring the ?high? readings (which I got from CD8) and assumed it was just getting used to me. We had a coincidental SFF on what worked out as ov-3/CD12 and then we had a panic-shag on ov day (CD15) when I got my surprise CBFM ?peak?, and that was it. I checked back and it's definitely the first time we've only SWI on ov day and not the day before as well/instead. There might be nothing in it, of course :)

Wow Biscuits I missed the bit about sweet drinks ? were they sugary ones, or ?diet??

Far I'm with Imps - I think you should try softly-softly for a month, and see if he complies? Maybe just let him know that a mid-week shag would be good that week, "no pressure", sort of thing? Easier said than done, I know.

Imps my boobs were a teensy bit crampy, but nothing like last month. It might be a coinkydink though, as I do find they're worse some months than others?

Thanks froot your BFP is winging its way to you, I know it :)

SweetieDoesIt · 31/01/2012 13:47

Just popping in for a quick rant as words fail me in RL.

In a conversation with my boss saying I still wasn't feeling well and working from home today and tomorrow, his response was "not morning sickness is it" ShockShockShock I told him to f off - not very professional I know. Blush

So I logged off and watched Jeremy Kyle to cheer myself up. Am still very angry and upset though to be honest. What a tosser, my boss not Jezza - although.

Still very happy for Pop of course, sorry I have not caught up on all the earlier posts but I will. I just needed to share.

GenericDietCola · 31/01/2012 14:00

POPCORN! POPCORN! POPCORN! I knew it! Well done you! And hurrah for the shag dictator! I am sooooo pleased for you. What test did you use? I am so very pleased for you and enjoy all those BFPs in the 10 days before dr appointment!

Bean I agree with the other smacketeers re your GP's frankly unscientific attitude. Sperm meeting egg is simply a question of biology and worrying about it etc is not going to prevent it from happening. This attitude is ludicrous and insulting. I suggest your DP's sperm count/motility has worsened due to age/alcohol etc and the things he is doing to improve it such as the acu, Chinese herbs, less booze and manvits will help and that's that. I'm sure with all these changes a BFP will be yours in no time. [hug]

Sweetie I am incensed on your behalf! How dare your boss ask you such a personal question! And I love Jezza too - it's my guilty secret.

Far and Little thanks for the advice re hCG but last time it took 7 or 8 weeks to get back to normal and it's only been 4 weeks. They are faint but there and I think if I'm still getting them at 6 weeks I'll go to the GP.

Forgotten what everyone else has said due to my rage on behalf of Bean and Sweetie!

PopcornMouse · 31/01/2012 14:05

sweetie Shock that was very rude of him, and equally unprofessional!

Generic it was a Tesco own-brand, not sure how sensitive they are? It was a proper almost-as-solid-as-the-control-line line though :o

PopcornMouse · 31/01/2012 14:07

Google tells me they're 25miu :)

GenericDietCola · 31/01/2012 14:13

Ooh good to get such a strong line! Bet you're glad you didn't test early this month aren't you? I am very pleased - this has made my day!

PopcornMouse · 31/01/2012 14:18

Aww thanks Generic that's really sweet. It still feels odd saying it, but I hope you get your BFN soon :)

I really must get some work done... But I just can't concentrate :o

GenericDietCola · 31/01/2012 14:43

Aw Pop put your feet up this is a special day!

GenericDietCola · 31/01/2012 14:54

Right - I need a fish slap please. I had ov-like twinges (mitten-burgers) 10 days ago and now I am sort of trying to convince myself I could be pregnant again. But that's not possible right? I can't have ov'd if I still got a faint preg test +ve that day could I? Presumably the hCG needs to decline before ovulation is triggered... I sound like a lunatic, I know.

Imps7 · 31/01/2012 15:01

Generic, righto lovely I think that you need to get yourself round to the doctors and get them to test your HCG levels so that you have certainty either way. Whilst it would be so bloody lovely if you were updiffed again so quickly, I have no idea whether that would be possible or not! In any event, given that it seems strange to have BFFPs this long after, it is something well worth getting checked out.

PS, you're not a lunatic - you are a Smacketeer! If anyone calls you a lunatic, I shall punch them in the face.

PPS, does anyone have mega-painful ovulation pains? My last two have been really really painful - like a very bad stitch above the relevant ovary radiating across my lower abdomen combined with sharp spikey pains that shoot up my arse the arse bit in particular is a concern.

cakes82 · 31/01/2012 15:01

I'm really pleased for you Pop :o

A bit of a meme post. I was looking on internet at possible due dates in the hope of tricking af to get a move on and put me out of my misery. I discovered based on lmp and when I think ov happened that this month should have been 30days long and I am currently on cd35 so in hopeful optimism i'm not a week late until friday. So maybe worth POAS then?

PopcornMouse · 31/01/2012 15:05

I agree with Imps Generic - I don't think it would be unreasonable for them to test your levels. Have the HPTs been getting fainter/stronger/changing in any way?

Blimey cakes - that's bloody restrained of you! This is the first month I held out til AF's due date! :o POAS! :o :o

cakes82 · 31/01/2012 15:06

Well I have POAS and got BNF but i'm hopeful i was too early lol

farfallarocks · 31/01/2012 15:11

generic I think it is possible, I think its odd to be getting BFPs still 4 weeks later but not unusual for you from what you are saying. I would defintiely go and see the gp and ask them to do HCG 48 hours apart and see what is going on.
You poor thing, this is just the last sort of head mekulling you need right now.

cakes definitely worth retesting on Friday, did you get a positive OPK?

Waves to Cakes

imps I am definitely going to adopt the nonchalant approach this month. I have failed on the blatant approach so this way it has to be. I think playing hard to get is the way forward!

OP posts:
cakes82 · 31/01/2012 15:16

Sounds like a good plan Far then its up to him.

Don't use OPK. Just keep an 'eye' on CM
