duggs1976 · 17/01/2012 22:21

hey ladies,

There are a few of us who are ttc after mc's, however there will be ladies out there who are also ttc for the first time or second or third without success. If anyone is on, considering or had success on a super ovulation programme then do join us. How long did it take ? Did you try IUI with it.. ? Did you have PCOS?

Kicking this off and hoping some of you will join....

Thanks Duggs. Do you happen to know how much each scan is re the follicles? Also if the first round of IVF is about 8K what happens if you have to go back for another embryo transfer is it another 8K? Thanks.

duggs1976 · 09/04/2012 10:43

First scan with dr s was £300 or something then £200 there after. The ivf was about £5k plus about £2k for CGH testing. Then another £500 or so for intrallipids and clexane and all those nk cells drugs. F embryo transfer is £650 natural cycle or £950 medicated cycle. Hope this helps Smile

Hey fellow SO gang just reading kittens post on pred thread and thought we could do a little reminder list of what pred and what SO cycle we r on to get some results in front of us. I will kick off :

Duggs pred%237 SO%234

Continue list. .

I've done 4 SO cycles (one an IUI) before this ivf. If this ivf fails I'll be back on SO to get to magic 6 cycles.

Hi all hope you all had a good Easter, was great being off work!! Ate a lot of chocolate and cake and went wine tasting at Vinopolis on Sat which is probably not the best ivf preparation but great fun! Grin

Pebbles pred 1 & SO 1

snoopygirl · 10/04/2012 14:08

Hi all,

abney any more testing done yet? Like duggs said don't get hopes up too much, 5/6th cycle meant to be the months where they get results. Why I don't know, like been said before it's just a numbers game, as Dr S told me there is no build up or improvement of egg quality. Just doubling your chances.

Pebbles pred 1 & SO 1
Snoopy pred 5 & SO 2

I've moved on from SO now but I thought it might be useful to add my stats anyway:

Duggs pred 7 & SO 4
Pebbles pred 1 & SO 1
Snoopy pred 5 & SO 2
euro pred 5 & SO 3, now on IUI

Arianrhod · 10/04/2012 15:56

QQ ladies - anyone doing superov using gonal-f for follicle stimulation? In her email to me after I gave her my LH/FSH/E2 results Louise mentioned that maybe I'd need gonal-f to stimulate my ovaries, but I thought you ladies used Letrozole (or did I get that wrong)?

Havingkittens · 10/04/2012 16:19

Duggs pred 7 & SO 4
Pebbles pred 1 & SO 1
Snoopy pred 5 & SO 2
euro pred 5 & SO 3, now on IUI
Kittens Pred 10, starting SO3
(13 months overall on pred, but inc 2 month and 1 month break so far)

So, for anyone that missed my update on the other thread, AF is here. Back to square one again....

I think most of us are on letrozole ari but maybe gonal-f is better if you have higher FSH. That would be my guess. They do seem to tailor the treatments depending on the individual.

Hi Snoopygirl BFN still. AF due Thurs/Fri. Don't usually get a bfp until 1 or 2 days before. I have been able to get BFP quite easily, however, 10/11 MC's later and 1 DS I am still trying to give him a brother or sister or both if both eggs are fertilised. Grin. I have a feeling that my eggs are no good so may end up trying IVF if all else fails. Big stumbling block would be DH doing his bit. I am sure that it is not like the old days i.e. cupboard and mag but I think he will still say no. He is a very proud man. Grin.

Duggs thanks for all of the info. I hope you are doing well. I may have to go down IVF route so the prices come in handy. I guess if you did have to transfer another embryo you would't have to pay the 5k and the 2 k or would they just charge you the whole lot and harvest more eggs at the same time. I am praying that you don't have to go down this route and that you have 2 little babies growing each day.

Havingkittens what a bummer. You took your shot after me and started AF before me. I am still clinging on. Smile

eurochick · 10/04/2012 18:15

Abney FET is usually a lot cheaper than a full IVF round. You use fewer or no drugs and don't have egg collection so there is a lot less to it.

Compared to what you would have to go through with IVF (drugs plus needle through fanjo) I would have thought you could persuade him to jizz in a cup! It's not an easy process for either party but I think I can safely say that they have the better of it!

Havingkittens · 10/04/2012 18:32

Yes, abney, I seem to have a rather short luteal phase. Mr S said that 10 days and over is not something to worry about, but I still think it's a bit of a worry. Hey ho... he's the expert. I seem to ovulate at around Day 15/16 and my cycle is about 26 days.

abney, I gave my OH a bit of an earful when he was grumbling about "producing the goods" for his semen analysis. Reminded him of how shit I feel on the drugs every month, for over a year now. How many times I've had surgery/general anasthetic etc. Needle in the stomach, you name it. Honestly, it does make me cross when the menfolk start whining about having to have a wank under less than ideal circumstances. I mean really, my heart bleeds for the poor bastards! If they want to moan about the humiliation they want to have their nethers stared up and poked around with repeatedly month after month.

Abney · 10/04/2012 19:15

Dear all, that's so funny. Tears rolling out of my eyes. If I asked DH I would be able to see the instant 'pain' on his face. Why is that they can do it whenever they feel like it but when it is on demand it is all so different. They would give a wee sample and a number 2 sample so why not a number 3 sample. I am not sure how they collect it perhaps Duggs can help out? Can they do it from home and keep it refrigerated? or do they have to go to the 'office' and do it behind a screen. Grin.

Eurochick what is FET?

snoopygirl · 10/04/2012 20:52

Ha Ha that's funny. Yes, I too think that's the least they could bloody do after what we have to endure!
In fact DH suggested maybe he should get tested. Think he would secretly look forward to the dirty mag and a naughty shuffle in a cupboard Grin

Havingkittens · 10/04/2012 21:33

abney, I take it you haven't read my post a while back when OH had to do his semen analysis.

I phoned up the clinic and asked if he had to deliver the goods at the clinic or get a sample jar and bring it from home. They told me that as long as I could get it there within an hour it would be fine. So, first they sent a courier round with a sample jar. I answered the door, as I was seeing my next door neighbour out at the same time and in front of her, the courier announced he had a sample jar to deliver to Mr Kittens and that it was a "wait and return". How I did laugh! We had made an appointment to bring it in a few days later so I told him he didn't have to wait. Imagine my poor OH having to jizz in a cup whilst the courier waited outside for him! Anyway, on the day of the appointment I got OH out of bed, sent him to the bathroom with his jar and then grabbed it off him, put it in my handbag and got the tube into town with it to deliver it myself. Very funny.

Not sure how it works with IVF but I thought that story might tickle you!

eurochick · 10/04/2012 21:53

Abney FET = frozen embryo transfer. What you were asking duggs about a few posts up.

So far, Mr euro has been able to produce all 3 samples for testing (two for the GP and one for the IVF clinic) at home because we don't live far from the hospital and so can get it there within an hour. But you have to keep it at body temp, not refridgerated. Putting it in a trouser pocket or down your cleavage are methods I have heard of! For our upcoming IUI he would have to produce the goods at the clinic so they are as fresh as possible. It would be the same for IVF. He doesn't seem fazed by it.

snoopygirl · 11/04/2012 11:05

Like ari feel like I need to say it here too Yee haa duggs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so happy for you Smile x

abney anything today?

Pebbles73 · 11/04/2012 13:23

Omg Duggs that is fabulous news!!!! I bet you are in bits!!! Grin It's sooooo hard to wait for the official test date, I always test a couple if days early. So great to see a bfp on here and long may it continue!!!

Abney hate to tell you but it is exactly that at the ivf clinics a small room and some mags! My dh hated the idea of it too but had had to do it a few times now. Apparently the mags at Oxford fertility are better than at Hammersmith! ;) I am currently going through a fet cycle at the moment. You have to down regulate your system with injections for 2 wks so you don't ovulate and then nearly 2wks if oestrogen tablets to thicken your lining and then the lovely cyclogest, clexane injections and pred and then pop the embryos back.! Phew!!

Kittens that made me lol, you are soo right and they have it easy compared to all the crap we go through. My dh has never complained about it after seeing me go through so much.

Abney · 11/04/2012 17:51

Havingkittens oh that's so funny. I bet you was secretly giggling to yourself on the tube at the contents of your bag. Anyone for cheese?

All Bad news is that AF arrived today. AF 1 SO nil. All hope of BFP distingregated in a blink of an eye. I said to DH if he puts in extra effort next time I will give him a bonus. Money of course. It would be worth it to save the scan fees each month.

Duggs big congratulations to you. You must be sooooo excited!

suemays · 12/04/2012 13:58

Just posted on other thread - duggs so pleased for you! Fantastic news!!
So who is next to test?

I am still on my 2 month TTC ban and its going v slowly! I am enjoying the alcohol though and managed to try as many different cocktails on holiday as I could!!

Looks like DH will be away on my next cycle when we can start again - bloody typical so I will end up having a 3 month break from TTC.

Adding my stats:

Duggs pred 7 & SO 4
Pebbles pred 1 & SO 1
Snoopy pred 5 & SO 2
euro pred 5 & SO 3, now on IUI
