duggs1976 · 17/01/2012 22:21

hey ladies,

There are a few of us who are ttc after mc's, however there will be ladies out there who are also ttc for the first time or second or third without success. If anyone is on, considering or had success on a super ovulation programme then do join us. How long did it take ? Did you try IUI with it.. ? Did you have PCOS?

Kicking this off and hoping some of you will join....

Dr S told me that you need to ideally have the FSH etc test done twice as it can change from month to month depending on stress etc. If anyone is having it done make sure that you take the letrozole in the evening after the blood test as it will effect the results. He seems to put everyone on superov regardless of their AMH or FSH results. I guess if you dont fall preg in 6 cycles then you know there is a problem. I am not bothering to have my AMH tested as they cant do anything about it and it will stress me more - at least a high FSH can be lowered with acupuncture and a healthy diet/exercise. My FSH has gone up from 4.9 around 7 months ago to 11.2 so a massive jump. I had the last one when I was going through my chemical pregnancy so that has probably affected it plus I was mega stressed!

Snoopy no point in worrying about whether you caught the egg now I guess. Lets hope you will be fine!

Euro that did make me laugh about the 'pleasurable noises'! Its al so mechanical now isnt it?

Spoke to my acupuncturist today and he said its a good idea to take progesterone in the luteal phase at is helps the cycle for the next month and makes it stronger. I started taking them last night - hate the fall out the next day, it's gross!

Managed to wash my car today with the weather being so lovely, makes me sad though as it's another season starting where I am not pregnant :( does anyone else feel like that?

duggs1976 · 25/02/2012 16:44

Totally sue my rock n roll Saturday involved putting the washing on the line rather than the tumble dryer . . Lovely being outside but hanging my big, fat arse knickers out without the racist of having maternity pants there made me a little sad too Sad but we've got until June and then actions will have to happen x

Opps "racist" meant "excuse" with predictive iPhone text! Bet that one threw all you readers!

sue I am about to start tonight. I'm really not looking forward to it I must say. Where are you in your cycle? I am a couple of days past ov. I wanted to make sure the swi was out of the way first because the pessaries sound a bit icky.

Pebbles73 · 26/02/2012 14:32

Thanks for the advice girls re testing. Have another question for you, I assume the ovitrelle affects the ovulation sticks? I just did one and had the line come up but not sure if that means am going to ov or from the drugs??
Weather has been fab, sorry it made you feel a liitle sad Sue. I do understand what you mean.

Also made me laugh Euro about the noises. :). The fall out from the pessaries is horrible if you use them at the front but ifind at the back you don't get that problem.

Oh can I also ask what pita means on here?

snoopygirl · 26/02/2012 14:51

Morning.........PITA = Pain In The Arse pebblesSmile

I found the pessaries fallout wise just as gross at the back. But I am going to do them from tonight I think. Dr S seemed fine with that. but as someone said on here they could delay period but spose if no BFP then will stop them as soon as.

Pebbles73 · 26/02/2012 15:12

Ah thanks for clearing that up, should have managed to work it out myself!! Blush

Thats funny re fall out at the back, I don't get any.

The progesterone dies indeed delay your period. I was taking it when I had my chemical so had no idea until I went for a scan and nothing there as no bleeding.

snoopygirl · 26/02/2012 15:34

i suppose that's the PITA Smile bit about it. But I figure I would rather do it for a bit to help.

snoopygirl · 26/02/2012 18:13

Can't believe that pebbles sounds like some comedy sketch. She certainly didn't sound very apologetic! Hope your not too battered!!

snoopygirl · 26/02/2012 18:41

Posting all over the place here! meant to put that on regular board Grin

Pebbles73 · 26/02/2012 18:43

It was Snoopy! :)

It's easy to forgot what you have posted where!

Havingkittens · 27/02/2012 11:24

Hello, sorry, a fleeting post from me as I don't seem to get much time to read and catch up here at the moment.

Can I ask where you lot get your Ovitrelle from please? Mr S told me that Central Homecare do it for £20 but I've just called up to arrange delivery and it's £34 (they have to charge for delivery on top of the cost). Are there any cheaper sources?

snoopygirl · 27/02/2012 13:33

Sorry kittens i can't help as somehow I am getting it on NHS. But one of the others may be able to advise.

jaffajiffy · 27/02/2012 13:41

Hi kittens it is £34 with them; you're right. Mr S was referring to the before delivery charge. I got them to send it to nlc for me and they said they would 'just this once' send it with no delivery charge. So I'm resigned to £34 next time. Annoying.

snoopygirl · 27/02/2012 16:42

Good tip re the ovitrelle in system and to test at 6/7 euro. remember duggs had issues with that on I think was it her first cycle thinking she had a positive.
I tested this morning and their was still a faint line after having jab on thursday. So spose leave few days and just check again.

duggs1976 · 27/02/2012 19:10

Asda! Hadn't been to asda in years but sue said and is £20 from asda Grin

OP posts:
Pebbles73 · 27/02/2012 21:24

Had a message from Homecare so think Mr S had automatically sent my ovitrelle prescription to them. I wanted to get it from Asda though after the tip from Sue & Duggs. I wonder if I contact Louise they would send me a prescription instead as don't want to pay the £15 delivery......

Havingkittens · 27/02/2012 21:26

Oh, I'll have to get my next lot there when I get my next batch of Letrozole there (she said pessimistically!). Don't they have to store it on ice though? Do they do that in Asda? Do they keep it with the frozen oven chips? Grin

I had my second follicle tracking scan today as the one last Thursday was too early. My lining is apparently good, which is nice to know. I only have one large ripe follicle, with one smaller one which they said might release later although I have no idea whether they mean later this cycle, or just later (in my life?). Mr S is going to up my Letrozole to 7.5mg if I don't get a BFP this month.

Do we have any Super Ovulation success stories yet?

duggs1976 · 28/02/2012 06:19

kittens is in asda pharmacy and chilled. No success stories on our thread but we r too new. I've done 3 cycles ( 1 I converted to IUI) and still nothing but it has helped me pin point that my eggs must be an issue ( trisomy mc too). So whatever outcome it helps give us more info. Apparently most success happens on cycles 4,5,6. I should give those a go really but i want CGH for chromosonal selection bc of my history. I guess u need to decide how many months u r willing to try. My last few had "text book" lining and follicle sizes of 2 or 3 so not much more I was working toward. I'm hoping one of us gets a bfp soon on here. Smile

OP posts:
jaffajiffy · 28/02/2012 08:03

No, no bfp success stories, though I am happy that the treatment seems to be working. My first scan showed one measly follicle that wasn't much use, and over the treatment I've seen much progress with real hope of pg each cycle. I'm nearly finished my 5th cycle and had three good follicles - the best yet. I will tell you on Thursday whether it's a bfp. I have various symptoms but have been warned that the drugs cause them, so I'm officially Not Taking Any Notice until day 28 when I will test and let you know. I have one posh pg test and threw away the cheapies (which make it 1000% more likely to test too early) so I'm exercising self control until thurs. Is sue similar timing?

How's everyone doing on the SWI front?

Fingers, legs, toes, eyes crossed for all of us. Well, no leg crossing for those of you in the 'intercourse' phase Wink

snoopygirl · 28/02/2012 09:14

kittens have they asked you to do Ovitrelle shot this month then?

pebbles when are you testing, is it next week?

Havingkittens · 28/02/2012 09:33

Ah, good to know about Asda. That is, if I have time on the day or so between possible BFN and CD2 to get to the other side of town as my local (and that's not even that local) Asda doesn't have a pharmacy.

I'm on "making love" duty for the next 3 days. That phrase always makes me cringe. Just waiting for my Ovitrelle delivery now and dreading injecting myself. I've been watching Youtube videos on how to do it. My OH offered to do it but he has a needle phobia. It will be a bit redundant if he faints halfway through giving me the injection and doesn't have the strength to fulfill his rather more important role in the process.

duggs - bear in mind that your trisomy pregnancy may very well have been "spontaneous", as Mr S referred to mine. More often than not they are caused by a freak happening when that one sperm and egg meet. Did they do karyotyping tests on that m/c? If so, they would've told you the likelihood of it happening again. I had two trisomy pregnancies, not miscarriages though so they were sent off for full testing. The results came back that they were both "just terribly bad luck" (even more so for happening twice in a row, which is pretty rare) and that there was nothing in either of our DNA that indicate that we were predisposed to these problems. I suspect that may be the case with you too, so there is hope for you that this wasn't down to having bad eggs.

Pebbles73 · 28/02/2012 13:24

Snoopy I am swi yesterday and today so I am thinking will test 14 days from tomorrow assuming I ovulate today. Had a line on my ovulations stick for last two days so assuming the ovitrelle is actually causing that. How many dpo are you testing?

Had very bad stomach ache last night, very low down accross my stomach. I know Euro was saying her stomach was very tender. Wonder if I am ovulating an elephant egg......... ;)

Keeping fingers crossed for everyone and good luck for Thursday Jaffa.

Havingkittens · 28/02/2012 13:58

snoopy, yes, I've just done my Ovitrelle shot. The man turned up with the box and I felt sick and really nervous about doing it. Then I did it and it didn't hurt in the slightest Grin - phew! I only have one ripe follicle though. OH has suggested we should SWI twice a day to "get our money's worth". Best not make any social plans then!

So, I'm supposed to start the Pred on Thursday. It was so nice to have the month off last month, I'm not looking forward to going back on it. Also meant to start the Cyclogest any time from now. I'm wondering if I should wait until after the SWI though, won't it get a bit messy?

snoopygirl · 28/02/2012 14:05

Pebbles only about 4 assuming I ovd friday last week. Well that's what it felt like anyway, it could have been sat..whose knows what's going on in there! I also had low back and tummy ache but not too uncomfortable. and then quite a localised pain in left hand side on sat (was that my follicle rupturing and on it's way!? Grin. Can't believe I've gotten into all this talk about linings eggs, and follicles bursting mad!

yes come on girls good luck jaffa & Sue. i think it's euro, me & pebbles in that order next week?

duggs what happens with your appointment tomorrow? what's the plan? Are you and DH excited?
