duggs1976 · 17/01/2012 22:21

hey ladies,

There are a few of us who are ttc after mc's, however there will be ladies out there who are also ttc for the first time or second or third without success. If anyone is on, considering or had success on a super ovulation programme then do join us. How long did it take ? Did you try IUI with it.. ? Did you have PCOS?

Kicking this off and hoping some of you will join....

That should say the mcs could be the difference, not the scans. And I'm not even drinking at the moment!

Have a lovely time at the meet up tomorrow!

Hey ladies it was lovely to see you today. Pebbles glad you didn't chicken out! Think I am def OVing now as have cramps on my left (thats the side my dominant follicles were).
Good luck with the scans this week fellow superOVers!

Duggs have you decided on what to do about the letrozole - did you take it tonight?

snoopygirl · 19/02/2012 20:25

Hi all yes thanks for a lovely afternoon and the laughs! (particularly the Dr's hairy wife!Smile

duggs if you haven't make a decision yet on letrozole the txt copied from an ivf site is interesting.......

Clomiphene or letrozole stimulated cycles are not unlike normal cycles in that there is only a 20-25% chance of conception occurring each cycle during the first three to four treatment cycles, even if the medication is working properly. (Results may be lower with unexplained infertility.) This means that at least four to six cycles of treatment are necessary before one has given either medication an adequate trial. Recent studies indicate that if a pregnancy occurs as a result of the clomiphene/letrozole treatment, there is no clinically significant increased risk of miscarriage or congenital birth defects when compared to other infertile couples who conceived without clomiphene/letrozole treatment. However, women with polycystic ovary syndrome may be at higher risk for miscarriage during a pregnancy conceived using either of these medications.

Hope you've dragged DH out of pub sue and he's ready for action!

pebbles good luck for fri and I'll post my news on thurs.
dunnit good luck for your scan fri too

duggs1976 · 20/02/2012 10:29

Thanks snoopy! DH is so fed up he would probably sell his mother to fund the potential end of this - so am IVF abd CGH queen. Is a long process with potential egg collection mid march and then replacing mid may so in time for my June deadline Wink I can keep folk posted from an interest perspective if you all like? Smile if it fails then I can still go back to super ov

Good Luck duggs really hope this works for you. Like i said you have time on your side but can understand wanting to get your result asap as this is all consuming and it would be so nice to stop stressing over this and just get on with life!
Definitley keep us informed x

After saying I felt fine on Letrozole yesterday, I feel like I need matchsticks to keep eyes open at moment. At least these drugs are over with pretty quick.

Pebbles73 · 20/02/2012 13:10

Hi all- was really nice to meet you all yesterday and was great to be able to chat awyaabout this stuff without boring somebody to tears! Snoopy I also thought very funny tothink of his wife as very hairy with a fat face!! :)
Was a bit concerned about people with pcos being more likey to miscarry on this treatment, hoping the metformin counteracts this. Always so much to worry about, I think actually having children should be a breeze after all of this.
Fingers crossed we have good scans.

Hey Duggs can I ask why if they take the eggs out in March they don't put them back until May??

Sue am glad I din't wither and hope you are busy swi!

Pebbles73 · 20/02/2012 13:11

Sorry Sue that should have read glad I didn't either!!

jaffajiffy · 20/02/2012 14:10

Hi all and I'm so sorry I couldn't make it yesterday. I would have loved to have met you all. But the holiday is luverly. I'm sunburned and relaxed, and it's been ages since either of those.

Last wed I saw mr S for the mid-cycle scan. It's my 5th cycle, and my body performed as required. I had three follicles, so that's all good. I'm hoping a week in the sun will take care of one mentalling week and then I'll only have one psycho week back in London. What fun for DH!

sue I'm so pleased it's working for you now!

duggs you are just getting on with it, hey? It's very interesting for me as it would be the next step. Having had two mc I just never thought I'd have to consider ivf, but obviously if this cycle doesn't work AND the next cycle is too stressed to conceive with it being the last one, then I'll have to think about it. You're very brave. Having such a mental time on super ov drugs, I'm especially interested if the ivf drugs make you a super psycho. I don't think my marriage would survive my being much worse than I am during pmt now.

Right, must reapply sun screen....

snoopygirl · 20/02/2012 14:43

Sorry pebbles didn't mean to alarm you with that post and the copy from ivf site. Just wanted to show duggs what it said about the Letrozole and giving it at least 4-6 cycles. Obviously she just wants to get on with things so that's fine. My friends SIL is 16 pregnant and she was on Metfomin for PCOS's so I'm sure that it takes care of that.

jaffa where are you again? sounds nice wherever it is Smile

duggs1976 · 20/02/2012 17:29

Yeah pebbles PCOS people always at higher mc rate anyway that is why being on metformin before and through early part of pregnancy is advised. Digi has PCOS and look at her!

OP posts:
Pebbles73 · 20/02/2012 18:16

Don't worry Snoopy! I know the pcos gives you higher chance of miscarriage but as Duggs said the metformin should counteract that.

jaffa hope you are having a lovely brek and good luck for this cycle. Btw the ivf drugs aren't too bad, makes you a bit emotional but my dh said I wasn't too bad. :)

jaffajiffy · 21/02/2012 08:56

Glad to hear, pebbles. We haven't started looking at ivf but moods would be a huge factor. I think I'd have to quit work or something.
I'm in dahab in Egypt. It's blue skies and sun without fail every day.

duggs1976 · 21/02/2012 11:01

Oh Jaffa DH has just booked us a week there in April ! Bit of a hippy diving vibe can't wait Grin any recommendations most welcome

OP posts:
eurochick · 21/02/2012 11:18

Don't tell me that about the met. I'm not on it. :(

duggs I've stayed just along the coast from there in Taba Heights. In fact, that is where I learned to dive. The sealife is amazing round there.

jaffajiffy · 21/02/2012 13:41

Definitely Ali baba for dinner. Trip advisor says it's the best, and it's really good. Buy your beer at Neptune supermarket and bring it along! We are staying at Le Meridien which is lovely too, but there are loads of nice places.

duggs1976 · 21/02/2012 13:51

Lovely a bit of travel recommendation thrown in amongst the cervical mucus and flatulence talk! We know how to keep things real ladies Wink

snoopygirl · 21/02/2012 13:55

Can I just ask.....when I have my follicle scan on Thurs, what happens if there are not the correct amount? Obviously you don't do the trigger shot, but can you still get on and ttc normally (well if there are only 1/2 say obv not 4 or something or their too big).

eurochick · 21/02/2012 13:56

It nice to have a reminder that there is life outside ttc!
