apologies for all the mistakes - it's Friday and I forget to preview Grin

festiemum · 13/01/2012 07:43

Hi all,

Sorry to hear your dh won't play ball on the testing front, kitchen. I understand that fear of something being wrong, but surely it's better to know. I think there are male things we'll never understand. I'm sure they say the same about women!

Love the idea of your right ovary spluttering into life disco - hope it is!

Well, ff removed my crosshairs today, and decided I hadn't oved after all (smug emotion anyone?) I was expecting a temp shift today - my batter dried up and cp went low yestday, but no cigar. Hope it happens tomorrow, and I'm not back in anovulatory land.

Have a good day all! :)

festiemum · 13/01/2012 07:50

Hey lil - you due on monday? Those last few days of the 2ww seem to take forever, don't they?! Fx for good news next week, and hope you find fun things to take your mind off it this weekend.

It's a kid-free weekend for us, so dh and I are off to Truro, which for us is bright lights, big city (our village only has 20 ish houses!). Looking forward to shops and nice lunch!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 13/01/2012 08:14

Bloody FF festie i don't trust it at all!!! I double your smug emoticon!! If FF even thinks about removing my cross hairs then stern words will be had!! On the other hand, if I have ov'd and do end up pg, I will be sending smug emoticons to them for completely different reasons!! How dare they presume to know what our bodies are doing.

Oooh Truro sounds lovely, hope you have a very enjoyable and relaxing weekend :) I hope your temp rises tomorrow, how far into the 2ww would you be? Have you only just ov'd? Sometimes you can have fallbacks at around 2DPO (something to do with a sudden surge in estrogen before the progesterone takes over). If this is the case, FF will remove the crosshairs but should reinstate them once a further rise is seen!! Hope this is the case for you!

Lil sometimes no symptoms can actually be a symptom. What DPO are you? Despite all my best efforts at SSing, I am a firm believer that most of what I am feeling is just coincendence and that real symptoms will not be noticed until implantation has occured. Even though I have been having unusual things happening, if I think about it all realistically, most can be explained away. For example, the cramping could be from my IBS or from ov. My heartburn could have been caused by the chinese i ate last night. I am more tired, but it's the first full week back after Xmas, so was to be expected! The only thing I can't logically explain is the breast tenderness (unless DH has been inadvertendly kicking me in the tits at night!!!)

Kitchen my DH also needs to do a SA and it has been nearly 2 weeks and the pot is still lying empty on the kitchen table. Tsk.....men!! What gets me is that fact that it's ok for us to go and be tested for this, that and the other, have things shoved here, there and everywhere, but encourage a man to actually pleasure himself and they get a big strop on!! We know it's not pleasant, there is probably nothing wrong, so man up and lets move things forward. I can't have my HSG until they are certain that the problem does not also lie with him!! And I can imagine that it's equally as frustrating for you!! I think it's some macho image thing that they think that nothing could possibly be wrong with them!!!

Right, sorry for the essay!! Lots to discuss there though Grin

festiemum · 13/01/2012 10:18

I'd agree with you moo if I'd actually had a fallback, but my temps have pretty much stayed on a level since the (smallish) rise I had a few days ago! So why ff has suddenly changed its mind I don't know.

chart here - may have oved a couple of days ago, may be about to ov! Will just have to keep up the SWI till something more conclusive happens. Of course, I may have geared up to ov and then not cos of all the residual stress left over from dd's emergency hospital visit last week! Oh for a quiet stress free life! Enough already!

Men and their willies eh?! What can you do?! :o

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 13/01/2012 10:54

I'll be honest with you festie I am not quite sure why FF has removed the crosshairs! Your temp has not dropped, it's consistent and above the other temps, so makes no sense at all! On 6dpo today and if FF even thinks about removing those lines I will be one angry lady!!

As you say though, it could be that your body tried to ov but then the stress has pushed it back slightly! Hope that your DD is feeling better and that you are able to de-stress over the weekend!! After everything you have been through you definitely deserve some good luck!! FF is just a machine, but I think you are being sensible in SWI EOD until you are absolutely 110% certain that you have ov'd.

We actually only managed to dtd the day before ov and I am not convinced that it will be enough; if DH even thinks of coming near me with my sore and burning breasts though he will get a swift kick in his crown jewels!!

festiemum · 13/01/2012 11:11

Sore boobs though - only the biggest sign of early pregnancy! I have everything crossed for you moo (except my legs obviously, will need them to be open later! :o)

Hmm, the mysteries of ff eh? When I change my settings to research it has me oving on day 13 so who knows?! All I can do is keep up the SWI until my temp does something dramatic or af arrives!

The day before ov is a prime time to conceive as well you know, it's just that horrible old waiting game now. Do you have any clue what sort of length your lp is?

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 13/01/2012 11:29

I have seen a lot of charts where the woman has overriden FF and turned out to be both very much in the 2ww and very pg, so I would suggest monitoring temps over the next couple of days and if needs be, adjusting it yourself! At the end of the day, you know your body better than anyone and if the other signs are pointing towards ov then something must have occurred!!!

Have no idea what my LP is; thought it might have been 10 days but as my last 2 cycles were anovultory it's just guess work. FF suggests to wait and test until 18DPO (day before my birthday!!) but i will have caved in well before then! If i get even the slightest hint of an implantation dip between now and 10dpo then I will probably wait to test at about 11 or 12 (that's if FF let's me get that far!!).

I am trying not to be too excited about the booby soreness and temp rises just in case it all comes to nothing and my temps crash! I have been in the 2ww once before and at about 9dpo FF removed my crosshairs. This is the first time I have seen the crosshairs since then (that was back in September as well!).

Don't know why, but just have a really good feeling about this month!!! Grin

festiemum · 13/01/2012 12:02

But having just had a snootle at your chart moo, it looks wonderful! If you compare it to your last couple it's showing definite ov trends. I think you're right to have a good feeling about this month! :o

I think you're right about ff, it's simply a useful tool, but at the end of the day, we know our bodies. It's useful to think I haven't oved yet though, stops me SS and being generally obsessive!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 13/01/2012 13:01

Thanks festie you don't know how long I have dreamt of someone saying that my chart looks wonderful!! Oh crikey, i really hope that this is the month for us all!! My (o) (o) are soooo sore that I am tempted to test now but i know at 6DPO it's highly unlikely that any eggy has implanted at all so must be patient and think of other things!!!

Notinmykitchen · 13/01/2012 17:14

Hi all,

I think the reason DH won't get tested is because he was somewhat reluctant to TTC#2 in the first place. When we first got together he already had two DC's and we agreed we would have one more. Unfortunately I didn't expect to love being a Mum so much, and after having DS I fought with myself for ages, trying to be happy with what I had, and get over the desire for another one.

Eventually I realised it wasn't going to go away, and told DH how I was feeling. He made it clear he did not want another one, but having heard how I felt, said he would consider it, which he did, for a month, during which time I didn't mention it. He eventually decided we could go for it. I was soooo grateful. So here we are. It has not happened so far, and DH has been fine about having to go the extra mile sometimes when it was "that" time of my cycle and I needed his input. I think the idea of getting tested, and potentially going through fertility treatment is just a step too far for him! I haven't pushed it. I think if I really tried I could persuade him, but to be honest I understand his reasons, and part of me thinks we are better off focussing on enjoying what we have, and cutting our losses. I am still hoping it is just taking a bit of time as we are both that bit older now. I am also trying to adopt the mindset that I would love another one, but if it doesn't happen I will be happy that we have tried, and it is just not meant to be, mostly I even succeed.

Apologies that was a bit of a mind dump, I started typing, and it all came out! Blush

Moo hope your DH does his bit soon! I am absolutely sure you have ov'd! I read somewhere that sore boobs are caused by the increase in progesterone levels after ovulation. So it may or may not be a pregnancy symptom, but it is almost certainly IMHO a sign that you have ov'd!

Liliana you certainly don't sound bonkers or if you are I am too I know what you mean about getting into a rhythm of it! The temp continuing to rise, coming after the dip you had is sounding very positive! Fingers toes, and everything (except the obvious) crossed!!!!! Have you and your DH discussed when you might look at getting tested? I seem to recall you have been trying a while?

*Festie" I am feeling smug on your behalf, you clearly know your body better than FF! I wonder if there is something in the theory that ov could have been delayed due to extreme stress. Hopefully if so it will happen soon now things have settled down again, although looking at your chart, it does look like it has already happened, very confusing! I think you have it right, the only way to be sure is to carry on SWI'ing for the duration! Enjoy Truro, I used to live near there as a kid.

I hope everyone else is feeling OK, and AF is keeping her distance!

Rusulka · 13/01/2012 18:27

Evening ladies, popping in since I miss you!

Festie and Moo FX for this cycle. If it makes you feel any better, that interfering smug bitch FF made my crosshairs all dotty the month I conceived. It was most pleasing to wipe the smug grin off her electronic face with that positive test. AND my only symptom was f*cking sore boobs. Every morning I've been waking up feeling like DH has probably elbowed me in them...

Having a bit of a scare at the mo, at 6+3 started brown spotting, which got worse yesterday, got in @ doctors, who has faxed my details through to EPU, and I've been on the sofa waited on hand and foot by MiL [punching sky emoticon] while I wait for them to ring. So far they've not bothered, so I'm totally ringing on Monday to tear them a new one, lol.
It hasn't got any worse, but it's hard to feel positive.

Sorry to dump this on you on the wrong thread- I have joined another one for Sept due dates, but IT'S JUST NOT THE BLOODY SAME WITHOUT YOU! Sad

Keeping my fingers and everything else, including legs, crossed for all of you.

Discolite · 13/01/2012 20:32

Rusulka I do hope the spotting stops. I know that you know it's very common to spot in early pregnancy but I also know if I were in your shoes I would also be bricking it. Sorry, a lot of knows and alsos in that sentence but hopefully that doesn't detract from the sentiment.

Mooley FF is an idiot, how can you have sore boobs and NOT have ovulated?! I hope your DH gets down to the task in hand (ahem) soon! I used to work in a hospital lab and we did semen analyses (I didn't get trained how to do it otherwise I'd've borrowed the school microscope long ago). One of my colleagues was rather prissy and insisted on wearing two pairs of nitrile gloves before she'd go anywhere near the sample bottle!

Festie I reckon you ovved on CD12 - and I also think that if you erm, re-wrote history and lowered the temp on CD11 that FF might reinstate the crosshairs. Do you have any other 2ww symptoms like hurty boobs?

Lil I hope you have a nice restful weekend to make up for your horrible busy week. I know what you mean about the cyclical nature of TTC - it's kind of like the year in a nutshell! How far can I carry this analogy?

Ok, autumn/winter is clearly when AF is in attendance as you feel a bit grumpy, crave hot water bottles and just want to hibernate and eat stodge. Spring is in the run up to ovulation, when you feel bright and hopeful and about to lay an egg (sorry) and summer is the 2ww - it feels like when you have the six week school holiday stretching out before you, i.e. endless!

Kitchen I can understand your reasons for not pressuring him. It's a lot to ask of a person who isn't really that keen on having another child. Maybe one day he'll suprise you by doing it of his own accord.

Well, in Discoland we're excited about going to choose our puppy! For those who asked earlier it's an F2 Labradoodle (I like hybrid vigour in a dog myself) and I'm hoping some of the blonde/apricot pups are left. The thought of getting up in the night to let it out to go to the loo doesn't appeal much but may be useful training Wink

Notinmykitchen · 13/01/2012 21:02

Rusulka nice to "see" you! Glad to hear you are being well looked after. Try not to worry too much about the spotting, I had it twice with DS, at about 7 weeks, and again at about 11. It is difficult not to freak out cos its really not what you want to see but as Disco says it is really common, and usually means nothing!

Disco when are you going to choose the puppy? I am slightly jealous, I have a cat but its just not the same! I miss my dog!

Relaxbaby · 13/01/2012 22:02

Hi ladies, just popped on to say have a wonderful weekend everyone. Am not feeling very positive at the moment. Don't want to drag the thread down however just wanted to say hi. x

Discolite · 13/01/2012 22:03

Kitchen we are going on Sunday! Whoop! I have a cat too who I love dearly but he's a bit of a div (purrs so loudly you have to turn the tv up, goes up chimneys, generally acts like a loony). As DP said 'It's worth getting a dog just to see the look on the cat's face' Grin. I suspect the cat will end up being the boss of the dog but I hope they'll be friends. The cat likes playing so that may be a good sign.

Right, going to have to physically wrench myself away from Mumsnet!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 13/01/2012 23:49

Ooooooh disco, we have a labradoodle called Oscar!! He's fab!! Good choice!!! Lovely temperament!!

Rusulka sorry to hear your having a rough time but glad you are being looked after!! I too have heard that spotting in early pregnancy is quite common, but understand why you would be concerned!! Hope it comes to a swift end!! Oooooh sorely boobs was your main sign.....interesting Hmm when did they first start getting sore? Mine are horrendous feel like I've been kicked repeatedly!!

Just been to see War Horse!! What a fantastic film but I will never see it again!!!

Countmyblessings · 14/01/2012 00:05

festiemum · 14/01/2012 09:43

Oh count, I'm sorry to hear about your friend. When is/was af due? Maybe retest with a frer or Superdrug if she doesn't show? Brew or Wine for you, whichever you prefer! Xx

rusulka you must be so worried, but I'm another one who had spotting at 6 wks and 11 wks with dd1 - she's a strapping 8 yo now! Really hope you can get into the epu and get a scan to put your mind at rest! Brew for you too, but no Wine!

Oh disco - labradoodles are the best! I am an uber doggy person ( have two mad collie-crosses and visitation rights to a whippet!) Bet you're excited about picking him/her up! No sore boobs here, but my boobs aren't affected by anything these days. I think it's the result of 6 years combined breastfeeding! (2 years per child, I hasten to add!)

Still none the wiser with my chart. No crosshairs still and temp went up another 0.3 of a degree, so it's looking very ovulatory here! The question is when?! I'm thinking of opening a book, though there's no prize except the smug knowledge that you were right. So what do we think ladies?! my chart

Have a great weekend all! I'll be sure to send Truro your regards, kitchen :o

festiemum · 14/01/2012 09:51

Hmm, for some reason, my chart comes up in centigrade - it doesn't look like such an impressive shift in centigrade! (I temp in Fahrenheit!) Ho hum!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 14/01/2012 10:02

Festie I stand by my original thoughts that ov was CD12! I'm wondering if FF is uncertain because there were a couple of days where you didn't temp! Could you have a play around with the missed temps to see if that makes a difference and if it does then maybe override the system?

Hope you have a fab time in Truro!

Well I'm not sure what to think! Boobies don't seem as sorely today but I am frightfully tired and have some very mild cramps! A turtle showed CP to be low and soft (almost mushy) but Im sure it's still open!! Am driving myself crazy!!!

Lil how are your temps looking today? You must be close to testing soon!!

Rusulka hope things are better for you today!

Count sorry that your friend is going through a tough time! You are being very brave and strong!! When is AF due? What DPO are you?

There's got to be a rush on here soon, I can feel it in my waters!!!

Liliana1 · 14/01/2012 10:09

Rusulka I'm so sorry to hear about the spotting. I'm sure everything will be ok and you know we're always here for you. Enjoy being waited on and let us know when somebody does something bloody useful!

Count thinking about you, are you temping? Does ff shed any light? Sorry about your friend too, that must have brought back some horrible memories. I hope thigs do pick up and you get your BFP soon. Remember being emotional is a pg sign!

Moo why won't you see it again? How are your temps doing this am? Sore udders is def a good sign , esp if they are that sore!

Disco hope you find the perfect pup!

festie i love that i can have no symptoms as a symptom!!

Rusulka · 14/01/2012 10:24

Hey ladies! (how I've missed this thread...)

Things much the same today, bit less than yesterday, but I did only just get up, so not surprising.

Moo in November's cycle I had sore boobs towards the end, which is completely bizarre for me, but AF still showed, and then in December, erm. OH! I'm such a tit. I can check FF. Div alert. Hang on... sore boobage from 8dpo onwards.

Trying to be positive today, and just have a good weekend, since I've been abandoned to worry for the entirety. Not impressed with maternity services so far! Grump grump. DH thinks it's due to the surge of drunken Christmas party babies clogging up the system, lol.

7 weeks tomorrow, halfway between a jellybean and a cooked prawn, if it's still ok down there.

(secretly thinking the sex we had 2 days in a row a few days ago caused the problem, think I'll have to apologise.)

Hang on in there ladies, it will happen for all of you sooner or later. I was calculating earlier- it took us 6 months. But of those 6 months, SOMETHING happened cycle 1 but went wrong, and of the remaining 5, 1 of them we didn't have our act together at all, so that leaves a 1 in 4 chance, which we managed, and that's supposed to be the chances for a normal couple with no health issues- I'm definitely overweight, nearly 31, and DH has those funny balls mentioned much much earlier in another thread, so POO! to statistics.

Disco, dog-getting sounds exciting. DH is terrified of dogs. I always wanted a harlequin great dane, but I expect I'll have to stick with my preferred choice of house animal, which is rats. They are gorgeous and make perfect pets for kids. Just as clever as dogs, more sociable than hamsters, and just as easy to clean out. Plus they sit on your shoulder or sleep in your bra if they're tired. Wah, I miss my rats.
Well, will be buying some as soon as I can get away with it.

Miss you!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 14/01/2012 10:43

lil won't see it again because it was an emotional roller coaster, very traumatic and I don't think I could put myself through it again!! Fantastic film though, blubbered like a baby for most of it (feel a bit emotional now just thinking of it!) really well acted and directed (expect nothing less from Mr. Spielberg though!) but yes, just too much! I did nearly walk out of the cinema at one point because I didn't think I could take much more!! Heartbreaking!! I don't want to give too much away in case anyone wants to see it!!

Temps are still way above coverline, chart is here if anyone wants to have a gander! Udders just don't seem to be as bad today! It has been replaced with irritability instead, much to the dismay of DH who actually accused me of having mood swings how very dare he!!

Rusulka please hang around, we've missed you :)

Notinmykitchen · 14/01/2012 11:02

Hi all, I'm off now, see you in a week! Hopefully I will come back to lots of bfp's!Wink
