It's looking good baby defintely on the way to being triphasic!!! Your dip at 7 or 9 DPO could have been implantation, but it can happen as late as 12, when you had another mini dip!! How long is your LP?? More importantly, when are you going to test???

hi moo, what is lp? oh luteal, I think 14 days. I have only just started temping so no idea really.

I just read about triphasic. The only symptom I've been haivng is sore boobs but I have them all them time towards the last 2 weeks of cycle!

I don't actually know when to test. When would you say? Day 28 is tomz. Hadnt realised I was so far along! dumbo! lol

The main problem is we've only dtd a couple of times so can sperm last very long? We were away for a week, then came back, had burst water pipe, had HSG xray etc etc so barely done it! Trying to not get too excited however trying to be positive too.

In the right conditions, sperm can last up to 5 days; the general trend is between 3 and 5 days i think. As long as you had sex at least 3 days before you ov'd then you are in with a good chance.

When is AF due? I would recommend not testing until either AF is late or 18 days after you ovulated!!!

Festie that sounds really scary with your daughter, glad she's alright now though. I second Moo in saying keep dtd until you are sure you have ovulated, fertility friend can only do so much with it's logarithims. I've overridden ovulation dates before when they don't tie in with my other symptoms (sore nipples ahoy).

The doctor was much less grumpy this time than last time. He says my blood tests were all normal (phew) but is still taking my spotting seriously. He is getting the nurse to do swabs (for chlamydia - why do all doctors want to test me for chlamydia - I've been tested about 6 times in the last 7 years! All negative!) and is coming in to have a turtle at the same time as the nurse does her thing. He clearly has a problem of distaste with female genitalia though from the way he was talking - I'm amazed he managed to bring himself to father his children! Still, he'll then refer me to a gynaecologist after the swabs.

I'm not even that worried about the spotting anymore tbh, there was a thread a little while ago about spotting and lots of women who were under consultant care said their consultant didn't seem too worried about it. Hmm.

A question for you all - I was wondering if it was a sensible idea for DP to ask to have a semen analysis done (if things don't work out this month) as we'll have been TTC for 7 months then. Time is on my side (I'm 31), but he's 50 and obviously we really want to conceive asap so he isn't too much older (especially as we would like two if possible). Any thoughts?

Hi disco, yes, am surprised your doc hasn't already said to get a SA Done. I think they need it at the fertility clinic anyway. Just send him
To the docs if poss and then they do their thing. That's what my hubby did and we got a copy of the results for the consultant. I think if it's normal then they can concentrate on you. ate you doing an ov tests? Temping? Etc?

Am trying to stay positive, however don't have a good feeling. :-(

Sorry i have been cramping for the last few days and feel so totally sick!
so i re counted and noticed im actually due AF tomorrow!!!!!! and so not holding out that i made it this time around, but will see maybe or maybe another shift in my cycle again?????????????

Right I am a bit peed off with FF! I was little concerned that my first temp after potential ov might not be accurate because of the hour delay in temping, so I thought I'd ask one of the FF guides for some advice......wish I hadnt bothered now! Early in my cycle (CD3 & CD5) I discarded two temps that we're ridiculously high because I had drank in excess the night before! She has looked at my chart, added these temps back in and is now saying that she's not convinced I ov'd! I am gutted! I was only enquiring as to whether my 1DPO temp could be accurate, was not expecting that! Just feel deflated and that all my hopes have been dashed! She says you shouldn't discard abnormal temps but then why have that option??? :(

Disco I would def get a SA, if only to put your mind at rest! My DH is 30 and he's doing one!! With this TTC lark you just never know what to think!!

Gutted Moo but then she is only doing another data analysis and in honesty doesn't know any more than the ff does so it's just another opinion, she doesn't really know what is going on.

Are you going to test tomorrow count? Getting my cheers ready for when the rush of BFP's come along.

Disco* glad that things seem ok, I would get any test done you can! The more they rule out the less things to do later if it doesn't happen and the more you put your mind at rest.

Festie so sorry to hear about your DD, it must have been really scary, hope that the preventative one stops that happening again. I'll add onto the list saying keep dtd, esp as you still have fertile cm - trust nothing until you get you bfp!

I have a luteal phase of 14 days (sorry forgot who asked). Today I have had random stabbing pains in one boob?!?!? Just the one! Put me right off in the depressing meeting I was in fantasing about pg symptoms and getting a BFP! Much more entertaining but must stay realistic. Will see what temp tomorrow brings. Right must get marking, haev a nice eve all

Moo - do you have other charts you could compare too? There is a layerin tool on there so you could layer a few months for an idea? Also if you doing ov sticks? I guess she jsut jas to say what sh thinks, or what the software says, you know yourself and you have other signs like ecwm too?

Ah thanks guys sorry for the rant just feeling a bit frustrated and worked up!! Have left chart as showing ov because all signs do point to it!! I wasn't going to temp after drinking so I'm going with the proviso that I missed that day out!! Will see what temps do over the next few days!!

baby my last 2 cycles have been anovulatory and long, one 62 days one 77 days so I don't think they'll be much use as my charts were all over the place. Can't do ov sticks because of PCOS and the amount of LH I have means they are not accurate enough!!

I'm pretty sure she's talking bollocks moo. If you consult the charting bible; Weschler says that outlying temps such as the ones you get after a night on the pop should go by the "rule of thumb", i.e. you disregard them when working out ov etc.

And as you say, all your other signs point to ov anyway. I feel a bit disenfranchised with ff at the mo anyway, as you know. Dh (who is highly cynical) reckons it's in their interest to get it slightly wrong so we don't all get pg and stop paying our subs! I said that was appalling and unlikely, but he reckoned it was basic marketing!

Anyway, I'm being highly proactive and keeping up the SWI EOD til cd20 at least, just to be sure!

Oh and dd is doing really well, thanks to all that asked. We're gradually reducing her reliever inhaler and she's responded really well! :)

Big rise back up this am so now have a pretty dip in the middle of my LP!!!

Morning ladies! Thanks for listening to me rant yesterday. Feeling a bit calmer today, especially as my temp is continuing to rise.

Ooooh Lil sounds both exciting and promising. What DPO are you? Have you got symptoms to spot yet? When are you planning on testing?

My cramping seems to have eased off for now, was horrendous last night to the point where i had to take myself off to bed; felt like crying! Just the odd twinge now though. Turtling has revealed that my CP is high and medium (both in texture and opening) and my CM is really creamy!!! Only 5DPO so far too early for symptoms but you just never know. I have been looking at pg charts and there are quite a few that do not show an implantation dip at all and one where a woman got her BFP at 6DPO

Festie yes i agree that she was not being very helpful at all - we all know that TTC is not an exact science and that literally anything goes, but i wasn't asking her to go about changing my chart because she did not seem to think it fitted in her ideal little world! And the fact i told her that i had PCOS and that I was not getting hopes up surely should have led her to be a little more senstive!!! I can completely understand why you do feel shitty about FF!! I wish I had never asked the question now!! Lesson learnt and next time i need my chart analysing, I am coming straight here

Disco definitely worth getting your DP tested, I was told I couldn't be referred without DH being tested as well, which is why I haven't been referred, because he won't do it I don't know if the rules are the same everywhere but it makes sense to get you both checked out.

Relax did you say you've recently had a HSG? I am sure I have read about people getting their BFP after that because it flushes out the tubes or something, so it is certainly worth hoping. As Moo said, sperm can live for a while so it could be your month!

Well I has a shitty day at work so DH has consoled me with a couple of pints in the pub!! Feel like crap! Actually feel drunk typing this despite knowing I'm not it's really weird!! Think it's just the stress so not putting it down to anything else, besides only 5DPO so faaaaar too early for symptoms!!

Also having a lot of discharge a lot more on my panties than I ever get which is weird!! I don't want to think things could be happening but this month has felt different from CD1!!!

Thanks everyone for the advice! I'm not sure my doctor is looking at my case from the point of view of fertility yet - I deliberately didn't say I was worried I wasn't conceiving as I know that he'd say 'But you've only been trying 6 months'. I sold it to him as a weird menstrual problem but I did say we were TTC. I don't think we've got enough evidence yet in terms of time spent trying to be that worried. I suppose I want the SA just to rule it out (but if it does show a problem at least we'll know about it sooner). Anyway, enough musing!

Moo I would definitely ignore the advice you were given. I'm a science/biology teacher and when you draw graphs in science, you identify the anomalous results and disregard them (especially if you know why you got those anomalous results!). I have no qualms in discarding anomalous results, you are supposed to be looking at the overall picture!

Lil the one sided boob stabbing pain is interesting! I've had that before I think. I allow myself BFP daydreams from time to time, I've figured out how I'll tell my mum and sister anyway (send them picture msg of +ve preg test whilst on the phone). Your dip sounds promising, crossing my fingers for you!

I had a very interesting symptom yesterday - stabbing pains in the right hand ovary region. Not very interesting except all my various pains and cramps since coming off the pill have been on the left hand side - could the right ovary be spluttering into life?

I woke in the middle of the night with severe heartburn had to get up and take a rennies!! Also my boobies are extremely sore and nipples are getting sensitive as well!! AAAARGH I hate the 2ww!! Wish we could all just fast forward to test date

Moo the 2 ww does drive you mad but I was idly wondering what I would do if I stopped ttc / actually managed to get pg, as it has become a bit of a cycle that I track my life by - AF, then SWI, 2ww and then back to AF, it kind of has a weird rhythm to it! (OK I now sound bonkers - maybe somethings are best kept in your head!) Have a good day at home

kitchen is there any reason why your DH won't get tested? Dh doesn't want to do anything yet as he thinks we haven't been trying long enough but think he will go if / when we get to that point. Must be tough for you though.
