Feeling good things for all still wanting to stay aboard our Flight BFP2012- Welcome one and all!
As we share this journey!

moo ovulation should be 12 - 36 hours after your first strong positive. For my pg cycle, I had positive opk Tuesday, ovulation pains like a stitch in my right side Wednesday but my temp didn't rise until Saturday. My advice would be to keep going EOD until you see a temp shift.

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 02/02/2012 14:27

Me too Lil it is definitely easier to tell in RL the ones that are darker and the ones that are noticeably lighter. Will do another one later on to make sure and then some tomorrow and if they are getting lighter and lighter at least i will know! As I have had 2 negs today, should I mark them as neg on my chart or keep today's as positive and then negative from tomorrow? Gosh, this charting thing is complicated :)

Dee I am planning to SWI tonight, tomorrow and Saturday and if not clear temp shift then EOD from then on in. We dtd last night as well so should cover all bases that way. If I am ov'ing then I am making sure that we catch that egg this month Grin We just simply did not do enough last month.

Discolite · 02/02/2012 15:49

Hello everyone!

Moo sorry about the BFN, I think you are right to get back on the ol' sex schedule. You don't want to miss out if you do ovulate. Just don't wear yourselves out! Mind, if it is all 'Wham Bam' perhaps you'll be ok Grin Do go to the doctors though, I think some more blood tests to find out what hormones you've got floating around would be useful.

Blue when are you planning on testing? You must have nerves of steel to hold out!

Lil at least you didn't take, um, I dunno, preseed or pregnancy tests into school and forget them! I get worried enough about losing my phone as it has the FF app on it, don't want the world to know my business!

Welcome Thingie!

Count good news on the ovulation pains and +ve opks! Fingers crossed all the SWI has done the trick for you.

Winnie glad you are over your illness, didn't sound like much fun at all...Alex hope you get better soon.

As for me, the spotting is still there but only every third time I wipe and only a teeny bit of brown tinged CM so I'm feeling pretty positive and upbeat. My IC this morning is noticeably stronger than yesterday's AM and PM peesticks, so that's another good sign. I could also swear my boobs are changing already...
I had my initial appointment with the community midwife, she was very nice and has confirmed for me that I can still go to the gym if I don't go mental and that I am allowed to do some decorating (so there Mum! Your advice is 30 years out of date!). She puts me 6 days further along than I think I am, thanks to her inflexible NHS wheel calculator which only allows for a 28 day cycle, but that is ok cos it puts me a week closer to a scan!

alexeliza · 02/02/2012 20:44

Okay, things are looking up a bit today (ie feeling a little better) although I really struggled to get out of bed this morning. It's so cold outside!!!
I still have to read through all the posts from over the last couple of days so will settle back this evening to do that.

I think I mentioned last night I was taking temps but I'm also keeping an eye on CM - and I'm confused (but it might just be me). I've nothing really to compare with...... AF started last Friday and finished Monday. Had started to see creamy CM over the last couple of days and then this morning woke up to dark rust coloured CM, which I've basically had all day. Not heavy, only when wiping. (Sorry, may be TMI!). so very confused. Is that "left over" AF? Why 2 days then that were clear of any blood? No change in temps so assuming that I'm working towards SWI from this weekend. So hoping DH has recovered from his flu......

Anyway, will now get on with catching up on everything that's been happening....

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 02/02/2012 21:09

Alex generally your CM pattern is dry, sticky, creamy, watery, egg white. What you are seeing now sounds like left over AF that's just been a bit slow coming out. Not pleasant but I shouldn't think it's anything to worry about.

After AF it goes sticky then creamy. As you are becoming more fertile, it should start to become watery. At your most fertile it will be EWCM. This is time to really get SWIing! After ov, it will go back to creamy, sticky and dry just before AF.

Hope that helps a little! :)

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 03/02/2012 08:24

Morning ladies; this thread seems to have dried up a bit since the rush of all the BFP's.

I need your opinions. I took my temp this morning........4 times!! My first temp was 36.18 (shocking as expected it to drop this morning), my second temp was 35.79 (more like what i was expecting), my third temp was 35.99 and my final temp was 36.04.

My question is, which temp should I be using?? I temped just before I went to bed and my temp was 35.66, so I was expecting it this morning to be around 35.80 (if it goes up 0.1 degrees every half hour - is that correct?) even if it went up 0.10 degrees every half hour than that would only bring my temp up to 35.94, making the second two temps more accurate.

Any thoughts??

Disco, how is the spotting? Glad you have had an appointment with the midwife and that you are closer to getting that first scan :)

Alex how is the CM looking this morning?

Lil how are the temps looking?

Happy Friday one and all Grin and stay warm wherever you are and whatever you are up to today!!

Rusulka · 03/02/2012 13:08

Hello!

Sorry for absence, DH had yesterday off so we spent the WHOLE DAY playing the new Legend of Zelda game. [geekgasm]...

Moo on my last cycle of temping, I noticed that I'd get a temp that made no sense (ie. wasn't what I wanted to see, lol) so I started doing 3 or 4 in a row til I got either 2 the same, or I used the one in the middle.

Disco sounds like a breakthrough last swan song from AF if you ask me.
Mine was sex related Blush and would have stopped if I hadn't gone for the scan- which just aggravated it more!

Votes so far on colours for knobbly baby bag=
Green- 4
Red/ purple- 2

Well, in the absence of a decent gherkin-green in baby wool (it's all fcking pink and blue, cckscking wnk) we have opted for a nice rich purply colour.

Festie I will ask my mum for the name of the pattern and where she got it from. I strongly suspect eBay.

Am feeling quite grumpy today as no matter where I look, all baby clothes seem to be covered in some form of irritating Disney character, and I am ALLERGIC to Disney!!! Pixar I can cope with. But only because Pixar are an awesome independent company and it's just that Disney has a finger in their pie.

I just want plain bright colours, or spots or stripes. No logos, no characters, no 'mummy's cute, daddy's lucky'. Looks like our peanut is going to be stuck with plain white, Either that or Mummy and Daddy are buying fabric pens and having a creative decorating sesh... suspect all the ones DH does will have dragons and trolls on. Can always dye them I guess...

Hmm. Can you tell I'm home alone with no-one to talk to? Lol.

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 03/02/2012 14:30

Grin at you playing games Rusulka and that they don't have any sodding green wool [bemused emoticon and slightly perplexed] I agree with the whole logo thing; what's wrong with just plain/patterned nice clothes!?!

Interesting that you used the temp you were happier with on the cycle you got pg!!

It's been terribly quiet on here today!! Me no likey!!! Grin

Maisie55 · 03/02/2012 14:46

Hi there everyone! I've been steering clear the last few days as the whole 'will she or wont she' game with AF was obsessive enough!! well to answer the question, no she hasnt showed up yet!! However, I am trying desperately hard to not get my hopes up as have still have cramping (since Tuesday) which I never get for this long before AF, I have also had a bit of a dodgy tummy however which might (MIGHT) be the cause of some of the cramping as well. So, please over analyse and obsess with me:

Currently on CD36
FF put crosshairs on CD23
CBFM gave peak readings on CD24 and CD25
For the last two cycles that I have been using CFBM AF has arrived within 11 days of the first peak reading.

However, before I started using CBFM I was having cycles of anywhere between 30 and 38 days and I had no idea when ov occurred as wasn't using any form of charting/monitor at that point.

Aaaannnd (TMI alert) there is a lot more CM today that keeps making me frantically knicker check in case the hag has appeared.

So what do you think?

APologies for totally self obsessed post - I promise to read through all the previous posts since my last visit and respond properly!! Grin

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 03/02/2012 14:54

Maisie increased CM is a very very good sign; have you considered testing yet? If it was me, i would be testing (but then I am obsessive about these things).

I am also spending far too much time on MN Blush

Maisie55 · 03/02/2012 16:15

Am determined not to even consider testing until after the weekend as I have had long cycles before and am desperate not to be disappointed. So, does anyone know whether it would be safe for me to drink this weekend? I read something somewhere about alcohol not being passed until the placenta is formed but I don't know when that is? Thanks all!!

Rusulka · 03/02/2012 16:40

Festie and anyone else interested here is the link to buy the gherkin pattern on eBay (or just have a squizz!):

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BABY-COCOON-PAPOOSE-KNITTING-PATTERN-REBORN-PATTERN-128-/380198384173?pt=UK_Crafts_Knitting_Crochet_EH&hash=item588596f22d#ht_3540wt_1037

festiemum · 03/02/2012 18:32

rusulka - you are a STAR! The only time I knit is when pg and this sounds like the ideal opportunity! Thank you!

maisie - no af and wet pants? Sounds very positive to me!

How are you moo? Any the wiser on what the f**k's going on?!

I know what you mean about baby stuff. I've always felt this. Next is quite good for colourful stuff. And vertbaudet do more unusual pieces, but always buy a size bigger than baby is - French children must be small! Oh and baby gap- expensive but cute! H and M is my cheap top tip actually! If you avoid the character stuff! :o

Hope everyone is ok. I am already massive at not even 6 weeks and gaggingly nauseous. There's no way this pregnancy is gonna stay a secret till the first scan, and talking of which I haven't even got myself on the appropriate list yet. Must see my GP next week!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 03/02/2012 19:00

Festie well hopefully I ov'd today Grin have had mild cramps and short, sharp pains in my left ovary area. As I mentioned earlier though, I took my temp 4 times this morning because the first one did not seem to fit with what I was expecting. The following 3 temps were all lower (first temp 36.18 then 35.79, 35.99 and 36.04) a massive difference to the original. I have done this in the past when i have thought things were off and I've been wrong because the temps have always been the same (ie if the first temp was 36.16 , for example, then the following temps would all be 36.16).

I have gone for 35.99 as it was in between the other 2 lowest. If its right and my temps go up tomorrow then I should be set for ov today :) have dtd weds, thurs and tonight so fingers tightly crossed!!

Sorry you are showing so soon but yey that all is progressing well! And bad news on the nausea!! Can't wait to see picks of your finished knitwear Grin

Rusulka shame you couldn't get green wool, it would have looked fab!!!!

festiemum · 03/02/2012 19:54

moo really hoped you have oved. Fx for you!

rusulka just got caught up in the wonderful world of baby knitting patterns on eBay. I'm not sure what I'm going to go for. The papoose/ sleeping bag patterns are pretty fab! But then there's this! But would it be too cruel?! :o :o :o

alexeliza · 03/02/2012 20:55

Hi All!
TGI Friday - a whole weekend ahead!

Moo - Really hoping you have ov'd!! Thanks so much for your comments. I've nver really paid attention to CM before and yesterday really threw me. Today it's really watery, but not quite sure - think I may need to check again tomorrow. I did an ov test to be sure today and that was negative. Seems still a bit early to be near ov (CD8) but just trying to monitor it as last month I got my cycle length wrong altogether. Temps wise, I have been taking them in the morning - I was 36.0 on Monday and have been around 36.3/4 over the last few days (I've been taking temps at the same time, first thing before I get up, so though the raised temp might be because of my cold?). What happens with temp when you ov - does it suddenly just rise? Keeping my fingers crossed that this time, one of the (hopefully many!) BFP's will be yours!!

Maisie - sounds positive, fingers crossed that this might be it!!

Rusulka - the knitting pattern is fab!! It's very tempting to start now, just in preparation!! (I have lots of faith, and I'm not superstitious, just very positive!! Smile). I also like the one that Festie has found.....

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 03/02/2012 21:08

Alex - at ov you should see a temp drop on the day of ov and then you are looking for a sustained temp shift. The following 3 temps after the drop need to be higher than the previous 6 temps. So, if pre-ov temps are between 36.0 and 36.3 then you are looking for a significant drop. After the drop the temps need to be higher than 36.3.

My temps have been between 36.0 and 36.21. Today my temp dropped to 35.99 so tomorrow (and Sunday/Monday) my temps need to rise to 36.18 and higher!

Hope that makes some sense :)

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 03/02/2012 21:10

Oh and if you have a cold then I would suggest discarding those temps as they can skew the results!

Discolite · 03/02/2012 21:38

Hellooo!

Alex that does sound odd. I concur with Moo though, it must be the very tail end of your period that didn't quite make it out.

Moo I sometimes found that would happen. In the end I just decided to go with the very first reading from each morning as it was the soonest after i woke up. I used to mess around with the thermometer and test it out and my afternoon temperatures were always lower than my morning temps which was bizarre. Anyway, my method seemed to work (eventually!) Grin Good news on the new ovulation anyway, let's hope this time it goes a bit more straightforwardly!

Maisie you have nerves of steel! I too feel pretty wet and have a sort of 'full' sensation which is a bit weird. It's getting to point where I think I'm going to have wear liners. Anyway, hope your weekend testing gets the desired result!

Rusulka the papoose is gorgeous! I've just started having a tentative look and John Lewis is pretty good if you mainly stick to what they call 'boy's' clothes (I am utterly bemused as to why tiny babies need to have their gender so clearly demarcated but anyway). As a biologist I like this one www.johnlewis.com/287994/Product.aspx although it is stupidly expensive but a better value bet are these which are in lovely bright colours www.johnlewis.com/252180/Product.aspx. Or you couldn't get much brighter than this: www.nordickids.co.uk/detail.asp/sku=PS304/d=4! I'm going to buy (when I'm much more pregnant obvs, don't wanna tempt fate) whatever I like without a thought as to whether it is gender appropriate or not. I don't think a baby boy will be scarred for life if he's wearing bright pink and neither will a baby girl if she's wearing plain denim trousers without flipping glittery embroidered flowers. Actually, just found these :www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FUNKY-COLOURED-BABYGROW-SLEEPSUIT-fancy-dress-/290511669316?pt=Baby_Clothing&var=&hash=item895f5890e1

I'm going to have a go at knitting this: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cardigan-with-moss-stitch-edging. I've wanted to progress from scarves for a while and with an investment of three balls of wool this one is quite affordable! The pattern is available for free as well so if it all goes wrong it's only £12 down the drain. Actually though, I'd just send it to my sister to finish!

Festie I guess with three children under your belt (so to speak) that your body just knows what to do! I feel like my tummy is a bit more bloated but I suspect it's mostly wind and the fact I've stopped dieting. My main symptom is agonising boobs. Oh, and being really really happy, like when you've just fallen in love (sorry to be soppy).

The spotting is really limited now, it does seem like it's breakthrough bleeding. I am still touching wood everytime I go for a wee though!

Discolite · 03/02/2012 21:43

Also, am I weird for secretly always wanting to dress a baby in black? Grin Gothbaby!

coveredinflour · 04/02/2012 09:58

Hello ladies,

I've been MIA this week due to crazy work hours and inability of my phone to actually post (keeps deleting things - VERY annoying).

disco - I think a little goth baby would be hilarious, and extremely cute. But you'll probably struggle to find black baby clothes - let us know!

alex - I find the whole temp thing massively confusing. Am thinking perhaps next cycle I'll try it though as I haven't done v well with the OPKs - I think mainly down to the fact I drink lots, constantly need the loo anyway and have been doing them in the mornings so god knows when I ov'd this month!

Moo - sounds like things are looking up. FX'd you OV'd and that BFP is on its way!!!

Rusulka - LOVE the baby bag. Am tempted to try (again) to teach myself how to knit...

count - you missed me off the list so I've cut and paste it below - and added myself to the bottom. :)

So for me not so much SWI this week as both DH and I have been working ridiculously hard and long hours (e.g. DH working until 3am on Wed & me up at 5am & not home until 10pm). Both exhausted. Am technically in the 2WW anyway now.

However, I have been feeling a bit of weirdness, like a tight, heavy feeling around my lower tummy. Had it for about 4 days now and thought I felt light cramps on Monday - but not sure. Now, this is probably TMI, but have been relatively constipated the last week or so and not sure if perhaps it's THAT that's making me feel a bit weird down there - except it definitely feels like its at the front (i.e uterus). Obv am SS with gusto. Am also wondering if boobs are a bit more sensitive than usual, but possibly just because I keep prodding them to check (so think probably not). Final imaginary symptom is yesterday felt a bit sick and dizzy and had to rush and get some oatcakes to scoff quickly. However, the fact that I was literally SO tired and hadn't eaten since lunchtime - this was about 5pm - is probably more the reason.

Clearly wishful thinking - but would love a BFP so much. Can't wait for next weekend to test!!! Can't think about anything else - don't know how on earth I'll keep doing this month after month. Am hoping that I'll calm down a bit and stop being quite so obsessed.

Have the most enormous respect for all of you who have been TTC for months and months!

Lilliana · 04/02/2012 18:05

Hi everyone,
Sorry I have been awol. Got a bit pissed off with the whole ttc thing as once again we have missed the most important days to swi. Also my chart is all over the place, not helped by me temping at random times, forgetting and losing my thermometer! FF put dotted cross hairs in this am but I can't see why. I've taken out the temp from midday that I did in a moment of madness and they have removed the crosshairs. No clue whats going on but if I did ovulate on day 14/15 which is my usual we are 1 or 2 days after swi, if it was any later I think we're screwed for this month :( my chart If anyone would have a look at let me know what you think I'd be really grateful.

Apologies for the self absorbed post.
Rusulka I love the pattern so much, wish I could buy it without DH's knowledge (as he would tell me I'm rushing ahead again!) but as we share an ebay account no hope! Will have to hope it's still around when I get my BFP. Purple will look fab.

Disco Grin at goth baby - I'm sure it can be done and he/she will look very cute.

Festie sorry you're feeling rough but at least you know it is for a good reason! When / how are you going to tell everyone?

Moo hope you have ov'd. Are you still keeping separate charts going?

Maisie I can't wait till you test, you have nerves of steel to wait it out!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend

MooleyWooleyShamaLamaDingDong · 04/02/2012 18:50

Lil I would put ov at CD14 but your chart is rather erratic. I say wait to see what tomorrows temp brings. Your last 2 are rather high so Fx'd :)

I need to wait to see what my temps do, not convinced that I have ov'd yet despite all the twinges etc. Had a surprise 30th party today so feeling a little merry, although surrounded by 3 18 month year olds and a pregnant lady :( hard to enjoy when I have so much torment and struggle going on internally!

alexeliza · 04/02/2012 20:12

Hi All
I have just spent most of the afternoon tidying up our back bedroom - it's my craft room and was a little (actually very!!) messy and everything needs to be away by next Thursday when we go away as we are having the radiators throughout the house replaced. I can be such a hoarder but I love all sorts of craft (knitting, scrap booking, quilting, cross stitching etc) and I'm loathe to throw anything out, as I actually do come back to the differnt hobbies from time to time, depending on what I feel like doing. It took a while though trying to organise it all and put everything away. It got me thinking as that is the room we are planning to use for the nursery so I'll lose my craft room........ but where am I going to put everything??!!! This exercise was just to put everything away, but in a few months time, I very much expect to be moving it all out of that room - but to where?? Heaven forbid. I think I'll worry about that a few months down the track.

Moo - thanks for the guidance! I think the first temp was right (36 degrees) on Monday, after that I think it really was affected by my cold. I think this morning's was more back to normal (36.2)...... tomorrow is CD10, so I'm assuming that Ov should be any day soon after that. DH and I have already begun SWI just to be safe - it may get a bit difficult after Thursday as we will be staying with friends then in Brazil.

Disco - I love the pattern you're planning on knitting - I think I've seen it before or something similar. And I love the idea of goth baby!!

Flour - hopefully this is actually it and you'll get you BFP next weekend you test!

Lil - sorry to hear things have been so up and down. It's really frustrating trying to work exactly when ov is and trying to time SWI around it. And a month seems like such a long time if you think you've missed the window!! Fingers crossed that you did get the timing right and that there will be good news....
