Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

Those rats are jolly well going to be smacked this cycle and AF shall have arrows, hatred and misery cast upon her! No argument shall be brooked on both points.

Rubbish thread title, apologies.

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 23/12/2011 07:23

I think get shagging in that case! Remind me (sorry for not remembering) - you've just had your first AF after the arrival of your baybee???

PopcornMouseInAReindeerJumper · 23/12/2011 08:33

I know, Imps, she will be chuffed when her seventh GC arrives, I think she just panicks because she lives abroad and MIL is a drain, rather than a contributor, to our resources iykwim. I think she worries how we'll manage, and lacks tact like me :o

Yes Loopy keep SWI! How long was your last cycle? Are you still BF?

Loooopy · 23/12/2011 08:42

still BF at bedtime, this is first cycle since he was born nov 10 so not a clue re cycle lengths, was on pill for years before him, so no idea what they should be

SweetieTinselandBaubles · 23/12/2011 08:43

Far it is so tough to hear of all new pregnancies and babies, think you must have very fertile friends. I think these things go in phases, firstly everyone gets married or settled down, then they all start reproducing for years and years, and years.

Pop I agree with Imps am sure your DM didn't think what she was saying and would be over the moon to be Grandma

Hope you are fully recovered today Olives, sending you hugs

Smeg are you feeling better? Try not to stress over the festivities, wrapping up is the worst job but really worth it

Imps I am very impressed by your early posting when partying until 1.15am - you must be made of strong stuff.Xmas Smile

I am not sure if AF has arrived as flow still much lighter than normal Xmas Hmm I know I am clutching at straws but I think I am just going to count it as AF and move on.

musicalmrs · 23/12/2011 09:34

Sweetie, not to get your hopes up, but you never know... my AF was particularly light and weird, and a few days later after feeling very peculiar I tested and got my BFP!

Far, I used to find it very tough - and still do when I see people boasting about it all over Facebook and the like. I have a pregnant friend whose statuses make me very uncomfortable. I think some people get so caught up in the excitement and forget that it's more difficult for others...

Looopy, I'd go with keep SWI-ing! However, I used to get EWCM at odd times throughout my cycle too. Also, on the cycle when I eventually got PG, which was also the first one where I charted properly, FF thought I'd ovulated on three separate dates at various points in the cycle Xmas Hmm.

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 23/12/2011 09:39

Sweetie is it worth a test just to be on the safe side? Musical had her AF and got her BFP on what she thought was CD10 (or thereabouts)!

I don't feel like I'm made of strong stuff this morning, that's for sure! Where's a bacon buttie when you need one?

OP posts:
SweetieTinselandBaubles · 23/12/2011 10:18

sends Imps a bacon buttie, purely for medicinal purposes of course Xmas Wink

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 23/12/2011 11:17

If you buy a job lot of internet cheapies then you can pee on them every day like I do

OP posts:
SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 23/12/2011 11:18

Oh, I just noticed that I cross-posted with Musical earlier - I wasn't just repeating what she had said!

OP posts:
GreenOlives · 23/12/2011 11:35

Morning!
Thanks for all the hangover cures yesterday ladies, they worked a treat Xmas Wink

I'm still brooking hard for you Sweeties, I think you're still in the running for that BFP, especially after hearing about what happened with Musical

Glad you had fun last night Imps, hope the bacon buttie helps!

How are you feeling today pop, better I hope? Your mum will be over the moon when she hears about your BFP (which will really soon)

Poor old DS is really not well at all, looks like our trip to the panto may not happen tomorrow Sad, just hoping he's a bit better for Christmas day. I'm 12 dpo now, norks still sore and I have got some crampy abdo pains so I fear AF may be heading my way but I'm trying to keep positive (and will be blind drunk on Xmas day if she does arrive!)

GreenOlives · 23/12/2011 11:36

(which will be really soon) Sigh!

farfallarocks · 23/12/2011 13:11

I don;t think I actually have any friends left that aren't pregnant, seriously!
There is one, but she has been married a year and I bet she won't be drinking on NYE :(

imps 1am!! bloody hell! I also missed the SWI last night but am hoping for some today and tomorrow as have not had a peak yet.

popcorn I wonder why your mother said that? Has she got a lot going on in her at the moment? Still I would not pay too much attention to it!!

loopy I sometimes get EWCM just before AF but it does dry up in between. Is it possilbe you have not OV yet?

smeg have a nice sit down and a mince pie :)

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 23/12/2011 13:32

Far I can only think of two sets of couples who are friends of ours and who are not pregnant/already parents - one couple are going to start trying next year after they move house and the other sadly are having difficulties conceiving - she had a termination at 21 weeks after the scan showed a serious abnormality which meant that the baby wouldn't survive outside the womb and since then (which was two years ago) she has had one miscarriage. I feel very sad for her and her DH, but she's very philosophical about these things and knows that one day it will happen for them. She's a Brooker, I suppose!

OP posts:
SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 23/12/2011 13:35

Wait! I've thought of 2 more couples! That makes me feel a little better!

OP posts:
SmegTheHalls · 23/12/2011 15:06

Ooh, thanks for the mince pie far! Thanks Sweetie, yes I am feeling a bit better. My cold has 'come out' instead of malingering. Yay! So despite having a horribly sore throat, a painful tickly cough, sticky eyes, earache and a streaming nose (what a list!) I actually feel much better than I have done for about two weeks now. Nasty little virus that was.

I hope your DS feels better soon, Green. Poor little guy.

Imps, I have a theory that when you're surrounded by pregnant people, it kind of 'rubs off' on you. If it doesn't, maybe you should try rubbing them harder Xmas Grin

Sweetie light AF, eh? Hmm.... Xmas Smile

Yet again nothing to report. Nada. I think I'm on CD15 now, and I ovulated around Tuesday/Wednesday this week. We managed one SWI on Monday, so I guess we're in with a chance but I'm not particularly hopeful, with the dodgy thyroid results and all. Oh BTW - the GP who gave me my results got it wrong! My T4's were high, not low. Wonder how he got his medical degree, the numpty.

GenericDietCola · 23/12/2011 16:03

Hello all, just nipping in to say thank you for the lovely kind words people have written. We are getting over the shock and I fully intend to be back with the rat smackers in the New Year. Happy Christmas all!

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 23/12/2011 16:17

Oh Generic I am so glad that you have made the decision to rejoin us! Whilst we would all prefer to see you on the other thread rather than this one, you will be warmly welcomed back with open arms and maybe a 3-tier cake to boot.

Have a lovely Christmas with DH and DD.

OP posts:
GreenOlives · 23/12/2011 19:09

Hi Generic, I've just seen what's happened by reading back on the other thread - I'm so sorry Sad Hope you are doing ok physically and emotionally and that you and DH have lots of RL support. I really hope you have a nice Christmas, I'm sure that watching DD open all her pressies will put a big smile on your face Xmas Smile Look forward to seeing here in the New Year.
2012 is our year ladies! I can feel it in my water!

TheLittleFairyOnTopOfTheTree · 23/12/2011 19:10

Hello everyone, just popping by to wish you all Wonderful Christmas' in case I don't get a chance again. May 2012 bring bonnie babies for all the Rat Smackers. xxx

PopcornMouseInAReindeerJumper · 23/12/2011 22:10

I'm so pleased you've decided to continue ttc, you will be a fabulous mum (again). Look forward to having you back :)

Far yeah she's stressed out but mostly I think she feels guilty for being so far away iykwim, whereas for my siblings she was always just round the corner. She'll be fine once she knows we'll be fine :)

I hope to be able to pop back on tomorrow, but if not - merry Christmas Brookers! Enjoy your last Christmas babyless, as next year we'll all have 3-month olds :o

SmegTheHalls · 23/12/2011 22:17

Generic I hope you have a lovely Christmas with your family. Looking forward to seeing you again in the new year (although obviously I wish the circumstances were different).

Hullo Little! Thanks for the Christmas wishes.

I've made inroads into the wrapping. This year is pretty bad, I've gone a little OTT with DD's presents Xmas Blush She's not even 2, it's not like she even cares what day it is!

Biscuitsandtinsel · 24/12/2011 09:37

Just nipping in to wish you all a lovely Christmas - this time next year you'll all be trying to wrap presents etc around snuggles with your 3 mth olds - just as soon as those jan bfps start rolling in

cakes82 · 24/12/2011 18:08

Stasi posted on another thread. All is well just busy with visitors.

TheLittleFairyOnTopOfTheTree · 24/12/2011 19:32

Thanks for that cakes82 - I've been keeping an eye out for her. Stasi, so glad you're well x

beangrower · 24/12/2011 19:58

Hello Brookers - catching up on tales of hangover cures - quavers, yes! - and mums who mean well but say unnerving things (it'll come in handy for the ironic BFP Pop).

Very sorry to learn about Generic; sending her a huge hug and wishing her and her family the best in such sad circumstances. Generic - try not to worry about 36; you still have some good years left in you. I am 4 years older and not prepared to give up totally.

Puts my AF-arrival into perspective (bang on cd29 with a cd14 ov - at least acu has made me textbook in that respect). Olives - hope she's stayed away. Sweetie - hope that you still get a BFP.

Smeg - deffo still in with a chance.

Imps - where's your cycle at?

Beanlet has had a vomiting bug and is not happy about being away from home. Two nights with no sleep... I think next Christmas it will be just us three (and our extra/bump of course) at home. full. stop. (Sorry, if that's bah humbug; Wales is lovely but has been a bit challenging so far.)

Keep well all of you. And a very happy Christmas. May you be full of baked goods and BFPs in the making.
