Those rats are jolly well going to be smacked this cycle and AF shall have arrows, hatred and misery cast upon her! No argument shall be brooked on both points.

Rubbish thread title, apologies.

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 21/12/2011 09:39

Bean I shall not have it - AF shall not be putting in an appearance at Bean Towers this month. So there.

I tend not to bother adjusting my temps either, but I do avoid taking them if I know that something is going to affect them badly, like having a drink the night before or waking up to go for a wee shortly before the alarm goes off.

Am feeling a bit Xmas Angry this morning - we're having a few people over for a festive gathering tomorrow evening (9 plus OH and I in total) and 2 have just cancelled and another two are going to "pop in" at around 10pm because they've got tickets to some Radio 1 karaoke thing. Frankly, I find it a bit rude particularly as I've already bought the food and drink and stuff. Plus (and maybe I'm being a bit tooooo unreasonable here) I find it a bit pathetic that people in their 30s would be more interested in going to see some celebs rather than see their friends at something that had already been arranged. I may have done that when I was 15, but I've sort of grown up a bit since then.

And TBH I was hoping that everyone would have buggered off by not long after 10pm so that OH and I could get some SWI action in.

PLUS! I am still waiting for my bloody job offer - they intend to get it done by NYE but that's still AAAAAAAGGGGGGGGEEEEESSSSSSSS away.

PLUS! I still hate my job.

I shouldn't have got out of bed today.

Oh - but to answer your question Bean - I love having friends and their kiddiwinks over to stay! The ones in question at the weekend are our best friends (if we're not too old to still have best friends) and the newborn is their third! (All three conceived on first attempt....). I am godmother to their oldest and OH has just been asked to be godfather to their youngest! Happy times.

Imps YAsoooooooNBU! That is very rude of the droppers-inners. I'd have told them that wouldn't be very convenient, and we'll just see you Boxing Day/Whenever as planned. And fuck you enjoy your wanky karoke while I drink champers and eat my nibbles. But that is the sort of mood I am in today :o

PopcornMouseInAReindeerJumper · 21/12/2011 10:11

Has anyone heard from Stasi? I know she had her appointment Monday, I'm a bit worried for her Confused I'm hoping she's just manically Christmas shopping!

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 21/12/2011 10:28

Popcorn the two who have cancelled are going to the karaoke too and clearly can't be arsed to come to ours at all!

I really feel like I'm going to be very very rude to someone today. I may even punch them. Pah to today. Xmas Angry

Am worried about Stasi too. I really hope she pops in soon and tells us that all's okay.

PopcornMouseInAReindeerJumper · 21/12/2011 10:36

Xmas Shock That's terrible, Imps, soooo rude. Xmas Shock

beangrower · 21/12/2011 11:07

Ah - Pop - sorry about the tears. It's so very hard and it doesn't get easier until you get that BFP. Good luck with endocrin people. Something good will come of it and meanwhile start planning that holiday.

Imps - that would really feck me off too. Arseholes Annoying people. Deep breaths. Oh and snog and squeeze OH so much on the eve that they all get the hint and bugger off well before 10pm then don't answer the doorbell to the lates.

Looopy - I really think you should put this first attempt on FF down to experience. I am. It will all settle down and they you will get a clearer picture. Am I right in thinking you haven't had AF yet since BFing? Could take a while yet and I'm afraid FF prob isn't genius enough to work it all out for you immediately. Xmas Grin

Btw way - I like the way FF is telling me that I have a 50% of being pg. Um. Yes. Well that's BFP or BFN then... Xmas Hmm

Sweetie - I will try to pop in on Friday to see your good news. Xmas Smile

We are hitting the road today, off to N Wales. Might be a bit scarce but sending hugs to all, hoping Stasi is ok, and waving at Whimsi (and wondering if she should be squeezing in just a tad more SWI mid month but doesn't want to interfere? Xmas Blush)

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 21/12/2011 11:17

Pop I'm so sorry, I've been so wrapped up in myself this morning that I've not expressed sympathy and support for you! Down days are totally and utterly allowed and your DH is of course completely right - it WILL happen for you, and when it does you'll say to yourself "I'm glad it happened when it did - it meant that we had the chance to do X, Y and Z that we wouldn't have been able to had the baby arrived any earlier."

Bean, interestingly enough the sperm/fertility experts on the Great British Sperm Race said that every 3 days was an good way to TTC as it ensured that you'd hit the fertile window each cycle. They didn't think that SWI every day was necessary the most productive thing to do! I think that the only thing we can conclude about this is that there are no certainties when it comes to the miracle of creating life.

OP posts:
beangrower · 21/12/2011 11:26

Imps I bow to your knowledge. I'm aware that for low motility sperm etc this also true. As you say - who the feck knows what the magic is all about. I have been on a thread with two ladies who were told they would never get pregnant without fertility treatment and both managed it naturally.

Thanks for being such a great Brooker btw Imps. My Christmas wish is for everyone on here to crack the baby nut this year with BFPs galore.

Pop - we're all thinking of you. Right must pack the car!!!!!

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 21/12/2011 11:32

Oooh Bean - it's definitely not my knowledge!! They experts on the programme were saying that no one really knows how long sperm can last for in the fallopian tubes, and one of the professors decided that when she had her tubes tied she would have sex a couple of days before the op, then ask the surgeon to keep a bit of her tube and let her have it so she could put in under the microscope in the lab and see how many swimmers were still alive! That's dedication to one's cause if ever I heard it Xmas Grin

Have a lovely journey to Wales! Will you be absent with leave over Christmas or still able to pop in from time to time?

OP posts:
SmegTheHalls · 21/12/2011 12:31

Hi everyone. Sorry I've not been around very much recently, Christmas is manic, and since we're taking a month off (from charting, OPKing and general obsessing) I feel like a bit of a fraud hanging around on a TTC thread. We've both been so exhausted that SWI hasn't exactly happened this cycle, we managed a measly once in the last week! So I'm kicking back and enjoying myself, before the rigmarole that is blood tests, doctors appointments and fertility clinics starts up in the new year.

Imps I do hope you get your job offer soon. And am very Xmas Shock at your rude friends! I wouldn't let in the latecomers - just carry on partying but shout 'No-one's home!' when they ring the bell. That'll learn 'em

bean have a lovely Christmas in Wales! Keep in touch if you can, we'd love to hear from you.

Pop your DH sounds lovely, and absolutely right. It will happen for you, some DC's take a little longer to come along but perfection is worth waiting for Xmas Smile

Sweetie FRIDAY?!!! Good lord woman, I've been trying to grow my nails. They'll be in shreds by then!

I'm orf to buy my Darling Brother's present. That is a deeply sarcastic 'Darling', if you were wondering. Why is it siblings can wind us up in ways that no-one else can?

PopcornMouseInAReindeerJumper · 21/12/2011 14:07

Don't apologise Imps, I'm Xmas Angry on your behalf!!

"perfection is worth waiting for" I like that a lot smegs :)

TSH was 1.7 - which is unambiguously great, so he was certain my ttc woes are not connected to my thyroid. (It was 1.3 6 months ago, so it's been fine for a year now). Which on the one hand is great, but on the other I was sort of hoping they'd be high so there was something obviously amiss, you know? He was horrified when I told him it was a 2 year wait for a fertility referral, though - he thought it was 6 months Hmm

PopcornMouseInAReindeerJumper · 21/12/2011 14:17

Incidentally, my blood pressure has been "a bit on the low side, but not enough to worry about" persistently. Anyone know if that would have any relevance?

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 21/12/2011 14:20

Pop, stop obsessing!! Your eggs and DH's swimmers are just taking the time to get to know each other before properly getting it on. It's good, old fashioned courting and nothing to be worried about!

PopcornMouseInAReindeerJumper · 21/12/2011 14:34

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 21/12/2011 14:55

BFN Sad
been obsessing thinking of testing most of the day, tested when I got in from work. Not sure if to test again tomorrow or Fri with fmu. Af not due Sat so i should know if I can drink before the big day.

Pop hope things have sunk in after your earlier appointment, fx for you and your DH

farfallarocks · 21/12/2011 18:48

Oh sweetie I am really sorry to hear that, its very very early though my dear!!

pop that is a great TSH level well done but I can understand the feeling of wanting a reason. Is there any way you can push for a referral sooner just to make you feel reassured?

Has everyones een generic's sad news on the ante natal thread? I am gutted :(
Any news from Stasi
We really need a BFP on this thread soon don't we??

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 21/12/2011 19:37

Grrr to the peesticks Sweetie. How many DPO??

I am gutted Far. It's so awful to see something so sad happen to someone so lovely.

BeedleTheBahHumbug · 22/12/2011 05:27

Just a quick one to say that the old witch got me this morning unless its just implantation bleeding Xmas Hmm but as she's come all the way here to get me, she hopefully won't have time to get any of the rest of you before Christmas - I mean she's not magic like Santa Xmas Smile

I was also sad to hear generic news - hugs if you're lurking.

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 22/12/2011 08:08

Morning smacketers Xmas Smile

Boo Beedle. That's not very festive of her. Here, have a frangipane-topped mince pie (which I made last night and which are fab, even if I do say so myself).

I had a rather saucy dream last night about a lad called Ben who used to work in IT in my office. He left about 7 months ago and he was only about 20. Good job he's left as I wouldn't be able to look him in the eye again if he were still there Xmas Blush

NinjaChipmunk · 22/12/2011 08:31

Hello rat smackers! How is everyone? Sorry I haven't popped in to say hi recently, rl has been taking over so have been lurking with no time to post. It seems like you've all been as busy as usual with your chatting and baking, I struggle to keep up! Anyway today is last day at work for 2 whole weeks so yay!

GreenOlives · 22/12/2011 08:58

Work christmas do last night - not sure if it was the G&T, red wine, vodka or Jaeger bombs what did it but I am poooorly this morning! And I have to look after DS who has a temp and is feeling poorly too. Sofa day me thinks!

Don't be worrying about your cava bean, I've well and truly ruined my chance of a Christmas BFP with the cocktail I had last night!

Will pop back later to catch up properly

SweetieTinselandBaubles · 22/12/2011 10:05

Morning all smacketers Xmas Grin

So sorry about Generic poor love. Do hope she is getting lots of RL support. Thanks if she is lurking.

Beedle sorry to hear about evil witch descending, at least you can enjoy a guilt free Christmas celebration. Xmas Grin

Imps clearly upduffed with saucy dreams - FACT!!!

Think AF is going to get me anytime, my spotting has got heavier this morning and has a very pre-AF feel about it. Am 14DPO so she should be showing up any time, although would have expected her Saturday . I was soooo hopeful this month too slightly worried how I was going to cover up not drinking over Christmas but hey ho!! Rock on 2012 for all our New Years BFP.

PopcornMouseInAReindeerJumper · 22/12/2011 10:09

I think I'm happy to wait 6 months, far - DH isn't ready for it all to become medicalised just yet. I am just naturally a stresspot ? even if there's nothing to stress over, I'll find something :o

I feel so, so sad for Generic :(

Boooo beedle! Make the most of it, it'll be the last month! :)

Lol Olives sounds like you had a nice night?

I feel rubbish this morning. I have the biggest, most painful collection of spots on my chin, sob! And for the past 12 hours I've had stabbing tummy pains too, in where I'd imagine my left ovary was Hmm

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 22/12/2011 10:10

Oh no Sweetie I can't believe that AF is arriving for you! Surely you must be wrong about this??? Pah to the ol' fat slag.
