Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

Those rats are jolly well going to be smacked this cycle and AF shall have arrows, hatred and misery cast upon her! No argument shall be brooked on both points.

Rubbish thread title, apologies.

Afternoon rat smackets!

All is looking brighter this morning (mainly because I've got a day off!) Thank you all for your lovely words - definitely think I was due a good cry so it probably did me the world of good. bean you got it dead right; as hard as it is at times my job is also very rewarding and I have fantastic colleagues too which makes the hard times easier to deal with IYSWIM?

Beedle 6 hours on the train sounds pants - hope you had a good book to read. I'm hoping that you were just a little eager on the test front and an agreeable pee stick is just around the corner. Good luck with the tidying, that's my plan for later (as well as a mountain of ironing!)

Sweetie could you be any more pregnant?? Those symptoms sound excellent!

bean I realise that you are not symptom spotting this month but PMT also = preggo symptom and applying for jobs surely is tempting the ironic BFP?

Xmas Grin at SFF/SWI in the kitchen Far, I've never DTD in the kitchen, I fear it would be a bit chilly! Xmas Wink

Cupcakes Our paed wards are so busy that they keep closing to admissions so we have been having all the kiddywinks in A&E and then transferring to other local hospitals for admission - I agree it has been bronch city with a few croups thrown in for good measure!

9 DPO here, boobies sore but they always are at this point in my cycle. Think I might PIAR on Christmas Day as will be 14 DPO then (assuming AF doesn't show her face before then!)

PopcornMouseInAReindeerJumper · 20/12/2011 13:45

:o bean

beangrower · 20/12/2011 14:09

Glad you're doing better today Olives - hope you get in some treats during time off, not just ironing! I bet your colleagues are v lovely indeed. You all need to look after each other. Tears are essential and cathartic.

PIAR on Chrimbo day?! Before or after the bucks fizz?

Not only applying for a job, but an unpaid one at that, Olives... I must be mad.

Let's hope our sore knockers are all for a good cause. But I'm not counting any chickens and am preparing to be well-behaved and only quietly disappointed as AF is due when I'll be surrounded by in-laws. Just sorted a poo-everywhere-including-up-the-back nappy for DS and was reminded of the days of looking after a newborn on no sleep, which got me thinking, hmm, maybe one DC (now sleep trained) is not so bad after all. (Sort of. Not really. Trying my best to keep up the win-win.)

CupcakesAndCocktails · 20/12/2011 14:09

Ha Pop you are definitely preggo, I've actually read on a random website , maybe 2ww.com that was actually a symptom for someone. Only 11 more days until confirmation Grin

Olives enjoy your day off. I'm off as well today. Am sat with my kindle listening to Xmas songs ignoring all the jobs that need doing Smile
We are closed nearly everyday at work, it's one in one out. Every patient has breathing difficulties. I'm hearing sats and drip alarms in my sleep. What I wouldn't give for a fracture or CAMHS case right now!!!

CupcakesAndCocktails · 20/12/2011 14:15

Bean I've just read your message on the other thread. Thanks for the lovely reassurance. You are right we are all getting our BFPs in 2012. Except for the rat smackers that have still got time to slip them in before new year GrinGrinGrin

beangrower · 20/12/2011 14:25

That's right Cupcakes; something has shifted for you now the GP has admitted defeat and that can only be a good thing. Hurray. And hurray to all our BFPs. Now - must go and RELAX and get away from this alluring computer. xxx

SweetieTinselandBaubles · 20/12/2011 15:58

Far Xmas Shock SWI/SFF in the kitchen Xmas Shock you go girl Xmas Shock

Olives PIAR on Christmas Day, very festive, should be a tinsel wrapped ramekin too me thinks Xmas Grin

Cupcakes how are things going with the GP, have you brooked no arguments and got the referral? Fx for you my dear.

Bean good luck with the Chair role, obviously ironic BFP will be sure to follow Xmas Wink

beangrower · 20/12/2011 16:21

Sweetie - best Christmas present ever coming your way?!!!

Loooopy · 20/12/2011 16:25

all i can report is that i had a very achey feeling on my left hand side low down yesterday, but nothing today. Really don't want to get carried away, but can't help thinking that it was possible for us to hit the jackpot first time last time round, that maybe just maybe there is a small chance we might do the same again. But fully prepared that it might take longer. Like bean i charted mainly so i would know if i was even ovulating, as read scary things about people not ov'ing after having a DC.

Bean your chart looks impressive, no idea how to post mine, and it looks much more of a mess, as i wake at varying times, no hope of ever temping at the same time exactly as i am a poor sleeper and DS wakes at different times.

really hoping there is a load of xmas BFP's, feels like we are due lots.

PopcornMouseInAReindeerJumper · 20/12/2011 17:18

Look, it's a knitted uterus! Shock

PopcornMouseInAReindeerJumper · 20/12/2011 17:25

Endocrinology appt tomorrow, I'm a bit oo-er Confused
On the one hand I hope it's all fine, but on the other it would be nice if my numbers were crap so I could put my ttc woes down to that iykwim? I'm also hoping they don't discharge me.

beangrower · 20/12/2011 17:35

Xmas Grin at Pops knitted uterus. Good luck tomorrow girl. Hope you get the results you need either way.

Loopy - my waking times have ranged from 5.50 to 7.30 and I have been up at night due to DS's illness so I don't think my numbers are worth much. I'm a terrible light sleeper and move around like billio so... Having said that - there's a def rise for ov which fits with +OPK so helpful. Keep charting lady and I imagine it will get more consistent (although of course you won't need to after this month's BFP [fmsile]). I've had those low-down aches on one side too but on right! Xmas Smile

BeedleTheBahHumbug · 20/12/2011 17:38

Well sweetie since you asked so nicely my symptoms are:
Sore boobs
And a spot on my jaw

Hardly the most impressive list of symptoms ever Xmas Grin but my temp is still around 37 deg so it hasn't dropped yet.

Who are you going to knit that for popcorn Xmas Grin

olives glad you've got a day off today, hope you've enjoyed it

beangrower · 20/12/2011 17:59

Hey Beedle - you're deffopreggo. Wait a few days to confirm!

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 20/12/2011 18:12

Xmas Grin I love the fact that the author of the blog feels the need to add a disclaimer that the knitted uterus "is not completely anatomically accurate...". No shit!!

Ooooh Beedle no temp drop you say???? When does it usually drop?? Eeeeeeek exciting!!

OP posts:
BeedleTheBahHumbug · 21/12/2011 06:48

in answer to your question imps I expected my temp to drop today and it did Xmas Sad, but I still have sore boobs - which is probably just my body finding new ways to torment me - I expect the witch tomorrow morning at the latest but if she hasn't arrived by Friday I'll test again

Hope bean, sweetie and looopy have better news to report this morning Xmas Smile

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 21/12/2011 07:14

Booo for dropping temperature Beedle - how low has it gone? A minor dip or near-to-the-coverline drop? Brooking super extra hard for you.

I'm quite interested by my chart so far this month - on Friday night and Monday night (and Sat and Sun but I didn't take my temps the following morning) I slept in a different bed with a slightly thinner duvet and look at the difference it's made to my temps!!

Oh, I haven't been sleeping in another bed for any dubious reasons, of course, OH and I sacrificed our bigger bedroom for our friends with their newborn on Saturday night but have stayed in our guest room for several other nights as I haven't changed the sheets etc yet. And on Friday night we stayed in the guest room as I'd changed the sheets on our bed ready for Saturday night.

Oh god I'm rambing about bed sheets, I think I need more sleep.

OP posts:
BeedleTheBahHumbug · 21/12/2011 07:42

not quite to the coverline but still a drop of about 0.2 deg C - and I can't blame it on a thinner duvet /different bed either Xmas Smile I should have been more organised like you and changed the beds for my parents last night instead of getting up at 5.30 to do it this morning Xmas Hmm

beangrower · 21/12/2011 08:43

Hello all. I think Sweetie is going to be this month's queen of the BFP. I'm pretty sure AF is making a beeline for Bean Towers (or should that be a beanline?) Fx for Olives and Loopy too - a trio of BFPs.

I drank half a bottle of cava last night so don't deserve a BFP anyway. Today's temp is high but I suspect because the cava is keeping it up there. Xmas Grin Not used to drinking any more and feel grim. But we had to celebrate DPs bonus/promotion and I'm aware that I haven't been much fun with TTC these last months....

But - I'm glad to see that I ov'd and don't appear to have a short LP. So not too disheartened this month and DP readily agreed to try a bit of acupuncture next year (after SA results) if needs be. We will give it a last fling before putting TTC away for good in the early summer.

Imps - diff beds does make a difference to temping doesn't it?! Everything needs to be 'equal' for it to work, I guess. I'm going to have to get better at timing etc. Was it nice having friends/newborn to stay or a bit tough for you both? Hope you got some good cuddles in.

DS is 22 months old today. And very grumpy about it too.

beangrower · 21/12/2011 08:44

Beedle - sorry forgot to write sorry about temp drop but you never know. You did get up v early so maybe that has caused the drop?!

SweetieTinselandBaubles · 21/12/2011 08:55

Morning all
I haven't tested and no AF yet either. I didn't want the disappointment of BFN so will wait another day or so but promise to test on Fri if AF hasn't shown up.

Beedle still keeping my fx for you, don't know about temping but holding out that the dip wasn't too low Xmas Confused

Olives Loooopy Bean still brooking that you are all festive BFP Xmas Smile

Loooopy · 21/12/2011 09:07

sorry that AF might be heading your way beedle and hope she decides to swerve to avoid bean towers this month too!

I am puzzled re fertility friend now. After inputting todays temp, it has changed where it thinks my cover line should be. This now means that the only day below the coverline was 5dpo when it dipped the most, but everything else, including today at 7dpo is above the coverline. If they can move it around wherever they want, should i just ignore the coverline completely then? or what?

Not sure how reliable most of my temps are though, as since starting to temp, i've had a sickness bug, a stinking cold, some very hot nights under the duvet and some very variable waking times.

Does anyone adjust their temps? i know FF says not to, but i read something this week about adjusting them to even the times out??

whimsicalname · 21/12/2011 09:25

Morning all
You're all so impressive with your charting. TTC is turning everyone into scientists! Well, those of us that weren't scientists to start with...

I haven't been doing much in terms of measuring, checking and PingOAS, but am trying to SWI every 3 days. I might have had a bit of EWCM the other day, but I might not. I've certainly had rather a lot of what might euphemistically be called late nights, so maybe it's as well.

What I came on to say was, did anyone see Rev last night? I love it. Lovely Tom Hollander, hysterical Miles Jupp and brilliant Olivia Colman. They've had a TTC storyline, where basically they're always too busy or tired, or there's a wierd person staying in the house. Anyway, I won't give the game away if you're planning on watching, but it was super last night. I'd recommend it! A proper Christmas special.

I've made cranberry and orange florentines. They were meant to be gifts, but I've eaten most of them myself. There's a few left for you though!

PopcornMouseInAReindeerJumper · 21/12/2011 09:29

Mmmmm bean I love cava. Well done to your DH on his bonus :)

Beedle one day's drop could be down to aaaanything - you could have just been sleeping with a leg hanging out of the bed or something (which is dangerous, fyi - be careful you don't get dragged off and eaten by demons) I wouldn't worry just yet :)

Ooooo Sweetie you tease :o

Well I've already been in tears once this morning, and I've only been up an hour Blush Big hug from DH and a pep talk about standing up for myself (with the endocrinologist) and enjoying what we have now (2 furboys and enough money to scrape together a foreign holiday next year) and that things'll happen when they happen. I love my DH :)

PopcornMouseInAReindeerJumper · 21/12/2011 09:31

whimsy we've taped it! DH and I love rev :)

Loopy I tend not to bother adjusting my temps; the one chart I made the effort of doing that with didn't change anything at all. The actual coverline isn't too important, so I wouldn't worry about FF changing it a bit.
