Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

Those rats are jolly well going to be smacked this cycle and AF shall have arrows, hatred and misery cast upon her! No argument shall be brooked on both points.

Rubbish thread title, apologies.

Oh, another thought Bean - do you still have an appendix?

beangrower · 11/01/2012 15:49

Thanks Maybe and Stasi. Definitely wasn't stomach issues as I'm quite used to those (having had serious candida problems a few years ago). Was definitely a glandy feeling IYKWIM so perhaps ov pains which is annoying as SA requirements interrupted SWI. Should have held off for another week. At least now we have SA done.

Yes, let's go for SWI spread out over the month Maybe - then we don't need to worry so much about ov'ing etc.

Sorry about your BFN Stasi. This TTC lark is a killer on the hope front. Let's hope you get a decent result with the SA.

Anyway. TTFN. I have parkin baking in the oven so will save you all a piece.

beangrower · 11/01/2012 15:51

Yes - I do have an appendix. Hadn't thought of that! Not quite sure how low down it is in the torso. This pain was near my hipbone. Anyway - I don't need to be paranoid as it's gone now.

Thanks for listening! Will chat here with you all anon. xxx

Imps7 · 11/01/2012 16:07

I had a grumbling appendix a few years ago which started with what felt like the onset of a tummy bug and then turned into stitch pains just above my right hip bone. The GP tested for a dodgy appendix by poking me quite deeply above the hip bone, holding it there for a second and then whipping her hand away - as soon as she took the pressure off there was a shot of pain radiating from hip bone to tummy. That's a classic sign of an inflamed appendix apparently! The consultant in A&E tested for a dodgy appendix by putting his finger up my arse and having a poke about. That was pleasant Hmm Anyway, a quick laparoscopy got rid of it before it become full blown appendicitis - bish, bash, bosh, job done.

Stasi, best of luck for tomorrow. Am really hoping that your temps shoot back up tomorrow and AF stays away for at least 38 more weeks, but if that doesn't happen, I hope that you have a really positive chat with your consultant and that the SA results come back showing perfect swimmers.

Grin Imps and Bean

Bum rummaging and wankspanner. My two new favourite Grin

Stasi · 11/01/2012 16:30

When I had appendicitis they refused to poke it, it's quite dangerous to do so apparently. Though, I unfortunately had it while on a transatlantic flight over to America. Had the call for a doctor on board and the whole lot. Much fuss. However, as I said, the doctor who did come to help said it can make it burst to poke it.

Imps7 · 11/01/2012 16:40

I didn't have full blown appendicitis (luckily for the GP Hmm). Your experience sounds nightmarish while it was happening but quite exciting in hindsight!

Imps7 · 11/01/2012 16:42

Aaaaah the penny's just dropped - that must have been why the consultant did the bum thing rather than the poke thing (official medical terms).

Stasi · 11/01/2012 16:51

It was a nightmare having it on the plane. I kept my mouth shut, despite the pain, for the 11 hours of the flight. I was terrified they'd put the plane down where ever we happened to be flying over (and they would have). So I waited until they announced we'd be landing soon, then politely asked if I could get off first so I could call an ambulance. :)

I was actually quite delirious, but I didn't know it at the time. The ambulance man had great fun taking me off the plane and whisking me through security. Immigration wanted me to sign a form, even though I agreed, the ambulance man refused and walked past. He also lent me his mobile so I could call my boyfriend.

VERY expensive having an operation in the US though, cost $1000 to go 1 mile in the ambulance, $20,000 for the operation and meds. They actually gave me an itemised list of all the drugs they gave me, with the prices of each one.

Imps7 · 11/01/2012 16:59

Tell me you had insurance.... Shock

BeedleTheBard · 11/01/2012 17:02

Well I was feeling a bit hungry and planning to start on the dinner, but suddenly I don't feel so hungry anymore Grin

A bit knackered actually, so I won't write much.

bean I often get odd pains, (though not as bad as yours sounded) I like to imagine that its inplantation Grin

imps yeah to telling them to stick their job, boo to the long notice period, but just keep smiling and annoying them Grin

Eek to the appendicitis stasi

and to those of you that have read that thread (about people living in foreign countries posting on MN)

Stasi · 11/01/2012 17:02

Nope... I skipped the country without paying

The US system is strange, the hospitals charge about double to those without insurance, they have a deal with the insurance companies which only pay a fraction of the quoted price. However if you're not insured there's no deal and you're liable for the whole cost. looks for cops following me

Imps7 · 11/01/2012 17:05

Shock I had no idea you were a fugitive!!!!

Stasi · 11/01/2012 17:12

Fugitive, hmm, who?

whimsicalname · 11/01/2012 17:20

Oooh hello Bean. nothing sensible to add to anyone's suggestions, but nice to see you.

I'm off to guzzle some toast prior to running. Carbo loading. Vital.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 11/01/2012 18:20

whim you're going for a run! Hurrah! Have fun

Stasi Shock at the cost!! That's crazy money. God bless the nhs eh?

I am only just on my way home now. Had plans for some ripped in 30 tonight. Can't see that happening now Sad

beedle where are you in your cycle? And what thread you talking about?!

Stasi · 11/01/2012 18:48

Still no AF, so I'm going to look at some of my cycle stats..

Today is cd28, ov not known as no temping at that point in cycle.

Statistics from last 9 cycles show averages as: cycle length 27.3, LP 11.2, and ovulation day 16.0. Though ov has varied up to day 18, and cycle up to 29 days.

So I'm not late until at least tomorrow, if not waiting till fri. My temp dropped to 36.4 thus morning, which is my usual AF morning temp. So still not feeling excited, but maybe a bit hopeful.

Imps7 · 11/01/2012 20:52

Hmmm, curious Stasi! I hope and pray that you and DH have properly smacketed that rat this cycle - it would be beyond brilliant to see you get a BFP tomorrow.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 11/01/2012 20:59

Oh Stasi I am keeping everything crossed for you Grin

GreenOlives · 11/01/2012 22:28

Evening!

Have just enjoyed watching OBEM, the water birth was AMAZING! That is how I'm planning to deliver my next baby - calm, controlled and dare I say it not too painful Hmm Smile

Thanks for the info re aspirin hindering implantation Far, I think I'll do what maybe suggested and hang off until I see my consultant next and get his take on it.

The pain you describe bean sounds very like ovulation pains. I find ovulation a lot more painful than AF and always need to take painkillers for it. As well as the pain I get very bloated too - did you get that as well?

Brooking hard for Stasi and Maybe

Smile on OPK for me today and LOTS of pains - no SWI tonight as DH at work until late again, will try and sneak another afternoon one in tomorrow Wink

ScrambledSmegs · 11/01/2012 23:21

GreenOlives, that's how I planned to have DD! That obviously didn't happen it was fucking carnage. Next time (think positive smegs!) it will definitely be a home birth. Or a water birth. But definitely loads of hippy shit and hypno-birthing crap Grin Re: pains - do you think you're ovulating too?

Yes, I think it sounds like ovulation pains, bean. Maybe you're ovulating much later than you think? Hope this month is the one for you.

Stasi that sounds incredibly scary and painful, but also exciting and dramatic, and am Grin that you're a fugitive from justice. Watch out for those Feds, man! Fingers crossed for you, your temps are still higher than usual.

Maybe - ooh, can barely breathe I'm brooking so hard! Implantation bleed, deffo!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 12/01/2012 08:00

Morning all!

Hurrah for the Smile Olives The water birth as amazing, though they did have DH and I in stitches with what they were saying Smile

Did anyone watch the program after..... Grin

Smegs, being a brooker also means you get a pain free birth. Did you not read that in the small print? Grin

I think today is going to be CD1 ladies. 5 days early. WTF? More spotting and now feeling a bit crampy. Though I didn't want to admit it, I thought we may have cracked it this month, especially with how I have been feeling Sad
