Those rats are jolly well going to be smacked this cycle and AF shall have arrows, hatred and misery cast upon her! No argument shall be brooked on both points.

Rubbish thread title, apologies.

OP posts:
Imps7 · 09/01/2012 08:22

Yes, you definitely need to get back into tip top rat smacketing form - work will not be conducive to that - rest and relaxation is a must. Really hope you start to feel better and in less pain soon Thanks

(p.s. I don't understand why the Thanks emoticon is and not Flowers. You don't always give flowers to say thank you, do you??)

GenericDietCola · 09/01/2012 09:04

Ah thanks Imps Thanks

GreenOlives · 09/01/2012 09:30

Morning smacketers!

Bollocks to AF Imps, how dare she try and ruin the start of a new week! Glad you're looking on the bright side though - massive congratulations on the new job, bet you can't wait to tell your current employers to stick their job where the sun don't shine resign! We can be non-gadget buddies, I own an Ipod but other than that I am an Apple virgin and I don't have a Kindle.

Hope the CBFM is still bringing you joy Pop, I thinks I would find it quite satisfying to POAS every day too Grin

Sending brooking vibes to you Munx, hope DD is all better and has a lovely first day at nursery. How are the OPKs now? You definitely deserve the Rat Smacketers Award for prolonged SWI this month! Grin

Glad you're feeling a bit better Sweetie, it WILL be your turn very very soon!

Maybe, PJs at 5pm sounds devine Me thinks you have some very promising symptoms this month!

Whims Your meeting with your friend sounds very mysterious! Am loving how you're tempting fate by buying fitted clothes in the sale - ironic BFP is just around the corner! I was too tired to watch Sherlock last night after 13 long hours at work but I can't wait to catch with it later, there is a thread on here about it and it sounds good!

Smegs Glad you are ok and have just been engrossed in your Kindle, I really need to start reading some books again, for the last couple of years my only reading material has been trashy magazines Blush This whole TTC malarkey can really get you down, I hope you feel a bit happier soon and remember we are all here to give you some brooking spirit whenever you need it.

So sorry to hear you are feeling poorly Generic, lets hope those antibiotics kick in nice and quick so you are back feeling fighting fit asap! Definitely don't be going back to work until you are completely better. Not sure anything can improve egg quality but I swear by the cocktail of vits that I take. Ever since I've been taking them I've conceived quicker (previously it had taken me 13 months to conceive!!) I take Tesco multivitamin for pregnancy, Vit B6, Vit D3, Magnesium and Omega 3 (the D3, Mag and Omega 3 are all recommended by one of the RMC consultants) Might be worth at try? I decided that even if it was the placebo effect it was still worth it just in case!

All is well here, CD14 I think so SWI commenced a couple of days ago! Need to do an OPK later but am pretty sure it will be a couple more days before egg popping!

TTFN xxxx

Imps7 · 09/01/2012 09:38

Sod it, have decided to take the day off work from home today - I've had such a lovely weekend and I can't bear the thought of those po-faced arses at work bringing me down. Plus I want to spend all morning Googling "breakthrough bleeding" cos that is clearly what I've got rather than AF Grin

farfallarocks · 09/01/2012 09:39

Hello rat smacketers, I hope you all had fabbo weekends

imps great news about the job, I bet you are going to enjoy resigning to that lot aren't you? Sorry about AF though :(

generic you poor thing, its great you are taking some time to rest up you poor thing. I thought you said you had had 3 MMC is that right? Would they not run some basic tests for you now? In terms of egg quality I have read b vits is the best thing, as well as fish oils.

sweetie and Smegs big hugs to you, I know its hard even if you have not been trying for that long.

munx are you still SWI? You deserve a medal in that case, blimey! And thanks for your kind words, they made me feel a lot better.
AF arrived in full flow on Saturday, I was a bit glum and DH was lovely about it. He said we need to wait for the perfect egg and sperm to make the cutest baby. Gawd he is lovely, I luvs him. SWI should fall nicely on a long weekend in France we have booked in so bring on the October babies I say.

I also managed to have a good chat with DH's aunt. They tried for 10 yrs and had numerous failed IVF cycles and conceived DD after the last failed round and their DS 7 yrs later. She is an amazingly tough and stoical lady but she clearly had not forgotten the pain of it all. They were 'unexplained' but clearly they got there in the end (although I am not sure I could cope with 10 yrs of this!!!!)

PopcornMouse · 09/01/2012 09:52

Imps I agree ? I usually assume people drink as much as me and give Wine as a thankyou :o
Sorry about your breakthrough bleed AF has turned up - though glad it has a silver lining :)

Olives I have a mac for work and have to say, it is lightyears ahead of Windows. But I'd never fork out £950+ for one. I have an ipod but no iphone/ipad/kindle/etc.

Yes, stay of worrk Generic and play with us instead! - you won't get better by trudging into the office.

Munx that is very odd. Even when I had my delayed ovulation, my OPKs went negative inbetween Confused Are you sure they're all properly positive? What's your temp doing?

Sweetie what is no likely no lighty? Blush

Hi smegs & maybe :)

Whimsy I loooove Sherlock. I didn't watch it last night so I'm saving it for when DH is at work at the weekend and I can enjoy it with a vino :o

PopcornMouse · 09/01/2012 09:56

Gosh far 10 years, that would be soul destroying Shock She is one tough cookie.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 09/01/2012 10:08

Wow Far that is an amazing story. I am glad you managed to talk it through with someone. So sorry AF arrived, but bless your DH. October is one of my favourite months Smile

Imps sorry the bitch got you too. Good call taking the day off though.

Generic don't you even think of work until you are better. You don't want to set your recovery back. Feet up and tea. That's an order

Hurrah for the SWI Green hope that egg pops soon Smile

Sherlock was indeed very good last night. I wish I had stayed at home today. My head is like a furnace Sad Does decaff tea make you wee more? Very scientific question I know! Only I thought cutting out the caffeine would make me pee less Hmm

Imps7 · 09/01/2012 10:17

Parps? Check
Bloatedness? Check
Weeing more? Check
Ravenous even though ill? Check
Sore boobs? Check
Brooking no argument? Check

This can all only mean one thing, Maybe - PEE IN THAT RAMEKIN! (Now When you want to that is)

PopcornMouse · 09/01/2012 10:22

:o Imps

Maybe I think increased caffeine makes you wee more, but you actually become accustomed to the level of caffeine you're drinking so that the effects start to drop off - so I dont think that decreasing your caffeine would make you wee less iykwim. Blush Now, PIAR! :o

PopcornMouse · 09/01/2012 10:23

i've just checked my CBFM far and it's gone up to bar 2 - that's high, right? Only it's only CD8 and the earliest I've ever ov'd is CD18 (and once as late as CD26!) -- so it must be automatic because it's my first cycle, right? I'm not actually in my high phase? Shock

The peestick looked exactly the same as yesterday's, the line wasn't any stronger... Confused

Imps7 · 09/01/2012 10:42

Hmmm seems as though my AF craving this month is onion rings - honestly, I would kill somebody to get my hands on some right now. People had better stay out of my way!

PopcornMouse · 09/01/2012 10:48

Mmmmm onion rings.... it's so hard to get good ones, though, isn't it? A bit like calamari :d

Imps7 · 09/01/2012 10:49

It's the cheap and nasty oven ones from the corner shop that I'm craving

NoMaybeAboutIt · 09/01/2012 10:55

I love a good onion ring. Mmmm, and a good bit of calamari, complete with garlic mayo

Pop that sounds confusing Hmm

I hardly have any caffeine normally, only 2-3 cups of tea, but thought I would be good this year and switch to decaff. I have just noticed that I have been weeing a bit more. I don't think it is anything to get my hopes up about though [been there too many times emoticon] Grin

NoMaybeAboutIt · 09/01/2012 10:56

Oh and Imps you are a terrible, terribe influence Grin I never say such things to others Wink

Imps7 · 09/01/2012 11:16

Hurrumph, I've just done my sums and thanks to commuting costs and less generous pension contribs in my new job, I'm going to be around £100 worse off each month even though I have a higher salary Angry. They haven't got scope to increase my salary at the new place - times are tight etc - but still, it's not exactly ideal is it? Bloody train companies fleecing hard working people out of their cash - £3000 a year out of people's net pay for a f**king train journey to somewhere which is less than 40 miles away. I could drive there in 45 mins (if I had a car).

Oh what a naff day. Glad I stayed at home. I just need to focus on how much happier I'll be at the new place, how miserable my current job makes me and how very soon I'll be on maternity leave!

PopcornMouse · 09/01/2012 11:29

Oh no, that's not good Imps. Just concentrate on how much happier you'll be! :)

NoMaybeAboutIt · 09/01/2012 11:36

Imps it's crazy isn't it. My train fare is over £300 a month, and I am lucky as I get a free Oyster Card, otherwise it would be even more Shock

But you are right to be thinking of the positives. You will be soooo much happier, and you will most defoo be up the duff very soon. My DH gave me pep talk last night when I got upset about how much I hate my work. As he rightly pointed out, I only have a year left, and I can use this year to get my what I want to do sorted (still wanting a baking business) and get pregnant Grin Clever DH!

Imps7 · 09/01/2012 11:44

It's a fking outrage, that's what it is Maybe.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 09/01/2012 11:50

Do some baking Imps it always relaxes me Smile

musicalmrs · 09/01/2012 13:26

So sorry about AF Imps. It'll be her last appearance for a while :) Plus, FAB news about the job, congrats! I was thinking only a couple of days ago "Did Imps ever say what happened about her job?" but didn't say anything in case I'd missed a post about it..!

My train fare isn't quite as bad as either yours or Maybe's at about £70 a week, but still a lot. Plus the commuting is rubbish :( Had a complete meltdown at the station this morning because I'd left something important at home (which I had to go back and collect) and subsequently managed to mislay my ticket, so had to buy another - even more cost this week. Blush

Think about the positives of the new job though! I'm going to switch jobs at some point, working in Essex rather than London (when the opportunity arises) - and will probably lose out too, but the amount I'll gain in not going stark raving crazy commuting into London every day will be worth it!

Farfalla, sorry about AF :( At least SWI falls at a wonderful time this month. And getting to have a proper chat with DH's aunt must have been nice - must have been nice to share what you are going through with someone who understands (I hope).

Maybe, when will you be PIAR?

Popcorn, maybe it's a first cycle thingy? Maybe it just needs a bit of time to get used to you?

Generic, so sorry to hear you're still not feeling right. Definitely have time off work, and definitely see the GP - your health is much more important than your importantness at work :)

Smegs - same thing happened to me when I got my Kindle! I'm slightly obsessed - even put documents for work on mine so I have an excuse to use it during the day!

Stasi · 09/01/2012 13:28

Morning all. Well, I'm back at work, did the early morning without too much trouble, but woke up to a big temp drop this morning so am expecting AF today. Suspect this is just a 9 day LP, which is very disappointing. I can't prove it though, as I don't know exactly when I ovulated. Maybe I just ov'd early.

Health kick is suffering a little today. I had home made veg soup, and have a selection of fruit here. You'd think my plan was fool proof, but I didn't take into account all the chocolate people would bring in after Christmas! Oh well.

Smegs good to see you're ok, and glad you're enjoying your kindle. I love mine. Sorry you've been feeling a bit down over the ttc stuff, we're here for you if you need us.

Imps Sorry AF has shown up for you, but well done on being positive about it. This month will be your month, I will accept no argument! Congratulations on the new job, when will you tell your current employers? I jealous of you working from home, I don't think I could have pulled that this morning, with it being my first day back in so long.

Generic definitely stay off work till you're feeling better. There's nothing worse than going in too early and making yourself worse. Get well soon!

Olives I too missed Sherlock Holmes, sounds like it was good though, so will watch it on catch up tonight maybe. I just went to Boots in my lunch break and bought B6 complex, Selenium and vit D. I've been meaning to buy some vit D for a while - apparently it's impossible to get enough naturally in Scotland as there's just not enough sun here. Lack of vit D has been implicated in a few cancer studies, and ME probably lots more too. My cancer consultant was telling me about a conference he was at a while back looking at new studies around vit D - he was so convinced by them he's now taking them, and has his wife and kids doing so too!

Far glad to hear your DH is being so wonderful, and your ov timing sounds perfect. I'm glad you had a chance to chat with someone who's been through lots and come out the other side. I find it helps me stay positive, even when I'm wishing I don't have to go through the same.

Maybe decaff tea shouldn't make you wee more, are you just drinking more of it? I find I drink far more decaff tea than I ever did normal. I do find I need about 1 pee per cup though :)

Pop no idea on the CBFM, sorry. I do kind of want to get one though. In a kind of related question - the internet cheapy OPKs I got say I need to leave the wee to come to room temp, and suggests leaving it for 30 mins. Does anyone do this? It means I've never done one, as I don't want to leave my wee hanging around that long!

I also focus on the limited time I have to go back to work for. Any time now I'll get pg and will be able to book my maternity leave. DH wants me to be a stay at home mum then, at least for a few years, then re-training into midwifery or teaching. I'll never have to come back to this job again. All I need is an obliging pee stick.

GreenOlives · 09/01/2012 13:30

Shock Angry at ridiculous train fares! It's a f**king liberty!
