Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

Those rats are jolly well going to be smacked this cycle and AF shall have arrows, hatred and misery cast upon her! No argument shall be brooked on both points.

Rubbish thread title, apologies.

The kitchenaid I want costs £419 Blush
It is ridiculously expensive but the money I have is in gift vouchers/money from my 30th. I've wanted one for years. I was hoping to get one for my wedding (years ago a group of us clubbed together to get our friends one for their wedding) but didn't. It's something I couldnt justify buying myself.

Btw everytime I see my GP he writes sub fertility all over my blood request cards, appointment cards etc. I HATE that phrase!

Happy New Year Ladies
Am cheering for our 2012 BFP, who is first to confirm what we already know???

Hope all goes well today for Generic Thanks

Munx you go girl, very impressed Xmas Grin

Pop my Mum has already started knitting all the family Christmas jumpers for next year Xmas Shock

Maybe loving the positive name change, shame Otis ate the fangomonitor - but made me smile

Sorry to hear all those with AF turning up over Christmas but at least you are geared up for the inevitable 2012 BFP

Am just doing the car and home insurance renewals fast losing the will to live so needed a bit of a break. Back to work tomorrow.

Think egg has popped, EWCM arrived yesterday but only very faint +ve OPK but hey ho. SWI has been good over the hols but as DH now has stinking cold not sure there will be a back up opportunity today plus I don't want his germs
SiL has offered me her old CBFM machine but I am not too keen on complicating things. Pop & Cupcakes you will have to let us know if you think it is a good thing.

whimsicalname · 03/01/2012 14:36

cupcakes and popcorn I have 'Medical background' at the top of my notes (both my parents are doctors, as are quite a few friends, and i have 'medically interesting' children).

I think it means 'she will quote statistics at you and is generally awkward'

Still, that (and sub fertile) are better than 'normal for Norfolk' or whatever the expression is...

Thanks for the soup sweetie. It's definitely soup weather here, but 'manky old pheasant' was dish of the day.

Munx · 03/01/2012 15:06

Afternoon all, lovely to see everybody back!

Well I have no clue what my body is up to, today's OPK is the thickest purplest line I have ever ever had and came up in thirty seconds and before the control line. The previous days positives have been only very dark on the edge.... But that was the positive I was use to.

Anyway, obviously this is THE positive test and hence DH has been informed that he must step up again tonight...fifth night in a row. Blimmin eck! Lots of clear cm as well so all looking good.

So I am going to assume ovulation tomorrow.

I fear my abilities in the kitchen are meagre at best, I would love to be more creative but.........

So am always interested to hear of the exploits of others..but I am more of an eater!

I do have a much loved le Crueset lasagne dish that I use for everything, pasta bakes, burritos.....the lot. I love the teal ones but mine is the traditional orange.

I do like the look of the kitchen aids.... Which reminds me celebrity bakeoff is on soon! Yay!

Lastly, generic thinking of you today and hoping all went as well as it could.

Big hellos to all brookers, and well done maybe that's a great attitude!

Munx · 03/01/2012 15:06

Oh and my medical notes? Well put it this way..... I pretty much need my own filing cabinet....... Grin

farfallarocks · 03/01/2012 15:13

Happy New Year rat smacketers!

Good to see generic back on hear, am thinking of you lots today, how horrible that you have to have an ERPC, will they test the baby this time as it your 3rd?
Good to hear that the doc did not think age was a factor. Hugs, it sucks that is all I can say on the matter.

olives I was sorry to hear about your chemical pregnancy, I know how heartbreaking it all is. My consultant did say that they are more normal than would think and that 70% of conceptions never end up implanting. I found that a comforting statistic but I appreciate we all deal with things differently so hugs to you too.

popcorn I am sorry you are sounding down, it sucks doesn't it?
I love the CBFM as it gives me a few days warning with the highs before the peak and it also appeases my control freak tendencies. DH does not know about it though so I have to be quite stealth like with the POAS.

maybe I love the new name.

Waves to everyone else :)
Right then rat smackers, 2012 has GOT to be our year right?

I was feeling very very positive although I did have a secret drunken cry on NYE when I went to bed at 3am (!!!!!!) as I should have been starting NCT this week and instead 2011 has just been a complete shocker.
I had a dildo cam scan this morning to check my lining and at 9dpo my lining is at 7.3mm. The sonographer said that it was 'normal' but everything I have read has said it needs to be 8mm for implantation, so another thing for me to google and obsess about. My periods have been quite light so I wonder if this is causing the chemicals as well. Will have to ask the consultant as I was unceremoniously ushered out of the scan room before I had a chance to press her on it.

Munx · 03/01/2012 15:22

Hiya far hope the scan wasn't too uncomfortable.

A shame you didn't get the time you needed to ask questions, are you due to see the consultant another time? Could you write the questions down to take with you? I did that for our appointment at the clinic last month.

I am with you regarding the crying, I cried ny eve too, I should have been telling everybody about my pregnancy this week... Not obsessively peeing on my OPKs!!!!

farfallarocks · 03/01/2012 15:39

Oh munx this year is going to be our year!!

I have a list of questions at the ready, thanks for the suggestion, its so easy to get bamboozled at the memory.

ps yes the scan was a bit ouchy, I have a retroverte uterus which apparently makes it slightly more uncomfortable. Also all that KY jelly makes me puke

PopcornMouse · 03/01/2012 15:51

Are still working your way through private tests, far? That sounds 'orrible Blush but worth it in the end I guess! When do you go back for results/a chat?

Poor Mr Munx! :o But yes, get in there! I'd do another one tomorrow, too, as it can take 24-36 hours to pop and you can still get upduffed on ovulation day I think?

Do we know who's due to confirm next? :)

farfallarocks · 03/01/2012 15:53

Hi popcorn, yes I am going for a 2nd opinion this week with someone who specialises in PCOS. He also does the NK cell testing so I am hoping I will have it covered either way (!!!!!!!)

Loooopy · 03/01/2012 17:43

errrr....popcorn i might have done what you said and POAS again just now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BFP on a first response, backed up by a second BFP on a digital clearblue as 1-2 weeksGrin

oh my god, i am shaking!!!

cannot believe it has happened this quick the second time. Feel bit bad for harping on as most of you are far more deserving than me.

omg.

still none the wise re when i ovulated or due date or anything and just hoping it's a very sticky bean, as if i ovulated CD17 then that makes today 20 dpo so would have expected 2-3 weeks on the digital, but then again maybe tomorrow or the day after it would say 2-3 anyhow?

soooooooooooo happy!!!!!!

Munx · 03/01/2012 17:49

Many many congratulations Looooopy Grin excellent news!

The first 2012 Brookers BFP!!!!!

Have you found the antenatal thread? link

Though we fully expect regular updates here, please don't think that you have to go to the new thread never to return! We have lots of people who come back and forget between the two. Everybody there is lovely and you will be very welcome indeed.

I am sure I speak on behalf of everybody when I say congratulations!

We will all get our 2012 BFPs, no one is 'more deserving' I am confident we will be following you shortly.

Much love xx

Munx · 03/01/2012 18:01

Forth not forget...... Sheesh.

Blush Grin

Imps7 · 03/01/2012 18:03

Bloody well done love!! So pleased that we have our first BFP of 2012!!! The No Brooking Co. Ltd strikes again!! You must be feeling on top of the world!!

Imps7 · 03/01/2012 18:04

Oh, and I think I speak for everyone when I say that no one on this thread will ever tell another Brooker that it's not fair that one got a BFP before another. Genuinely delighted for you Grin

BeedleTheBard · 03/01/2012 18:34

Ooh loooooooopy massive congratulations, it just shows that even the most up and down charts can be hiding a BFP Grin

NoMaybeAboutIt · 03/01/2012 18:36

Oh Loooopy well done you

I second Imps no one will ever say it's not fair Smile

Maybe the reason it's only saying 1-2 weeks is because your pee is to dilute?

Far the whole camera up the fanjo business does not sound fun at all. Though the results are positive, no?

This egg is going to be the egg my lovely, you wait and see.

Pop it's not a JL sock club, its this one

NoMaybeAboutIt · 03/01/2012 18:37

Ooooh, and Whim I knit socks mainly for myself, I love them. But I love all socks. Almost as much as pyjamas Grin

GreenOlives · 03/01/2012 18:48

Evening all!

Grin Grin Great news Looopy, only 3 days into the new year and we have our first BFP! Don't you be feeling guilty - we will be right behind you as the BFPs are going to flying in thick & fast this year! Grin

CupcakesAndCocktails · 03/01/2012 18:55

Congrats Loooy, I can't believe we have the first BFP of the year GrinSmileGrinSmile

Far the dildo cam does not sound fun. The lining has to be 8mm thick?! With all the things that need to happen for an egg to implant it seems impossible that anyone ever gets pregnant.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 03/01/2012 19:22

Cupcakes that is so true. I have been and bought out Sainsbury's vitamin aisle. Instead of just taking Pregnacare, I have decided to take a multivitamin, omega-3 capsule, folic acid and b-bit complex. Taking 4 different tablets makes me feel like I am trying harder Grin Grin

Munx · 03/01/2012 20:00

I am officially SWI'd out.

That is all.

As you were!

SweetieDoesIt · 03/01/2012 20:02

Congratulation Looooooopy pleased for you and your DH. GrinGrinGrin

Maybe I have also been and stocked up on a multitude of conception aids, -ok some of them I have read and am willing to give a go Such as the normal vitamins etc. I will be rattling my way in to 2012!!

Congrats again Loooooopy

NoMaybeAboutIt · 03/01/2012 21:02

Grin Munx I award you the medal for most impressive swi Grin

Have you got some strange ones then Swetie Wink

Turns out I do have a throat and chest infection. But my nice GP refused to give me antibiotics until I know for sure if I am upduffed. I am allergic to penicillin and apparently all the others are a bit risky if I do in fact turn out to be preggers

whimsicalname · 03/01/2012 21:08

Great news loooopy. I'm shaking my pompoms for you. And you munx. All that SWI-ing is worthy of a shake or two.

Mr Whim and I read a Jack Reacher book over Christmas (guilty secret) where they keep dtd while a great big train is going by. Now every time we dtd we end up making choo choo noises after. Possibly not adding to the romance.
