Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

Those rats are jolly well going to be smacked this cycle and AF shall have arrows, hatred and misery cast upon her! No argument shall be brooked on both points.

Rubbish thread title, apologies.

OP posts:
PopcornMouse · 30/12/2011 16:01

Totally, I was really Shock It's 100kcal for 25g of Cathedral City and 75kcal for 25g of brie :o

PopcornMouse · 30/12/2011 16:02

And yes, Popcorn sized quantities are still deadly. Especially combined with fresh bread or cream crackers :o

PopcornMouse · 30/12/2011 16:04

........and Brie works out at 105kcal per 25g - so comparable to cheddar :o

PopcornMouse · 30/12/2011 16:04

By brie I mean stilton Blush

Imps7 · 30/12/2011 16:08

Well, from now on I say "pah!" to hard cheeses and "welcome!" to soft cheeses. Ooh this has made my day!

PopcornMouse · 30/12/2011 16:17

:o

Hi Ladies on the eve of the eve of 2012 - the year for us Brookers

Pop Sorry to hear of the BFN, those pee sticks are damn difficult to get a good one. Be careful out there my dear, do we need to warn people in your area of the Madonna like cuppage going on? Xmas Wink

Loving the cheese conversations, we still have a pile of cheese we haven't even touched. I am thinking it will just get binned at some point soon - Imps you are the freezer guru?? can you freeze cheese?

Stasi good luck with DH SA, I would just ask him to do it and take it from there. If he prefers to wait a little while until Christmas excesses are over and done with it wouldn't be such a bad thing.

Think I am CD9 so will start OPK testing today, hoping to get some serious SWI over the next few days as we don't go back to work until Wed. A few more opportunities before the world of work over takes our lives again. Xmas Sad

Imps7 · 30/12/2011 16:53

Sweetie you can definitely freeze hard cheese! I sometimes grate it all into a big bag and then freeze it so there's always grated cheese on hand. The best thing to do is to open freeze it spread out on a tray and once frozen then transfer it to a bag - that way it won't all freeze together in one clump.

Soft cheese probably won't freeze (although am happy to stand corrected on this) but will happily sit in the fridge for ages - the more it matures, the nicer it is (within reason!).

2012 is our year and there is no doubt about that!

GreenOlives · 30/12/2011 20:44

Hello my lovelies! Hope you are all well. I am feeling a bit brighter again after my near miss - I've decided that it is great to have had a fertilised egg so soon after the ectopic, at least I know it's still possible to get pregnant! I have also had a long chat with DH and depending on our RMC results appt in February we may investigate whether we can afford to get tested privately for NK cells as that would be the only thing that hasn't been checked. Onwards & upwards!

On the cheese front I have to say that despite LOVING every kind of cheese I am a firm believer that you can't beat an extra mature cheddar. As I am capable of eating my own body weight in cheese I do usually buy the 30% less fat version However at Christmas time it's full fat of every variety (and real butter - mmmm!)

Happy New Year to one and all! xxx

whimsicalname · 30/12/2011 21:08

mmm cheeeeese...

You can freeze blue cheese too. Our stilton was about to wander off by itself, so I've frozen it for another time. I don't think it would make good eating cheese once defrosted, but will be fine for soup (voice of experience)

The texture of goats cheese goes a bit funny, but it's fine for cooking too after freezing.

I think freezing cheese might be my special master mind subject.

Also, we should eat lots of toxic tasty cheese, because next month we'll all be pregnant, and won't be allowed it.

Imps7 · 31/12/2011 07:39

Morning ladies!

Just a quick one from me before I head to the kitchen to start making spring rolls, crispy duck, pancakes and plum sauce for starter/lunch (oooooh, get me!).

Wishing you all a happy evening tonight, and an even happier and rat smackier 2012.

Imps xx

BeedleTheBahHumbug · 31/12/2011 07:59

Morning imps, morning everyone else too.

olives glad you're feeling better

Just wanted to wish everyone a very happy 2012, full of successful rat smacking? Grin

Biscuitsandtea · 31/12/2011 08:03

Morning rat smackers Smile

Just wanted to wish you all a Happy New Year - 2012 is going to be your year so I will see you all on the ante natal thread imminently.

Just think with your sept/oct babies you'll all be able to maximise your enjoyment of the Olympics as your OHs insist you take it easy in your heavily pregnant state. WinkSmile

Have a great night one and all xx

Munx · 31/12/2011 08:24

Morning all (it's munkiii I have dropped all the i's for new year)

I posted yesterday but it disappeared?! Anyway just wanted to say happy new year to you all.

Big fuzzy head due to cold and ill baby so can't remember everything but good to see Stasi back and hope green feeling a little better.

pop still in the game this month? Fingers crossed.......

CD 15ish I think here.

Danish pastries and nice coffee all round.......

PopcornMouse · 31/12/2011 10:17

Imps that sounds amazing
I am making my favourite carrot and lentil soup for lunch for the coming week, as my local co-op didn't have any heinz in stock (only three different brands of chicken Hmm ). It's something of an experiment, but I'm thinking it can't be difficult!

Olives I think that's a very positive attitude :)
How long have you been ttc? I am surprised not many places test for immune problems, but going private for one test should hopefully not be too expensive.

AF due today but she hasn't shown up yet. Feeling very bloaty and heavy, though, so I think it's a matter of time...

GreenOlives · 31/12/2011 11:58

The Chinese themed starter/lunch does indeed sound lovely, crispy duck is my favourite!

I've been trying for no.2 for 2.6 years now pop, have had 4 pregnancies in that time now if you count my chemical last week. First 2 were early miscarriages, 3rd was ectopic. I am starting to think that there might be more than bad luck to blame, from enquiring on another thread I think that a consultation and then tests for NK cells will be about £500ish which is not too bad but if I do have high levels and need treatment I'm not sure we can afford the ongoing costs. All the other immunology tests have been done on the NHS and I've had a sneaky peak whilst at work and they seem to be ok so the only results that I don't know about are the chromosome tests on me and DH which I'll find out the results for at our next appt. Bloated and heavy is also a bona fide preggo symptom so I'm still brooking hard for a very happy start to the New Year in the Popcorn household Grin

PopcornMouse · 31/12/2011 13:34

Gosh Olives I didn't realise it had been so long for you. I'm glad the NHS has been thorough and it is really positive that nothing has come back as abnormal. That is a lot of money, but I suppose peace of mind either way would be worth it? And if the test were to come back as positive, would it be possible to get your NHS GP to fund treatment?

Still no AF; I usually start in the morning, though it's not unheard of to start later in the day, so I'm thinking she will probably rear her ugly head tomorrow, now. If it's not here in the a.m. I might use my last cheap-o pg test... Shock

GenericDietCola · 31/12/2011 14:23

Ooh Popcorn - no AF yet and feeling bloated and heavy? That sounds very good to me!

GreenOlives so sorry to hear of your chemical - you really are due for some good luck as are we all in 2012.

Imps your cooking sounds amazing as usual!

I had my re-scan yesterday and it confirmed the miscarriage, so I am going for an ERPC on Tuesday, then I will back to Brooking No Argument for a 2012 baby. The consultant didn't think age was a factor and stressed that lots of women don't start families until they are 40-ish, so take note all you older wiser rat smackers out there!

Happy 2012 to everyone and may this be the year we all get to meet our babies. X

Munx · 31/12/2011 14:28

Very impressed with all th cookery skills!

Green and Generic extra brooking coming your way.......

Pop I am crossing everything for you...

generic I hope that Tuesday goes smoothly, I have no experience of EPRC as both my MC ended up being completely passed naturally. But I will be thinking of you, and looking forward to you being back here for mutual handholding. There are quite a few of us TTC post MC here.

I do hope everybody has a good evening tonight and I would like to thank all of you for all your kindness and support this year.

Xx

GenericDietCola · 31/12/2011 14:40

Hey Munx love the new name and not having to check how many iiiis in your name!

This will be my third ERPC! My body is determined to hang onto every pregnancy even when it shouldn't. I'm so glad of the support from everyone on here and especially the TTC postMC-ers.

Munx · 31/12/2011 14:44

Oh Generic I'm so sorry, how tactless of me Sad

I remember now, from previous threads. Apologies again.

Glad to be of service regarding the i's they were beginning to annoy me too..

TheLittleFriend · 31/12/2011 14:46

Hi everyone, Here's wishing you all a Very Happy New Year.

I can't wait for all your bfp's to come flooding in in 2012. xx

GenericDietCola · 31/12/2011 14:47

Not tactless at all, please don't worry. I suppose an ERPC is 'easier' in a way (that's probably not the right word, but you know what I mean). Hope you get your baby soon too.

Munx · 31/12/2011 14:48

Indeed, onwards and upwards eh!

Nice to see you little how are you getting on?

Biscuitsandtea · 31/12/2011 15:28

Generic - hope Tuesday passes as 'easily' as possible - I know 'easy' isn't the right word but you know what I mean.

Do you know if you will have any testing for RMC? Sorry if that's a tactless question Confused

Do take care of yourself xx
