Those rats are jolly well going to be smacked this cycle and AF shall have arrows, hatred and misery cast upon her! No argument shall be brooked on both points.

Rubbish thread title, apologies.

Hi loopy

After the birth of DD my cycles went a bit bananas, ranged from 26 to 56 days. They have settled down now.

Why not test just to set your mind at rest? If you did ovulate when you think you may have then there will certainly be enough HCG for detection.

Can't give much advice other than that........how old is your DD? This is your first cycle after BF isn't it? I had a funny couple of months and then things settled down again.

Fingers crossed! May be worth stocking up on Internet cheapies for the future...except you won't need them of course! Brooking hard......

Stasi · 28/12/2011 22:47

Evening all. Just a quick post from me. Family all left today, so the house is back to being nice and quiet. Haven't yet enjoyed it though, as we were out visiting other relatives from shortly after my set left.

Still, some swi this evening should have us on track for ov. On cd14 now, with ov usually on 15 or 16. will try for more tomorrow or fri morning. I've not done any temps this cycle. Sleeping on an airbed is not conducive to getting a good nights sleep and an accurate temp.

This is our last chance for an ironic bfp before appointment with consultant on 12 Jan. We got dhs results back for sa, but it was a useless letter. No details at all, just said something like "low motility possible due to debris is sample. They have asked you do a new sample produced on site, fro. Which i think they mean you will have to do it there. Please come get a new form and pot." Nothing useful from there, so I'll phone them this week and see if we can get that done.

Am on phone, so going to stop here. Will post properly tomorrow after catching up on everything. Hope everyone is well.

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 29/12/2011 07:00

Morning everyone!

Stasi that results letter sounds deeply frustrating - hopefully you'll be able to get SA re-done before your consultants appt on 12 Jan. How do you feel about the appointment? Hope you're feeling positive about it, rather than worried or anything.

Sweetie it may be worth getting checked out to put your mind at rest. Failed implantation is surprisingly common, I'm lead to believe by my pregnancy book, but that's not to say that it wouldn't be a good idea to get it looked into.

Far and Stasi you can be my 2ww buddies - egg popped yesterday as predicted. I got a bit cross with Mr Imps - he knew it was egg popping day but had 2 beers on the way home from work and 2 glasses of red wine when he got home so there was an SWI fail. I was very calm about it but told him I was disappointed (just what my parents used to say to me when I was caught under-age drinking or whatever!! God, the thought that I'm turning into my parents is not a good one Confused Grin) and I think that did the trick as he was very apologetic this morning so I'm guessing that's the last time he does that!

In all honesty I think SWI last night would have been a little late anyway as I'm sure egg popped in the morning - had awful pains on Tuesday which had gone away by mid morning yesterday. We had a lovely shag Tuesday night so we're still in the game!

Right, work today - BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Oh, and just to update - the first Brooking Baby has arrived!!! Hawthers had a CS yesterday and gave birth to a bonny baby boy!!

Sorry far I misunderstood Blush I did wonder what hepparin would do for an immune problem :o

Loopy I really don't think you should worry. FF may be right, you may not have ovulated yet - I think it's normal to have some really long cycles when you're first getting your periods back. Just keep shagging brooking, that egg will pop eventually!

Oooo Stasi that's really exciting! I hope it goes well :)

Wow, Imps, I didn't realise the brookers had been around that long! That's wonderful news :)

I resisted the urge to POAS this morning (12dpo, AF due day after tomorrow). I am finding the 2ww increasingly more stressful and upsetting as time goes on, and I'm not sure what, if anything, I can do about that. I keep reminding myself that although it's been 10 months, it's only been 7 or 8 cycles or whatever it was, but I just can't seem to visualise myself getting that BFP, you know? Confused Sorry, think it's the AF pregnancy hormones whinging talking!

SantaAndHisChristmasImps · 29/12/2011 11:18

Oh Popcorn it never gets easier, does it? The visualisation is a tricky thing, isn't it? I can't really see it happening either, but that really doesn't mean that it won't. I haven't got any bright ideas for making the 2ww any better - I wish there was some magic cure!

Oooh it's freezing in my office today. They switched the heating off over Christmas and it's like the arctic in here now

Arggg, I just ordered a job lot of pee sticks from Amazon and they've got a bloody "share this purchase on Facebook" button!! Yes of course I want to tell all my friends what I've been buying on Amazon, particularly when my purchase is 25 pregnancy tests Hmm. Unbelievable. I used to like using FB but I'm rapidly going off it.

farfallarocks · 29/12/2011 12:11

Ooooh not at all, I am also looking into the immune issue if nothing happens in the next few months!!

popcorn try not to get down heartened, hard I know, but as you say, its only been 7/8 cycles which is really not that much at all. hugs!

imps sorry ot hear about the sex fail although as you say, most likely the Tuesday night session will have been sufficient!!!!
Good luck with the ironic BFP stasi

whimsicalname · 29/12/2011 13:49

Hi everyone
hope you've all had a good Christmas. We mostly have, but it's all been pretty full on.

Sorry to hear bad news from some of you, and that others are feeling sad.

I had really hoped this would be our month, after all my viva stress last month, but no, AF arrived, 4 days early (after a dose of festive thrush for good measure), which makes me suspicious of what actually has been going on.

Still, at least I get to drink at new year. Then I think we'll seriously hit the healthy wagon and go back to peeing on sticks.

WRT cycle lenght looopy, mine is usually 32 days, but I had a phase just as i started ttc where each cycle was a day longer than the one before. I think it started at 30 and went up to 34 over the next 4 months. Every month i thought i was pregnant, and every month I wasn't. Very annoying. It settled down a bit, but now seems to have gone awry again.

SmegTheHalls · 29/12/2011 14:03

Hi everyone. Hope you all had great christmas celebrations. I'm back home briefly, but heading off again later today. Had my day 21 blood test this morning, and not a moment too soon as AF appears to be imminent. And I have a monster spot brewing for New Years. Yay - not.

Sorry to hear AF got you whimsical, and some other brookers. She's so ill-mannered!

Keep warm, Imps, surely there's some elf n' safety rules about minimum temperatures at work? Hot drinks! With booze! That's the ticket Wink.

Chin up, Popcorn - we're allowed to be sad, but we are brookers and we WILL smack that rat! (Too much? Sorry!).

PopcornMouse · 29/12/2011 19:39

Thanks Imps, far and smeg, you guys are wonderful. I'm on the verge of terrifying DH so I can't vent to him right now :o I decided, earlier, that although I can't picture the BFP, I can visualise actually being fat pregnant, and I felt a bit better about that. I've just ordered a stress book-and-hypnotherapy-CD combo; I'm really, really bad at managing stress, maybe this will give me some techniques to deal with it better :)

Ohhhh Imps I hate that FB is worming its way into ever facet of our lives. I'd like to delete my account, actually, but I need access to manage work's FB page so I can't Hmm and there's no way to just wipe your wall, so I'm stuck with it Confused

Sorry that AF got you, whimsy She's a spiteful old hag and I hope she doesn't get many customers in 2012 - especially not us! Xmas Angry

Imps7 · 29/12/2011 22:43

It's funny you say that Pops - I can visualise getting a positive pee stick and actually having a child, but I absolutely cannot visualise telling people that I'm pregnant or giving birth. Just cannot see it at all. Bizarre! Just hope the pee sticks don't listen to me!

Right, off to bed.

Imps7 · 30/12/2011 07:44

Morning all!

Feel a bit like I've been hit by a truck this morning - have massively overslept and am exhausted. This means that I am definitely upduffed, hurrah.

FF thinks I ovulated on Tuesday, but I'm sure it was Wednesday - what does everyone think?? Tuesday doesn't really make sense with my temps which have been a little higher than normal this cycle, for some reason.

Hope everyone's doing okay today - what NYE plans do you have?

PopcornMouse · 30/12/2011 09:41

Imps I think considering the rest of your temps were a bit higher, it could have been Wednesday. I think it might be going on the EWCM?

BFN today (I couldn't help myself!), I'm 13dpo - AF will be arriving with an "I told you so" grin tomorrow :(

BeedleTheBahHumbug · 30/12/2011 10:01

imps could have been tues or weds -I'm not really much help am I Xmas Grin maybe it could have been quite late on Tues as you didn't get a massive rise in temp till Thurs.

Boo to the BFN pop, but its not over till its over - at least if she arrives tomorrow you'll be able to drown her in copious quantities of champagne!

smegs wasn't your 21 day test a bit late if you think AF is about to arrive? Do you have a doctor that insisted it must be done on day 21 even if you've got a short/long cycle

And grrr to AF whimsical and extra grrr for being early, how dare she.

I'm at work all alone - so I've hardly done anything work related so far. I'm learning how to use a new computer program so it nothing that my boss can measure. So I'm being exceptionally lazy.

I think I should ov tomorrow - so I'm hoping for some rat smacking soon - we haven't managed any since tues.

Stasi · 30/12/2011 10:05

Morning all. I'm posting quickly from my phone while I've got the chance. Yesterdays day of doing nothing went by very quickly, with me not spending any time in the computer. DH and i are enjoying being home alone after the Christmas madness.

I think I'm going to start temping again tomorrow morning. It should be ov today, so i won't get much useful from temping, except when not to expect AF.

I'm looking forward to my consultant appointment. I'd like to hear what he's got to say, and what his suggested next steps are. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much though. I realized yesterday i almost think he's going to wave a magic wand and I'll be pg next cycle... Still, I've never talked to a doctor about ttc and how long it could take etc. so it should be a good talk, hopefully.

I've not yet told DH i want him to do another SA next week. What would people advise with the new year excesses? Will it affect his count if we do the sample early next week?

I will try my hardest to check in again later and comment on people other than myself. I don't mean to be selfish, its just so hard to check back on phone posts.

PopcornMouse · 30/12/2011 10:14

I'm of the opinion that your DH should do the SA anyway; a SA where he's abstained for a week and hasn't drunk or smoked if that's not normally how he lives his life isn't really going to be of benefit iykwim - you need to see if lifestyle factors are coming in to play and affecting DHs sperm.

Of course, we've never had a SA and I'm seeing things from the perspective of a DH who drinks too much alcohol and caffeine and enjoys a good a wank and is in denial about any of those things being a problem :o

Imps7 · 30/12/2011 10:24

I agree with the SA - there's no particular harm in doing it now and if it shows below average results, your DH can do another one in a couple of months or so after the Christmas excesses are in the dim and distant past. On the other hand, if the results come back all okay, you'll know that your DH has super-sperm who laugh in the face of excess!

Glad your feeling positive about the appointment - it will be interesting to see what the consultant has to say.

Pop - BOOOOO to BFN. What are your temps doing?

Beedle, laziness at work is to be expected between Christmas and New Year and for the rest of the year too, in my case

Imps7 · 30/12/2011 10:59

Hmmm, I've just noticed that I wrote "I agree with the SA..." in my previous post when I meant to write "I agree with Pops..." in my previous post. Bet that's the first time you've ever been confused with a sperm analysis Pops, isn't it Grin

Imps7 · 30/12/2011 11:11

Oop, repetition of "in my previous post" in my previous post Grin.

BeedleTheBahHumbug · 30/12/2011 11:13

Grin at imps Grin at imps

PopcornMouse · 30/12/2011 14:37

:o Imps & beedle

I haven't temped this month, but generally they don't drop before AF anyway - it takes about a week after AF starts to get to pre-ov levels again.

Had some retail therapy this morning and feel ok, tbh. I went to Bravissimo after reading something in AIBU a few months back, and came out wearing a bra a chest size smaller and 2 cup sized bigger than I'd normally buy, and feeling infinitely more supported seriously, I'm in danger of poking someone's eye out.

Imps7 · 30/12/2011 15:00

Excellent work on the nork holders Pops! Being of petite breastage, I am not really in need of any support at all. At least I do not pose a danger to people's vision, I suppose!

I have a craving for brie! This is a clear sign that I am with child! Yay!

PopcornMouse · 30/12/2011 15:21

Ahh, I fondly remember the distant days where I could breeze about bra-free, Imps!

I had a revelation the other day, imps - Brie is less calorific than cheddar Shock I am now never buying cheddar again - brie and grape sarnies are the way forward

Imps7 · 30/12/2011 15:27

Is it really??? Shock But brie is so much nicer than cheddar!! This completely flies in the face of the rule which states that everything nice must be unhealthy
