I'm off to thank God I'm alive Xmas Grin then have a pretty lazy afternoon planned. Perhaps continuing to add values to the items on the inventory that have been binned...imagine having to google '1 large inflatable penis'...hen do gift, honest!

KatAndKit · 11/12/2011 09:32

Ahhhh I have had my first nice sleep in a week. That feels better! And I have a roast beef dinner to look forward to chez the outlaws. Sundays are good. Hopefully in a bit MrKat will get out of bed and make me my poached egg muffin :)

Am still in De Nile about Christmas. Must actually buy some presents soon or else it will snow or something and they will all get stuck in the internet as happened last year. We don't even have any decorations up yet!

Awayinamangercooper · 11/12/2011 09:33

Better than having to put "one small inflatable penis" I suppose.

SantasCave · 11/12/2011 09:37

Frosty I'm doing a distance learning degree in the Horseracing Industry (where I work). It sounds a bit "mickey mouse" but it's very helpful for my future career and covers everything from equine psychology to marketing and business studies. I'm in year 2 of 6 Shock, so a long way to go yet!

So on top of my full-time job, I am studying a part-time degree, training for dance teacher qualifications, teaching a weekly salsa class and trying to make a baybee! Just call me SuperCave Wink

cavey warwick? I probably know your lecturers. In my distant past I went to agri college and I know at least one who was lecturing there until v recently.

AriesWithBellsOn · 11/12/2011 11:02

Cavey, Black Beauty is on shortly. That should be helpful, non? Is it worth me watching Strictly on iPlayer? I am trying to limit internet usage as we keep going WAY over the bandwidth limit thing and failing utterly.

SantasCave · 11/12/2011 11:07

Harry's Waltz & Chelsee's Paso are def worth watching. Alex was ok, but a bit meh. Holly's AT was pretty good, but she lost it on her Charleston. Jason, I thought, didn't cope with the Samba and was ridiculously overmarked for his AT, which although it looked fab, was because Kristina was amazing!

The individual dances may well be on YouTube which might save you some usage?

SantasCave · 11/12/2011 11:10

Sorry Pone, yes it's through Warwick. Meg Fuller is my tutor but the names of the lecturers temporarily escape me!
I did an ND in Horse Mabagement when I left school, so I know all the basics of anatomy, physiology, etc, but looking at the learning pack for this module they want us to get very in depth, talking about veterinary terminology (medial, dorsal, cranial, etc). Eek!

MadameBoo · 11/12/2011 11:31

Cavey I am VERY interested to know more about dance teaching. I danced for 9 years (ballroom and latin). I got as far as my premier award which was the last exam you could take at my dance school. I have forgotten nothing. I would love to start my own teaching and ditch my job.

MadameBoo · 11/12/2011 11:33

When I say I've forgotten nothing I mean I still know all the dances - it may take a while for all the names of the individual steps to come back although I always know what they're on about on Strictly.

MadameBoodolf · 11/12/2011 11:58

Northey, I concur. Your idea was best. So here I am. Can I have a carrot please?

SantasCave · 11/12/2011 12:03

Boo I'm working my way through the ISTD syllabus. I've not taken any teaching exams yet as I'm still learning all the dances (concentrating on Latin for the moment, though I am doing a bit of Ballroom with HWHNN). I've almost got through all 5 up to the Associate level (which I think relates to Silver Medal).

The key thing is not just knowing the figures, but being able to answer questions from the examiner like how could you vary the figure, what figures might precede or follow, etc. Obviously you have to be able to dance as man and woman.

MadameBoodolf · 11/12/2011 12:04

I can dance man. Is it expensive?

FrostytheSunshine · 11/12/2011 12:21

Jealous of the dancers. I have no coordination.

Cave how do you find the time to do all those things?!

AlpinePony · 11/12/2011 12:30

frosty join me then! The closest I've ever come to dancing is lurching across a sticky dance floor clutching a pint and in hot pursuit of prey! ;)

baubles where did you do your degree? I'm looking for something and right now London external seems to be the most financially viable option for me. Although would prefer a BSc. In equine...

arial I am under the impression that the iplayer is streaming instead of downloading, I am also under the impression that this means something?

SantasCave · 11/12/2011 12:48

Boo I don't think the exams are that expensive. Cost really depends on who you train with to prepare for the exams. I pay £36 an hour for lessons with my teacher, but she is also an examiner and very well respected in the dance world so can get away with charging that much!

I dance like a cow on ice.

Sounds good that you at least fancy the sechs today, baubs. Are you not allowed to do it until the bleeding has stopped? I guess it's a bit different from normal droidal sechsing.

HaveUrselfAFaithyChristmasBaby · 11/12/2011 13:25

If you blub, it's because you need to. Christmas is a vairy emotional time so no-one will blink an eye. Take some tissues.
Is that physically not over it?
