Morning!

dame I will find out more when I go back the week after next. OH went last night and got his little pot to do his SA - that will fill him with deep joy!! I suppose at the moment we are doing initial 'investigation' and I presume I need to be quite specific as to what lengths we are prepared to go to .... do we see IVF as the goal ... tbh I am not sure :(

I can get pregnant, I have managed it twice and we have DS but he would love a sibling. I think now he is at school he is aware that he doesn't have a brother or sister and most of his class do.

I am off now to tackle huge pile of ironing and watch The Wright Stuff

Ciao. Ciao, Ciao

xx

Macaroons · 11/01/2012 09:19

Good luck all! This is the first thread I posted on mumsnet so I hope there are more BFPs here!! Grin

Zara1984 · 12/01/2012 11:40

I feel like I am the last one left on the train!!

CD 38, still no AF, lots of BFNs, including one this morning with FMU. Even though I didn't get a peak/sign of ovulation this month with my Clearblue monitor, I did have nearly 2 weeks of high days so am guessing I must have ovulated sometime in that period! And that was nearly a month ago! So surely I am not pregnant otherwise I would've had a BFP by now! What on earth is going on?????

Feeling fed up that in my first month of trying - after two months of being -perfectly normal after coming off the pill - my body decides to act bonkers and delay my AF or a BFP for no bloody good reason.

One of my friends had a lovely little boy yesterday, absolutely delighted but frustrated that I'm in no man's land before I'm even out out the starting gate!

Right, self-pitying rant OVER!!!! :D

jencd · 13/01/2012 08:10

Hi Zara I'm still onboard too, got BFN this morning too :( but no AF.... feel exactly the same as you!

Zara1984 · 13/01/2012 23:46

It's so damn frustrating isn't it, jen?!?! Have you got any AF or pg symptoms? I have none except bloating really... But that could be more due to post-Xmas and the big spicy Sichuan dinner I had tonight...!

Not sure what else I can do except test and wait... And drive myself bonkers! What will you do if AF doesn't come for another week, 2 weeks etc? Have decided I will call doc to make appt on 7 Feb if nothing by then.... am sure (!!??) I will be sorted by then but just wanted a fixed date to do something about it!!!

jencd · 14/01/2012 10:54

It's really weird, i've had sore breasts for ten days, normally i have that for one week before AF, but now sore breasts, no cramps, no AF, no BFP. I'll wait another week til I test again... guess that's all that can be done. I went to the docs last month and he advised me to start temping which I've been doing so not much else to dop except rely on nature to take one course or the other! :)

Zara1984 · 16/01/2012 21:19

Day 42 (feels like day 142) and no period.... enormous sore boobs. BFN again.

ARRRRGH.

Jen, you still there? Anyone else?

dameflamingo · 16/01/2012 22:28

I'm still bloody here! although its a nice train really I was hoping to have reached a station by now!

Day 40 for me no AF in sight (and holding up next GP appt) and BFP either. Where is everyone else?

jencd · 17/01/2012 09:15

Im off :( AF arrived last night! may as well get her a Brew, let her get her feet up for a few days and hope I don't see her for another 10 months or so!

Good luck to the remaining few! Grin

Lexie1970 · 17/01/2012 11:52

I'm here but had trundled over to the shuttle :)

On CD26 POAS, switched on machine and told me stick not required so that one was wasted :(

So..... no highs or peaks on monitor, temp chart is telling me zip, just goes up and down constantly - I imagine it to be gentle waves teasing me

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2f779a/

Have my appointment at docs tomorrow to chat about blood tests etcand next steps - no feelings that AF may be on the way so it is pretty certain I have not ov this month. I am effectively on the bench waiting for AF grrrrr

dameflamingo · 17/01/2012 15:04

are we all trundling our lugage over to the new space shuttle Lexie? is that the plan? I'm fairly new to all this so not sure how it all works!!
We could buy a group ticket! what do you think jen lexie zara ?
Anyhoo lets keep the old spirits up ( she says through a bottle of gin). It will happen..it will.

Lexie1970 · 17/01/2012 20:01

with our crappy cycles I reckon we are best off waiting for F1 version (sure the season starts soon? Grin ) and mark our places on the grid when somebody sets that up. I'm new to all this too and the space shuttle left directly after the polar express so I hopped on board - ye Gods we do talk a funny language on MN Grin Grin

Did somebody say gin -mnnnn I'll have a Hendricks please xxxx

Macaroons · 18/01/2012 10:03

I hope the space shuttle will take you to where you want to be! Good luck and am thinking of you gals!Wink

Lexie I had a quick look at your chart, it's bumpy. I only charted for 1 cycle and got lucky so I'm not an expert in charting, but what I found is that the thermometer changes its mind within a few minutes so what I used to do is take a few temperature, and usually go with the highest. Because I think your body must be that hot for the thermometer to say that. (i think sometimes it beeps too soon, before it catches the correct temp. ). Good luck!

Lexie1970 · 19/01/2012 11:54

aahhh Macaroons you are sweet but I will be vacating this polar express and the shuttle

I had my docs appointment yesterday to discover my levels were the following:

FSH 74.7 with lab reference of 23 - 116

LH 33.8 with lab reference of 15.9 - 54

My only concern is that these bloods were drawn on CD13 and having read into this (desperately clutching at straws) bloods need to be done by CD3 for base reading.

I appear to be post menopausal at the grand age of 41 years and 8 months - devastated doesn't even adequately describe it. However after sobbing my heart out I rang the fertility clinic in Cambridge and I am booked in for AMH on Monday and have consultation on 16th March to see whether we are in with a chance of ever having baby #2.

This afternoon I am waiting for a call back from my GP as when I left I could barely think straight. I had bloods taken in May 2011 and all came back within normal range and no problems indicated - how on earth can I go from normal to post menopausal in just 6 months????

So that is me girls - when I think that I have held on to all my baby things - cots, prams, high chairs and of course all the baby clothes, it is making me tearful now thinking they may all have to go even though I have DP saying money is no object (within reason) and we need to explore every avenue.

Lexie

I don't know what to say but I cannot be silent - apologies therefore for the clumsiness of this reply.

I read your post and am having a few tears on your behalf, you sound so bereft and I know that things will be really raw at the moment. So sorry that you results were as they were, cannot express how sorry, I have fingers and toes crossed that your next conversation gives you some more comforting news and avenues to follow.

I cannot let it pass without saying that mumsnet is meant to be a safe place where you can say what you are thinking/feeling and garner the support of the group. That's the case when things are shit as well as when we celebrate someone's good news so please don't leave unless you want to. It sounds like you may need some support in your continuing journey and somehow a bunch of strangers can be easier to talk to than 'involved' parties.

Have a think about it - and if you do feel comfortable come back for a chat at some point.

Macaroons · 20/01/2012 08:53

lexie I don't know what to say either. How about seeking second opinion? Another way of thinking about this is that at least you already have a DC. Big hugs to you!

jencd · 20/01/2012 09:48

Lexie good luck with your appointment at the fertility clinic... they can work wonders for people, everyone is behind you xxx

Zara1984 · 20/01/2012 12:25

Lexie - I too have no words and am blubbing at my desk here after reading your post.

As dameflamingo says - MN is such a welcoming place, don't feel you have to leave!

Good luck with exploring further options :) :)

Lexie1970 · 20/01/2012 13:40

Thank you lovely ladies Thanks

Actually yesterday and today I feel quite calm and composed - I think it was just a shock being told that basically my ship has sailed.

However I have got the receptionist digging through my notes searching for my previous levels over the past couple of years and the GP has agreed for me to have CD3 blood tests with the warning not to get my hopes up - next week I have nurses appointments booked in every day to get these blasted blood samples :) I honestly cannot believe that my body has given up the ghost in such a relatively short time

My info pack arrived from the Bourne Hall Clinic this morning so now I am all set for Monday. DP is still going ahead with his NHS SA - he has to do that Wednesday so as he has been at home today we have just lazed about in bed as child was out of the way :) :)

So..... in my new positive frame of mind I am eternally grateful for having one perfect healthy ratbag of a child (who incidentally is having his picture published in Peppa Pig magazine soon as he made a PP fire engine!!!!) and being open minded with what can be achieved or not achieved in the next few months. I am hitting the gym, following my Slimming World diet exactly as I need to lose about 3 stone in total but want to shift a stone by my appointment in March.

You are right - I should still post here as the AIBU threads generally make me raise my eyebrows and thing WTF - some of you need to really get out more!!!!

xx
