Gnomi · 26/11/2011 20:20

I'd like a ticket on the polar express please. I can offer mulled wine and mince pies!

I came off the pill at the end of August and my first cycle was a long 38 days. Since then, AF seems to have disappeared! That makes this cycle now 52 days. I have tested, but negative so far.

MrsMellow I'm in a similar situation to you. Am definitely trying to chill out and let my body get back to normal, and try to enjoy Christmas.

chuckaluck I saw them in Manchester - incredible! And who would've thought Gary would be the fit one??!!!

getovaryit I'd done nothing until today but have now done some Internet shopping and sorted my cards - I think they're the worst thing, there's always someone you forget!

Keeping fingers crossed for all of us!

Gnomi (29) TTC#1 Cycle 1 AF due ???

TheNewMrsC · 26/11/2011 21:34

Hey ladies !!

I've noticed most of us are due AF around Christmastime ... What a great present it would be getting that pink line !!Grin although on the other hand I can't imagine how rubbish it will be if they come ! To those who are due then when do you think you will test ?

Also think I might be the youngest am I right ??Blush

getovaryit I'm nearly done my crimbo shopping just a few more things to get I can't cope with December shopping !!Confused

signet2012 · 26/11/2011 23:14

I am due christmas day but DP has made me swear Ill test after xmas. The latest I have been is this time. normally Af arrives on 30,31,32 never been 33 until this month. 30 is christmas day so he says if I get to 34 days I can test then. So If Im late I may have to pop into tesco for a sneaky wee!!!!

Squirrel77 · 27/11/2011 07:38

I think I'll test on Xmas morning and if negative, enjoy a day of boozing!

We are moving house on Boxing Day Shock so if its positive maybe I can laze around while DH hefts all the furniture and boxes Grin

TheNewMrsC · 27/11/2011 09:58

Haha signet I love your way of thinking Grin

I think I might test on Christmas morning too . I just hope even If it doesn't happen this month that af doesn't come until after christmas because I was in a right state the other day when they cameSad

JNO18 · 27/11/2011 10:32

mrsmellow · 27/11/2011 10:58

Hey all - gnomi - coming off the pill and having funny periods is annoying isn't it - and scary when you read some of the threads on here Shock - makes me bury my head in the sand and not think about it...

I am not prepared for Christmas at all and need to get onto it... I'm normally very much a Christmas Eve shopper, but not spending Christmas with all the family this year so have to be pre-prepared. Might go shopping this afternoon... any suggestions for men - all of the Y chromosome holders in my family are a pain in the butt to buy for Smile

I'm not ready for Christmas either, although I've made it easy for myself this year so don't have masses to plan. Hopefully having lots going on will make the 2ww a lot easier. And since me and DP will be apart for Christmas won't be driving myself mad testing like I was this month only to be disappointed by AF.

dameflamingo · 27/11/2011 13:01

permission to board! wearing both fleecy PJs and a Christmas jumper so no chance of being mistaken for Audrey Tatou in the chanel advert ( because ladies I look just like her without these clothes ; - D ). Bringing hot choc and homemade cake.

my vital stats - flamingo (34) TTC#1, cycle 7, AF irratic, irregular, irritating..

northeastofeden · 27/11/2011 13:22

I have just realised how close we are to christmas, I haven't even thought about it yet - am now feeling slightly panicked! It is less than a month! I am going to try and get Christmas cards written today. I always write them and fail to post them - this year will be different!

Thanks for the cake dameflamingo is it too early to crack open the prosecco? It is Sunday and (fingers crossed) soon we won't be able to drink... If I'm not preg by Christmas, I shall console myself with an obscene amount of runny cheese and red wine. Grin yum!

When are you lot planning on putting trees up?

TheNewMrsC · 27/11/2011 13:53

Think I might put my deccies up next week sometime - is that too early ??Blush can't wait to get the crimbo tunes on in the car as well I love Christmas songs !!

Ooh, we watched The Polar Express the Christmas we got pg with DS. May it be a good sign! Have had five periods since having DS, and still BFing, fairly regular cycles though the last one was late, so not sure how to best judge my most fertile time for this month, but going by usual cycle length, AF would be due 19 December.
So,
OptiMumPrime (37), TTC #2, cycle 6, AF due 19 Dec.

Please can someone add me to the list, am on the iPad and cut and paste is a pita!

mrsmellow · 27/11/2011 17:30

VVV - told my best friend - she's TTC number 2 so hoping we'll be in it together - no pressure! (or competitive parenting?!)

Maybe your friend is also trying but doesn't want to say? or is just worried you'll have less in common if you have a baby? I remember when I was younger if someone had suggested it when it wasn't on my agenda it would have been as odd as if they'd suggested picking my nose for me! Don't be Sad I'm sure once she gets used to the idea she'll be great.

Oh and just buy the pregnancy tests - you'll need them at some stage presumably! I felt like I was doing something illicit when I was looking at them in the chemist so I know how you feel!

Elizadoesdolittle · 27/11/2011 17:38

Gnomi - my record cycle was 108 days when I first came of the pill!! Hopefully yours won't be nearly that long.

Just on way home from a friends dd birthday party. Out of the 6 other ladies there one had a 8 week old and 4 were pregnant. Hopefully some of their pregnancy vibes rubbed off on me and I in turn can spread it over this thread!

Going to slob out on the sofa tonight and relax. Hope you all have a lovely evening.

Gnomi · 27/11/2011 17:41

Thanks for the welcome ladies! Hoping I have AF pains today so she can come and we can get on with cycle 2!

VVV I haven't told anyone, but a couple of friend have said things like, "So you'll be having babies soon." There's a whole wave of us at my church who got married around the same time and several couples have either had babies or announced pregnancies. There's a bit of a sense of who's next!

I agree with MrsMellow, shell probably come round to the idea soon.

VeniVidiVino · 27/11/2011 17:50

mrsmellow thanks for the chronological list, I love that you have done this :) , not nerdy at all! My friend is definitely not trying herself (single, student etc.) so I guess you could be right about putting more differences between us if when DH and I start a family. She wasn't great when I got engaged tbh, went a bit funny before becoming supportive. She is lovely though so I will hold out for her to get on board with the concept of mini VVV . It sounds like your friend will be supportive if she is also TTC, fingers crossed for your BFP on/around 16th! Thank you so much for nice advice, needed a boost after :( yesterday.

Have a good evening relaxing eliza

VeniVidiVino · 27/11/2011 17:55

Thanks Gnomi, is there no chance of BFP for you this cycle? If not then I hope AF comes asap so you can crack on! Are you close with the others at church? Sounds like there will be a spate of Christenings there next year.

I am actively denying TTC to anyone who asks, it is none of their business imho, how have you responded to them?

Chuckaluck · 27/11/2011 18:09

Hey VVV, I find it really hard to know what to say to people when they ask about us 'being next' to have a baby. I get it from all sides, friends, family and at work! My cousin just had triplets(!) so I tend to just say oh I am going to take one of hers at the moment! Had cuddles with the smallest one yesterday and did think about putting him in my handbag and going home Wink

VeniVidiVino · 27/11/2011 18:16

Shock at triplets! Glad they are all ok though :)
I generally find a few 'brush off' comments are sufficient at the moment, like "not until we've moved house" and "no, I hear you can't have wine if you're pg!" along with fake laughs and a quick change of subject, tough to be having it from all sides though, don't know how I'd cope with that one...

OptiMumPrime · 27/11/2011 18:20

Also having a slob by out day on the sofa, should be the last day of AF today, so need our strength for all the TTC efforts coming! :) Not in my festive PJs til the first though, but they are washed and ready. Mmm!

Most people know we are trying for a baby, being the joint oldest on the current list (waves at Eliza), I don't feel I've got so much time to waste, plus we'd like a small gap between DC if possible.

Thanks all for doing the list update. Good luck to us all.

OptiMumPrime · 27/11/2011 18:21

Wow! I'd love to have triplets! What gender(s) are they?
