Hello ladies

Congratualtions to all those with there BFP's - that is great news to end 2011 with.

Miss C are your periods normally regular - not quite sure of your history :) As mine have been dire over the past year or so I have been to the docs a couple of times when 5 or 6 weeks have passed with no sign of AF. I did all the same - loads of POAS and negative, bought expensive, bought cheap and all negative :( the doc just told me to keep waiting and sure enough eventually she arrived.

AFM - bloody thermometer broke so couldn't do the temping and couldn't find my spare this morning but have it now. Also ordered another couple off of the internet just in case.

So besides hoping for 2012 BFP do we have any other NY hopes. I am determined to shift a couple of stone, try and do at least one excercise class a week and just try and be a bit chirpier and not obsess about having a baby. As I creep into my 42nd year I feel more and more that DS is all we are going to have and it does upset me as I really didn't and don't want him to be an only child. Appointment with nurse on 4th Jan to get fertility referral rolling so hope hope hope that 2012 will be our year.

I hope everyone managed to enjoy their Christmas celebrations, our visitors have left today, my house looks vaguely straight and the cat has breathed a huge sigh of relief that the dog has gone and she can roam supreme again!!!

x

TheNewMrsC · 28/12/2011 19:38

Not regular to the exact day but never out by more than a few days . Tomorrow will be cd 36 I have never had as long a cycle as that .
DH has said I must be POAS wrong lol !!!

Mmm lexie maybe I will wait until next week then ? How long have you been ttc ?

Lexie1970 · 29/12/2011 09:01

MrsC I had a MMC followed by ERPC in September 2010 (it was picked up at 12 week scan :() and I was going to wait for periods to get back to normal before TTC to conceive again. However my periods have never got back to normal (I was a regular 28 day cycle prior to this). I suppose we started trying in earnest probably about Feb 2011 but my periods were coming every 3 weeks or so so first went to Drs in about May to start 3 day and 21 day tests and we then moved in June. Last month was my first 28 day cycle in over a year so fingers crossed this month will be the same.

I then read about BBT to track cycle and ovulation so on 4th month of that and don't think I ovulate every month which could be half the problem. Also on 2nd month of using CBFM again to try and track cycle. As you can see on my 3rd attempt to get pregnant I am using all sorts of gadgets to aid conception!!!!!!!

If you are on CD36 it does seem a bit odd not to have anything show up on your sticks and no sign of AF - you haven't had any period type cramps or anything?

Oh well the start of another day........

x

jennilondon · 29/12/2011 09:38

Lexie - Sorry to hear about your earlier MC and how hard it is to track ovulation afterwards. The monitoring gadgets you are using should be of some help as it works out whether or not you are fertile based on hormone level in urine, good luck!

MrsC - CD36 while your usual cycle isn't that long might be a good sign. Try testing again tmr or the day after if no sign of AF? I can imagine how frustrating this is.

I think I'm going crazy trying to analyse various symptoms like backache all day long, and minor stomachache when I lie on my back before falling asleep. It's my first month temping so at first I thought I ovulated on day 23 so it's dpo7 today but looking at the chart again it looks like I could have ovulated on day 20, as my usual cycle is 33-34 days, ov on day 23 doesn't sound right. (my thermometer is abit rubbish and fluctuates a lot, if I don't get a BFP this time I'll get a new one!!) I will try to stop thinking about this until 31/12 or 1/1 when my AF is due.

Squirrel77 · 30/12/2011 07:35

Hi all - how is everyone hanging in there? I'm 12 DPO today. Had some spotting last night, haven't tested since 9 DPO but may test tomorrow...have a feeling AF will be visiting tomorrow though unfortunately. This cycle is so strange - didn't ovulate til CD23 and am currently in another time zone so I think my body doesn't know what's going on at the moment!

FX for all still waiting...

Whysoserious · 30/12/2011 10:23

I think full AF has arrived for me Sad

jennilondon · 30/12/2011 11:39

Sorry to hear that whyso but keep your heads up! It's a start to a new cycle!!

Fingers crossed for you squirrel

Yesterday I thought my AF is due to come as I feel bloated and fat but when I took temperature this morning it's still high. CD31 today (usual cycle approx 33) Fingers crossed!

TheNewMrsC · 30/12/2011 22:40

Aw whyso sorry about af hope your not too down about itSad

Fx for you squirrel !!

jenni oooh so excited for you hope you get a BFP what a way to bring in the new year !! Grin

Well, still no af bfn this morn with FMU , so went to see my gp , who told me to hand in a sample on Wednesday morning if they are not here by then . He assures me thought that if I am not getting bfp's it is very unlikely that I am pg, that I am just experiencing a very long cycle Sad
Never thought I'd say this but "hurry up af!!!" just want to get onto the next cycle now and get on with it feel a bit in limboSad

Whysoserious · 30/12/2011 23:15

I knew it was coming so had myself prepared. Am going to fully enjoy new year let's put it that way :o

Good luck squirrel and Jenni! It's about time we had some more BFPs!

MrsC I bet that's frustrating - I know what you mean about limbo. you just get to the point where you just want answers either wy do you can move on. But you never know - I think I said up thread it took my friend a while after AF was due to get a BFP.

Grrrrr, AF got me, with the worst period pains I can ever remember - on new years' eve of all nights, supposed to be hanging out with the whole family, including in-laws, but have been lying on the floor groaning and popping painkillers... :(

Good luck to everyone else!

jennilondon · 31/12/2011 10:14

squirel sorry for the AF visit hope the pain will go away soon.

Temperature today stays high, CD32 of a 33-34 day cycle. Although AF not due yet I couldn't resist the temptation to test.Blush Got a BFN. Maybe it's still too early or maybe it's a proper BFN. Will test again in 2-3 days if no sign of AF. I'm just too impatient!Blush

Elizadoesdolittle · 31/12/2011 13:00

Sorry to hear of af's visit whyso and squirrel. I'm going to have loads to drink tonight to take advantage of the fact I can. Wishing you all a very happy new year and to those with bfp's healthy pregnancies. May we all have bfp's in the new year (sprinkles baby dust in glasses of new year fizz and raises a toast to everyone).

VeniVidiVino · 31/12/2011 18:10

Congrats to all with BFPs for Christmas, unfortunately AF has now chucked me off the Polar Express (was agonising - 4 days late! Grrr!)

Oh well Wine for me tonight and may 2012 bring BFPs to all who desire them.

jennilondon · 31/12/2011 21:03

Happy New Year everyone! Hope everyone will get a BFP at some point in the next few months so we will all have a 2012 baby WinkGrinWinkGrinWinkGrin

Zara1984 · 01/01/2012 11:26

Happy new year everyone!!! Grin Here's to us all getting lovely 2012 babies!

Spending my first day of 2012 in bed with a rotten cold and lurking on MN.

I'm currently CD27... Of a 31 dayish (approx cycle). Have agreed with DH I'll test on Saturday if no AF before then but the wait is awful!!! While we were away on holiday I cracked and secretly did an early test at CD 25... Who was I kidding if course it was BFN!! As the Clearblue Fertility Monitor didn't identify my peak days this month (common for first month apparently) I have no idea when or if I ov'd!

Symptom spotting for anyone who'd like to interpret.... Grin Grin Grin Grin

  • spotting for a few days this time last week (incantation bleed or too much sex??) including light cramps which all stopped by Monday
  • seriously awful bloating in my tummy and legs (AF or too much food haha!)
  • nausea and tiredness (but could be caused by my cold)

Sigh... I don't feel pregnant (whatever that feels like!) so wondering what my chances are?? Really hope that by this time next week I will definitely know one way or another so I can celebrate or prepare for round 2!

dameflamingo · 01/01/2012 19:24

Happy New Year Polar Expressers! I hope that you are all feeling chirpy this evening. I've been thinking about resolutions for 2012. Here are mine:

  1. Remember to take my vitamins!
  2. No early pg testing or counting down the days - that stuff will just drive me nuts
  3. Swap SWI for S for fun...
  4. no thinking of possible baby names
  5. No getting upset/cross when folk ask the dreaded 'when are you having children?' question
  6. no putting off fun things because I may be pg at the time when I clearly am not pg!
  7. look at AF as the beginning of a new adventure not the end of what should have been!
  8. no being furious/ inconsolable when my mum tells me of a person who has just popped out her 5th child..
  9. no giving up stuff just because I'm TTC..change mindset to give up/cut down because its good for me to do so...and only give up prawns and runny cheese if BFP is actually had!
  10. ensure I exercise gently every day...find something I actually enjoy and stick to it.
  11. no being upset with myself when the above resolutions are broken one by one!

what about you lot? any serious resolutions?

jennilondon · 01/01/2012 23:46

dameflamingo good resolutions. Losing weight is always one of my resolutions but I always give up after a while Sad so I decide to not bother until after I have a baby as there is little point Wink (My BMI is around 24 so not overweight but would look nicer if I'm a stone or two lighter)

zara I know what you mean with symptoms spotting. I'm trying not to think too much as its driving me nuts.

Tomorrow will be day 34 for me. my cycle is abit irregular with last 5 being 34, 45, 34, 32, 36. I tested on day 32 and got a BFN so debating whether to test tomorrow . I also started temping since December and temperature has remained high so it's still promising. But I don't want to have my hopes too high as I don't wanna be disappointed when AF finally comes. Sad

TheNewMrsC · 02/01/2012 00:25

Happy new year girls !!Smile

zara I go mad with the symptom spotting too it's just too hard not to !!
dame definitely share some of your resolutions particularly like the last oneGrin
Fx for you all . jenni I take it your temp drops when af is due ? Never really looked into the temping thing but I'm thinking of doing it next month . How is it to keep up ?

Well I'm now on cd 40 . Cycles normally 30 days although I have had a 33 day cycle . Still getting bfn and had a wee bit of pink spotting this afternoon on tissue , so I am thinking af is going to show up tomorrow Sad but at least that will be me onto a new cycle I suppose ... Hmm ??

jennilondon · 02/01/2012 08:09

MrsC it must have been really hard to wait till CD 40 of a 33 day max cycle and still not know the outcome! Are you going to the doctors? FX for you!

I started temping since day 10 this cycle. Apparently temperature should drop few days before you ovulate and rise straight after you ovulate, and stay high afterwards if you are pg, or drops when AF is about to come. Worth trying I think as my cycles are irregular so this helps work out ovulation period. I got a fever thermometer with one digit though supposed to get a two digit one.

If you wanna read more about it visit fertility friend they have a very detailed guide and explains why temp shifts, and what other signs there might be. In fact I highly recommend that guide to everyone TTC - it's long and I haven't read though the whole thing thoroughly but skim read most of it, very informative!Wink

TheNewMrsC · 02/01/2012 08:29

Morning jenni think I will Definitely try temping next month . Yeah I went to my gp on Friday , who told me to hand in a sample on Wednesday morning if af not arrived by then . He said if I'm getting bfn then i am just having a long cycle as hpt are as accurate as nhs ones Sad
I was gutted but I suppose prepared for it . Expecting af to arrive today so onwards and upwards to the next cycle !

jennilondon · 02/01/2012 08:30

the detailed guide from fertility friend I was talking about:

www.fertilityfriend.com/HelpCenter/ffhandbook.html

jennilondon · 02/01/2012 08:32

MrsC if your cycle is a long one that would mean the BFNs you got earlier are all tested too early Wink FX for you!

jennilondon · 02/01/2012 09:56

Temperature remain high, just POAS and got a BFN! (today is day 34 of a 34 day ish cycle) Sad probably not my month

jennilondon · 02/01/2012 10:06

Sorry it's me posting again! (see I'm obsessed)

when I looked at the stick maybe 5-10 min later I can see a very faint line! Will try another test in 2 days.

TheNewMrsC · 02/01/2012 19:00

Well af is 100% officially here.
