Totally there inventing symptoms! I didn't even have any symptoms last time. Am extra thirsty! Is that a sign? Vivid dreams? A sign, a sign! Tired! Well, I am just a lazy bugger, so that's nothing new!

xxhunnyxx · 15/12/2011 23:21

Optimum yes unquenchable thirst & vivid dreams were true symptoms for me.
Also I kept falling over everywhere, they were true symptoms too as I didn't know I was preggers till 7 weeks but once I knew it explained all these weird things that were going on.
But yes I defo invent symptoms. I currently feel mega pre menstrual, achey like AF is about to arrive but I'm still thinking 'it's a pregnancy symptom!' wtf?!

OptiMumPrime · 16/12/2011 00:33

Xmas Smile Same, I was about six weeks gone when we found out last time, but no symptoms that I was aware of.
I am not very sensitive to cycle changes, feeling nothing really.

mrsmellow · 16/12/2011 06:53

I too feel nothing, no breast tenderness, no falling over, no extra tiredness, no nausea... I did have a vivid dream last night - is that really a symptom? - and I am very thirsty - but we went for pizza with friends last night, so suspect the cheese and salt on pizza could account for both symptoms.... Smile

patient? if you could see inside my head you'd see otherwise Wink - but I just don't find vocalising it makes me feel any better, just makes it more real and I suspect will make the presumed impending massive disappointment much greater..

Squirrel77 · 16/12/2011 07:54

I dreamed about Gary Barlow last night - surely a symptom of pregnancy!?

Seriously though, according to my temperature chart thingy, I still haven't ovulated, which is driving me bananas! Not least because it means that if I don't get upduffed this month, will miss ovulation next month as I will be abroad and poor DH stoking the fires back home.... Xmas Sad

Just wondering whether you ladies who will be doing the two week wait over Christmas - will you be drinking? I like to have a few Wine on Christmas day, but it will be too early for me to test, so don't know what I should do!

Zara1984 · 16/12/2011 10:27

Happily POAS for the CBFM still... but hoping a high day turns up soon as I am on calendar day 11. Self-pronounced fertility expert DH says (after apparent analysis of the way I behave off the pill and my cycles to date) reckons first high day will be on Sunday at least. I appreciate his enthusiasm but sometimes it is a bit Xmas Hmm for a man to be opining with great perceived authority his views on my menstrual cycle....

squirrel77 yep I'll be on my 2ww over Christmas and I probably will have a drinkie or two. Have cut down booze massively this year in advance of TTC anyway. Have been having a drink or two a week at Christmas events this month (absolutely limiting myself to one standard drink on each occasion). My other wonder (this is going to sound really dreadful probably) is about errrrrrrr other types of things.... most specifically.... DH and I are going to Amsterdam for a few days after Christmas. I was wondering if it's dreadfully naughty if I went to a coffeehouse for a quick puff or two while on the 2ww Xmas Blush Xmas Blush Xmas Blush Xmas Blush Any thoughts???

Spuddybean · 16/12/2011 10:39

Is there any real data that drinking prevents conception (most people i know have conceived when pissed!)?

Or does everyone give up in case they are pregnant in that 2 weeks?

Tbh. I haven't stopped drinking and wont till AF is late. I haven't got wasted tho. But do have about 6/7 pints if i go out to a special occassion (couple of mates birthdays etc).

I was most proud of myself on Sat - at an xmas function - as i only had 2 glasses of wine with dinner followed by 3 pints of lager!

Am i terrible person?!!

No idea on puffing i'm afraid - it makes me go green and yog!!

Zara1984 · 16/12/2011 10:41

In direct response to your question squirrel I understand baby is living off yolk and not your bloodstream for the first few weeks so I think a drink or two is not going to do any harm. Probably a boozy bender is best to be avoided but eg a glass of wine with Christmas dinner is probably ok. My GP told me with my low alcohol intake (4 units a week roughly, at most) I didn't need to cut back while TTC and should just stop drinking (if I am at all) when I get BFP.

I think just do what's right for you and in line with your GP's advice. My mum smoked right throughout her pregnancy at 40 with me and drank nearly every day too I believe..... that is definitely NOT ideal (and was probably reflected in the fact I only weighed 4 pounds 3 ounces at full-term birth...) but look how well I turned out!! Xmas Grin Just by way of comparison - a French friend roared with laughter at the concept of giving up an occasional drink of wine or two with dinner throughout her pregnancy... as did her doctor... Xmas Grin I will definitely give up the booze when I get that BFP - but I won't beat myself up if I have an occasional sip from DH's glass if he's having a nice Bordeaux or Sav Blanc!

Zara1984 · 16/12/2011 10:45

Ah spuddy sure it was fine - I'd say the good mood you were in after the Christmas party did more for your emotional wellbeing (and therefore more likely to conceive) than going dry!

I am a big fan of the non-judgmental school of pregnancy and childraising... actually the non-judgmental school of everything Xmas Grin If you wanna drink while TTC, drink. If you don't, don't. If your doctor tells you not to, you may want to take heed of his/her advice.

Spuddybean · 16/12/2011 11:01

Cheers, i am quite liberal about these things, my family all had the odd drink while preggers (mum drank and smoked - the doc told her to cut down but giving up would be more stressful to me than having 2 fags a day - but that was the 70's and i was probably lucky they didn't prescribe her 10 lambert & butler a day - for relaxation purposes Hmm ).

I have decided I will still have half a guinness when i want throughout my pregnancy.

Whenever i see my family if i have a few pints of guinness they smile secretively and ask if i'm pregnant?! I say no of course not. They say oh we thought you were being good cos you were up the duff. That to them is the height of healthy restraint!! Shock

FloydieFestiveDoydie · 16/12/2011 12:43

Still no implantation bleed here, but trying not to lose hope already! I had a dream last night that DP and I had a scan and saw a tiny baby...hope it's a premonition Smile

newMrsC I wasn't sure what date I ovulated on, but bleed was on cd25 of 34. So, around 10dpo possibly - i.e., about now Sad

WhySoSerious I remember it was quite a surprising amount (although probably only about a tablespoon) and was mostly bright red, with a clot - which really shocked me. I remember being very upset as it thought it was my period starting. As I say it was cd25 and I thought it was just my cycle messing about. But when I checked the tampon the next day, it had stopped already. I was confused, but as it had been quite a bit of blood, I didn't really consider implantation. I poas 4 days later (to check i wasnt pg - as I had been around someone smoking weed), but didn't see a line straight away so chucked it in bin. Then a further 3 days later I was emptying the bin and found that test and thought "oh that looks like an evaporation line" and poas again - and got a second line. Sadly, I miscarried at 11 weeks, but at least I managed to get pg I guess.

Whysoserious · 16/12/2011 12:54

Floydie sorry to hear about your MC. I think every pregnancy is different and having an implantation bleed one time doesnt necessarily mean you will the next.

Well, I'm a bit worried I'm having an anovulatory month because, while I have had my 2 peak days on CBFM - yesterday and the day before, I did not get a big temperature rise this morning which I thought I would to confirm ovulation yesterday. Sad

Had really crap SWI last night though. Both of us were knackered and were pretty much having a normal conversation all the way through it Blush

I'm really hoping I get a temp shift tomorrow to confirm ov. Feel knackered and nauseous today but I realise it is far too early to start symptom spotting.

Just want to go home and go to sleep

Hi everyone,

I've been skim reading the last few posts as am busy so apologies if I've missed any BFP and commiserations to those who have had a visit from AF.

Well DH arrived back from his trip in the early hours of the morning but I am pretty sure that I ov'd whilst he was away so don't think it's my month. I'm not too worried though as have lots to take my mind off it and actually hoping that January will be a calmer month for us with much more oppotunity to SWI.

Re the drinking/non drinking thing, I won't be giving up whilst TTC. In fact I'm out tonight and looking forward to partaking in a glass or 5 of wine Xmas Smile

When I conceived DD I didn't find out I was pregnant till 6 weeks and had in fact been at 2 very boozy weddings before I found out. Needless to say as soon as I got the BFP I stopped immediatly and only had the odd glass of wine here and there.

Hope you all have a good weekend and fc AF's don't make an appearance for any of you.

xxhunnyxx · 16/12/2011 15:35

zara I was unkowingly pregnant when I was on holiday with ex and also had a few puffs along with waaaayyyyyy to much drink. DS is absolutely fine (thank god!) but I wouldn't base your decision on my very very good luck.
But IMO I'm not pregnant until I'm pregnant (ie got a BFP) so will still be drinking until then, but that's just me, you just do what you think is best for you (and baby of course).

Still no AF here so it's now officially LATE, the test I did yesterday was only a cheapie one and I didn't use FMU so I'm thinking of picking up a First Response test to do in the morning.

Lexie1970 · 16/12/2011 16:41

I didn't realise I was pregnant until gone 7 weeks with DS - drank and ate all the wrong things but we all lived to tell the tale and as he is 4.9 and a little bruiser with the constitution of an ox I see no cause for concern.

I am a firm believer of everything in moderation and on day of induction proceeded to quaff 3/4 bottle of very nice chablis and had a prawn dish from local chinese :)

whyso I think last month for me was anovulatory too as my temping showed nothing at all and I hadn't started to use CBFM. This month the two methods don't conclusively confirm ov on the same day but appear to confirm ovulation which is huge relief

www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2f779a/

Should my periods behave, then I reckon AF will be visiting Xmas weekend but I am trying not to get to het up on it - I feel very lucky to have DS and an article in the Daily Mail today on secondary infertility confirms I am not the only one to struggle conceiving #2....

Off to watch CBeebies panto as DS is suffering with chicken pox and starting to flag now - not even interested in chocolate.....

x

redrhumba · 16/12/2011 17:06

evening all
well af should have turned up today on a normal 28 day cycle but nothing as yet but as its my first month off ocp i'll give it till monday before testing, i felt rubbish wed poas and surprisingly got a bfn not fmu either so think i'll wait now.
i conceived ds on a boozy holiday and still drink while ttc but i don't drink alot, i'll stop once i get a bfp.
hope everyones ok x

xxhunnyxx · 17/12/2011 07:59

Well I just did a test and got a faint line, it's faint but still a line.
DP isn't convinced that it is there but I'm pretty sure that it is but it's a really weird feeling as I'm trying not to get too excited just yet in case I'm wrong. I don't have any symptoms and don't 'feel' pregnant, but then again I suppose I felt pretty normal with DS till about 6 weeks.

mrsmellow · 17/12/2011 08:54

On the drinking front - I'm still having a few - perhaps not quite 6/7pints spuddy - I'd fall over as would DH Smile I'm not pregnant until I get a bfp - but that is determining when I test next week as we have a boozy lunch with friends planned....

Squirrel77 · 17/12/2011 10:15

Hi all

Hunny - congrats if it is a BFP! Hope the line gets darker tomorrow!
Lexie great to see your chart has a confirmed ovulation!

Whysoserious how is your temp charting going? My chart is all over the place...still awaiting the golden egg I think as temps are up and down...

And thanks for all your advice about drinking! I think I'll have a few at Xmas but not too many. As for having a choof, Zara, I have heard it's useful in labour but don't know about the 2ww!

Spuddybean · 17/12/2011 11:08

HAHA mrsmellow that is me on a restrained night. It isn't unheard of for me to have 12 pints of lager/guinness no problems - I have always been able to out drink any man i've met!

However, i don't think that's such a good thing anymore! Trying to eat more and drink less since i've been in my 30's.

TheNewMrsC · 17/12/2011 11:38

Hi ladiesSmile

I'm not really a big drinker but if I was on a night out during 2ww I would drink as though it was a normal night . You're better making the most of it as it could be the last opportunity for a while !! Grin
Also it can only be a good thing having a relaxing drink with all the stress of ttc and 2ww !

Congratulations hunny a line is a line !! How many dpo are you ?

Well I have been symptom spotting like mad ! The other night I had a weird pressure (not painful but noticeable) in my belly like someone was pressing on it with their finger and this morning I woke up lying face down on the bed and thought I was lying on something hard under my belly but I wasn't . Weird .

7 sleeps ...

mrsmellow · 17/12/2011 12:48

12 pints Shock - I'd spend most of the night going to the loo apart from anything else Wink
MrsC I'm not sure what the belly pressure symptom means. I'd quite like to have any symptom to spot.. Sad
going to a carol concert tonight, very Christmassy Xmas Smile

FloydieFestiveDoydie · 17/12/2011 12:57

Shock had pink cm this noting when wiping - then...light red blood. Using a pad to see how much, but trying not to get too carried away in thinking it could be implantation. It's cd27, so is always possible it's just AF making an appearance, but let's hope not!

xxhunnyxx · 17/12/2011 17:43

Well I did a clear blue digital and got a BFP!! Grin
Just waiting for DP to get home from work, it's been driving me mad all afternoon not being able to tell anyone.
I still don't actually feel pregnant tho, it doesn't feel real at the mo

OptiMumPrime · 17/12/2011 18:00

Wow, hunny, that's amazing! Congratulations.
