chuckaluck sorry you're feeling down. Just because you don't have a smiley on your opk doesn't mean you won't have ovulated. Last month I didn't get a peak on my CBFM but I know I definitely ovulated because I had a transvaginal ultrasound and the sonographer confirmed that I had. So you never know you may have hit the right time. Notice your AF is due 21st dec so I guess you just need to relax and wait and see now?

I've been trying to lose weight too. I have been 9.7 for the last few years (before that 8.7) but got on the scales recently and I was 11.8!!! Last time I weighed myself a few says ago I was 10.13 so going to keep going with it. Hopefully a bit more will have dropped off since then. I'm following weightwatchers online and just the making note of everything I've eaten really helps I think.

xxhunnyxx · 14/12/2011 18:58

chuck if it encourages you at all I got pg both times before when I'd just started dieting, I think just eating healthily maybe improves fertility, or maybe it was just coincidence, I dunno. Maybe try and see it as you're eating healthily to improve your fertility and if you lose some weight along the way then it's a bonus.
I'm speaking from experience when I say I know that it can seem overwhelming to think I need to lose X amount of weight, I've found it's helped to just have small achievable goals.

Whysoserious · 14/12/2011 18:58

Glad you enjoyed the choon OptiMum!

Have we heard from MrsMellow' LauraM20 and getovaryit? Any more BFPs?

Xmas Smile I very much did, thank you, as did DS!

I was just thinking that, looking at the dates, a few on the list should have either had their AFs or be PG!

Whysoserious · 14/12/2011 19:34

Not too long til D-day for you either OptiMum!

Just out of interest how long do people wait till they test?
I was expecting AF yesterday/today but think I OV'd on 1st dec which would make AF due tomos, I'm never late, in fact cycle is usually about 25 days but tomorrow will be 28 days, I can't even remember the last time I had a 28 day cycle!
I might wait till weekend

Whysoserious · 14/12/2011 20:27

hunny do it tomorrow!! I don't usually test - AF just appears. I did test early last month though and then AF arrived about 10mins later. That was a waste of a fiver Sad

It does help to lose weight. I recently lost 24lbs in about 2 months on the Dukan Diet. Before my BMI was in the overweight section and I am now the lower end of normal. I read somewhere that losing 10% of your body weight can boost chances of conceiving. I truly believe that my weight and the fact that I was BF DS was what was causing me to stop ovulating (had no positive OPK's most months).

harmonyb23 · 14/12/2011 20:35

Sorry stupid mobile site cut me short. Was going to say that giving up the one feed I did a day for DS and losing the excess weight I was carrying around seemed to do the trick in TTC for me. I also feel pretty fab having nearly lost 2 stone. Hopefully I'll keep off the weight after next LO is born.

Good luck to those considering dieting, I would definitely reccoment the Dukan diet if your willpower is strong, you see results quickly and it makes sense unlike some fad diets.

OptiMumPrime · 14/12/2011 20:56

11 days feels like ages! My periods are usually regular but not 100% so, so I am not going by 19th, but 25th, soas not to get my hopes up too high. I've only poas once, and that was for DS, and I waited about ten days!
Well done on the weight loss, harmony. I want DS to self-wean, ideally, but if I am not pg by the time he is 2, I'll try and influence things a bit.

harmonyb23 · 14/12/2011 21:22

It was DS's choice to stop the evening feed. He bit me, I cursed and he cried. Tried and tried to get him to feed the next morning and evening and he refused the breast completely. Managed to BF for a year though so pretty happy about that. X

xxhunnyxx · 14/12/2011 21:25

whysoserious yep there's nothing quite like POAS to make AF arrive.
Last time I was TTC I got quite obsessive about testing and bought loads of cheapie eBay sticks and used to do one pretty much every day from about 10dpo but I'm determined not to get so obsessive this time as it just took over my every thought.
It does help that DP is so laid back about it, keeps my feet on the ground.
He was so so soooo lovely the other night when we went to A&E, he was so supportive and caring which is totally new to me. My ex (ds's dad) wasn't supportive at all really, in fact once I found out I was pregnant he went off the rails a bit n didn't even turn up to the birth.
DP is such an amazing dad to his 2 kids n I can't wait for us to have our own baby together Smile

jbadgirl · 14/12/2011 23:53

Hi ladies,

Can I come aboard too?? I bring homemade mince pies ??

Im 30, ttc %232, AF due 16th/17th dec I think! Stopped pill then had AF 19th nov. haven't had a "true" AF since stopping pill so unsure of cycle length etc! Keen to POAS Asap but know I should really wait!

Squirrel77 · 15/12/2011 08:50

Welcome jbadgirl!

Speaking of funny things that DP's do, whysoserious, DH always says "do you want me to get your pedestal now?" and then props me up on a couple of cushions after DTD! Grin

LauraM20 · 15/12/2011 09:03

Hi everyone! Still BFN for me, AF hasnt arrived yet but I'm guessing will arrive today as I tested this morning-always the way. I'm so sad and disappointed :-( I didn't really realise what an emotional rollercoaster ttc was. Never mind on a better note we are expecting snow tonight and nothing better than snow to make you feel christmasy! Congratulations to all the BFP xxxxx

TheNewMrsC · 15/12/2011 09:36

Aw Laura sorry for your BFN it is very disheartening . Yeah rollercoaster it definitely is !!

Well after dtd with DH last night went to bathroom (sorry tmi !) and has little pink spotting with a few wee red spots in it . Trying not to look into it too much cos I'm sure it's way to early to be implantation .

Wow optimum you have so much self control !! Grin I can't can't cope with the 2ww let alone a missed af !! Haha

Welcome jbad you have joined the right thread it seems to be a lucky oneSmile

May it bring many more BFP Smile

FloydieFestiveDoydie · 15/12/2011 13:05

Oops, haven't posted for so long it dropped off my list Blush

I'm still in the dreaded 2ww, due 24th. When I was pregnant last time I had an implantation bleed, so I have been disappointed every time I pee lately! But not everyone gets that, so I should still be hopeful - and next week the last thing I am going to want is bleeding.

TheNewMrsC · 15/12/2011 13:17

Haha floydie we though u had deserted us Wink

When you were pregnant last time can you remember hoe many dpo you were ? I had it with my first pregnancy as well but I can't remember when ? I know it was definitely before missed af tho - and quite a bit before because I didn't even think it was af when it occured .

Whysoserious · 15/12/2011 15:22

What does implantation bleeding look like? Is it just tinted CM or is it more like actual blood?

I think I'm ovulating today. Have had a few pains in my left side this morning so wondering if that is Mittelschmerz. Although most likely probably all in my head.

xxhunnyxx · 15/12/2011 16:17

Well I POAS this morning but got a BFN Sad

But I was doing some thinking last night and I'm not sure if I'm getting cold feet about TTC, I do want a baby but then there's a part of me that thinks ''what's the rush?''
DS will be starting nursery school in September so childcare costs are going to drop considerably, he's now getting to an age where things are a lot easier and I'm thinking ''do I really want to go right back to the beginning just yet?''.

Mine and DP's relationship is fantastic at the mo, better than it's ever been, I do think to have a baby together (he has 2 of his own, I've got 1) would be the icing on the cake, but it doesn't have to be right now.
I'm not sure if I'd just rather enjoy a year of having a bit more money, enjoy being able able to go for nights away, sleeping at night, a summer of camping (yes I love it!) and then try.
Plus DP is still married to his ex, despite being separated for 2&1/2 years, I know it's only a piece of paper but it would bother me that my baby's daddy is married to another woman, I think I really want that sorting first.
But then on the other hand, is there ever a 'perfect' time to have a baby?

DP was working away last night so couldn't talk to him but will have a chat about it tonight.

Spuddybean · 15/12/2011 19:27

Hello all - am i on this list? I thought i was but i can't see my name. If not can you add me. I'm 34 and ttc my first. Period due 25th (happy xmas to me!! the gift that just keeps on giving etc)

I am not sure if i am symptom spotting but i have had the most monstrous headache and pain behind my right eye and down my neck, i've been so tired, starving and off the beer! So i could be up the duff or more likely coming down with the flu for xmas :(

VeniVidiVino · 15/12/2011 21:07

Yikes! I haven't been on here in aaaages. Think I ovd at the weekend, DH and I had SWI a fair but last week so fingers crossed.

Congrats to all the new BFPs, comiserations to those who've got AF.

Is it weird that I want to test before AF is due? It's my first cycle and I'm way too excited to wait!

mrsmellow · 15/12/2011 21:37

No BFP's here, no AF either - but am going to wait until next week to test as last cycle was 39 days and one before 43 - today is CD39 ( ridiculous, v jealous of you 28 day-ers... Envy ) Sorry to be off the radar, just haven't got much to say apart from feeling very fed up of the lack of control!
Have a very busy few days coming up so hoping to stop obsessing thinking about being pregnant!

VeniVidiVino · 15/12/2011 21:46

Xmas Sad for superlong cycles mrsmellow but you are very patient to wait for next week!

I have a stash of tests upstairs and plan to POAS this time next week (AF due 25th). Does anyone else keep having inventing random pregnancy symptoms? I seem to be able to convince myself that pretty much anything going on with my body must be a sign of implantation or some other symptom and definitely not just becuase I've been ill the past few days
