The Mister and I have plenty of technology between us. I have a Macbook and he has a Macbook Pro, I have an iphone and we are both getting Kindles for Christmas. We will also need to get new phones as we have moved and the contracts are no longer worth it. So we will probably both end up getting new iPhones.

We live in Guernsey. We moved in August and we are currently living with my parents. It makes the regular shagging rather amusing as we are sleeping in my childhood bedroom! We have had to move with them to save up for a house deposit - property is unbelievably expensive over here.

We reckon we need to save about £35,000. Horrendous!

Not sure my body would make that much! The thing is, an average 3-bed house over here will set you back about £385k-ish, and then the fee structures are different so they come to about £15k... it's a nightmare!

Rie You're not the only tenant BESH. We had a child and then got married so now there is none left for a house. Ever, so it seems,

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 13/11/2011 18:35

I couldn't believe the price my friend paid for her house in Jersey, she paid over 300k for a 2 bed house with one parking space and a roof terrace. We paid 170k for a 4 bed bungalow!
MSB has decided I am definitely feeling better because I cleaned the oven. Thank goodness for Mr Muscle!

InTheSunshine · 13/11/2011 18:36

I wrote a post about an hour ago on my phone. It's not appeared. How odd. Rie I read the boob fred. I always buy a 32 A or B depending on style. But according to that measurement thing I should be a 30 D. Blimey.

Dor isn't Guernsey really expensive due to it being a tax haven or is that Jersey?

We are house owners due to inheritance (mine) and SSG buying a house when he was 18 and selling it ( to buy a house with me) for much much more than he bought it for. It's very difficult for most of my friends to buy houses although Derby isn't a particularly expensive place.

Thanks for the info Truffs think I might join Mr&Mrs. If Whatley is 241 then it's got to be worth the £20!!

AuntieDoris · 13/11/2011 18:40

It's not expensive because we are a tax haven (although we don't pay VAT, but other taxes instead!) but it is because property is limited and building regs are extremely tight. I guess the prices are so high because stupid people like us will pay it and therefore the prices go up. We are stuck between a rock and a hard place!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 13/11/2011 18:45

I ploughed all my cash into a flat before I met MSB. When we decided to move to a 'family' ha ha the irony home I had to accept 20k less than I paid for it to get rid of it. Only could afford this place thanks to my Dad giving us the deposit which we are paying back very, very slowly.

Ariesgirl · 13/11/2011 19:31

I WANT TO LIVE IN A TAX HAVEN We have just had a demand from the tax office for £1600 including interest, when we didn't even know we owed it! And we are being penalised for late payment AngryAngryAngry.

InTheSunshine · 13/11/2011 19:56

Oh Rie that is utter utter wank.

Ariesgirl · 13/11/2011 20:16

I know. Cunts.

eurochick · 13/11/2011 20:31

Rie, I am similarly outraged. Years ago the Inland Rev said they didn't need me to send tax returns anymore unless circs changed (they almost always ended up owing me a couple of hundred quid rather than the other way around). They haven't, apart from normal annual wage increases. Then, out of the blue a month or so ago, they fined me for not sending a tax return they had never requested Confused. So I appealed it and then they told me they couldn't consider the appeal without the tax return (first time they had asked for one). So I sent it in. Now waiting to hear. I think we all know that despite them not realising I needed to fill in a tax return and me not realising I needed to fill in a tax return, I'm going to end up owing them money plus a fine plus interest. Wankers.

Ariesgirl · 13/11/2011 20:44

I would start ranting about how I am paying SO much tax and as soon as we make any profit, they take it and use it to prop up failed banks and bailing out the bastard euro and on wars no one agrees with and I might even mention benefit cheats yes I said it benefit cheats who have never done a day's fucking work in their fucking lives and expect everyone else to look after them like the man down the road who owns two boats, and at this rate we will never, never be able to own our own home let alone fill it with babies but I'll sound like Daily Mail reading twat so I won't Angry

Ariesgirl · 13/11/2011 20:45

Obviously that's the single currency not our lovely Euro who is not a bastard.

LauraPalmer · 13/11/2011 20:53

I'm baaaaaaack.

Now must read everything and catch up. Meow!

You couldn't sound like a DM cunt Ariel. This country is in a fecking mess. I had a similar rant when I came home from Asda this afternoon. It's lunacy.

Totally fucking ridiculous. How on earth can they fine you for late payment of tax that you were not billed for?? Wankers.
