Here Rie. I know that our mutual ex-headbanging friend was reading the first one recently and loving it.

Chick-Lit as a term annoys the hell out of me. Women writers - yes, fab great essential. Forcing women writers into a genre and accepting pink cover art etc etc makes my feminist hackles RISE.

And Chick Flick makes me cross as well. Like men and women aren't allowed to anjoy the same things. And like men aren't allowed to appreciate a 'woman's' film because it will make them look less manly.

MrBoo might be a playstation bore but at least he'll go and watch Pride and Prejudice with me and LOVE it to boot.

I have been nagging her encouraging her to read the rest of them. But you know....she has many things to read on a daily basis, all of them quite a lot cleverer and more important. I was nearly in tears of shame the other night when I admitted I had never read Tess :( I find Hardy, kind of well... hard. And Dickens.
