Northey no monitoring of the scan variety but I do have to have a Day 21 blood test to make sure I've ovulated.

I'm temping and will do regular knicker checks for pant snot so hopefully I shall be soothsayer-like and see my ovulation coming a few days in advance and can pounce on Bendy with perfect timing [deluded]

InTheSunshine · 08/11/2011 21:57

LP being from across the pond pliz to explain pumpkin pie to me? Is it a pudding or savoury dish? I like the sound of it.

Northey · 08/11/2011 22:15

Oh Lordy. [blinks sweatily before cracking instantly] What do you want to know? From a très dull ttc point of view, I have been at it for 2 years without success (unless you count an ectopic pregnancy in September, which I DON'T, as otherwise where is my baybee?). I'm 33. I've had lap and dye and ovarian drilling. And for some reason am meant to have an HSG next month too, though I have no idea what that will show that the lap and dye didn't. Oh, and I have PCOS (hence the drilling) and hardly have any periods at all, and therefore hardly any bloody eggs either. Mutter mutter.

Northey · 08/11/2011 22:16

Is that enough? What more do you people want from me? [breaks down and beats head on interview table]

Bloody Hell, we have Mumsnet royalty in our midst! (Bugger made discussions of the day :o).

I miss EVERYTHING these days. Even the malteasers.

Sunny - pumpkin pie is basically amazing. It is sweet with subtle savoury undertones...cinnamon and nutmeg-ish. You should eat it with proper (sweet) whipped cream. It also tastes good eaten cold for breakfast.

I'm not feeling very hostess-y this evening.
Must go find Buggery's fred...

Mmmmmmmm pumpkin pie!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 09/11/2011 06:36

Ps oh the irony. I iz now so sick I iz not going to work.6 days before my sickness review :s

Northey · 09/11/2011 06:43

Oh no! First of all - you poor thing! You must be feeling rotten. Second - is there no way you can even make it in just in order to be sent home when they see how bad you are? I don't know if that would help them be more understanding wen they do the review?

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 09/11/2011 06:50

I've got no voice :( I don't really think there's much point in going in...

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 09/11/2011 06:54

I just asked MSB for the third time if I'm doing the right thing oh I hate going off sick he says yes. Says if I got to disciplinary he will be held responsible! Feels like I've swallowed acid soaked razor blades.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 09/11/2011 07:28

Rang my boss, she was very nice, especially when I explained most things could be rearranged. Hopefully will only be off for the one day. Fortunately I sound awful which helps when calling in sick. Just like Kelly Rowland calling into x factor Hmm

LauraPalmer · 09/11/2011 08:10

Faithy Here's a brilliant throat drink recipe I got from a really lovely actor about 15 years ago, which I still use whenever I'm sick:

5-6 cloves of garlic, crushed
1 lemon, halved
1 tablespoon ginger, grated
1/2 cup of honey (Manuka is best)
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Boil it all together with 3-4 cups water, then let it simmer down for a bit to thoroughly infuse. Let it cool to a warm drinking temp - drink all of the liquid and then eat all of the garlic. Sounds disgusting but IT WORKS!

Secondary option to spot treat throat soreness : gargle with warm salt water.

Feel better!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 09/11/2011 08:35

I have most of those ingredients. I will give it a whirl!

MadMonkeys · 09/11/2011 09:07

Helo ladies - just out of interest what does BESH mean? Ive been wondering for ages...

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 09/11/2011 09:19

Are you just curious or are yoy interested in joining?

Northey · 09/11/2011 10:12

Feeling any better, faith?

I am half writing a cover letter for a job application and half entertaining myself by googling "symptomless pregnancy". It is fabulous. My boobs are normal. I don't feel sick. My mouth is resolutely non-metallic (if a bit coffee-breathed). I am OBVIOUSLY updiffed!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 09/11/2011 10:21

I felt better for about an hour. Had migrated to the sofa. Now realise I need to go back to bed....just as soon as I can find the energy.
What's the job?
I'm still obsessed with the weirdness of my last cycle. Futility fiend think I'm fertile. I disagree.

LauraPalmer · 09/11/2011 10:25

If you read down thru some of this fred you'll probably be able to figure it out MissMonkeyshines Wink

Me too Norf - I've got all the exact same symptoms that I get everytime the Droid calls so I'm obviously updiffed, too!

OP posts:
LauraPalmer · 09/11/2011 10:31

It was a weird one, Faithy - hard to trust our bodies at times, isn't it? Hope the lounging helps you feel better - maybe some iPlayer, too?

Norf I'm imagining your application BESH-style...Grin

Off to catch a train, chicas -

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 09/11/2011 10:32

MadMonkeys · 09/11/2011 10:56

HaveALittleFaithBaby - just curious. Shall I back away slowly?

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 09/11/2011 11:01

:) we are Bitter Evil Selfish Hags, based on a piece from the Daily mail I believe about women who wait til their 30s to have kids. That iz wot we iz.
