Hello - after a while of TTC with nothing but a chemical pregnancy I have purchased myself a shiny new CBFM in the hope it will make things a bit less stressful. I was an advocate of just having SWI everyother day but in reality that it quite a lot for me and DH and the poor thing works very long hours so not always possible.

I'm starting this thread for anyone else who's started TTC using the CBFM in the hope we can give eachother a little support etc.....

I'm on day 5 today so think i have to start POAS tomorrow......

Anyone out there who wants to join the journey?!!

You might want to make your way over to this thread which is a well-established support thread for CBFM users.

iloveberries · 26/10/2011 13:07

thanks doris i will do..... if any other CBFM newbies want to chat here that might be nice too.

Thanks :)

Count me in!!! Waiting for af to show today probably, got my monitor and I'm ready to go!!!

Good idea starting this thread, was thinking of doing it myself!!

crystaltea36 · 26/10/2011 14:14

Hi iloveberries I bought one to start using last month but didn't use new batteries and it stopped working half way through the month so I am starting again today in fact as Aunt Flo arrived this morning! thanks for starting this thread, the other one is huge and thought I'd get lost in there!!

nearlymumofone · 26/10/2011 16:33

ok. So af arrived just now.

Am I right in thinking I need to start using CBFM tomorrow and put tmr as day 1?

iloveberries · 27/10/2011 08:38

hey ladies - glad you're here!

nearly - yes, you are right so hopefully you set it this morning in the middle of what you want your 6 hour window to be. if you didn't then you can reset it tomorrow as day 2.

I did my first POAS this morning and all very easy. Feeling a bit more positive now about TTC.

Hi crystal how annoying that it stopped halfway through the month!

Remember that in the first month it might give you a massively long fertile window, so don't get too shagged out at the beginning of it and have no energy left when it finally shows you the eggy. Good luck!

iloveberries · 27/10/2011 13:38

hehe - thanks for the tip kitandkat - i have been charting for several months now so pretty sure i know when i ov but have been as you say getting too shagged out in the past few months. fingers crossed for this time :)

And also prepare that you may never see the egg symbol. I used CBFM for 3 months, got 'high' readings for most of my cycle (at least 18 days out of a 25 day cycle) and never once got a peak.

KatAndKit · 27/10/2011 21:22

Garrotting, I would think that would be a good reason to see a doctor and ask for checks that you are in fact ovulating.

GarrottingItLaldy · 27/10/2011 21:25

Oh, I'm pretty sure I'm ovulating.

Unless I am the only woman in history to get pregnant without ovulating Wink

iloveberries · 28/10/2011 07:34

thanks for the warnings! Still trying to think positive about it all though!

So far enjoying having a new gadget - wonder how long that will last!!!

Hi,

Used it for the first time today (day 6 of cycle) and got a high reading (2 bars), is this normal for the first time you test? What did anyone else get?

Garrotting so you got pg on a cycle where you only had highs and no peak?

GarrottingItLaldy · 01/11/2011 19:02

Yes, nearly, that's correct.

I was prepared not to see a peak on the first cycle while the CBFM gets to know your cycle. But never got a peak on any of the next 2 cycles either even though I got pg so defintely ovulated.

nearlymumofone · 01/11/2011 19:29

Thanks for that info Garrotting it's the kind of think I'd have worried about I know!

Did you get a high reading on your first test?

GarrottingItLaldy · 01/11/2011 19:46

I got highs from day 7.

nearlymumofone · 01/11/2011 19:46

Thanks Garrotting. And congrats on your BFP!

GarrottingItLaldy · 01/11/2011 21:44

Thank you.

Hope it's not too long until you get yours Smile

iloveberries · 03/11/2011 16:03

just saying hi!

I am on CD 14 today... been on highs since day 8 but no peak (yet)...

how are others getting to grips with the CBFM?

OP posts:
1sttimeBlondie · 03/11/2011 18:19

Hi All
I used CBFM for my last cycle - had highs from day 7 to 20 and no peak ... since then no AF (and not pregnant) so pretty lost as to where I am at the moment :-)

nearlymumofone · 03/11/2011 19:01

It sounds quite normal not to get peaks. With highs for most of the cycle I'm not sure how helpful this is (sorry to poo poo it already- only on day 8!!! but have had highs every day so far! and from what I'm reading from other people's posts it sounds as if that's pretty normal). I'm not sure how it increases conception by 89% in the first 2 cycles if you don't see a peak, unless people just go at it like the clappers for the whole cycle as it always reads high, so hit the ovulation time anyway??

1st time when was AF due?

iloveberries · 03/11/2011 19:25

nearly - i was thinking the same thing about getting to the 89% stat! I've heard it can take a couple of cycles to find your peak though...

I have been on a high from day 8...

nearlymumofone · 03/11/2011 20:19

I guess we just have to sit it out! fx for all of us

1sttimeBlondie · 04/11/2011 20:18

Hi nearlymumofone it was due ten days ago Hmm

1sttimeBlondie · 04/11/2011 20:21

I was also wondering if maybe some of the sticks are duds? I didn't check some of them and when looking at it after taking it out of the CBFM there wasn't a distinct line whereas on others the line was quite pronounced (this was 2 days in a row so doubt the hormones could have changed too much?) Confused
