Hello - after a while of TTC with nothing but a chemical pregnancy I have purchased myself a shiny new CBFM in the hope it will make things a bit less stressful. I was an advocate of just having SWI everyother day but in reality that it quite a lot for me and DH and the poor thing works very long hours so not always possible.

I'm starting this thread for anyone else who's started TTC using the CBFM in the hope we can give eachother a little support etc.....

I'm on day 5 today so think i have to start POAS tomorrow......

Anyone out there who wants to join the journey?!!

Thanks both! They are boxes of 20. So testing every day til CD26 would be enough?

Lexie1970 · 04/01/2012 14:09

I agree with Deelite CBFM and test sticks can be sold on ebay to recoup most of your expenditure. I tend to have at least 2 boxes but bought last lot off of Amazon - 40 sticks for about £30 .... Boots is outrageously expensive!!

Well I had my appointment with nurse today to start fertility referral rolling. She was checking progesterone level, rubella status etc and I was also being tested for clamydia which has never been done before - that wasn't nice at all and if I had known i was dropping my knickers the downstairs department would have been tidied up (I am so glad I shower in the morning and not a night) I have discovered I am not as tall as I thought I was subsequently I am fatter than I knew I was and I am 'obese' yuck, yuck, yuck. This is an added incentive to shift the weight.

She confirmed that my PCT draws the line at 37 so being 41 no hope of NHS treatment it will all have to be private so we need to think really carefully to what extent we are prepared to go to. In the first instance I just want to find out why my body is producing silly cycles, am I entering menopause early etc and then let us see what happens. Will sit down with OH over the next day or so and talk money and see what we are prepared to spend on our quest for a baby.

So 2 weeks time back to docs to talk over results.

Hope you are all doing ok!!

Gosh Lexie, I'm really shocked that your PCT draws the line at 37. Hope we're not living in the same area. Will your health insurance cover you? Mine says it does after 12 months of trying but I'm not sure what hoops they would want you to jump through to prove you'd been trying 12 months - dated photographs of us DTD no doubt.

I hate being weighed in a doctor's surgery as they weigh with clothes on etc whereas I usually weigh myself in the morning after I pee but before I dress or eat so as to get the best possible reading Xmas Grin.

HettyTurner · 08/01/2012 21:04

DeeLite me too! And hate being weighed at the doctors for the exact same reason!

Congratulations poirot great news!!

CD37 for me today and no AF, but I did get some spotting today so maybe it'll arrive tomorrow.

I was think the next month I might not start POSs until CD 12 or something just so that I don't get a false early positive, I don't think it'll effect the monitor too much.

Hello All

Hope everyone is well.

Due to having a miscarriage in January it has made me even more determined to have a child. We feel ready now after waiting a while :)

My partner and I bought the monitor and sticks and luckily on our second month it came up with my peak. They are expensive but hopefully so worthwhile.

Never give up :)

Hi, I'm a newbie to CB Grin. I have medical issues so want to ttc asap. Just started my first cycle yesterday. Daft question but am I right that when it tells you, you poas and then replace the lid BEFORE putting it back in the monitor? How on earth does the machine 'read' it with the lid on? Or have I totally misunderstood it Hmm
