And so it begins again.....

NinjaChipmunk · 10/10/2011 21:19

well, most of the days are quite busy, bits and bobs to do tomorrow, working weds and thurs and in laws down fri sat and sun for ds's birthday (i can't believe he's going to be 4) but the nights! dp is out tonight, away from tomorrow morning till late weds and he's away again mon, tues weds and poss thurs next week!! its the lull between dinnertime and bedtime that starts my mind ticking over and i hate it.

NinjaChipmunk · 10/10/2011 21:20

my degree was textiles - i can whip up a nice blue peter style project if thats any help to anyone (unlikely!)

Biscuitsandtea · 10/10/2011 21:21

In that case definitely line up some films or something to tide you over, or some good TV - otherwise these evenings on your own will drive you potty!

Anyway, nothing to wonder about since we all know your updiffed!

TheLittleFriend · 10/10/2011 21:23

Ninja is your ds's birthday the 16th? It's my dd's that day!

OP posts:
munkiii · 10/10/2011 21:23

Physics as well, specialist subject quantum so may be able to help with the time travel!?

NinjaChipmunk · 10/10/2011 21:29

yes little happy birthday to your dd too! How old will she be?

NinjaChipmunk · 10/10/2011 21:31

munkiii I'm seriously impressed. I think we should get you a special 'top boffin' hat for that. I'm not what you would call particularly academic, at least not in a sciencey kind of way but i am in awe of those that can do that kind of stuff.

Biscuitsandtea · 10/10/2011 21:35

Agreed on the top boffin hat for Munkii - you clever clever bean!

Loving the time travel idea for the 2ww though.....

munkiii · 10/10/2011 21:36

Yes but I have no common sense whatsoever and am the clumsiest person you will ever meet, so can't have it all!

munkiii · 10/10/2011 21:37

I shall hurry to my secret underground lab tonight then!

Now.....where is my lab coat!

TheLittleFriend · 10/10/2011 21:38

She'll be 2 Ninja. For some insane reason we're having a family picnic in the garden. I think we'll freeze! Have you got anything planned?

OP posts:
NinjaChipmunk · 10/10/2011 21:53

I think we'll be going to carters steam fair. Not been before and totally depends on the weather but I think it should be good. A picnic might not be too crazy an idea, we've had some lovely weather recently so you could be lucky. Babies born on the 16th are awesome!

shinyblackgrape · 10/10/2011 21:54

Aaaaahh - thank you! Much clearer. I am a right lazy sort (and a mathamatics-phobe) so am praying that the OPKs work. I really don't think I will be able to manage the temperature bit!

GenericDietCola · 10/10/2011 21:59

Wow Munkii much respect for your two degrees! And Biscuits a degree in maths - wow! I've got a degree in microbiology, but that's not terribly useful in everyday life especially as I've forgotten everything I learned!

Ninja I like Biscuits's suggestions re keeping yourself occupied in the evenings. Before TTC, I assumed people noticed their period was late and did a test. I was happily naive about the whole process of counting down the 2ww. Oh to be able to forget all about it.

dreamfeeder · 10/10/2011 21:59

Oh my goodness, maths, physics, embryology, textiles. I'm impressed at the highly educated brain cells being passed on in your procreation ladies! I did physio, and to get on, did A-level biology (fine), chemistry (big struggle) and swapped out of physics to geography as i couldn't handle the maths... Blush

dreamfeeder · 10/10/2011 22:02

And microbiology!!!

generic, I thought that too. I also assumed once you had a positive test you felt ill for a bit then bloomed, then produced one beautifully cooked baby. None of this quivering wreck over something going wrong, mc etc etc.

Biscuitsandtea · 10/10/2011 22:03

Oh a Maths degree is completely useless in real life. Haven't used one jot of it!

dreamfeeder · 10/10/2011 22:09

Ah but you have biscuits, just saying you have it gives people an instant idea of your intelligence and that's the whole point?! Plus, statistically you are 20% more likely to be employed with a maths degree than any other. Not necessarily in a maths field either iirc. If you want to be that is. Sahm rocks, I go back a week Wed, dreading it...

munkiii · 10/10/2011 22:18

It's a real thought to go back isn't it? I go back at the end of November.

Imps7 · 10/10/2011 22:24

Evening! Just checking in quickly to say "hello"! Been a busy day and busy evening and now it's bed time - why are there not more hours in the day??

Not had a chance to catch up but I hope everyone's okay. Who's next to PIAR??

Biscuitsandtea · 10/10/2011 22:25
DizzyKipper · 11/10/2011 06:37

Psyche degree over here - that's why I'm extremely qualified to say that chocolate and cakes are important for your mental health Grin

I've been very good and managed to avoid testing this morning. Took temp a few times last night and it's actually quite erratic!

musicalmrs · 11/10/2011 06:51

A couple of music degrees here. Very impressed by the maths, sciences, and general amount of intelligence the rat-smackers have!

dream, I shall phone my doctors on Thurs and book myself in.

Little, I'm getting on well (I think), thanks! Saw a heartbeat, and haven't bled for a week and a bit now - so all's good.

Generic, I was also completely naive as to just how complex the whole process was!

Do we really have to do Tuesday? Can't we skip it and go straight to bed?

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 11/10/2011 08:04

Fascinated by the degree chat ladies! My degree was Economics, everyone else's sounds much more interesting! Does that mean I'm the only person here working in the City?

Musical may I be the first to endorse your highly sensible suggestion that we just skip Tues! Let's face it, it's never going to be a fun exciting memorable day. It's just Tues! A day in bed would be far more useful to me than ANOTHER work day! Grin

So who is next to test? (Sorry, hopeless at keeping track)

Solars · 11/10/2011 09:10

Wow what a chatty lot you all are and intelligent to boot! I did my degree in Civil Engineering with Japanese language (not that the language has ever been useful, but would so love to go there!) Biscuits I wanted to do a maths degree but couldn't think what i'd use it for after so I opted for engineering instead! Scream I used to work in the city for an engineering consultancy, but not anymore!

Dizzy am I right in thinking it's your birthday today?? If so Happy Birthday Thanks (are you also the next to test too?)
