And so it begins again.....

shiny that's amazing customer service, I do love John Lewis. My only complaint is they've taken their yarns off their website which means you can't "click and collect" to a store of your choosing :(

ScrambledSmegs · 22/10/2011 10:36

Morning preggos! My, you are all positively glowing this morning.

shiny I believe the rat-smacking was mentioned on the first thread, a poster said getting pg was like playing smack the rat, it's all in the timing Grin.

Hmm, having just read some of the relentless positivity on this thread, I have decided to throw away all my tampons and buy ante-natal vitamins today. Clearly I am upduffed. I had awful wind last night Blush and my left boob is tingly.

shinyblackgrape · 22/10/2011 10:50

Smegs - aaahhhhhhhhh! I thank you!

I haven't thrown out the tampons but didn't buy anymore this month when I saw some on special offer.

I have awful wind too - is that a sign?! Boobs feel slightly painful but I think that is from DH and I squeezing them to see if they feel sore [hgrin]

shinyblackgrape · 22/10/2011 10:53

popcorn - that's annoying! I find it annoying that you can't buy knives online to "stop knife crime"

I hardly think that the average murderer/robber is going to treat themselves to a £100 knife ordered online and delivered to them personally (thus allowing the police to trace them) when planning their crime spree!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 22/10/2011 11:03

getting pregnant is just like playing 'smack the rat'
As written in the original thread. 'I'm jolly well going to get pregnant this month and I'll brook no argument'.Allhailtheaubergine

Stasi · 22/10/2011 11:15

Hi everyone, can I join your thread? I've been stalking it for a couple of days, and you all seem like really nice people. I've been ttc for the last year and a bit, 15 cycles. Don't want to count up exactly how long it's been. Got doctors appointment on Monday so hoping to start the test ball rolling then.

On other news, I like baking cakes too, though my OH likes savoury more than sweet so I end up making more pies, bread and stews etc. I've joined a few threads on MN now, but I like your positivity, and that you talk about more than ttc and af.

I can't easily reference your other posts on my phone to chat about the recent things you've all said. I'm glad scans and things have been good, and that someone described what "rat snacking" was. I had come up with a slightly different interpretation...

Thank you everyone for just being yourselves and giving me something to think about this morning.

dreamfeeder · 22/10/2011 11:35

Yawn... Have been up since 2am with my ill dd. She still had a temp of 39 after calpol, freezing hands and feet and lethargic this morning. She has perked up a bit now thank goodness and even stood up :-) we won't discuss the explosive diarrhoea and emergency bath. I'm relieved she's more cheerful but I'm shattered.

I disagree- I'd just stocked up on a tampon offer when i got my bfp so i recommend that route!!!!! Though you will then have a cupboard chock full of unneeded tampons to store for years. Well, I think I was well over a year a half without a period as a bf-er after the pg bit.

shinyblackgrape · 22/10/2011 11:52

Stasi - hello! Welcome . Lovely to see you.

I'm pretty new myself to this thread and to ttc (first cycle). DH and I just got married last month and have no DC so I'm a bit of an imposter really.

very nice to meet a fellow baker/cook. I've never really made a savoury pie with pastry but I'm inspired now by the delivery if my new Great British bake off recipe book which arrived yesterday.

I will probably be back with sone misshapen article to offer round soon! Today's task is pear and plum crumble and banana bread though.

I'm trying to tear myself away from the bachelor though. Have 2 episodes sky plussed. Does anyone else watch? It's car crash tv! Even DH can't avert his eyes!

TheLittleFriend · 22/10/2011 12:40

Hi Stasi nice to meet you.

Sorry to hear you're ill maybe, and your dd too dream.

Munk My first glance read your post as "we're going to the science centre to learn more on Rat Smacking". I thought, wow, you're keen!!

BeedleTheBard · 22/10/2011 13:17

Hello ladies, mind if I join you? I've been lurking for a bit, but obviously the brooking no argument only works if you actually join as I'm not pg. Though I believe that now I have joined I am officially pregnant [hgrin].

I'm not very good at baking so I'll just hand round some pick n mix.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 22/10/2011 13:39

Welcome to all the newbies! It's lovely to see you all, and I hope you'll be scooting over to the antenatal thread very shortly!

Just wanted to pop my head in and see how you're all doing. That's excellent news on your results Farfalla! Also, very glad to hear Imps' new job is coming together so nicely!

Who's next to test ladies? (Sorry I can't keep up!) Wishing you all the best of luck getting those pee sticks under control!

DrMunkenstein · 22/10/2011 14:38

Ooh pick n mix? Yes please!

I am still in my 'fertile window' and am using preseed for the next few days, so I shall have given myself every chance. We'll see...

Hello new joiners! I have only been on a week or so, and the ladies here are very lovely.

Solars · 22/10/2011 14:53

Hello ladies and welcome to the newbies!!

Ahh so Imps that is how you pronounce the name! And congratulations on the job front.

Great to hear the results so far are all good Farfalla not long to wait now for your appointment.

Hope all of you are who are not feeling well get well soon including all the DC's too.

Scream not sure who is next, I think possibly Popcorn, Scrambled and even Generic (???) when she comes back may be next, although don't quote me. I'm still SWI and don't think I've ov'd yet so still a loooooooong way off from testing!!

DrMunk we're also using preseed (messy stuff)

Did someone say they were baking today? anything ready?

Solars · 22/10/2011 14:54

oh yes and Maybe great to hear your results a good too!

DrMunkenstein · 22/10/2011 15:04

I have two lines on my OPK again?!

Do you get this a few days in a row? They have never worked for me before so am new to this.

Sorry not quite caught up with the thread yet...

shinyblackgrape · 22/10/2011 15:12

Hi munk - I has two last week. One in Friday afternoon and one on Saturday. Pretty sure I ov-ed on sat night as I had a sore side. Only one line on Friday morning ( i.e not positive).

I've only used them once though!

shinyblackgrape · 22/10/2011 15:18

solars - have some banana loaf!

Af is due for me next sat or Sunday. Stupidly tested today. Of course BFN! DH now has custody of the rest of the first responses!

DrMunkenstein · 22/10/2011 15:19

Cheers shiny, this is only our first month of TTC but took 16 months to conceive DD so keen to maximise my chances!

I love POAS.com.

CakePigeon · 22/10/2011 16:06

popcorn sorry to hear about your temps dropping. Hope next month is your month. I tested this morning and BFN Sad hopefully it's just too early

Yes, where is generic? she said she'd be back in time for testing...

Hello to all new people!

GenericDietCola · 22/10/2011 20:07

I'm back, I'm back and I've missed so much!

Firstly, congratulations to Dizzy - glad you got your convincing BFP and of course HUGE congratulations to Ninja - I knew this was your month! I have actually been thinking of you during my week away and hoping for good news for you! Gutted I missed live BFP action

Imps - timing? Redundancy? New Job? It all equates to a baby in my book!

Maybe and Farfalla hurrah re your collective normal results.

I second Little re Maybe and Imps cooking at our baby and bumpathon in a few months!

Popcorn how are you? Did AF arrive? Hope you are OK.

Shiny sorry you're finding this such a rollercoaster. It can be stressful at times, but I liked your original spirit of trying to take things as they come. You will work out a way to cope with childcare and the ups and downs of TTC and of course you are definitely preggo this month anyway.

Welcome Stasi and Beedle - this is the place to be.

Biscuits, Cake and Solars thanks for asking after me! We had a fab holiday thanks. We stayed a few miles outside York and it was wonderful, lots to do and DD really enjoyed it! I am now 11 dpo and firmly following Imps rules to boob ache in that I have boob ache, therefore I am pregnant and I will Brook No Argument. Not confirming til next weekend though - I just don't trust the peesticks at this stage.

Biscuitsandtea · 22/10/2011 20:12

Yay welcome back Generic. glad you have achey boobs bf are therefore totally updiffed. Look forward to seeing the confirmation next weekend Smile

GenericDietCola · 22/10/2011 20:14
