Sperminated Grin Grin Grin

Brilliant Popcorn Glad you are feeling better, your BFP is just around the corner, I can feel it in my waters!

Solars! How are you doing?

Solars · 20/10/2011 15:35

Popcorn I was Shock by that too but i'm pretty sure that was what Bartlet had written, i've just checked back...yes tis what is written, unless i'm reading it wrong (which isn't very difficult for me Blush)

Maybe I'm good thanks, SWI has started and really hope this our month [fingers crossed smiley] little concerned about you though with your positive opks, did you say you had an appointment with the drs about what is going on? are you sure you're not pg?

possiblemaybebaby · 20/10/2011 15:46

Thank you for your concern Solars Smile

I had blood tests last week, as she thought I may not have been ovulating due to my weird spotting (though it had never happened before, and I have no other symptoms other than a slightly longer cycle). I had a positive OPK last night (first I have ever done) so am going to see what happens over the next few days.

I know some women with PCOS have high levels of LH all the time, but I also read that this leads to an increase in testosterone, with many of these women having the associated facial hair/acne, neither of which I have.

All very confusing. It may just be that last cycle was a tad weird, and that I am ovulating now. I wish wish wish that I am pregnant, though I know that that is probably just wishful thinking.

Sorry about the ramble and me me me post there everyone Blush

This month Will be your month Solars Grin

Solars · 20/10/2011 15:53

Thank you Maybe as it will be yours too! I was secretly hoping you would come back on the thread with your ironic bfp!

Hope the gp gets to the bottom of what is going on!

Imps7 · 20/10/2011 16:49

Howzabout we make this month the month for everyone?? A BFP free for all?? I vote yes!

In even more exciting Timing Couldn't Be Worse developments, I have just been put at risk of redundancy! I know that this should cause me a lot of concern and upset, but it's been in the pipeline for a long time (as in I haven't had enough work to do since I started 4 years ago...) and I hate my job with every ounce of my being and simply haven't had the guts to do anything about it - this is absolutely the kick up the arse I need. Plus, if I am able to start work with my former boss in April I can simply be a preggo lady wot lunches between now and then! My OH will be thrilled!

DizzyKipper · 20/10/2011 17:16

Excellent idea Imps, I second the notion. Also kind of sorry to hear about the redundancy risk - even if it's a job you hate it's still not nice to be fired - but at the same time it does sound like things will be a lot more positive for you if they do let you go - I figure you spend so much of your life in work it's important to enjoy it. So here's to hopefully a brighter future without this job and working with your former employer Grin

BartletForAmerica · 20/10/2011 18:01

Solars, Popcorn, sorry for not being clear. The egg can't survive for 5 days, but if ovulation happens 48 hours later, the egg can survive for another 48 hours, so covering all bases, the egg could be around to be fertilised for up to (at the longest shot) 4-5 days after the positive OPK. I was taking no chances! Smile Sperm can last 5 days though so all that pre-positive OPK SWI counts too! (Tired out at the thought of it all now!)

PopcornMouse · 20/10/2011 18:19

Ohhhhhhh :o

I have a question oh wise one about basal temps - FF say you ovulate on the day of your temperature dip, whereas countdowntopregnancy.com (which also has charting software) says the rise the day after is the ovulation day - which is right? [hhmm]

Imps7 · 20/10/2011 18:20

Popcorn - I think you ovulate the day before the temperature rise, whether you've had a dip on that day or not. Not everyone has an ovulation dip - I don't!

PopcornMouse · 20/10/2011 18:23

Oh really! I seeee :O)

possiblemaybebaby · 20/10/2011 18:23

Imps this is brilliant news (in a round-about way) Oh, it really couldn't be worse timing Grin

ScrambledSmegs · 20/10/2011 18:58

Wowser. You've been chatting loads! What have I missed?

Right. I can't really add much that hasn't already been said (and much better than I could too) but just wanted to say Popcorn - too early! And duff pee stick too, obviously.

far good luck for fannycam!

Imps sorry about possible redundancy, but also yay! for ironic bfp's and clouds/silver linings.

maybe congratulations on your first successful temping! It's a bit odd, isn't it? Still feels like I'm doing something a bit shifty!

Have turned into a domestic goddess today, as a way to keep my mind off the 2ww. Churned out 4 mini and 2 big cottage pies and a spiced blackberry and apple crumble, plus some playdough for DD. Also did vast amounts of washing, as well as taking DD to a playgroup in the morning and to the park in the afternoon. I am shattered now. Luckily my boxset of Modern Family has arrrived, so I can have a sit down and a giggle later. What does everyone else do to take their minds off everything?

DizzyKipper · 20/10/2011 19:00

Popcorn - I think the temperature rise is caused by the increase in progesterone, which occurs just after ovulation.

CakePigeon · 20/10/2011 19:32

scrambled I had a 12 hour day at work :( bad times. When are you testing??

imps any chance they'll cock up your redundancy so you might get a bit extra cash? Wink they probably have to be super careful making employment lawyers redundant!

PopcornMouse · 20/10/2011 19:45

thanks Dizzy, I didn't know that!

scrambled I am working to take my mind off it (though it's not really optional, I'd have been working if I'd gotten a bfp too ) and tonight is downton night, so vino, homemade chilli and a bit of upstairsy-downstairsy goodness possibly taped and watched later :o

DrMunkenstein · 20/10/2011 19:46

Two lines on my OPK! So pleased means I am building up for ovulation, the second line was fainter than the first so still negative but the first time two lines have shown up!

So relieved.

ScrambledSmegs · 20/10/2011 19:49

Aw, that sucks Cake. Although on the days when I am at work I have less trouble not thinking about it, so there is something to be said for work. Are you ok? Did you have a bad day?

Not testing till next week. I have no pee-sticks in the house anyway (apart from OPK's) and ridiculously short cycles mean that I don't normally need a pee-stick to tell me I'm not pregnant Angry.

So, last night I mentioned to DH that my boobs felt weird, a bit tingly. He instantly googled it and told me that it was a sign of pregnancy and it must mean I was pg! It made me laugh as it's something a no-brooking rat-smacker would say. Hmm wonder if he's been reading this thread...

PopcornMouse · 20/10/2011 19:49
PopcornMouse · 20/10/2011 19:51

Yay! Well done Munk - what are you doing on MN, you should be rat smacking!!! ;)

ScrambledSmegs · 20/10/2011 19:55

Great news!

dreamfeeder · 20/10/2011 19:56

hooray for positive OPK's!!!

Go sperminate!!! :Love that word Grin

I am having a wobble today as I've had some bad cramping, the kind of thing I've never had before today and last night. Obviously this is just cramping and not a sign of miscarriage and everything will be just fine as long as I don't think about it I'm sure of that

Also i can't keep up with this thread, i'm just dipping in and out now!

dreamfeeder · 20/10/2011 19:57

tingly boobs you say? Updiffed, surely drmunk

possiblemaybebaby · 20/10/2011 19:57

Great news Munk !

Scrambed you are a domestic goddess. I bake and knit and exercise to take my mind off things.

I just did another OPK. Lie still there, but faint, so I'm guessing that this means my surge was yesterday, and I am ok after all?! Much relief. DH has agreed that the rat needs smacking for a few days to make sure. But even if it doesn't happen this month, I feel a little happier that maybe my ovaries are not shrivelled little raisins after all Grin

DrMunkenstein · 20/10/2011 20:08

DH not here not back til tomorrow!

But sperm can live a while right? There was SWI on Tuesday
