And so it begins again.....

OP posts:
NinjaChipmunk · 16/10/2011 21:57

I'm liking both your namechange and your muffins, good work! I don't know how you cope with cycles that vary that much. It must really make make swi rather intense especially if you have to go at it every other night for a month! You deserve a medal for that!

DrMunkenstein · 16/10/2011 22:00

You do what you have to do, and yes it is epic!

It took 16 months to conceive DD and I was mightily relieved for many reasons! Wink

I am really hoping things settle down.

I thought the name change was quite apt considering the mad scientist think!

Are you testing soon ninja I fear I am not quite up to date with everybody's situation.

NinjaChipmunk · 16/10/2011 22:08

af is due somewhere between weds and fri so would be after that. It does get mightily confusing trying to remember where everyone is each month, this thread moves fast. How old is your DD? DS was 4 today. He was conceived first month of trying. Am on month 19 trying for #2!

DrMunkenstein · 16/10/2011 22:12

She is ten months. Am trying now as antcipating a rocky road.

All the best for number two, have you had tests, sorry if I am being too nosy.

We had been referred after a year with DD.

NinjaChipmunk · 16/10/2011 22:16

yes, been referred, had pelvic ultrasound and HSG last month. Just waiting for follow up appointment now but that might not be till end of November. It will happen though, all that parping ain't for nothing!

DrMunkenstein · 16/10/2011 22:20

Absolutely Ninja, I love the positivity in this thread.

DizzyKipper · 17/10/2011 06:27

Grin @ Ninja's DS, sounds like he had a lovely birthday. Are you going to let him wear the costume at nursery? Also the wind does sound promising, I'm sure it's a sign!

Biscuitsandtea · 17/10/2011 06:34

Awesome news Dizzy Grin

And sounds wise to step away from the tests too - I was later past AF than you and still not getting test lines darker than the control line. I do think as well all tests have different amounts of die etc in them, even within the same pack. So just congratulations!

Imps7 · 17/10/2011 08:39

Give us a B!
B!
Give us an F!
F!
Give us a P!
P!
And what have you got?
BFP!

Well done Dizzy!! Fantastic news!

Oh, and Ninja - good work on the parps!

Biscuitsandtea · 17/10/2011 08:41

Ha ha - see what I did there....

farfallarocks · 17/10/2011 08:49

Ah well done dizzy that is fantastic news, it was about time for a BFP!!!

Popcorn progesterone is what stops the lining of the womb breaking down so its a very important hormone for early pregnancy I think!

Great news on all the scans ladies!

AF arrived this morning as expected, no immaculate conception tee hee.

DH was so sweet this morning and was saying, well you don't need to be sad this month do you, because we weren't trying. Bless him.

Ninka hope your DS had a lovely birthday!

Biscuitsandtea · 17/10/2011 08:53

Morning Farfalla - boo to AF (even if it would have had to have been an immaculate conception)

When is it you have your next appt to follow up on your gallons of blood tests?

Is it November? Or might you get a shot this month after all?

farfallarocks · 17/10/2011 08:56

Hi biscuits, its November 3rd so will be too late for a try this month but hopefully perfectly timed for a holiday baby as we go on holiday about 2 weeks after the appointment!

Biscuitsandtea · 17/10/2011 08:59

Well that does sound like rather perfect timing Farfalla. And I know I've asked this before but I am officialy a bit thick, but this appt is for the results of the blood tests right? Can you remind me what they were looking for and what they might be able to do to make your beans stickier? I promise not to ask ever again even if I forget again Blush

Solars · 17/10/2011 09:02

Morning

Congratulations again Dizzy

Loving the name DrMunenstein

Glad you still have your symptom Ninja so pg! and glad to hear yours & Littles kiddies had a lovely birthday.

Very impressed with your cartwheels Imps a bit early in the day for me to join in though!

Sorry about af Farfalla but not long to wait now :)

farfallarocks · 17/10/2011 09:09

No problem biscuits!
They are testing me for all sorts of blood clotting problems just to rule it out.
DH and I also had our chromosones tested to see if there is anything about our combination that could be the cause.
Also having an in depth thyroid profile blood test and an ultrasound to check ovaries for PCOS and the womb lining too.

The appointment in November is discuss all of the results. If it is hormonal/thyroid problem which I and the consultant suspect it is then I would take Thyroxine (for underactive thyroid) and then progesterone.

You deserve a medal if you are still following this!

Biscuitsandtea · 17/10/2011 09:13

Well it certainly seems as though they are covering all the bases there which is good Farfalla.

Do I understand then that you still have the PCOS ultrasound to come? When will that be? Or has it already happened?

You are so going to get that holiday baby! I hope you're going somewhere exotic sounding so that when you have to name the baby after where it was conceived (a la the Beckhams) it will be a classy sounding name Wink

shinyblackgrape · 17/10/2011 09:13

Hi All!

Just catching up on all the news. Sorry I've not been here for a bit, we got the pink line on the OPKs on Friday night so been busy since then.

Dizzy - congratulations again!

Happy belated birthdays to all the DCs!

Dr Munkenstein - thank you for the muffins! Love the seasonal name change too

From saying that I am going to be completely relaxed and it could take a year etc etc, I am now googling obsessively to see what tests I can use and how early. Must. Stop. This.

farfallarocks · 17/10/2011 09:14

Yes scan still to come, its next week!

We are going to India (and yes I have already joked with DH about a daughter called India!!)

farfallarocks · 17/10/2011 09:15

shiny, glad you had a busy weekend!!

I can relate to the 'oooh it could take 2 years' to OMG why I am not pregnant first month reversal!

PopcornMouse · 17/10/2011 09:16

Mooooorning.

little kids parties are so much fun - I'm glad yours cheered you up! :)

Boooo Far, I was brooking for an immaculate conception ;)

I am feeling officially down in the dumps today - for no particular reason, I hasten to add. I just feel like this isn't the month for me and I just feel effed off with it all - do you guys get days like that?
Last night I even dreamed that I was looking at the dailymail website and it was chock full of pregnancy stories, because of course the rest of the world are all paid up members of the weren't even trying brigade Confused

Ok, enough being indulgent wallowing! Blush What do we want? Big Fat Babies Positives! When do we want them? In 4 days time! :o

Biscuitsandtea · 17/10/2011 09:18

Ooh, that's actually quite passable Far! Better than Center Parcs, which is where we tend to go..... (I guess we would probably shorten to 'CP' for them though?)

Glad you've had a busy weekend Shiny WinkWink. Hope it all pays off :)

Forgot to say happy birthday to Little and Ninja's DC - hope great fun was had by all.

I should also apologise - I feel I've derailed the thread this morning away from Dizzy's BFP - Which is still the awesomest news - congrats again :)

PopcornMouse · 17/10/2011 09:20

Wow, missed loads in the time it took me to type that!

Far thanks for the info re progesterone, I think I'm going to have to cut down on the booze, just for peace of mind tbh (sob). I'm glad they're doing so many tests, I hope they come back with something positive!

Love the new name DrMunkenstein!

Shiny it sounds like you had a very fun weekend indeed ;)

farfallarocks · 17/10/2011 09:21

biscuits :)

popcorn its so normal to have days like that, I go from being positive and hopeful to complete despair, normally when I go for a walk around the common (most weekends) and its just full of babies and I think how hard can it be, everyone else seems to be able to manage it!!! Here, have a croissant, its delicious and calorie free :)

Solars · 17/10/2011 09:37

Oh Popcorn I definitely have days like that too, I was feeling like that at the end of my last cycle, just a few days before af's arrival! It's normal however I am Brooking. No. Argument. that you're proven wrong in 4 days time!!!
