And so it begins again.....

Nuts have more fat than chocolate (apparently) :o

TheLittleFriend · 13/10/2011 13:12

boo hoo I'm pissed off. Back to day 1 of stupidly short cycles. Really thought we'd cracked it with the acupuncture this month. I'm off to wallow in self pity this afternoon.

OP posts:
farfallarocks · 13/10/2011 13:19

little :) how short are they?

ScrambledSmegs · 13/10/2011 13:20

Great news, Bartlet and Scarlet!

Bebe Yay for your BFP! Sorry to hear you've had a tough time of it. I'm Brooking No Argument for you and your little one. If it helps, I used to read a blog called 'Who's the Mummy', and the blogger once wrote about her pregnancy. She bled copiously approximately every fortnight or so, and she was monitored heavily throughout. I think her gorgeous, healthy little girl is 5 now Smile. Pregnancy is weird, anyway .

Dizzy ooh, I am soooo excited for you. Clearly those pee sticks will be confirming your obvious pregnancy very soon.

I am slowly recovering from my stomach bug. It seems to be doing the rounds at the moment, judging from another thread on MN today. If anyone else gets really bad stomach cramps (and I mean crippling, on the floor sobbing, cramps) coupled with D & maybe some V, then Do Not Fear, it is nothing more ominous than this winter's special viral gift. I've been taking Floradix (doctor's orders, low iron + v run down) and I swear it's helped me recover far quicker than I would have done.

ScrambledSmegs · 13/10/2011 13:24

Oh Sad little. Are you taking B6?

We managed to get a quick game of smack the rat in last night too. DH was a trooper, bless him.

TheLittleFriend · 13/10/2011 13:28

Farfalla 14 days this time. It's too heavy for ovulation bleeding. Last month got to 24 days which was the longest since before dd. Two before that were both 12 days.

Scrambled I've been on B6 for a few months now and really thought it had worked last month, combined with the acupuncture i've been having. I'm gutted today. Sad

ScrambledSmegs · 13/10/2011 13:37

Oh no! Have you seen the GP about your short cycles? Sorry if you've already said.

DizzyKipper · 13/10/2011 13:44

Glad you also have outstanding seduction skills Generic, perhaps you can try out Dream's chat up lines tonight and let us know how they go? Grin

Ninja you have my sympathies, the 2ww is awful - thankfully MN is ehre and does help to make it go quicker.

Little sorry to hear your cycles are not behaving. I'm sorry for not remembering but is this something you've already been to the doctors about? I think you deserve some Thanks today.

Scrambled that does sound awful poor you, good thing the Floradix is helping. And your DH does sound good (not sure what my OH would say if I wanted SWI when also suffering from D & V).

farfallarocks · 13/10/2011 13:45

little 14 days is very odd indeed. Are you sure its a period? I would definitely go and see your GP about this as this would count as irregular bleeding and should be investigated.

DizzyKipper · 13/10/2011 13:46

Do you temp Little?

NinjaChipmunk · 13/10/2011 13:47

oh little you poor thing. I really hoped you had cracked it too. Could it be a blip maybe? Or heaving spotting?

Biscuitsandtea · 13/10/2011 15:08

Breaking wee news from the Biscuit camp

You'll all be delighted to hear that in fact my wee passed the mw's mysterious 'not-sure-what-they're-testing-for' test. :) She didn't seem bothered by the cloudyness and said there was nothing odd with it so not to worry. So I'm not :)

Other than that appt was good - basically nothing to it. Blood pressure (which I guess was fine, they never said anything), update notes and listen for heartbeat. We had a trainee mw in there too who took an absolute age to find the heartbeat but did get there eventually, which was something of a relief. I was just starting to panic a bit! Apparently it was a heart rate of about 140 which she said was perfectly fine. But it sounded loads slower than I remember DSs sounding (his was like a galloping horse, this was just like a fast normal heart)

All the time we were waiting for her to find the heartbeat Dh and DS were having the following conversation:

DS: Can we go now?
DH: Let's just listen to this a minute
DS: Daddy, can you read this story now?
DH: Let's just listen to this a minute
DS: Can we go now?
DH: Let's just listen to this a minute
DS: Daddy, can you read this story now?
DH: Let's just listen to this a minute

And so on.....

Now Little I'm so sorry to hear this has been another short cycle - as Dizzy says, is this something you've been to your GP about? Apologies also if you've told me this before.

Scrambled glad you're feeling better and also glad your DH took his rat smacking duties seriously last night. Clearly our brooking and disapproving looks aimed at him after turning you down the night before Now, this surely puts you in a similar boat to Bartlet and her shingles in terms of having a guaranteed BFP?

Bebe welcome and congratulations on your bfp :) It certainly sounds as if you've had a tough journey thus far, but you are in absolutely the right place for lots of support and hand holding. And the two threads Scarlet mentioned are both lovely supportive places too - I find a nice healthy mix of these three threads has set me up nicely :)

Apologies if I've missed anyone else xx

scarletfingernail · 13/10/2011 15:12

Oh no Little Sad

Is it definitely AF? Are we sure it's not implantation? Sorry you're feeling rubbish.

DizzyKipper · 13/10/2011 15:16

Woohoo really good to hear everything went well, although I'm surprised she didn't give you a heart attack what with taking so blooming ages to find that heart beat. Still, we all have to learn at some point I guess. Can just imagine your DH and DS now, poor DH lol Anyway, how about a mexican wave for little biscuits and all of the other positive reports we've been getting back lately?

ScrambledSmegs · 13/10/2011 15:24

Fantastic news, Biscuits! Love the conversation between your DH & DS Grin. I remember my MW took ages to find DD's heartbeat the first time, I guess because they're so tiny at this stage it's difficult to find them. Elusive little blighters.

Bebe I just re-read my post where I mentioned the blog, and realised that I came across a bit pessimistic, which is not what this thread is about at all. I only meant that some I've heard of this sort of thing before (and much more alarming) and I am Brooking No Argument that it means nothing, and you will have a wonderful, healthy pregnancy. Hope that's ok with you!

Now, I don't really know if a couple of days of illness really count as much as shingles, but I'll take what I can get. BFP, you WILL be MINE!!!

PopcornMouse · 13/10/2011 15:32
PopcornMouse · 13/10/2011 15:34

Gosh Little that's everso short. If you've not been to your GP, I'd definitely go - and insist they look into it.

Biscuits that is too cute :o

Biscuitsandtea · 13/10/2011 15:37

Yeah Little I wondered if it was definitely AF? Either way, sorry you're feeling poo :(

Thanks ladies - yes it must be hard for them to find the teeny tiny little thing (especially through my, erm, substantial padding!). And the baby is still surprisingly far down - like right at the top of my lady garden Blush. Which really does not explain what on earth is in this massive above-the-belly-button bump?

Biscuitsandtea · 13/10/2011 15:39
Solars · 13/10/2011 15:39

Welcome & congratulations Bebe on your bfp, will be brooking no argument for a healthy & happy pregnancy for you and really hope you can enjoy it soon.

Well done Bartlet on your scan and really hope you feel better soon.

Biscuits great news on the MW appointment and poor little DS, didn't sound like it was fun for him, please pass on this from me [hgrin]

Oh Little everyone else has said what I would have but just wanted to add that I really hope you can stay positive.

Scrambled great to hear DH is playing ball again.

Not much else to report from me...

NinjaChipmunk · 13/10/2011 15:51

biscuits surely your current bump is where all your insides have been pushed up to make room for the baby, and as baby grows, baby will take over more of the bump?
Yes please for melty cheese and nachos.

NinjaChipmunk · 13/10/2011 15:51

hey solars where are you on your cycle?

NinjaChipmunk · 13/10/2011 15:51

and more importantly how's the clomid going?

Solars · 13/10/2011 15:58

Hey Ninja I'm still at the very start of the cycle CD4 and on my 3rd day of taking clomid, thankfully there are no signs of side effects yet and i'll be really happy that it stays that way. Tablets only have to be taken from CD2 to CD6. Unfortunately i won't be getting scans so will just have to hope that something os working with them down below. How are you and where are you on your cycle?

NinjaChipmunk · 13/10/2011 16:05

In the middle of the 2ww. Got a busy weekend coming up which is good but lots of time next week to drive myself mad at the last minute! Glad to hear the clomid isn't giving you side effects. Fingers crossed for your bfp in a month!
