And so it begins again.....

OP posts:
farfallarocks · 12/10/2011 14:46

Hurrah for scarlet's wavy baby!!

imps I have looked at your chart and its very impressive indeed. I know NOTHING about charting but I like the idea something so scientific. Hmmmmm

Do you use OPKs as well?
I am thinking of ditching of all paraphenalia when we start TTC again and just doing sperm meet eggs, which is bascially loads and loads of shagging. Not sure I will be able to convince DH though, sensitive soul that he is.

EWCM - I get it some months and not others (or at least notice it some months) but the 2 months I have got BFPs I have not noticed it! I would not worry about it.

Solars great news on the clomid. I just had lunch with a friend at work who conceived her dd first round of clomid. Sheis so polycystic she never has AF, ever and never ovulated! She had no side effects either.

Imps7 · 12/10/2011 14:49

I think Dr Google's advice (so make of it what you will!) re: Evening Primrose oil is that it can improve EWCM, but you should only take it up to ovulation and not during the luteal phase for uterus contractions reason. I did think about it, but figured that I have enough EWCM, plus it's another expense that I can do without!

Popcorn - if you go to "analysis" you can chose "chart overlay" - I think that you need to have the VIP membership to do it though.

Scarlet SO pleased that the scan went well and that the little one likes bananas! Now you can start tagging other people in your scan photos on Facebook Wink

Imps7 · 12/10/2011 14:53

I did attempt one month with OPKs Farfalla but didn't get on with them at all - as soon as I got a positive it made me panic that we had to have sex THAT DAY otherwise there was no point - that's what led to me going slightly mental at OH which caused him to stress out in return! In any event, they were wrong that cycle - I actually ovulated a week later and they didn't turn positive at all in the run up to that.

Which means I now have loads of cheapy OPKs which I am using as well as preggo test pee sticks when PIAR!

farfallarocks · 12/10/2011 14:57

A week later!! Bloody hell. Were you using the digital ones? I can;t read the chepay OPK's accurately enough!

GenericDietCola · 12/10/2011 14:58

Oh Scarlet great news! So glad you can start telling everyone now! My DD waved on one of her scans and it was lovely!

Imps7 · 12/10/2011 15:02

I used the cheapy ones - wouldn't recommend them at all. TBH I am happy with just a lot of shagging in the run up to OV and then stopping as soon as I know OV has happened - luckily I have OV'd on days 18 or 19 for every one of my charted cycles so I know when the shagathon can start with a vengeance (and perhaps, more importantly, when it can stop!)

BartletForAmerica · 12/10/2011 15:21

Sorry not been around much. I've been feeling pretty ropey with lots of vomiting/nausea and have been dealing with a clingy DS going through separation anxiety! Thankfully he doesn't mind it when I throw up because he gets to stand looking into the toilet and normally that is forbidden!

Scrambled, I find it hilarious to have been cited in conversations at the Scrambled household. It is true: my secrets for BFP success were Pre-seed and Shingles! (The latter is less recommended.) Just get on with it, I say!

We have decided to have a private 8 week scan so that is tonight, so I would appreciate lots of Brooking until then.

For those with PCOS, just need to tell you about my friend with PCOS (previously mentioned her here) who come December time will have 4 babies under 3!

I'll have missed lots - sorry - but am Brooking No Argument for you all and will catch up properly later.

DizzyKipper · 12/10/2011 15:47

Thanks scarlet and solars - I'm a bit of a worrier and was worried people might think I was being rude or something.

Thanks popcorn - it's not as bad as it sounds as some days I'll be finishing around 2 (7am start) so not the longest days to worry about. Will also be cutting back once I'm getting heavily pregnant.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling too good Bartlet, I'll be Brooking for you and hope all goes well.

farfallarocks · 12/10/2011 15:55

Lots of brooking for Bartlet

p.s. does anyone find the 'I so want a girl' and 'Just had a scan and so disppointed its a boy' type posts unbelievable?
Maybe I am just hormonal or summat but I really want to post 'Go and hang out of the MC boards and get a grip'
Hmmmm, maybe I should ONLY hang out on this thread :)

DizzyKipper · 12/10/2011 16:10

Not seen those threads but can understand why you'd feel that way far. I always really wanted a boy - mainly because I've always gotten along a lot better with the males in my family and also I wanted that little version of OH to look after, I've also self-esteem issues so the thought of having a little girl who might resemble me and potential bonding issues had me nervous. When I got pregnant however I found I just could not bring myself to say or think that, I felt like I was betraying my baby and as though I'd be hurting her feelings if I hoped she was male. Instead whatever s/he was was going to be good enough for me.

PopcornMouse · 12/10/2011 16:15

Hi Bartlett! So sorry you're feeling crappy, though I have to admit I'm heartily amused by the thought of mini-Bartlett being fascinated by mummy puking :o

I agree far - got to feel for the poor kid Confused

PopcornMouse · 12/10/2011 16:17

Amazing, imps - I now have overlaid charts, hurrah! :o

farfallarocks · 12/10/2011 16:25

Ah dizzy I am sure any little girl that resembled you would be lush!

popcorn exactly, I can understand having a slight preference but I can't understand being at a scan, being told your baby is healthy and feeling disappointed. Or actually having a baby and thinking, gutted its a boy (there is a thread about it in birth announcements at the moment) and one in pregnancy about conceiving a girl. I waded into that one, whoops.

PopcornMouse · 12/10/2011 16:34

Some people just don't have a clue, far Hmm well done for daring to be the voice of reason!

DizzyKipper · 12/10/2011 16:45

I know I'm better off not looking, but curiosity is getting the better of me...

scarletfingernail · 12/10/2011 17:23

I saw that thread too farfalla and many others like it. The thing that saddens me the most is that 9 times out of 10 it seems to be people wanting to have girls instead of boys. When and why did boys become so undesirable? Sad

I understand for some people that there might be some genuine deep rooted psychological or physical reason and I don't include people like that in my comment above. More often that not though it just seems to be people who want to go out and buy pink. Confused

DizzyKipper · 12/10/2011 17:46

I had a philli sandwich with marmite a while ago and am now feeling like I want to throw it up

DizzyKipper · 12/10/2011 17:53

Do headaches count as symptoms, I've had really bad ones the last 2 days. I've also been cramping.

Biscuitsandtea · 12/10/2011 17:57

Yes I think they really do Dizzy - I've had some cracking headaches since pg. Where are you in your cycle. I think cramping and nausea and headaches = pg. I wouldn't even bother with PIAR if I were you?

DizzyKipper · 12/10/2011 18:02

Grin I like your logic Biscuits, I guess really there is no need is there? I'm between 7-11dpo (7 according to fertility friend but that's based on erratic oral temps which I don't trust, I'd be 11 based on my own interpretation of CM).

Biscuitsandtea · 12/10/2011 18:05

Ah yes, of courser I remember your testing eagerness! But seriously, headaches are a bona fide symptom - not everyone gets them but you can get quite nasty ones while pg. I seem to get them every time it's a day I'm supposed to be cleaning ConfusedHmm

DizzyKipper · 12/10/2011 18:08

Why yes that would be me, and I'm not at all tempted to test first thing tomorrow morning

I think headaches are your body's way of saying you need to sit down, relax, and get your OH to do the cleaning Wink

Biscuitsandtea · 12/10/2011 18:20

Well, if you are testing tomorrow make sure it's just a cheapy one - save your expensive ones for when you're more dpo :)

DizzyKipper · 12/10/2011 18:25

Grin I only ever have cheapy tests - would definitely not test early were it an expensive one. Tests I have were 2 for £1 at Poundland.

DizzyKipper · 12/10/2011 18:29

OH said no Sad
