Phew finally caught up, although suspect I'll be behind again give it a few hours Wink

Good luck to all of you having your scans over the next few days.

dreamfeeder · 12/10/2011 12:57

lol at maybe's 'couldn't he have held his breath!!!' hope you're feeling better smegs

NinjaChipmunk · 12/10/2011 13:02

popcorn i totally understand not wanting to be outed, suffice to say i am suitably jealous of what I imagine your office looks like! I picture extreme knitting as being done whilst hanging upside down off a cliff or something.

scrambled glad to hear you are feeling better, and your dh should really man up.

TheLittleFriend · 12/10/2011 13:20

Get well soon scrambled

Ok, now I'm sure this question has been asked before, but for my reassurance, please tell me not all of you notice ewcm? Do you think it's a problem if I don't? Do you think I'm now imagining problems that aren't there? Do you think I am asking too many questions? Do you think I need to get a life and stop worrying?

OP posts:
CakePigeon · 12/10/2011 13:24

little I don't get ewcm I'm a bit Sad about it so I use gallons a bit of conceive plus in the hope that it will make up for it. I've no idea if it's a problem bit it is on my worry list!

Biscuitsandtea · 12/10/2011 13:25

Little I have never spotted EWCM, and have DS and this 16 week bean to show for it.

I have heard of others say they've never seen it either.

I never did get round to it, but I was considering Preseed or something similar in case it was an issue as I think the EWCM is supposed to help the little swimmers on their way, so I think maybe Preseed does the same thing? Any comments on the correctness or otherwise of that gratefully received!

Biscuitsandtea · 12/10/2011 13:25

And get well soon Scrambled xx

TheLittleFriend · 12/10/2011 13:28

I am using Preseed which makes me feel a bit better about it. My worry is that they need the ewcm to swim through once they actually get past the cervix and if i've not got any then.... oh god. I really am over thinking this.

OP posts:
Imps7 · 12/10/2011 13:30

Yes, what is it with OH's who use lame excuses such as "you're ill and likely to vomit on me if we SWI" as a reason to avoid shagging at the Crucial Time? They need to strap a pair on and just crack on with it, I say.

Sorry you're feeling poorly Scrambled - this is not on at all.

Maybe fingers crossed for no PCOS, as Scrambled says if you don't have any other symptoms it sounds as though the likelihood is low. And even if you do, it is definitely no bar whatsover on producing Babymaybe. Fingers crossed your surgury sorts out its new systems pronto and gets those results to you.

I am a firm supporter of taking temps fanjoly. My first chart (taken orally) was a disaster - all over the place. Since then they've been much neater which pleases me greatly as I love neatness. Here are my charts, for those who are interested. I actually deleted my first oral chart as I had a bit of a WTF 40 day cycle with that one and it was screwing up my stats.

I'm guessing that the Scanathon going on in the vomitorium is a result of the BFPathon we had, well 8 or so weeks ago I guess. Gosh, hasn't time flown by??? OH and I have been "officially" TTC for 8 months now, but upon reviewing my charts it appears as though we've only had, as Fertility Friend terms it, "well timed intercourse" (Grin) on 4 of those cycles given OH's work travels and the few little stressy issues that he had so in real terms we're only on cycle 5 I suppose.

Right, best get on with some work. It is seriously only Wednesday??

NinjaChipmunk · 12/10/2011 13:35

Yes imps sadly itis only wednesday. And I am frantically busy at work doing things I don't desperatly want to do today. One day when I am rich and don't have to worry abut things like wages and mortgages I shall spend my days doing printmaking and sewing and going on long lovely walks and such

Imps7 · 12/10/2011 13:36

Oh, re: EWCM - I think the same as Biscuits re: it's there to help the swimmers to their destination and to give them nourishment for the journey (a bit like sending them off with a packed lunch I guess) - Preseed is supposed to replicate that I think. I tend to have a fair bit of EWCM up to 5 days before OV but I may still crack open the Preseed in a couple of months if no success by then - it can't do any harm can it (unless I accidentally use it instead of toothpaste by accident I suppose. Or vice versa - which would be even worse

DizzyKipper · 12/10/2011 13:41

Agree with others Scrambled, tis really no excuse at all - and since when did men get a vote in when to have sex? They should want it every time all the time!

And Little I definitely think you've found a problem that isn't really there. Lots of women manage to get pregnant without having EWCM - I personally only just about spot it, so can't get much. Like Biscuits said there is preseed if it'll help reassure you - it provides an environment similar to CM to help the sperm move about and last longer.

Just had to phone up work and agree to working 7 days a week first week, 5 days a week the next - so once a fortnight get the weekend off. Sucks somewhat, but should hopefully help us financially. Besides which I only ever do housework on my days off and generally feel depressed, may as well make OH do more of his fair share and be at work more.

It just occurred to me that means I can legitimately ask OH to pick me up some chocolate on the way home - I think I deserve it now! With every dark cloud... Grin

possiblemaybebaby · 12/10/2011 13:41

Grin Grin at inappropriate minty freshness Imps

Unfortunately it is only Wednesday, but due to hospital appointment being in the middle of the day, I am taking the day off [sly emoticon]

Ninja that sounds like heaven. I would bake, and knit, and drink tea, walk dog (who is coming home the end of the month, whoop) and generally be the picture of domestic bliss Grin

Try not to worry about EWCM Little you will have that BFP before long

Hope you're still getting stronger Scrambled

DizzyKipper · 12/10/2011 13:42

Oh dear

Biscuitsandtea · 12/10/2011 13:45

Oh, and was it generic asked if my mw appt was today? It's tomorrow but I will certainly keep you posted :) xx

Where's scarlet

Solars · 12/10/2011 14:15

Afternoon ladies

Good luck to all of you with imminent scanathons, it must be so exciting to see the little bean and breathe a small sigh of relief as you pass this hurdle.

Little I wouldn't worry too much about EWCM as others have said you can still successfully conceive if there is none and what i've noticed for me is that I get a lot of it one month and then the next only a little. I am sure I have read somewhere that being hydrated helps of course and I vaguely remember reading Evening Primrose Oil could help, but don't quote me on that. I do think though that it isn't a problem as such, so hope you can stop worrying.

Scrambled hope you feel better soon and Shock at your DH for not wanting to SWI in your state, whatever happened to 'in sickness and in health'? He needs to be taking his marriage vows much more seriously [stern smiley]

Dizzy yes I loved learning Japanese just a shame I've probably forgotten most of it now, I was at uni a very, very long time ago!

Hope everyone else is ok.

Just to report that touch wood so far no symptoms on taking the clomid, hope this continues for the next few days :)

scarletfingernail · 12/10/2011 14:16

Hi all

Just popping in quickly to let you know I had a good 12 week scan.

Due date has been brought forward from April 26th to April 20th Confused but that's fine by me. So I'm 12+5 rather than 11+6.

I had the NT screening for Downs, the measurement was 1.2mm which I think is normal, so just got to wait for the blood test results combined with that measurement and then hopefully that's one other less thing to worry about.

The baby was very active (I'd just eaten a banana) and waved to us a few times, we also got a couple of good photos.

Time to tell RL people now at last Grin

Solars · 12/10/2011 14:18

Yay, how lovely Scarlet :)

TheLittleFriend · 12/10/2011 14:26

Great news scarlett

OP posts:
DizzyKipper · 12/10/2011 14:29

Glad the scan went well scarlet, also how exciting getting to tell people at last!

Also I would advise caution when taking evening primrose oil and trying to conceive. It is supposed to help increase CM levels, however there is a rumour going around on the web (and I don't know how accurate it is or not) that it can cause uterine contractions in pregnancy. I have also seen sources saying this is a load of rubbish and your uterus will do whatever it's going to when you're pregnant, so I don't know which is true. But if anyone does want to take it then they're probably better off looking into it themselves and deciding whether they want to take the risk or not. I was actually taking evening primrose oil when I first got pregnant, but no longer risk it after the MC as it was one more thing for me to worry about having caused.

DizzyKipper · 12/10/2011 14:31

Oh sorry just to make it clear, the last paragraph wasn't aimed at you scarlet, just saw some one mention it before so thought I'd chip in with my penny's worth.

jaggythistle · 12/10/2011 14:32

Yay scarlet Grin

scarletfingernail · 12/10/2011 14:36

I didn't think you meant me Dizzy, I've never taken evening primrose oil in my life. It's good to share info like that as we can all do our own research then.

Solars · 12/10/2011 14:43

Sorry, it was me who mentioned it Dizzy but only that I'd vaguely heard it in connection with EWCM. I've never used it myself, but you're right to point out your experience with it.

PopcornMouse · 12/10/2011 14:44

Little I get ridiculous, embarrassing amounts of EWCM Blush but I've heard loads of people say they don't spot it at all. And I'm on cycle 7 ttc so it's not really benefitted me tbh!

Imps you have such smart, orderly charts! How do you do that overlay thing? lol @ minty freshness :o

Omg Dizzy, seriously? That would kill me. Look after yourself, careful you don't overdo it :(

scarlet that sounds so cool!! Did you wave back? :o Is it too early to discover sex yet? has no clue
