And so it begins again.....

OP posts:
farfallarocks · 11/10/2011 15:39

Ah ha, I seeee! Well that would explain the lack of sticky bean then, no room!

maybe in a weird way I am hoping they find something wrong but something that is very fixable rather being told just bad luck try again.

Although I will be happy with any result that leads to a nice little baby in my arms :)

shinyblackgrape · 11/10/2011 15:42

Cake - Manchester and employment!

Biscuitsandtea · 11/10/2011 15:47

Undeground, overground, wombling free.....

I'm brooking for an answer that I easily fixable. But I guess even if there is nothing obvious pops out of the tests at least you've had a number of things ruled out, which is progress in itself.

I have a friend who had a m/c, then had her DS, then had two more m/c and got referred to the rmc clinic but got pg while waiting for the appt and that one stuck. And I think there are lots of things they can do to help a pg stick if they find a problem, so I'm very glad you're being taken care of by the right people. We WILL get you a baby!

I'm rambling - sorry if that isn't helpful stuff Blush xx

Solars · 11/10/2011 15:47

Grin at Farfalla's wombles filled womb. That sounds like quite a thorough investigation and I know what you mean about hoping they'll find something which could be fixed real easily. I'm brooking that all will be well and you will have that babe in your arms soon enough.

ScrambledSmegs · 11/10/2011 15:53

Yes to easily fixable! Am Brooking No Argument that all will easily and simply explained and farfalla will have her baby to snuggle v v soon.

It will be so .

Imps7 · 11/10/2011 16:15

Ooh Shiny another employment lawyer!

Do you hate your chosen career as much as I do? (If you're wondering how much I hate it in order to be able to answer that question, I hate it THIS MUCH )

Farfalla - wowzers, what a lot of tests. Am of course Brooking No Argument that either a) they find something very easy to treat; and/or b) they find a lovely little baby in your Wonderful Wombly Womb at your scan. The blood stuff sounds a little traumatic - although the satsuma aspect of it does sound intriguing, I have to say...

I'm in the Very Boring part of the cycle - CD 7. No possibility of being up the duff, no chance of ovulating any day soon, just time to sit it drumming my fingers until the SWI can commence. Given last month's SWI success, I have tentatively marked important SWI dates on the calendar in the kitchen and referred OH to them - he didn't seem to mind and I even saw a glint of excitement in his eye! Thank God I had The Chat with him last cycle otherwise I'd still be fretting about him fretting about stuff.

Maybe, I can definitely recommend temp taking - it has made me faaaar less obsessive about things, rather than more. I love knowing exactly where I'm up to in my cycle, even if my pesky temps did stay higher than usual at the end of the last cycle. Just search for "fanjometer" * on Amazon and you will find what you need.

Right, catch up more later!

  • I am making this up - the best search terms is Basal Body Thermometer but wouldn't it be great if they were actually called Fanjometers??
DizzyKipper · 11/10/2011 16:29

Just quickly popping in to say thankyou for my birthday wishes everybody! Grin Bit of a work filled day today but I will be absolutely making the most of tomorrow on my day off, may even have a lie in (which means I'll be here by 7.30 Wink)

And also very exciting about hearing the heartbeat this Thursday Biscuits.

Think I'm the next to test, aiming for Sunday, Friday at the very earliest but I'll try not to be naughty.

Back tomorrow for a proper catchup Smile

CakePigeon · 11/10/2011 16:39

Friday please dizzy Grin

mine is a bit niche so I'm trying to keep it to myself as I'm paranoid about colleagues finding out I'm ttc Blush

maybe I can't better imps's description of bbts. I think it can be any as long as it reads to 2 decimal places

DizzyKipper · 11/10/2011 16:43

Woohooooooooo some one thinks Friday Grin

musicalmrs · 11/10/2011 16:46

Happy birthday Dizzy!

Mad day today - then I check MN on my phone on the way home and I've missed so much! Where to start... not impressed that we didn't all choose to skip Tuesday by the way. ;)

maybe - Hurrah! Glad to see you back :) Hope you're doing ok despite the spotting - and brooking no argument for good results! Also, in terms of thermometers, I'm afraid to say I did it the lazy way - used a very basic thermometer that only did 1DP (I know it should be two), but it did the trick for me! I already had it, and wanted to start temping during a very frugal month (us music teachers don't get paid in August!). Needless to say, I was about to invest in a 2dp one..

Scream - I don't work in the city (not much need for musicians there?) but I do work in London (mainly East at the moment). Need to start working nearer where I live though - i.e. Essex - we used to live in London, but moved out when our landlady tried to raise the rent by 40%!

Hope the gynae appointment goes well Generic! I've found the gynae teams to know everything and anything, and more than anyone else... but maybe I've just had brilliant gynae people (and rubbish other people!).

farfalla - eek, 9 vials?! I complained last time when they took 6 from me! Poor DH. Mine struggled when we were in A&E last, with them putting a canular in - almost fainted. I'm supposed to be the one bad with needles, not him! Needless to say it gave me a good (evil!) laugh at his expense, which was very much needed!

Popcorn, jealous of your crafty-ness! I love craft, but have so little time for it at the moment. Have you seen Extreme Knitting? My mum's taken it up - produces amazing materials - have been meaning to do some myself, but need to get my hand on suitably chunky needles first!

shiny, I'm liking the huge bar of chocolate. I think I'm in need of one myself. Couldn't eat much this morning (felt nauseous the entire time), then have been starving all afternoon. Clearly in need of chocolate to boost my blood sugar levels!

Biscuits, I had many a similar conversation with my DH ;) Mainly the "But it's been TWO DAYS, and we're supposed to SWI EVERY OTHER DAY to stick to our plan for this month, so man up!".

Phew - need a lie down after all of that. And some chocolate..

dreamfeeder · 11/10/2011 17:45

maybe, imagine how bad I feel about my lacksadaisical early attitude and multiple forgetting-of-folic-acid when I realsied it was twins who need at least that.... DH is on the job now, checks I have it with tea if i can manage tea

Had 2 highly embarrassing pull over on country road to wretch into the gutter incidents today. Done nothign but puke and I'm hungry too musical.. Eating celebrations a friend brought for me after my scan (a godsend!). Healthy things juts dont appeal, plus I ate an apple before, then threw it up an hour later and can confirm that half digested apple is a most unpleasant puke experience. Put me off the healthy stuff!!!

imps, now i get the 30 units of booze a week, my friend is an employment lawyer in manchester and apparently tis both compulosry and necessary.

NinjaChipmunk · 11/10/2011 17:56

blimey how much have you lot chatted?? Its taken me ages to read all that!

maybe lovely to see you again my lovey, glad to have you back. I really hope your GP can pinpoint if there is a problem. Spotting for that long is not nice.

farfalla snort at the emergency satsuma. Nice work there! Thats a lot of blood from you though. You need something like a hot chocolate with marshmallows to help rejiggify your blood levels. Good luck for your results. I'm ancient so go the wombles reference straight away. At least they'd keep it clean and tidy down there!

Happy birthday dizzy enjoy your days off and spoil yourself. You must be soo looking forward to hearing your little crumb on thursday.

popcorn I am very curious as to what magazine you work for, that must be very nice. Do you all have a very crafty time in your office? My current project is to turn a dress I never wear but love the material of into a skirt I shall wear all the time.

biscuits talking bobbins is now my new favourite phrase.
generic how was your appointment? Anything new to report?

Have I covered everything? Probably not. Right think i'll go make some food for me and ds, I bet when I check back there'll be posts the length of a novel and it'll take all night to catch up!

shinyblackgrape · 11/10/2011 18:17

I'm literally running home as have got ewc. All confused as this is day 10 of cycle and opk said not to test until tomorrow

Anyway, will test when I get home. Sent DH a text to let him know the good news and he has come over all like a Victorian maiden aunt. I really can't believe this as I'm usually fighting him off (I'm not super gorge by the way, he just doesn't gave very many other hobbies Grin).

How annoying. I think I'll try the shower trick.

imp - I'll come back separately re the jon. Normally I quite like it but had run in with slightly nobby partner from corporate today. Im sure you know the type

jaggythistle · 11/10/2011 18:27

Hello All :)

I lost you for a while but thought I would come over and have a nosey on you nice new thread.

Hope all the shagathons are going well.

Nowt much to report from me, first scan on Friday and i am bloody impatient!

Maybe you ladies can inspire me to do some baking, apart from DS's birthday cake, I haven't baked a thing since being upduffed. I think I might be getting some energy back now so might stay awake long enough for some rock buns or something....

shiny the looking after a tiny person thing is kind of daunting, but I got used to it surprisingly quickly. I hadn't looked after a baby ever really either. I quickly got the hang of getting weed and pooed on nappy changes and quite liked having a small person attached to me and just putting my feet up after the first tricky couple of weeks.

I am quite looking forward to doing it again. I think....

jaggythistle · 11/10/2011 18:28

(ok it's not that new but it doesn't take long for brooking ladies to fill pages!)

jaggythistle · 11/10/2011 18:29

(can you tell I was reading page 1 when I tryped that by the way.)

can i blame being pg?

jaggythistle · 11/10/2011 18:29

typed even.

NinjaChipmunk · 11/10/2011 19:15

I could be wrong jaggy but I believe the female brain is actually supposed to shrink slightly when pregnancy happens? In which case, you can blame most things on it.

jaggythistle · 11/10/2011 19:17
Grin
scarletfingernail · 11/10/2011 19:20

WOAH how much have you lot been gassing today?

Maybe you're back! So pleased to read you're back to brooking no argument and that you have a lovely GP. I hope things aren't too stressful at work and you're keeping your grumpy boss in check.

farfalla I've everything crossed that you're results all come back normal, but if there is something it's something that's easily treated.

shiny See a rat? Get it smacked.

12 week scan for me tomorrow, I will not sleep tonight.

TheLittleFriend · 11/10/2011 19:24

shiny some people get ewcm four days before they ovulate, so you could still ovulate on day 14 ish. But it's good, because you will have lots of fertile days to swi before!

OP posts:
Biscuitsandtea · 11/10/2011 19:38

Good luck tomorrow Scarlet :)

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 11/10/2011 19:50

Ooo, I work for a law firm in the City (I'm not a lawyer btw) - funny to think you other City girls are out there, ttc-ing away!
Imps, in my firm the employment lawyers are the more relaxed and easier-going than the others. And by 'others' I mean corporate!
At the moment, everyone in my team is speculating about someone in the team being preggers, no-one suspects me yet tho! Grin

I still haven't gone to see the GP yet - I did email my lovely obs & gynae doctor though and she says if I go to the EPU in the next week or so she'll sort out a 'reassurance scan' for me. Just have to gear myself up for that one...

Good luck to everyone in the SWI zone, or coming up to it, and also to those of you having scans & tests etc. Smile

dreamfeeder · 11/10/2011 20:23

Oh, shiny, happy shagathon!!!

GenericDietCola · 11/10/2011 20:39

Wow! Well I'm away from t'internet for a few hours and you fill 4 pages!

Maybe I didn't really take in the fact that you are spotting when I read your post - I hope the dr can sort you out. I am Brooking No Argument along with the rest of the rat smackers. Didn't you suspect PCOS a while ago? So having that test will hopefully rule it out. If not, I'm sure whatever you have will be treatable and you will get your baby next year.

Shiny yay re the EWCM - I think I spotted some today (day 11) so we are sort of in sync. I suspect I'll ov in the next few days so am SWI just in case.

Farfalla let's hope you have that ironic little accident (my DD was an 'accident' conceived using the withdrawal/avoid fertile times method, although of course I wasn't being too careful about all of that!) I chortled at the wombly thing (but I am also vair old).

The gynae appointment went well and I have been discharged. The dr reckons I have a slightly higher chance of mc and of adherent placenta (which I had with DD), but she seemed positive about my chances of conceiving and having a baby. If nothing has happened in a year, I should go to the GP, but of course we all know I will have a baby by then and if not I will be going to the GP in 6 months, not a year
