Had a
couple of days with my poorly girl, she hadn't been sleeping well, was off her food (unheard of) and very grizzly and clingy, which i put down to this cough, and perhaps teething her last molars, she certainly wasn't her usual happy little self, she's never been that bad before, but thought she turned a corner on Sunday cos her appetite came back... However nearly midnight she woke up hysterical and screaming and itching her wrists and tummy, which was bright red, when she started at her neck, i just panicked and said to Dh i was considering a trip to A&E and he agreed so we grabbed some stuff together, flung on clothes and DH drove while i held her in the back, but within a few mins of driving she calmed down and started chatting and ooohing out the window! We pulled up outside the hospital and the rashes had gone and she was smiley and happy so we drove home again, but OMG i bricked it, it was awful, never had that kind of worry with her before luckily... She was wide awake til about 3 and up at 7am so i had 3hrs sleep, but she was covered in a rash again, mainly on her legs and feet, so called the docs immediately for an apt, but within half an hour it was gone again! Docs gave her a full check up and after initially thinking tonsilitus, agreed as i have a cough too its a virus, phew, she was really good being checked but didn't like him looking in her mouth and as she got grizzly the rash came up again in front of him thankfully, so he could determine there and then its very common to get a rash with a virus, double phew! I'm sure all you mums of 2+ are nodding your heads knowingly, but panicky first time mummy here was in a bit of a palava!
