It's a girl!!!! Or so my baking soda test says, blue I was convinced it would be boy pee too. I weed in the pot, put the pot in the bath (I was expecting a volcano of fizz) added the soda and stepped back, then nothing just a few bubbles! Most disappointed Grin

MummysLittleSunbeams · 02/11/2011 09:39

You women are mad ! Grin

Neeko wouldn't blowing like that simply blow air down into the lungs?

cupcakefairy · 02/11/2011 09:44

So only barbie has boy pee?? We need louey to try it Grin
I might try with Baking powder later...I used Bicarb of Soda the other day...what's the difference?? HmmHmm

Right ds is stood here eating shreddies straight from the box so prob time I got him dressed Blush

MummysLittleSunbeams · 02/11/2011 09:52

Cupcake I think they are the same thing. We need to get Curly to try it too.

barbie1 · 02/11/2011 10:23

Rushes in to say that if you are not up duffed it will always say girls pee.... Unless you are preggers with a girl of course!

I have stomach flu passed on from. Dolly....it sucks big time! Been to the hospital to make sure I don't need an I v drip, thankfully I don't and the worst has past.

X

loueytb3 · 02/11/2011 10:35

poor barbie hope you feel better really soon.

I'm not sure I have any baking soda after the weevil invasion, I chucked everything out. Will have to check cupboards. Could always get some delivered in my order tomorrow (purely for research purposes of course Wink)

BuddhaBelly · 02/11/2011 11:00

Thankfully it's been quiet in here as I've not been on for a short while makes it so much easier to catch up Smile
Mls Good news that Kitty doesn't have to see a consultant for another 3 months! And she's now walking - well done Smile
Barbie Sorry to hear that dolly has been poorly Sad and has now kindly shared the bug with you Sad Look after yourself my lovely and take it easy (well as easy as dolly will let you Wink) How are her hands now? Oh and thank you I will look forward to your 2ww obsessing with me Wink
Curly Sorry I missed your sad anniversary Sad but sending thoughts your way today instead
louey Hope you now have some food in the house Grin
Vjay Grin at Ajay and the lego, glad it came out relatively easily, we're having problems with E and his ears at the moment, he keeps putting anything and everything in them, tissue, bread/various food bits, pencils, playdoh and at a Halloween party Saturday at a friends he found a rawplug and stuck that right in! Typically it's the ear that's constantly leaking at the moment so having to clean it every day anyway which is drawing his attention to it!
Neeko Good luck with the cake baking

Well still concerned about Af especially as I had another odd one this month Hmm but bought OPK's yesterday and thinking of getting some pre-seed too, if I get another weird AF at the end of the month will go to GP to get blood levels checked etc and try not to turn into an obsessive knicker checking anally retentive ttc-er!

stop with the pee - I'm in the offfice asnd struggling to stop sniggering!!

SoClose · 02/11/2011 16:05

Hi!

Sorry haven't caught up yet, do see a lot about the baking soda yest, will try it as due today, so hopefully shouldn't have too long to wait and see if it is right, will have a go later and let you know!

Hope you are all ok, keep meaning to get on and well you know the rest....

x

SoClose · 02/11/2011 16:06

Sorry, forgot to say, had a due date name change! Smile

VJay · 02/11/2011 17:09

Hi soclose like the namechange, it's so exciting, have you felt any twinges yet?

OP posts:
loueytb3 · 02/11/2011 20:08

Mega update alert...

SoClose ? Ooooh happy due date - I?m so pleased that you are so close Smile. Hope you are managing to get some rest amongst all the chaos and you haven?t got to wait too long. Is your DS excited about his impending sibling? You should definitely do the baking soda test though, you can be our first person to test whether it works Grin

Buddha is E?s sleep still improved?? Sorry you are having weird cycles ? were you on the pill before you decided to TTC again cos it can take a couple of months sometimes before your cycle returns to normal. We have food but I?m trying to resist (on a bit of a health kick after holiday).

Barbie are you feeling any better? Did you have your check up today??

LBM ha ha!!! I?m glad we have provided some amusement for you at work. Sounded like you had your usual mad half term!! You must have been exhausted by the end of it. Really hope BB?s sleeping improves soon, that must be hell combined with working.

monkey belated Happy Birthday from me. Hope everything is ok. I?ve been wondering how you are getting on x

vjay eek at Ajay stuffing lego where it should not go. And thanks neeko for posting that top tip should we ever need it. I think we are much more at risk of Oscar doing something like that simply because he will have his big brothers toys to insert into all sorts of places. We are just about to start the lego phase I fear. When is your Drs appt??

neeko what are you having decorated now?? We are still in upheaval at home because Luke?s new room has been decorated (and has nothing in it) but he can?t move in until the bed arrives and it might be a couple of weeks yet. So there are bits everywhere.

mls that?s fab news that the consultant is happy with Kitty. Bloody rubbish that its taken that long to find that out though. Are you going to find out the sex of DC3 (via the official route I mean ? not the baking soda route Grin) I did have the combined test, but I am the sort of person who would rather know if there was a serious problem. Of course, it doesn?t rule everything out, as you know and we have Isaac with his problems which would never have shown up on any prenatal test. It is a tough decision either way.

cupcake Grin at your DS eating shreddies whilst you chat about wee tests. Have you told everyone your good news yet?

4ever blooming colds. Everyone has one, hope yours has got better now. Sounds like your appointment gave you much to think about. I?m not sure what the difference is between the immunotherapy and the immunoglobulin treatment. I know that there is some controversy about the IVIG treatment, but then I have a friend who had her DD1 after having the IVIG treatment. She had had 5 mcs before then. My little sister has had some immuno treatment at ARGC but I?m not entirely sure what it was. You will never know whether your last mc had nothing to do with the treatment but was just one that would never have got to 12 weeks anyway. I feel for you, but you will have another DC, I am sure of it.

curly hope you are ok, I?m sure hormones have not helped having a difficult anniversary to get through.

blue are you on an ebaying mission??? I am trying to sell 2 buggies at the moment but through gumtree/netmums cos they are not going for that much on ebay. I might have to resort to ebay if they don?t sell though. I can?t get in our garage for buggies!

mrskate did AF arrive in the end or have you got news for us??

gracie how are you doing now? Has the ms eased up finally?

Thinking as always of moon, strawbs, jools and our other missing Emmys?s. Will post with my news when I can but I have to finish off a food order first Wink

barbie1 · 03/11/2011 04:11

Louey, baking soda + news to share...come on, you are having a number 4 aren't you????? Grin

So close, so excited for you! Make sure you update ASAP!

Feeling more human today, tis was horrid having the stomach flu. Was worried about the baby after all the sickness but he gave the doctor a big kick as she tried to listen to him yesterday. Im measuring small again, so have been sent a request for a growth scan on the 29th nov. they should be able to check out the band thing again then too. Not too long to wait.

Hopefully back for more personals later x

VJayazzle · 03/11/2011 08:42

louey what news, you can't run away like that Grin. My next doc appt is on Wednesday, we've also got cjays IEP that day and parents evening, luckily dh is off!

barbie glad the flu has settled down now you need some you time, try and relax Smile

loueytb3 · 03/11/2011 08:46

Sorry to disappoint you but I'm not having number 4!!!! Just meant holiday update/this weeks dramas. Have to go out this morning but Oscar permitting will try and post this afternoon.

4everhopeful · 03/11/2011 10:24

Hi all!! Sorry to be MIA but I've still been lurking!

Louey I thought you had news too for a second! Glad you had a lovely holiday, good luck with the decorating, bet I is really excited to hve his own room though? Interesting to hear you know of someone who had immunoglobin, and after 5 MC too.. most people have never heard of either and faces go blank when its mentioned!

Barbie had been thinking of you (knew 24wks was around now as I would of been too, on fireworks night Sad) however hopefully it means you can breath a sigh of relief to be at the crucial 'viable' milestone now? Things sound good about the band though, and as for size issues, you obviously just breed 'em dinky! Smile How is Dollys eczema? I dont want to jinx myself, but Summers has cleared right up, she had awful patches on the back of her wrists from 6m til recently, we tried everything, but the best thing was using paraffin when she slept..

Curly for your anniversary sweetie.. You have gone all quiet after sharing your news?! Hope you're doing ok and not weebling too bad...

MLS good stuff about Kittys scan results, and yay for walking Smile, but not so yay for standing on stools! Shock With you on the combined test, not that I'd ever do anything about it obviously, but did have one baby with Edwards so dont think I could not know now...

Neeko loving the christmas preperations! Throwing myself in wholeheartedly but not quite up to cake baking yet! Blush In fact, we are hosting, and cooking, our first ever christmas dinner this year, for our parents! Really excited about it, last year was all a bit of a kerfuffle getting out so will be nice to stay at home, since my dad died we have all gone to DH mum and dads, luckily our mums get on really well, but will be nice to look after them for a change.. Smile Hows your prezzie buying going? Gotta love ELC and sainsburys half price sales, ours is nearly done! Grin Just now gotta try and get Summer still for long enough to do photos for the christmas cards and mugs for nannys!

Cupcake ooh the whole baking soda pee test thing has had me cracking up! Have you told everyone now? Do you think J understands yet? Summer likes eatin cereal from the box too! Grin

Vjajazzle loving the new name Grin you do make me laugh! Thought you'd have boy pee too! Shock at the lego drama! Fingers x'd all goes well at the docs.. Hows the tummy pains and poss gallstones? Maybe it could all just be related to the endo? Poor you, really feel for you...

Blue did you dress your boys up for Halloween? We dressed Summer up as a liitle witch, hat and all, she looked sooooo cute! Will have to post a pic.. We took her out trick or treating, only to nannys and a few friends, but much fun was had by all, specially at one friends who decorated her whole house, and had a Halloween party, DH very much enjoyed the apple bobbing! Hmm Grin

LBM have visions of you chuckling away at your desk at all the pee talk! Hope you enjoyed your hols too!

Soclose soexciting! Feels you've been pregnant for an eternity! Will be lurking for news!

Buddha sorry AF came, we are cycle buddies, to the day! Mine went up to 36 days at one stage, but since the MC have gone back to clockwork 28day cycles, hope youre settle down soon, or even better, just disappear for the next 9m! Wink Hope E is doing better now?

Monkey been thinking of you lots too, belated birthday greetings...

Also missing strawberry lots.. Sad Waves and babydust to moon and jools in the either...

As for me, just keeping myself very busy and healthily distracted as have decided one thing for definite is that when Im pregnant again, as I lose them around wk 9, from wk 7-10, Im doing as little as possible and remaining stress free (as I did with Summer), last pregnancy, we had BBQs, MIL 60th and Nans BD within that one week, not to blame of course, but stressful busy times, obviously bedrest is an impossibility with Summer, but it kind of makes sense that if thats my 'danger' period, then just take it easy! That means Im very happy to get christmas out the way and wait til new year.. Cant believe that will nearly be my due date, but feel a nice long break for my body to recover is also good, the longest time between pregnancies previously was also 9m, before I fell with Summer, so again, taking some inspiration from that. I also remembererd we actually had a covenant of nuns praying for us with Summer! The Poor St Clares in Wales, who's patron saint is St Collette, the patron of parents and babies! Who knows eh?? However have also thought, that despite the warnings from or lovely consultant, if the Portland can actually do it, we'd probably give the immunotherapy another last shot, as really believed in it with Summer, but only if we can do it very very early as we did with Summer. So thats where Im at basically!

None of thats been a particuarly brow beating process, just gradual thoughts and decisions that we have come to over the last few weeks, nice and healthy.. (emotionally so to speak!) Have been enjoying life generally, v excited about christmas and enjoying getting out at the weekends and having fun with our gorgeous girl, she is such a character and a ball of energy, I really should be 3 stone lighter the amount of running round I do after her!

Anyway, redeemed myself with this mammoth post I feel! Actually sat at PC rather than on phone, hence the length! Gonna get on and order Summer a personalised Santa letter and book now!

Love and hugs to all x x x x x x

littlebellsmum · 03/11/2011 10:46

Will update soon - but whilst we are getting all festive - has anyone seen the elf on the shelf from Mumsnet Swears by - it is hysterical and I am so tempeted. Check out this thread
www.mumsnet.com/nllink/806/22016/22707996

Wiil update later - asuming I'm not asleep. Was doing some computer stuff untill 1am, then DD2 was up in her cot so slept with her on her sofa untill 2am. Put her in our bed with us. DS woke at 5ish after a bad dream and so in he came, which woke DD2 and she ended up being put back in her cot to scream untill DH got her , her milk . Not the best night on record - DD1 got an extra big hug for being the only one who stayed in her own bed Grin
Its a good job dd2 is soooooo cute

cupcakefairy · 03/11/2011 13:48

Haha lbm, the cuteness definitely does help when they're being PITAs!! This week is the first time I've been properly embarrassed by ds :( we've been moved up at swimming to the 18mth-3yrs class & was our first one on Tues and ds just screamed and whinged the whole way through :(
We've been going to swimming since he was 5 months & he's always been good as gold but since being able to walk and become way more willfull he just wants to get away from me and go play on the baby slides etc. I tried going early this week so he had a good play on it but then just screamed when I took him away and didn't stop for 25mins (I left during the last 5 mins cos it was reaching fever pitch!) wondering now whether to carry on going. Meh. Sorry to waffle on...but don't suppose anyone has any advice?? I just felt rubbish that the other older kids were being so good and doing what the teacher said & mine was just being awful. So so out of character for him too he is so good natured, just very strong-willed!!

Anyway...

4ever sounds like your mind is v clear now well done for thinking through all that stuff! Sounds like Feb is the time for you then!! Grin Can't believe how organised you lot all are for Christmas we've bought nothing Confused have looked at a few things for ds but can't decide what to get.
No J def doesn't understand about the baby, he can just about manage 'where's your head?' don't think he'd get 'mummy has a baby in her tummy' Grin although he does keep poking my tummy Hmm

Neeko or MLS don't suppose you could give me any tips on what 3.5 year old girls love?? Need to get a gift for my goddaughter and sadly don't know her well at all as we don't see her much...I know she loves dressing up but we gave her a tinkerbell outfit for her bday...I was thinking maybe something creative??

SoClose you're officially overdue! Booooo (unless something happened overnight!!) So excited for you!

louey we haven't told many people actually! No big announcements or anything...I quite fancy going down the lbm route and keeping it stealth til I have a big bump Grin have told my nct friends though, they're v excited :) 2 of the others are expecting number 2 aswell.

Right, I need food! Hope all are well xxx

cupcakefairy · 03/11/2011 13:49

Forgot to say barbie glad you're on the mend :) and lovely to be at the 24 week milestone as 4ever says :)

loueytb3 · 03/11/2011 14:52

4ever that sounds like a good plan, then you can relax over xmas and not have to worry about being possibly pg and coping with all your relatives (as lovely as they are).

LBM have read a little of the elf on the shelf thread and it looks like a fab idea. I'm sure I can sell that one to DH. I think there's more to it than just buying the elf though, need to read more before I jump in and get one Wink. Poor you on the sleep front. I've been up since 4am but that isn't as bad as your night!

VJayazzle I can't keep up with your name changes!! Sounds like next Wednesday will be "fun" all round then. Glad you've got DH to support you. We're due a IEP meeting soon and Isaac has parents evening next week, although they still haven't confirmed what time.

barbie yay for feeling better. LOVE the pics of Dolly in the fridge Grin. She is a little monkey that one Smile

Right, so holiday was ok. Good days and bad days. Not a lot of sleep had, I think we had one night where all the boys slept through. Oscar came down with a nasty cold/cough in the middle of the week which meant he kept projectile puking up his feeds as soon as he coughed. We didn't venture too far from the villa for a few days and the other two were going a bit stir crazy. Isaac got unsettled a couple of days before we came back and was going a bit mad, waking up at all hours and generally causing havoc. It was nice to get some sun and spend some time with DH and the boys loved the pool. It was an improvement on last year when we spent most of the holiday chasing Isaac around the beach as he tried to run off. This time he was really good and stayed close to us so that made things easier. I didn't come back with a bfp this time Grin. Oscar is making me v broody though, its a good job I am trying to sell stuff already otherwise I could almost be tempted. Little sister's baby will have to soak up my broodyness I think.

We've had a bit of a rough week since we've been back. Isaac has been really upset by another girl in his taxi who is quite loud and he has been screaming and crying and not wanting to get in there. I ended up taking him to school on Tuesday because he just wouldn't get in the taxi. Unfortunately, having not planned to take him, I hadn't fed Oscar. Had a horrific journey, 6 miles each way took 2.5 hrs and Oscar was going mad in the car. He has gone in the taxi the last 2 days but we have to physically manhandle him in and he is crying and looks distraught. I have been in tears most mornings after he's gone. I hope it will improve soon.

Must go, Oscar crying. Back later.

littlebellsmum · 03/11/2011 15:31

Oh and while I remember, I forgot to give neeko the list of Christmas crafts to do with dd's - we don't do cards as I always do a photo of the kids but we do gift tags, wrapping paper and lots of other things! Gift tags - buy some brown paper gift tags from ebay, then using a potato print put stars etc on them. You can also use glue and glitter. I normally put them into a plastic takeaway box to limit the mess.
Using same potato prints and loads of brown paper make wrapping paper - basically attach it to the table and you and dd's put stamps all over it in different christmassy colours and shapes ( tip for the prints - use a cutter to mark out the shape on the potato and then just cut round it with a sharp knife. Works well with metal cutters and is much better than my rubbish free hand!)
Decorate empty jam jars and then fill them with biscuits - great for relatives presents and elderly neighbours.

likewise decorate any nice empty boxes and fiill with home made chocolate or fudge - the chocolate bark is sooo easy and v yummy. basically melt some chocolate, spread onto greaseproof paper and then chuck a load of yummy stuff on the top before it sets. I normally do dark choc with ginger, pecans and raisins and white chocolate with almonds and apricots.

Last year we got into making salt dough decorations -these were great and we did them with anyone who came round - do a google search for these. I like the idea of the kids making one every year and keeping it with the date on it.

And that should keep you and the girls out of mischief for the foreseeable future!!

VJayazzle · 03/11/2011 16:18

cupcake I'm having a hard time with Ajay at the moment, he's started smacking himself in the face really hard then screaming so loud! At home I ignore him but it's different and difficult when I'm out and about. They're just frustrated I think. It's a phase it will pass.

Gotta dash Ajay is being a monkey

loueytb3 · 03/11/2011 17:09

Argh, lost post

cupcake its just a phase (and repeat). TBH I would stick with the swimming. Is he too young to understand that you would get out if he carried on his tantrum?

vjay you have my sympathies too...

LBM not for the first time I am glad I don't have girls. Glitter is the devils spawn. Although neeks will be kept very busy with all those ideas Wink

Trying to start on xmas shopping as it is creeping up on me. I went shopping this morning and bought a few things for Oscar's stocking (including a sophie le giraffe as recommended on here). And oops I managed to come home with a new coat Blush. Not sure how that happened. In my defence, it was reduced from £169 to £95, so really it was a steal. At least that is what I'm going to tell DH when he explodes swans home from Paris tomorrow Grin

loueytb3 · 03/11/2011 17:13

Harry Potter fans - have you seen this £25 a bargain I think!
