p.s. i know it is really hard to resist the temptation to test early but i did a few months ago, got a positive and then got my period 4 days later.... more disappointing than just getting your period really. And apparently very common.

Mama 5, loulou, festie are you ladies still around??

Deafworm · 28/10/2011 07:57

Sorry to hear she got you berries, come join us up the back in the comfy seats! I'm very relieved dh is off shift at the important time this month, when he is on shift there just aren't the opportunities to swi, very kind of them to rota him inline with ov! Trying so hard not to get my hopes up, that this is our month feeling is creeping in and i really don't want that sinking feeling if it then isn't, feeling all bah humbug about it today but for some reason I haven't been sleeping which has definitely got me feeling irrationally, insomnia usually hits when I'm pg but I had af last night so I'm not but I'm still thinking what if..... [hhmm]

Deafworm · 28/10/2011 07:57

Last month sorry

puzzletree · 28/10/2011 08:08

Morning all. I think I just might have a very very very faint positive this morning :), but will be patient and try again for a few more mornings before getting too excited. It's on an internet cheapy test and I have a few more of them to use up. DP isn't up yet so you're the first to know! Anyone else testing this morning?

Deafworm · 28/10/2011 08:12

Ooh puzzletree fingers crossed for some lovely dark lines in the next few days

GTR2882 · 28/10/2011 08:28

Oooooh puzzle fx'd for you!! A line is a line though

Well it looks like all the umming and arrring can finally stop, just went to undertake my morning CP/CM check, CP low, firm and open (we all know what that means!) and at first my CM was a bit scant, so i delved in for another check and retrieved a big clump of darkish brown CM (am not going to even apologise for the TMI!) so looks like the wicked witch is going to make an appearance very soon!! Am relieved but naturally disappointed at the same time, CD77 and my body looks like it has finally come to a decision

Strange though as i have no idea when i would have ov'd, especially considering that i thought i was due to ov over the next couple of days with an expected AF arrival date of 7th November. Maybe my body is just getting back into the swing of things after coming off the pill (although after 15 months you think it would get a wriggle on).

Anyway will keep you all updated on whether she comes full flow

MrsSharp · 28/10/2011 09:41

Ooh exciting Puzzle!! Is your AF due today? Fingers crossed for you!

My AF is due tomorrow, I think - so will be testing then. Am really pleased I've managed to fight off the temptation to test so far, it is so tough when they're staring at you...

MrsSharp · 28/10/2011 09:43

GTR - I really hope that your womb does indeed behave now! I'm sorry that you think AF is on it's way, I had hopes for you still - but am sure you just want to draw a line under this crazily long cycle and move on!

BustAMove · 28/10/2011 09:44

Hi. That does look hopefull puzzle, but I know what you mean about not getting too excited. I too took a cheapie internet test this morn. BFN. Was kind of expecting it due to FR being BFN only 2 days ago. Period due sun, so I do feel it's a true result, plus have been getting AF type pain. Just want her to arrive now so I can get on with next month.

BustAMove · 28/10/2011 09:47

Good for you for resisting MrsSharp, I have zero self control. Practically ripped my pack of internet cheapies off the postman this morning. Was a bit like waiting for exam results!

iloveberries · 28/10/2011 11:12

puzzle that sounds promising. i don't do the testing thing since my early mc/chemical/whatever you want to call it!! so i don't know about the internet cheapie tests or anything but GTR is right - a line is a line. I will look forward to hearing of the line getting darker :)

deafworm your post about being too young to want kids reminded me of when my sister got engaged (at 19)..... her and her now hubbie went to choose the rings and no-one would serve them as didn't believe they really had the money to spend. Sad isn't it.... I didn't marry till 28 but still believe that first loves can last!

GTR your posts do amuse me!! i think you are the most dedicated TTCer i have ever met! You realy do check everything don't you!!

GTR2882 · 28/10/2011 11:17

Thanks berries i have to track as much as i can because of the length of my cycles, not that it's working [hblush] clearly I am dedicated, but not very good at it [hgrin] on the plus, at least i can stop agonising now and look forward to a fresh start next cycle!! it has just confused me because i was not expecting to see anything like that - was hoping for EWCM - but to be honest, any CM that isn't bloody creamy at the moment is a relief!!! Hoping that next month might be a nice normal 29 day cycle!!!

Liliana1 · 28/10/2011 12:16

Oh, fx puzzletree, def sounds promising and yes a line is a line is a line!!!

Berries sadly it is really common, I had the same and after alot some time spent googling everything there is to know about pg they think that it could be as many as 2/3 of pg are chem but most people don't even know it happened.

GTR I'm impressed with the dedication, I did temping and checking cm in pants and after wiping but never got to grips with cp - couldn't tell if it was high / low / open / closed Confused

GTR2882 · 28/10/2011 12:24

Liliana I think I wrote a post somewhere on here about what to look for in the CP, if you are interested in knowing I don't mind sharing again.......although can totally understand if you are not that bothered, it is an added stress and is only really helpful for ov if you are not lucky enough to get the fertile CM (which I am not!!)

Ilanthe · 28/10/2011 15:01

Afternoon all. GTR glad to see your body is doing something at last. I'm frustrated and impatient on CD22 - I would be completely psycho by CD77!

puzzletree hope your line gets darker! I had a faint line which only appeared after an hour or so with DS - thought it was an evap line but tested again the following day and it was really strong.

I have some symptoms to report. My boobs are agony. I mean really, really achy and tender. Problem is, they often get painful before my period so it doesn't tell me anything. No spotting yet though, which is a good sign.

BustAMove · 28/10/2011 16:25

afternoon everybody. Just been quietly thinking to myself, and have got a bit confused. How many days after ovulation might implantation take place? and can you get a BFP if you ovulated, and the egg has been fertilised, but has not implanted? so when people say, you should be able to test 13 or so days after ovulation, what if implantation only occured, say 6 days after ovulation? Not sure if that's even possible, but have managed to mightly confuse myself. Thanks if anyone knows!

BoogiesBunny · 28/10/2011 17:34

Hey Bust - if I understand what you mean this is what I think I know: implantation happens at least 5 days after ovulation. Between ovulation and implantation your body doesn't know you have conceived as the fertilised egg is just floating to your uterus. Once it's implanted your body starts producing hcg which is what a test will pick up on. But a test will only find it if there is enough in your system so it's unlikely to happen immediately the egg implants. As you don't know when an egg implanted (unless your lucky!) it's all guess work until you miss a period or get a BFP.

BustAMove · 28/10/2011 17:57

thanks boogies. think I am overthinking all this! whoever knew it was so complicated. think I'll forget about this all next month and just get pissed.

iloveberries · 28/10/2011 19:29

hey ladies, i think i might be able to help on this one after a chat with GP (who's a good friend) the other day....

busta He says you can get a BFP (albeit not that F!) if the egg is fertilised but not implanted. That's why some women who test very early will get a positive, then get a negative, or their period. Liliana is right that this is so common, my GP said 1 in 3 pregnancies will mc before you know you're pregnant.... but it could be 2 in 3, who knows.... either way it's a lot so it seems it might not be that hard to get the egg fertilised, just a lot harder for it to implant and grow..... still, that's how we are lucky to grow hardy little bubas!

busta i like your last post :)

my poor DS has horrible bug at the moment, hoping we don't catch it as i'd quite like the TTCing this month to be fun!

BustAMove · 28/10/2011 20:26

thanks ilove, hope your DS is well soon, mine is still getting over a horrible bug too. Think there's alot around this time of year. I am, btw, currently getting pissed.

Mama5isalive · 28/10/2011 21:20

Fishkiss · 29/10/2011 02:43

Congrats puzzle

I finally got a line on my OPK this morning, so I'm waiting for donor to get back in town from a meeting here in about an hour then doing AI!! I'm really hoping it works this month but I have always had CM problems so I'm not sure if my 'environment' is really that viable.

I would really like the info on the CP GTR - it would be helpful to me. Thanks and wishing baby dust to all!

iloveberries · 29/10/2011 09:47

nice work busta - hope the head's not too sore today!

Hey mama - congrats on the new house! hoping it brings you lots of luck :) All fine here - was pretty disappointed last month but i always feel better towards the end of AF as you have another window. I've bought a CBFM for use this month which i am happy about as i feel it takes the pressure off a bit....

Got a lovely friend and her brand new daughter coming over for tea today - very excited to see them and looking forward to a new baby cuddle!! (and hearing about the sleepless nights, exploding boobs and all the other delights not so great bits about new motherhood so i can be grateful for the 8 hours uninterrupted sleep every night!!!)

have great weekends all x

Liliana1 · 29/10/2011 10:20

Thanks GTR, would be interested although DH doesn't want me charting and checking every day as he thinks it will add to my stress - yes I know he's right but it's soooo hard!

Anyway yes I would love to know ready for when he relents Grin

Any news puzzle?

Good luck fish and glad the okp's are working for you now.
