Can i just gatecrash for a second?

I do lurk from time to time to see how eveyone is getting on as i frequented many buses in my 9mths ttc dc3 and recognise lots of names.
I know its really easy for me to say but i have come to the conclusion that relaxing about ttc is the way forward,we were doing it loads throughout the months and using opk sticks and getting upset and stressed every month.
So much so that we decided to stop ttc and if it happened it happened and guess what? last month(after doing it once around my fertile time, by chance) it did! and i'm now 8wks pg with dc3!
I really really believe that this is down to me not thinking about ttc,it was very hard and i had really told myself it was never going to happen.
I just wanted to pop in and say it will happen for you and i cannot possibly advocate relaxation enough.
lots of luck to you all x

Liliana1 · 26/10/2011 17:09

Boogie everybody is pg around me too :( My friend at work who started trying at the same time as us has just left to start her mat leave looking all pregnant and beautiful, chattering about packing her hospital bag, decorating the babies room and buying all the bits. I just keep thinking I could have been doing that if things didn't take so bloody long :(

Here ends todays rant! Sorry

Sorry to hear about AF catching up with so many

Fish OV happens the day before the temp rise, which is why temping only works over time as you get to know your cycle because when you get the temp rise it is too late! I'm hopeless with ov sticks though, they never worked for me and I got all sorts of odd readings - I was using internet cheapies though Hmm

:) at the egg floating around but love the fact that the sperm that reach the f tubes sleep while waiting for an egg Grin

deafworm, maybe not the drunken conception route for you then, wouldn't like any awkward questions! I would still enjoy your time away though

MrsSharp · 26/10/2011 18:49

Congratulations to Princess and MrsShears!! [hsmile] Sorry that AF has come for so many more [hsad].

Quick question about pg tests. Was in the supermarket and bought First Response, as I thought I remembered you guys saying that was the best one. Am I right?

I am cd25 on a 26-29 day cycle. Still funny pains in my side - very strange and my hypochondriac self is imagining that it might mean an ectopic pg?

I was feeling very determined yesterday that I wouldn't test until Saturday - when AF is most likely, but now that I've got two tests in the house....it certainly is tempting. If this TTC lark carries on for any length of time, I hope I don't succumb to the eBay cheapies as I know if I've got them in the house I'll test all through my cycle, three times a day!

BoogiesBunny · 26/10/2011 18:52

deaf have a great weekend away! And have a few drinks! I think that we shouldn't put life on hold while we try to create these little lives - keep having fun! Although I'd probably avoid getting completely drunk just in case........

lilianna I think that is what was getting to me - I am so excited for pregnant ladies but it doesn't stop me wishing it was me dealing with a new arrival.

DeeLite · 26/10/2011 19:39

Congratulations Mrsshears and thanks for the advice. I know in my heart it's good advice but it's step away from the illusion of control. I'll try to be strong and think about skipping the next bus / plane and give stepping back and chilling out a go.

Hope you have a wonderful pregnancy.

Notinmykitchen · 27/10/2011 07:03

Congratulations princess! Grin There have to be a couple more to come, and I'm sure the rest of us will be joining you next month!
How are your temps looking GTR? Staying up? Fingers crossed you have finally oved!

My plan for this month is to eat healthily, cut down on drinking, but otherwise relax and hope!

oggy24 · 27/10/2011 07:55

GTR2882 · 27/10/2011 08:07

Morning everyone!! Not having a good start to the day; temps have dropped slightly (36.27 yesterday to 36.22 today) so nothing too dramatic, although probably does indicate that ov has yet to happen! just feel really low, emotional and weepy. Had a massive row with DH which hasn't helped. :(

Think I am going to shelve this months cycle, wait patiently for AF and hope that i can start afresh on the next one (whenever that may be!) Just feeling so hopeless at the moment and keep trying to tell myself to snap out of it, but i just can't - thought DH might have texted/emailed to see how I am, but he hasn't and that's making me feel even more low!! On top of this, everywhere i go, and I mean everywhere, there seems to be pg women, and although it's wonderful to see i can't help wishing it was me. Everytime i go on FB there is someone else announcing they're pg or talking about it constantly and i just want to scream at them to shut the f*&k up and get over it (highly irrational!) I know it will happen.........just can't seem to see the light at the end of the tunnel at the moment. No SWI last night either, don't think DH was up for it :(

Anyway, enough of me ranting on - will try to be more positive!! Sorry for those who have been visited by the witch - fx'd for everyone next month - between us there has to be a few BFPs!!! [hgrin]

BoogiesBunny · 27/10/2011 09:06

You don't have to be more positive gtr - these threads are great because you can say things you can't 'out there'. It will happen for all of us - it is only a small percentage who have serious problems conceiving - the odds are in our favour. But it doesn't stop the hurt in the meantime so we need to be here for each other.

.... I think avoiding facebook as much as possible is a good policy - it makes me far too angry every time I go on reading what people put out there about their lives (especially their new families). 'No ones life is that wonderful so don't bulls**t me people'!

oggy24 · 27/10/2011 09:19

Oh I agree boogies! Though a lot of people on mine are the opposite 'Having an awful day as baby sicked on clothes' - Big deal! If only I had the chance to be sicked on by my own baby!! [hangry]

We all have times when we just don't realise how lucky we are.

BustAMove · 27/10/2011 09:28

sorry you're feeling crap GTR this ttc is a real roller coaster! I'm up and down like a yo yo. Those closest to me get it in the neck of course, which is just shite behaviour. I keep off facebook I have to say, not particularly for the pregnancy news, just because in general I find it a bit much. My on line tests haven't turned up yet, I ordered them on Sunday, but have to say didn't pay for postage. Hoping I'd get them today, although god knows why as got a BFN only yesterday.

GTR2882 · 27/10/2011 09:30

Ah thanks Thanks boogies and oggy you have all been so wonderful and supportive. It's great to be able to let loose once in a while!! Yeah i think that FB needs to be avoided - i only really use it to keep in contact with family who live abroad, but can't really avoid the barrage of annoying comments, so yes, will limit my use and start taking deep breaths when things get on top of me!! :)

Deafworm · 27/10/2011 11:02

Oh oggy and gtr, so sorry you are having a rough time, I really want to give you both words of encouragement, I remember what you are going through now, it took us about 3 years ttc #1 but hang in there, it's vicious seeing those around you being pregnant and having babies, I nearly lost one friendship as I just couldn't cope with a friend falling pregnant accidentally and listening to her feeling when I'd have given anything in the world to swap, we have the friendship back now but it won't ever be what it was as we were both in our own pit of despair and just didn't get the other side. BUT it's worth it, we hung in there and hoped and prayed and dd1 is worth every moment of it, even now she's an awkward fashionista pre teen in the making! Just remember you aren't alone, im more than happy to share my story in more detail if anyone wants to know but I wasn't sure how helpful it was to launch into it! Dd1 took 3 years, dd2 took 14 months and dd3 was failed contraception and morning after pill so lord knows what happened there!

Anyway sending hugs despite mn standards! And I hope in some way that's a help, if not please ignore it but know it does get betterThanks

puzzletree · 27/10/2011 12:25

ooh congrats on the BFPs!!!! and sorry to those who've missed out this cycle :(
I'm still in limbo, AF due any time from today, cycle length has been really variable for me this year. did a cheapy test this morning and it was BFN so I'm probably out but will wait for confirmation either way....

iloveberries · 27/10/2011 13:36

deafworm - what a lovely post. Really happy you got your 3 lovely girls in the end :)

iloveberries · 27/10/2011 13:37

GTR i wish i had helpful advice for you but i don't... so sorry it must be flipping annoying for you.

The worst i have had is a pregnant friend banging on about how she's losing her figure.........for FU*KS sake!!!!

GTR2882 · 27/10/2011 15:30

ladies thank you all so very very much Thanks i am so pleased to have found you all and that we are all there to offer support, advice and giggles along the way. You have made a bad day so much better. Even the rain cannot dampen my mood now [hgrin]

Deafworm your story is inspirational and I am so pleased that you now have 3 lovely DC, I know i need to just stop thinking about it so much and relaxing, but as we all know, it is never as easy or simple as that!!

It also doesn't help that some colleagues keep mentioning pg to me, one kept going on about my biological clock, the other mentioned the amount i was eating and not getting hungry (I was just very hungry that day!!) and the other commented on how often i visit the little ladies room (think it's all the coffee, despite cutting down!) I want to tell them "yes, I am in fact, TTC; I am not being successful and you constant ramblings are quite frankly insensitive and unnecessary" clearly i can;t do that, so I have to unload on you all instead......aren't you lucky [hgrin]

berries that actually made me snort very loudly, good thing I am searching the internet and thinking of ways to improve our chances this month working from home this afternoon [hgrin]

Deafworm · 27/10/2011 20:02

Gtr glad you are feeling better, unload really it's the best thing for you, I didn't have anything like this when ttc dd1 and had nowhere to get all my ttc stress out! I was lucky in a way as I didn't have many pregnant peers and only a handful of people considered we might want children as we started ttc at 18 and married at 19 so most assumed we didn't want kids yet. We had to contend with professionals assuming our age meant our marriage wasn't important and we couldn't want / shouldn't have children!

Berries that would leave me struggling to be polite I think!

Ilanthe · 27/10/2011 20:44

Hello all - sad to see that it is getting you down ladies, but good that you can get it all out. I'm lucky in that I don't know anyone else who's pregnant at the moment. My best friend is about to start TTC and I bet she beats me to it. I can't imagine being anything but happy for her at the moment but I suspect the reality will be different.

Anyway, CD21 here and 2ww well under way. Not a symptom in sight though. To make matters worse DH has bought tons of booze tonight for reasons which escape me, including a rather posh and delicious looking bottle of brandy and I can't have any of it. Sad

I actually contemplated testing earlier, I have no idea why. I have 4 PTs in the house and they are remaining unopened until the 2nd November. Oh yes.

Fishpants · 27/10/2011 21:42

Evening all. I'm having some ovulation confusion - my OPK's are doing my head in. Not feeling too great today, sure that's not due to early pg symptoms but maybe just from the stress.

Anyone feeling any symptoms? We have a lot coming to the end of the 2ww it seems.

MrsSharp · 27/10/2011 21:54

I'm at the end of my 2ww and definitely have a symptom, I've been feeling really icky - like I've eaten too many minstrels....oh wait, I have Blush! In all seriousness, I have a distinct lack of symptoms other than odd twinges.

On CD 26 of a 26-29 day cycle, so praying AF stays away.

Sorry that some of you are feeling so down with TTC, and really hoping this is the month for us all.

Deafworm · 27/10/2011 22:15

Sorry fishpants I can't really help on the ov front but I hope it works out. I'm due to ov on Monday so will be a while before I get to ss!

Fingers crossed for you mrssharp

BoogiesBunny · 27/10/2011 22:22

AF is due any day now - my 'symptoms' include being weepy for the last 3 days, bloated, tired all week and feeling a bit blue - I don't feel pregnant at all and think that accounts for feeling rather low.

I soooo want there to me a little one in my tummy!!!!!!! In all our tummies actually!!!
