Hi shiny good luck with your ttc adventure

dizzy sorry to hear about your eventful day yesterday and your imminent house move, hope it all goes smoothly for you. These things always happen at the same time don't they?

Hmm magic preggo finding wasps Hmm not sure I really want that to be true, might run the risk of being attacked by a swarm if I ever manage to get pregnant

dreamfeeder · 07/10/2011 16:34

hello shiny, hope you get a cooperative pee stick this month!!

Now, dizzy, don't mention the folic acid, I didn't take it til I got my BFP or at least so, so unreliably we can't count it and I feel bad particulalry as it's twins as I should have been taking it religiously if not extra.... Fingers crossed it will not have made the blindest bit of difference as before I got pg I had a very healthy diet with lots of sources of folate.

I popped in earlier but was feeling too miserable to post. Mistakenly tried to wean off my meds, being 12 weeks and all, 3 days ago. Have barely eaten since, done nothing but puke, still got a dehydration headache and back on full dose. Sigh. Plus DD up most of the night (well, 12:30-2:30 when I gave up, got in spare bed with her and let her sleep on my chest til 4am). Then she slept beside me with much soothing til 7 something when I had to egt up to vom, then she fell out of bed. What a bad mother... Tired I am.

PopcornMouse · 07/10/2011 16:50

Congratulations on your wedding, shiny! :)
All good advice here, nothing I can add certainly!

Oh dream that sounds awful - sounds like you should stick with your meds a bit longer! Could DH help out with DD a bit?

BabySade · 07/10/2011 16:54

Hello Shiny welcome to the world of TTC. I would echo what everyone says just DTD and go with the flow. Try to take the folic acid if you remember. I'm terrible at remembering mine Dream I am normally good in the 2WW but apart from that I forget. A lot of people don't even know they are pregnant for the first few weeks anyway so don't worry.
Sorry you are feeling rubbish. I'm still so excited about your twins Grin

Generic hope your scan went ok today

Late how are you doing? Hope AF has got the message and is staying well away.

I tried ringing my GP, basically I was told by a different doctor to get the tests done as close to day 21 as poss regardless of my cycle & I didn't need the day 3 bloods yet. They are all bloody useless I tell you!

That is the kitchenaid of my dreams Biscuit. Its very extravagant I know. It's my 30th soon & I'm hoping I can get some money to put towards it. My MIL got one as a wedding present nearly 40 years ago & it still works!

BabySade · 07/10/2011 17:01

Just realised I had missed a full page of posts!

Good work on that egg popping Dizzy now all that is left to do is JUST FERTILISE!!!!

Can't believe that story about the women who didn't know she was pregnant Blush am also indignant about Farfalla's barmaid!

Cake everything is pregnancy related remember?! Maybe wasps are super sensitive to Hcg?!

Also I never watched the first series of OBEM Imps so I'm off to 4od to see pillowgate myself

PopcornMouse · 07/10/2011 17:02

I have EWCM!

DizzyKipper · 07/10/2011 17:05

Thanks cake. It's been a very bad year for me and OH, fortunately for me it'll be over in 4 days as I move up one numerical slot and can look forward to the next year being much better. Those 2 things should hopefully be the last of it.

Dream you'll be absolutely fine with having missed the folic acid, they say it reduces the chances of having these defects but that doesn't mean it'll all of a sudden become more likely if you do miss them - the prevalence of spina bifida and other defects is very low anyway so you should be fine, particularly as you have already done your best at protecting these babies by having a healthy diet anyway (imo the best way of ensuring a healthy baby anyway). What meds are you on? Sounds like a rotten experience you're going through at the mo.

How sad am I that I've spent almost all day since getting home from work going between MN and fertilityfriend whilst waiting for insurance company to ring? Really want OH to get back soon.

DizzyKipper · 07/10/2011 17:06

Woop woop, woooooooo And no, it's not at all sad, EWCM is the most exciting thing that can happen in a month surely? Wink

BabySade · 07/10/2011 17:07

And Dizzy sorry you had a crap day, I was in my first crash a few weeks ago. It was only minor but I was so shaken up afterwards. Hope you find somewhere nice to live.

PopcornMouse · 07/10/2011 17:25

Until I get my inevitable BFP, Dizzy ;)

That's really crap timing about your move, though, especially the apalling timing. I don't rent so haven't really got a clue but won't you get back your deposit from this landlord to use as a deposit on a new place?

shinyblackgrape · 07/10/2011 17:31

DH is going to be thrilled as all of this has given me an excuse to shop. I've ordered some folic acid online and some ovulations stick things too. All will arrive tomorrow.

Not sure I am going to have the time (or the energy) to hold down a full time job with doing all this! Grin

A final question - is there somewhere I could look for abbreviations etc to make sure I keep up and don't ask silly questions? I can see some posts with numbers etc which I think refer to dates etc.

Dizzy - really sorry to hear about the crash etc and the bad year. Fingers crossed next year will be loads better Smile

DizzyKipper · 07/10/2011 17:53

Hi Baby. You don't get deposits back as soon as you vacate a property - I've found letting agents generally like to deal with these things slowly, though they are required by deposit protection schemes to return any undisputed amounts within X amount of days (it was within 10 days with the last property - we contacted agents on the 11th day asking why they'd not contacted us and asking to be paid immediately any undisputed amount). The catch is they're only required to pay undisputed amounts within this time frame - if they decide they need to keep some or all of the deposit and I disagree with them it can then turn into a lengthy process that could take quite a few months to get your deposit back.

When you move into a new property you are required to pay the deposit on the day you move in - so unfortunately you can't just use your old deposit for your new deposit. Which will make things hard for us because realistically we'd have to look at raising at least £1k for a new deposit even though we have £1250 currently sitting in an account as our old deposit! It'll be nice when we do get back that £1250 (assuming they don't try to keep it), but it's not really going to help us in the meantime.

We're thinking that we may just ask the landlords to accept us not paying rent for the last 6 weeks since there's no way we could actually raise this much in the time we have, and our landlords do seem to be nice. Speaking of which, I'm meant to be emailing them today asking them exactly that. fx. If not then we may be having to look into moving back in with my mum temporarily Confused

DizzyKipper · 07/10/2011 17:54

Thanks shiny, I think this most definitely will be a better year because I've decided absolutely that I will be brooking no argument about it! Wink

Biscuitsandtea · 07/10/2011 18:04

Shiny there is a link to a list of abbreviations somewhere along the top of your screen if you are on a computer (can't post a link to it as I'm on my phone - sorry)

Other than that though, please do ask if you want to know anything - no one minds explaining Smile. I know all too well as I only joined MN in June and there's a lot to learn!

Will post a link to that list of abbreviations when I get home if I get a chance Smile

DizzyKipper · 07/10/2011 18:06

Oo perfect opportunity for me to test out what I learned from the linking demonstration Grin

You'll find the abbreviations here

NinjaChipmunk · 07/10/2011 18:20

nice link dizzy Grin
Hello shiny and welcome, I can only echo what everyone else has said about no of times per day etc. Congratulations on your wedding.

dizzy sorry to hear about your flat, was it you that moved fairly recently? I really hope your landlords do the right thing by you, its such an expensive time of year for it to be happening.

Any news from generic yet? on her scan? Hope it went ok?

Biscuitsandtea · 07/10/2011 18:30

Nice linking Dizzy :)

Yes, where is generic?

Also Shiny, as well as lots of abbreviations, you'll find there's a lot of us on this thread, so don't feel shy to ask people to remind you what they're doing / have done. We're all at different stages and I frequently have to ask people because I forget Blush

ScrambledSmegs · 07/10/2011 18:36

Hi everyone! I'm back in the rat-smacking game, after a very brief wallow. Cheered myself up with a shopping spree Grin. I'm now the proud owner of a fanjometer! Oh, and a Babyliss Big Hair, and some Lily Lolo testers. This Mumsnet habit is getting expensive because I'm so easily led.

Hi shiny! Congratulations on your wedding, and impending pregnancy!

Aw, Dizzy that's rubbish for you. Hope you manage to sort something out, that's the last thing you need right now. Although, perfect conditions for an ironic BFP, no?

Woo-hoo! Popcorn, EWCM is vair, vair exciting! Rat-smacking a-go-go!

Kitchenaids are the most amazing bit of kitchen porn ever. I lust after them deeply. I like the almond colour, but there's also a lovely purple one which makes me weak at the knees too. Mmmm...

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 07/10/2011 18:58

Helloooo all! Have a bit of crampy cramps coming & going, but still no AF..... Grin Tomorrow I will be 10 days late, still absolutely no symptoms, pretty much exactly the same as before. If I am pg I will feel a bit selfish for queue-barging, as it will be my 2nd BFP in 5 months.. sorry for hogging Wink

Biscuitsandtea · 07/10/2011 19:01

Welcome back scrambled Smile - glad you're feeling more positive. I have a babyliss big hair too - it's ace Grin. I think I'd quite like one of those instyler things but have bazillions of hair things that I don't use and would like to try one out first to see if it was any good before I splashed £100 on it Confused

Biscuitsandtea · 07/10/2011 19:03

Late - please can I insist that you come on here and let us know ASAP when you've tested? I'm still a bit disappointed that you reckon you won't get up at 6am to do it

Good luck - I'm brooking for you Smile

DizzyKipper · 07/10/2011 19:07

It's a 3 bedroom house, we moved into it at the end of June with the expectation of being here for 5 years. We've now been here 14 weeks. It was a 6 month contract but should've turned into a rolling contract at the end of the term. Emailed landlord and they're saying they're going to ask agency for advice - I know what advice that will be. More stress, but yes perfect circumstances for an ironic BFP.

Biscuits not to fear I have trouble remembering everything as well! Clearly that pregnancy brain we both have Wink

Welcome back Scrambled, it's good to see you here again Smile But fanjometer? Confused lol Dare I ask?

DizzyKipper · 07/10/2011 19:10

Late are you testing tomorrow? If so I'll be looking forward to your BFP even though I'll be waiting from 6am for you to announce it, I think this thread is a bit overdue for one. Very best of luck and I'll be here ready with the pom poms Smile

Biscuitsandtea · 07/10/2011 19:12

Also what is a lili lolo tester scrambled?

TheLittleFriend · 07/10/2011 20:02

Welcome Shiney

and glad to see you back Scrambled

Late I can't believe your will power - 10 days late and no test is such good going. Good luck for the morning
