Ooh Imps enjoy OBEM - try not to cry too much! Just remember, birth can be pretty painful, but at the end of it you get a lovely baby and it's all worthwhile. I liked it on friends where someone said the birth is one day of your life and then you have the rest of your life to spend with your child. (Sob)

Solars so not only will you be having an ironic BFP, but you will be having twins too! How's it going with the Clomid? I will be asking about Clomid myself although it's probably not appropriate for me but I'm willing to try anything

Baby I don't know the answers to your questions, but I'm sure someone will.

Dream you will need a massive buggy! DD will be walking well by 18/19 months, but she probably won't walk far before she gets tired. I suppose you can't do the baby in a sling, toddler in a pushchair technique with twins! You will have your hands full but it will be so exciting and the baby bit doesn't last long and then hopefully they will all be great friends being so close in age. You may even get a girl and a boy at once!

BabySade · 06/10/2011 15:20

Nope they are about 32 days on average. I did tell him that but he said to still have them done on day 21. He wasn't very good at explaining it all. While I was in there another doctor interrupted to ask him something & it was a doctor I've worked with before so anyway it came out that I was a nurse. I did explain a few times that I'm a peadiatric nurse and I don't really know anymore about all this than the average patient but he still kept speaking in medical terms. I'm feeling a bit confused Blush

GenericDietCola · 06/10/2011 15:22

Oh God Minesa I am so sorry. I remember you and I hope you are doing OK. Lots of love to you at a sad time.

Imps7 · 06/10/2011 15:22

Oh Minesa I of course remember you. I am so so sorry about your little one. You've come to absolutely the right place for support and rat smacking activities though so we'll get you the next BFP in no time.

Here, have a Chelsea bun.

Solars · 06/10/2011 15:25

Hi G&T so very sorry to hear your news.

BabySade · 06/10/2011 15:26

Minesa so sorry to hear that. Lots of hugs for you. When you are ready to smack that rat again we will all be here brooking for you.

Dream your going to have to get a triple buggy Grin you will cope I'm sure. Your are the mist efficient rat smacker to date getting two babies at once. I really hope you start feeling better soon.

Thanks for all the answers Solars and Farfalla here's to your ironic BFP on your first month of clomid Solars Smile

farfallarocks · 06/10/2011 15:29

g&t you poor thing, do you know what happened?
The consultant I am working with told me miscarriages at that stage should be investigated as they are unusual. I know we take 12 weeks as the marker but apparently most happen before 8 weeks.

baby its definitely 7 days after ovulation NOT just day 21. You would end up getting a very misleading result (low) which might panic you into thinking you had not ovulated.

scarletfingernail · 06/10/2011 15:30

Hi Mines I remember you getting your BFP, I'm so sorry to hear your news.

NinjaChipmunk · 06/10/2011 15:30

minesa so sorry to hear that, I remember you. You'll deffo get lots of support on here. Big unMNy hugs to you.

baby c& p "Progesterone Test: This will check if ovulation has taken place. It should be taken 7 days before a period, so for a 28-day cycle it is done on day 21. If a period doesn't come 6-8 days after the test, then it will need to be repeated. A level of 30 nmol/l or more suggests ovulation has occurred." from this website. Has lots of good info on it.

Solars · 06/10/2011 15:35

Baby I was told to do the test 7 days before the last day of my cycle but that's also assuming you have a 14 day luteal phase, as Farfalla said it should be 7 days after you ovulate if you know when you ovulate. My cycle is also about 32 days so I was going to do mine on day 25, however that fell on a weekend so in fact I did my test on day 24. My results were fine. Can you perhaps ask to speak to your gp again if you're still not too sure? Hope that helps.

Loooopy · 06/10/2011 15:38

highly jealous of Imps and her global knives! agree re silicone spatulas, i got some a few months back after my rubber one perished, and they are amazing :)

we don't have a washing line either...

but we do have 2 cleaners that come for an hour twice a month - makes a big difference to the state of the house!!

we must be due some BFP's, feels like ages since the last lot!

And another GBBO fan here! although must stop baking, as not helping me get back into most of my clothes!

ScrambledSmegs · 06/10/2011 15:41

I'm so sorry to hear that, Minesa. I'm sure you will have your BFP before the year is out.

Yay Dream! Congratulations! Twins will be awesome - hope the sickness eases up soon.

Not quite back to my normal self (horrific period is not helping) so...

Solars · 06/10/2011 15:43

Generic I haven't started the clomid just yet as I still need to get this cycle out the way first Blush i'm obviously thinking ahead especially with the prospect of twins that it brings along For some strange reason I just don't think it's happened this month, my AF is not due either monday or tuesday next week. To be honest I'm a little scared to death about taking clomid after reading the horrendous side effects it can cause.

BabySade · 06/10/2011 15:45

Thanks Ninja I will have a look at that website. I'm having the bloods done at my work so I'm going to do it a few days later. I'll probably have to guess the day as I'm still clueless about ovulation.

Hi Looopy

darn, missed lots of posts there.

sorry to minesa. Cannot imagine how you are feeling, but hope you get another BFP before the end of the year if you do start trying again.

double congratulations to dreamfeeder. I think being pregnant with twins and coping with a 12 month old is more than enough justification for your DH to pay for a cleaner at the very least!!!

farfallarocks · 06/10/2011 16:12

g&t great news they are testing though as at least you can find out if it was just bad luck this time. Sounds like they are much more advanced than the UK where you have to have 3 before anyone does anything!

Take it easy

Imps7 · 06/10/2011 16:12

Oooh have just got to Joy in episode 2 of OBEM! Haaa bless her no wonder she's stroppy!

farfallarocks · 06/10/2011 16:16

joy is a complete legend, I lurved her.

Just taken a look at my desk -

manuka honey, B100 vits and brazil nuts

I really hope no one else is TTC here because if they are I am totally rumbled!

Biscuitsandtea · 06/10/2011 16:17

Minesa - sorry to hear your news - but as others have said we're brimming over with support here so settle in, get comfy and let us spoil you rotten.

Don't forget buns and cakes on here are calorie free so indulge away :)

farfallarocks · 06/10/2011 16:17

imps have you got to Joy in 'Pillowgate' yet?

Imps7 · 06/10/2011 16:23

Yes, Pillowgate is brilliant!

Biscuitsandtea · 06/10/2011 16:26

Spill re pillowgate please :)

(I don't think I could make myself actually watch OBEM without being sick!)

farfallarocks · 06/10/2011 16:29

biscuit I can't really describe it, its not that funny in black and white just Joy moaning about her pillows but its the way she does it.

I am not sure I can watch it this year, in Jan we weren't trying so I was curious in a more detached way, I think it might be too raw for this year (unless of course I am happily undiffed by then!)

Imps7 · 06/10/2011 16:34

Joy is this poor woman who has been in hospital for 4 days - her first induction didn't work. She had been moved to several different rooms and someone had told her to take the pillows with her - then another midwife made a comment about how she was using too many pillows or something. Cue much stropping (behind the midwives' backs) about the total and utter outrageousness of the midwife's comment, how the NHS should spend more money on pillows, how stressed out the pillow comment had made her etc etc. Very amusing!
