Wow!!

farfallarocks · 06/10/2011 13:41

dream well done you!

GenericDietCola · 06/10/2011 13:44

Hello, I'm back - been away with work for a couple of days.

Wow Dream that is FANTASTIC news! Well done you! I am secretly hoping for twins this time when I confirm my pregnancy at the end of the month. Did you have any suspicions? Are they identical ones? (I've forgotten the proper scientific name)

Popcorn pleeeease can you lend me your cleaner? I love the idea of getting a cleaner for Christmas - I would seriously consider that.

Late hope you are doing OK. The mentalling is hard, but take it a day at a time.

Scrambled sorry that AF turned up, the cow. I'm sure she will not be back.

Imps I was sure this was your month. So sorry, but glad you are finding ways to be positive (as always).

I'm on day 6 so started the build up to SWI last night. Scan tomorrow on my uterine 'growth'. Perhaps they will decide it is a baby this time. Sigh.

BartletForAmerica · 06/10/2011 13:49

Finally sitting down to catch up with things and then I see this news!

dream, congratulations! Great news! How are you and MrDream feeling about it? (I have another friend who also got pregnant while BFing - she'll have 3 under 15 months!)

dreamfeeder · 06/10/2011 13:50

Thanks all. Non identical they think, 2 placentas. No wonder I'm enormous... We're both really excited. Dh twigged before me on scan screen. I was trying not to puke to be fair...

Imps7 · 06/10/2011 13:54

Dream!!!!!!!! What brilliant news!!!!! I'd LOVE to have twins!!!!! Oh you and Mr Dream must be feeling on top of the world today!

farfallarocks · 06/10/2011 13:56

CakePigeon · 06/10/2011 14:22

Congrats dream that's so amazing! Grin Get thee a massive buggy immediately!

Imps7 · 06/10/2011 14:24

Manic SWI and super double-egg popping ovaries!

Imps7 · 06/10/2011 14:24
BabySade · 06/10/2011 14:37

OMG!!!!!!!!! Dream that is amazing news. No wonder you've been feeling so sick with an extra baby in there Wink

I'm so jealous of the cleaner Popcorn, I could really do with one as I am useless.

Farfalla have you got an appointment for your pelvic ultrasound?
DH & I went to the doctors yesterday. He is going to do the day 21 bloods for me, sperm test for DH & also a pelvic ultrasound for me. I'm relieved that something is being done but also feeling quite scared.

I love buying kitchen gadgets. I've got this random garlic crusher that I bought in Poland which is my favourite. Has anyone got a kitchenaid? I'm thinking of asking for one for Xmas.

PopcornMouse · 06/10/2011 14:44

Omg dream! That's amazing! Were you shocked?
I'd very secretly love twins too not sure how I'd manage though.

NinjaChipmunk · 06/10/2011 14:47

Dream how very exciting, well done you and MrDream. 2 little snuffly babies to sniff and cuddle, aw how lovely. I'm chuffed for you. So does that mean you laid 2 eggs or not? Someone with a better knowledge of biology needs to come along soon....

baby good they have booked the tests, don't be scared, its good to know whats going on in there if you can. When you get the day 21 results, don't forget to ask about day 3 bloods being done too. Pelvic ultrasound wasn't too bad when I had it done.

generic good luck for tomorrow lovey, have you got your list of questions to ask? Be sure to let us know what they say.

farfallarocks · 06/10/2011 14:47

baby yes I have the appointment. Was told its better to go at the beginning of the cycle so not until the end of the month now. Apparently they check ovaries, womb (fibroids etc) and the lining.

Is your doc going to do day 3 tests as well? Those are quite critical as it can rule out PCOS and also check your FSH is not too high which can cause problems.

GenericDietCola · 06/10/2011 14:52

Yes, this means Dream laid two eggs! Wow! Identical twins form when one fertilised egg divides into two embryos, but non-identical twins come from two eggs!

Thanks Ninja - I seem to have lost my original list of questions, not sure how, but I will write new ones tonight and obsess about it all night

Baby I echo what Ninja said - don't be scared. It's good to be taking action and of course now you are eligible for your ironic BFP, so it's all good.

Imps7 · 06/10/2011 15:00

Ooooh I've just found the first series of One Born Every Minute on 4OD!! Exciting - I didn't see any of the first series!

Right, working from home is officially cancelled and I shall be spending the next couple of hours scaring myself senseless watching the miracle of birth.

scarletfingernail · 06/10/2011 15:03

Imps I loved that series. I remember one lady in it called Joy, she featured over a couple of episodes as her labour went on for years. Her and her (I think Italian) husband were so funny together.

Solars · 06/10/2011 15:03

oh my, oh my Dream what fabulous news!!!! How exciting, since we had our gynae appointment last week and being put on clomid our chances of having twins increases so DH and I have been contemplating this scenario, initially I was filled with horror but the thought now is one of 'yes please i'd quite like that', so thrilled for you, Dream & Mr Dream :)

Generic good luck with the appointment tomorrow will be thinking of you :)

Baby everything will be fine I'm sure, you're doing something positive. I love kitchen gadgets too, I have the Kitchenaid blender (which I adore) but not the mixer yet!

BabySade · 06/10/2011 15:07

Oops I didn't ask about the day 3 tests. Luckily with my long cycles I should have time to get back to the GP after the day 21 tests & ask for them. By the way where you two told you would have to fast for 12 hours before? Does anyone know if it really needs to be on day 21? I'm at a wedding on day 20 about a 5 hour drive away so it's going to be difficult to get back for the bloods as we are staying overnight. I know I should have asked all this at the appointment but he was practically pushing us out of the door & I only realised the problem with the dates afterwards.

Generic good luck for tomorrow's appointment Smile

Solars · 06/10/2011 15:08

Baby are your cycles 28 days?

dreamfeeder · 06/10/2011 15:09

Agreed generic! 2 eggs, each fertilised individually, 2 placentas (hence why I am the size of a house already).

I am getting super-excited now it's sunk in a bit, I was very shocked to start with. I assumed I was either mis-remembering the vomming last time, and just more tired due to DD, and huge because of lack of tummy muscles/ second baby. We're both excited, 3 was always the plan so its not like we wanted 2 nd now have more on the way than we ever thought we wanted... But I feel grim grim grim today. I couldn't drink anything pre-scan, have a headache and a hungry but still puking... hunting out my meds again now..
I am worried about coping with them all though, and will I need a super-massive, massive buggy so DD can have a seat too?? She'll be 18 or 19 months, depending when the twins arrive!

farfalla and babysade, good news about the tests, ironic BFP's very soon all round!!

dreamfeeder · 06/10/2011 15:10

oh, and i thought I'd love twins til I had DD and then I thought thank goodness there's only one HOW would I cope with twins... will be finding out I guess...

Solars · 06/10/2011 15:12

sorry posted too quickly. If your cycles are 28 days then your test is carried out on day 21 but if they are longer or shorter then you need to work out your 'day 21' The test should be carried out 7 days before the last day of your cycle, so that may not be 'day 21' if you don't have a 28 day cycle, hope that is clear.

farfallarocks · 06/10/2011 15:14

baby the term say 21 is a bit misleading, it assumes ovulation on day 14 and a 28 day cycle

What you need to aim for is to take the test 7 days after ovulation. This is when progesterone peaks if you are ovulating. I don;t know why this is not explained properly by teh GPs!!

I was not told to fast, I think that is only necessary for glucose tests, are they doing that?
