New thread ladies, pull up a pew.

Ah, Glad I'm not the only Potterer :)

I remember DH and I both read book 6 on holiday in Las Vegas and both of us had the same reaction when we got to the end - arghhhh how can I not just have the next one to carry straight on! Then book 7 came out while I was on a conference with work so I just went to my room every night until I'd finished it! Fortunately one of my work colleagues was a MEGA fan - like queueing up outside Smiths at midnight when the last book came out so I looked quite rational in comparison :)

I'm good thanks Generic. 15 weeks tomorrow :) I still can't believe I'm pregnant, but have bought a maternity coat for the winter just in case all these doctor people are right!

Hope your scan is informative then on Friday - I agree it sounds very wise to get as much info as you can and fingers crossed it will all be irrelevant when your bfp pops up anyway. But never hurts to have a plan B!

Biscuitsandtea · 03/10/2011 11:53

And Imps, at first I giggled at your 'communal garden' but then you made the very wise point that 'common or garden' doesn't make a great deal of sense either. I mean what has the garden got to do with it?

And while we're on the topic - dry as a bone? Confused Hmm

GenericDietCola · 03/10/2011 12:16

Oh wow 15 weeks sounds ages! Well done Biscuits! Pic of maternity coat please to help with the positive visualisation. Thanks for your good wishes - it will be fine because I am brooking no argument!

Yeah - common or garden? I always imagine it being something to do with birds eg common or garden sparrow. Am I mad?

Biscuitsandtea · 03/10/2011 12:21

This is the coat.

I will be returning it if I don't look exactly like the model though when I try it on, complete with lovely blonde hair and her legs. That's reasonable right?

Imps7 · 03/10/2011 12:24

Fabbo coat Biscuits! I would expect you to be given a cute flint cottage and some rowing boats when you start wearing it too!

farfallarocks · 03/10/2011 12:38

Hello all fab womb owners! So much to catch up on over the weekend!

Sorry about AF generic , brook no argument with the consultant!

Will have a read through now!

dreamfeeder · 03/10/2011 12:45

I thought common or garden was referring to nature-y things, that are found commonly/in gardens, like house sparrows etc etc too generic...

biscuits, I said I wasn't going to buy a maternity coat, but you've given me envy, I've got the JoJo catalogue here (quite fancy the empire line red one....) and I'm wavering. Obviously not til I have a scan confirmation of a growing baby (and not just a growing belly) on Thursday. 3 days to wait!!!!!! Entirely reasonable. I only want the red one if I cn look effortlessly stylish like the lady. I wish I could do a link for you but I don't know how- i'll have a little practice now, but I def can't make it say 'here', that's just magic...

dreamfeeder · 03/10/2011 12:47

hey, i think i made a link!!!! That coat. But I'm not very stylish. And I think it's too long for me, but wouldn't it be nice to look like that!!!

Imps7 · 03/10/2011 12:51

Another fab coat! Oh I can't wait until I get to go shopping for maternity clothes! I haven't bought myself any new clothes for about 9 months and even then they were some cool bits and bobs from charity shops (one dress is my most complimented-on wardrobe item - all for the princely sum of £4.99!) - all my spare cash is going on the house at the mo. But if I can't physically fit into my clothes any more I will have no option but to go on a massive spending spree! And I will probably even make OH pay half, considering that it's half his fault too!

Biscuitsandtea · 03/10/2011 12:53

I do like that coat too Dream. I might well have gone for somewthing like that if I was going to work this time but as I don't work so am mostly in jeans I thought something shorter might be more versatile for me.

And well done on the link. It's dead easy to go from that link to one that just says 'here' or something. You've just done this: put your web address here right? (obviously without the spaces)

Well all you need to do is the same thing so followed by the web address, then a space, then what you want it to say, then again. Example with single [ instead of double so you can see what I've typed:

[www.dreamisagenius.co.uk This is so true]

That should (I think) come up with a hyper link just saying 'This is so true'

Does that make sense?

dreamfeeder · 03/10/2011 13:09

biscuits, you are the voice of reason, I will be wearing it for 2 days a week at work (I wear combats to work and sit on the floor with kids A LOT), and to the park, town, out and about with trainers. Sigh. Pretty, but not suitable.

Love my linking tutorial, will have to have a practice asap

TheLittleFriend · 03/10/2011 13:21

Looking forward to being cycle buddies again Generic & getting our bfp's in a month Smile

Imps you sound totally pregnant. PIAR!!!!

ScrambledSmegs · 03/10/2011 13:28

Little bit of pink on wiping just now. Wibble. Am trying to be strong but in the face of that and some cramps I am a tad concerned Sad.

Imps7 · 03/10/2011 13:37

What DPO are you Scrambled?? (I just called you Wibble then but realised before pressing post!

GenericDietCola · 03/10/2011 13:50

Love both those coats, but with my soon-to-be-confirmed July baby, I won't be needing one! I recently bought a load of some new clothes because I was fed up of hanging on, expecting to be in mat clothes soon.

Scrambled - eek! Hope you are just being too observant.

Yay Little we get to be buddies again! This must be our turn surely - you with your newly acupuncture-regulated cycles and me with my ironic post-gynae appointment BFP - hurrah! What day are you on? I'm strangely pleased that Af eventually arrived on the 1st so that it's super easy for me to work out what day I'm up to!

ScrambledSmegs · 03/10/2011 13:58

Um, let me check... OPK was positive last saturday, so, erm, 10DPO? Is that how it works?

Yes, I know it could be implantation, but I have a short luteal phase and it's probably not. Sigh...

Great. Let's see how much work I get done this afternoon, with all the knicker-checking.

Imps7 · 03/10/2011 14:04
Solars · 03/10/2011 14:21

oooo Scrambled I have everything crossed for you, hope you can hang on in there, no wibbling allowed here, ok?

Lovely coats by the way Dream & Biscuits you're both going to look fabulous in them and you're such clever girls with doing all the links too! Is hoping it's the pregnancies that has made them so clever so won't worry about the fact that I can't do it yet

Brooking for scrambled and imps who I noticed is keeping a low profile!!

Dream - best of luck with the scan on Thursday and I really hope you feel better soon!

biscuits I can;t believe how far along you are already!

My MIL drove me mad this weekend, well technically she is step MIL.
We told her what had happened and her classic lines were to me:

  1. Oh well you must make sure it does not affect your relationship, your DH comes first, don't show him you are too upset, it will put him off actually DH is a lovely lovely man, no thanks to you may I add

  2. Years ago you would not know you were pregnant, its just a late period. My friend had 10 miscarriages, her body was just not in the right place, I would not bother with tests just keep on going.

Yes thanks a lot MIL secretly grateful that my DH shares no genetic material with this woman and neither will our dcs

Imps7 · 03/10/2011 16:19

Tee hee that's only because I've been glued to Fertility Friend, searching for every chart possible which could prove to me once and for all that I am 100% diffed. Surprisingly I haven't found it yet...

Imps7 · 03/10/2011 16:20

Oh, and your MIL sounds like a mad old bat a bit out of touch. Ignore, ignore, ignore. And maybe laugh at her a bit.

PopcornMouse · 03/10/2011 16:22

Omg far! Me --> Shock & Hmm
