New thread ladies, pull up a pew.

OP posts:
ScrambledSmegs · 29/09/2011 11:04

Well I'm obviously upduffed Dizzy so I'm expecting AF in about, ooh, 9 months at least (more with bf)?! Grin But if the witch was due this month, then Sunday. Which is only 9dpo. Bit worried about that, although it may be a bit silly as I have a good record with an even shorter cycle - 21 days pre-DD! Anyway, fingers crossed.

I don't really know about the technical side of preseed - i presume it's just mobility and non-killing of the little fellas?

DizzyKipper · 29/09/2011 11:12

hehe excellent scrambled, a 9 month break from the evil witch minimum sounds about right.

I got a bit obsessive and started googling like mad, apparently preseed creates the "perfect environment" for sperm when trying to conceive - can help them to live longer potentially as well as more easily get to where they need to be. All sounding good.

Biscuitsandtea · 29/09/2011 11:48

Hold on, hold on, rewind.

Scrambled did you say a mirror fell on you from a great height or something? That sounds awful!!! Shock

CakePigeon · 29/09/2011 12:09

scrambled that sounds awful. I hope you are ok now.

baby sorry to hear you think AF is on her way. I hope you're wrong but have some Wine anyway and some Thanks because they are pretty! Hope your DH is ok as well. i know mine gets really upset every month now too. unfortunately this is usually acompanied by him saying something insensitive about how my womb is "stupid" which is what I got last month - NOT what I needed. So I hope yours is better Wink

by the way LOVE peeonastick.com

imps promising signs! any symptoms to go with it?

ScrambledSmegs · 29/09/2011 12:18

Ah, yes. It was a bit of a shock. Bloody heavy too, luckily was bending over while drying hair so it got me full on the back not on the head. Of course, we can't know for sure that it was the mirror that caused the miscarriage, but it was a bit coincidental that it fell on me in the morning and by noon I was bleeding. Funny that Hmm.

Cake that's awful Shock! How would he like it if you told him his sperm were clearly more stupid?

NinjaChipmunk · 29/09/2011 12:25

blimey scrambled thats awful, you poor thing.

and cake that is very insensitive. I hope you told him so! My dp occasionally says things like that when his brain isn't fully engaged. Whilst i'm not excusing it, I guess he's just upset?

ScrambledSmegs · 29/09/2011 12:28

Ah thanks guys. I'm okay about it now though - after all, that baby wouldn't have been DD, who is absolutely perfect in every way and I can't imagine my life without her.

Biscuitsandtea · 29/09/2011 12:32

Gosh Scrambled you poor poor thing! But sounds like a good job you were bending over - would have been even nastier if it had fallen straight on top of you. Not that it wasn't nasty enough - you poor poor thing xx

And cake what a silly thing for DH to say. I spent the best part of 2 years making sure that DH never worried about if it was his sperm that was the problem and making sure he didn't feel bad (even when the SA said there was a problem!) - I think I'd have lumped him with the le creuset frying pan if he'd said something so insensitive Hmm

DizzyKipper · 29/09/2011 12:38

Ouch scrambled, must've missed that post. Really sorry to hear that combined with the MC, sometimes it seems it would be at least nicer to know definitively that X is what caused it and not being left with only suspicions.

TheLittleFriend · 29/09/2011 12:53

Sorry af turned up Generic.

And glad to know I'm not the only one who sometimes does an opk at the same time as hpt Imps!

It looks like I'm starting to get some spotting and cramps this afternoon, but I'm feeling very positive for the coming month. That because this time my cycle has been 24 days. Yes, it may seem short still, I know, but it's the longest since having dd 2 years ago! I've not got past 21 days in the past 6 months and the last two were each 12 days, so I'm really happy to have got this far.

So, definitely continuing with the acupuncture (next one tomorrow) and I'm convinced the B6 is helping, as I've been on the for over a month now and I'm sure it's not a coincidence. For those that were wondering, it's vitamin B6 that is thought to help extend the luteal phase. But it should be taken along side a general B vitamin complex as it needs a does of all the others to ensure it works properly.

NinjaChipmunk · 29/09/2011 13:07

little thats great news about your cycle. You must be really chuffed.

GenericDietCola · 29/09/2011 13:18

Imps I lost paragraphs too on my earlier post (you are not going mad).

Baby like others have said, painful periods are not normal. You should deffo visit the GP and insist they look into that. It could be something like endometriosis or adenomyosis (which I have), which you could get treated.

Scrambled I have used 50mg daily of vit B6 to lengthen my LP in the past and it worked beautifully (conceived DD). In fact I'm going back on it this month after two cycles of only 23 days. The story about being hit by a mirror was shocking and I'm sorry to hear of your mc.

Dizzy lovely news re OH payrise and hope the preseed does it for both of us!

Little great news re acupuncture! Are you back to brooking no argument this cycle?

Well AF is still playing silly beggars. Perhaps the bouncers on the door scared her off after all as it's still not started. Hmm. Sorry to get all your hopes up again but may POAS tomorrow. I'm 99% certain I'm not preggo, but for that 1% it's got to be worth a cheapy eh? Just can't stop thinking of Meconium having that funny period then a BFP...

farfallarocks · 29/09/2011 13:18

Hi gals,
Just back from the consultant, he was very helpful.

He has ordered all sorts of blood tests for Dh and I and an ultra sound.
He said he does not need to test DH's sperm as they are clearly getting to the egg but he wants to check us for chromosonal abnormalities.

He thinks the problem could be my thyroid as my TSH is at 3.9 which he said is within the normal range but in his experience needs to be at 2.5 for conception purposes. He thinks I would be a good candidate to take progesterone from 2 days past ovulation but that he wants to rule everything else out first.
I asked about progesterone extending a doomed pregnancy and he said he would by a week or 2 but not much more than that.

He was totally dimissive of the NK theory and the use of steroids. I think the jury is out on that though as so many women seem to have had success on that front.

One thing I wanted to pass on was that he mentioned 'hyper fertility' as I am getting pregnant reasonably quickly. There is a theory that in some women the uterus is 'unfussy' and allows embryos to implant outside the usual window and that this can lead to miscarriage/chemical pregnancies. He said despite the fact that many women get preggers quickly he said the normal range is 6-9 months. Just wanted to pass that on to you all!!

So we are not to try for this month as the test results can be affected by pregnancy. I will still be on here brooking no argument generally however!

cake I am Shock at your DH's comments, am sure your uterus is fabulous!

GenericDietCola · 29/09/2011 13:28

Oh Farfalla great that he took you so seriously and has ordered all those tests.

DizzyKipper · 29/09/2011 13:30

Did you have some light bleeding then Generic? FWIW when I got my BFP I had some very light bleeding for a day or 2 before it stopped completely, I was also getting cramps and really just felt like my period was about to start any moment, in fact I kept having to go to the loo to check if it had because it felt like it so much. So there is reason to hope! Will keep fx for tomorrow for you.

Glad the meeting went well farfalla, it does sound like he was quite informative. And also glad you will still be here brooking no argument with us.

Imps7 · 29/09/2011 13:54

Musicalmrs also thought her AF had arrived before getting her BFP!! She was part of the Day 8 Posse when her pee stick agreed with her!

Ooooh that sounds really positive Farfalla. I wish we could all have a real live consultant to ask questions to whenever we wanted rather than relying on Dr Google and vague stuff in pregnancy books. Fingers very crossed for you that all is tippity top.

Scrambled, god, awful story. Poor you.

Cake - repeat after me - "My womb is wonderful". Next time OH says that to you, give him a massive thump from me.

I don't have any exciting symptoms really. The statutory sore boobs which are no more painful than usual, nips are slightly more sore than usual (although they have been this sore in previous cycles) and, er, that's it. Disappointing.

GenericDietCola · 29/09/2011 13:54

Yes Dizzy just had light bleeding on wiping yesterday morning and this morning, but nothing other than that. But it was blood rather than brown stuff and I thought the holy grail of implantation was supposed to be brown or pink, not red. I don't feel pre-menstrual but then I don't think I feel pregnant either. The only symptom I think I've got is the dog nose sense of smell, which I do get in pregnancy, but last month I thought I was pregnant because of it and I wasn't. I am mega busy at work today and trying not to think about it.

GenericDietCola · 29/09/2011 13:57

Oh maybe I meant Musical - clearly baby brain!

Imps BROOK NO ARGUMENT!

I am brooking no argument even after AF is here...

Imps7 · 29/09/2011 14:01

Meconium got her BFP 6 or 7 days after AF was due but am not sure about the bleeding - she may well have done. In which your brooking of no argument must continue in full force!

Imps7 · 29/09/2011 14:02

"in which case"

NinjaChipmunk · 29/09/2011 14:20

farfalla thats great news about the consultation, the gynae sounds on the ball.
generic still got my fingers crossed...

Solars · 29/09/2011 14:33

Hi everyone,

This is a very quick post from me so forgive me for missing peeps out, but things are looking exciting for both Generic & Imps will be brooking extra hard for you two.

Yay for you Little

Scrambled what a tragic story, that must have been very difficult (hugs)

Farfalla I'm so glad the gynae appointment went so well, hope mine goes well tomorrow too.

and last but not least to Cake's OH Shock & Shock

Hopefully catch up with you all a little later, toodles...

GenericDietCola · 29/09/2011 14:38

Solars all the best for your appointment tomorrow.

I've thought of another pretend symptom: I had a really vivid dream last night. Actually it was quite exciting - I was on the run in a sort of post-apocalyptic future. Would have made a great film! I kep waking up, then going straight back into it. This is not usual for me and therefore I am concluding that this is a concrete sign of pregnancy. If AF dares to show up again now I will NOT be best pleased.

How about some ice lollies for everyone? Get your orders in. It's hot here (and I am oop north!)

GenericDietCola · 29/09/2011 14:38

And how are Musical and Meconium? Please pop in and tell us how you are.

CakePigeon · 29/09/2011 16:01

My womb is wonderful Grin (if a bit empty for my liking) yes DH can be a bit of a sod at times but I don't think he thought I would take it personally. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he was joking. I didn't at the time though!

generic so excited for you right now eek!

farfalla glad the appointment went well and good luck to solars for yours tomorrow
