X-post! .

Solars · 28/09/2011 15:48

Oh Generic I have everything crossed for you (perhaps that Manuka honey did work?)

Lovely news about scan Scarlet must feel quite reassuring, hope you are doing well.

Cake regarding tea, have you tried Red Bush or Rooibus tea? I drink that which is caffeine free and a lot better than the herbal stuff, which i'm not keen on either. Also I think some of the herbal teas may contain caffeine(???) so you need to read the packet to be on the safe side. These days I just have one cup of normal tea and the rest of the time red bush.

Solars · 28/09/2011 15:50

Sorry - Hello there Dizzy

NinjaChipmunk · 28/09/2011 16:06

I like redbush too solars there seems to be lots of nice variations to it too. I had a nice redbush and citrus recently.

PopcornMouse · 28/09/2011 16:25

O/T: does anyone know if, when you buy a train ticket that changes in London, your underground transfer is included, or do I need to buy a tube ticket on top?

NinjaChipmunk · 28/09/2011 16:37

popcorn I think its usually included. I think they say something along the lines of 'any route permitted'??

NinjaChipmunk · 28/09/2011 16:39

Not sure if I'd risk putting them through the ticket machines on the tube though, I'd probably find one of the staff who can open the barriers...

PopcornMouse · 28/09/2011 16:42

I once had a blazing row with a tube staff member because I was 100% positive that my transfer was included, and he was 100% positive that it wasn't. It had been a long day and I'm not a very confrontational person generally and I don't want to have the same discussion again...... (it was during the volcano incident so it had been a stupidly long journey in severely overcrowded carriages and I had had enough several hours prior - it culminated in me asking if he expected me to wait at the barrier until the end of time, and him saying "if you like" and walking off Blush )

Maybe I will ask the ticket office before I set off Blush

NinjaChipmunk · 28/09/2011 16:49

probably a good idea! Grin Are you going anywhere exciting?

BabySade · 28/09/2011 16:58

I think it is included but probably a good idea to check after that Grin

Anyone doing anything good, I'm off to the cinema & out for food. I'm quite excited not to be cooking tonight!

PopcornMouse · 28/09/2011 17:01

Ooo what are you seeing baby? I've not been to the cinema in ages because I'm tight and won't pay £8.30 each :o

Naa, it's just for work, nothing exciting!

BabySade · 28/09/2011 17:07

Me too! That's why we are going today as it's orange Wednesday. I think we are going to see The Change Up cos I've got a soft spot for Ryan Renolds Wink DH wants to see that Tinker Tailor film but its my orange Wednesday app so tough Grin

PopcornMouse · 28/09/2011 17:10

Ha ha ha! We don't have orange phones but they do do half price Tuesday - DH works shifts though and always seems to be working! Plus we just bought a new flatscreen (we had an old-style mammoth before that) and he reckons it's just as good as the cinema :o

BabySade · 28/09/2011 17:23

I'm normally unlucky enough to be working on a Wednesday too, shifts suck but I do get to go shopping & stuff in the week when it's nice & quiet.

We got a new tv before Christmas as we had no sound on our old tv & where watching everything with subtitles for a few months Grin One of the justifications for spending the money was that we would save so much by not going to the cinema very often ( we still go nearly everytime I get a few days off Blush)

farfallarocks · 28/09/2011 17:25

ooooooh generic fingers crossed, I hate this bit in proceedings, the am I aren't I?

popcorn I don't think the tube bit is included, at least I have always paid for it on top!

baby I wouldn't bother with tinker tailor, its well shot and all but I fell asleep (!) I quite want to see I don't know how she does it though DH not keen, understandably.

CD8 here and we should really start with the SWI but want to wait and see what the consultant says as maybe we should not try this month.
Probably just as well as our attempts at SWO last night were hilarious, DH has done his neck and can't actually move so he was just lying there saying 'Go on, hop on', am afaid we were laughing so hard we gave up!

GenericDietCola · 28/09/2011 20:09

Ooh Baby enjoy the film. I go to the cinema every month with one of my best friends, but we have had to miss this month as she's ill. I fancied seeing One Day as I've read the book, which I enjoyed, but film adaptations are sometimes a bit of a disappointment. The Change Up looks very funny too!

Farfalla yes I hate this bit too - so easy to convince yourself there's still a chance. Mind you, I've managed to get on with work quite well and not think about it. I am not going to pee on anything until Friday at the earliest as I'm willing to bet AF will be here properly tomorrow. Your story made me laugh! I hope your appointment goes really well tomorrow and you feel like you're getting somewhere. It always feels better when you are taking action.

Popcorn hope your trip to London goes OK. I have always got tickets that include underground travel - if you're going somewhere where you have to change in London you just need to get an all routes permitted ticket like Ninja said.

DizzyKipper · 28/09/2011 21:17

Great news scarlet, glad all is well for you and the little on. This had me thinking of what I'll be doing at my 12 week scan - lands on FIL's bday so we've decided to send his card late so we can send him a scan pic at the same time.

Hope you enjoy the film Baby, I've not heard of The Change Up what's it about?

Farfalla at CD8 I don't suppose it will hurt to wait a day so you can hear from the consultant. Did have to smile at your SWO description Wink

scarletfingernail · 28/09/2011 21:29

Thanks Dizzy Solars Scrambled and Popcorn

Generic I went to see One Day a few weeks ago having read the book earlier on this year. To be fair, I thought it was a lot better than the critics reviews. Jim Sturgess plays an excellent Dex, he was exactly like I imagined him to be. Anne Hathaway was not right as Emma but she wasn't the complete dud the reviews made out. She did at least sound English even though she hadn't mastered the Yorkshire accent, but she didn't look right for the part at all IMO. The story itself was more or less the same as the book, but I felt it missed some of character traits so it didn't stir the same emotions. I'd recommend it though if you get the opportunity.

BartletForAmerica · 28/09/2011 21:33

Just a quick hello - I've been away so hope you are all well. Will catch up on things tomorrow. A bit shattered so off to bed now.

Looking forward to next lot of BFPs (have I missed any in the last week?)

Imps7 · 29/09/2011 06:49

Good morning!

Great news about the scan Scarlet - must be a weight off your shoulders to see those arms and legs waving about! Maybe he or she is already learning cheerleader dances for No Brooking purposes - could you see any pom poms in there?

Generic - what news re: AF? Has she buggered off completely, or arrived in full force? Fingers very very very crossed it's the former.

I saw Tinker Tailor etc and liked it...although I didn't completely understand it. I always end up feeling like a right thicko when I go and see films like that - surely they don't make incomprehensible films so really it must just be me whose too stupid to understand them! Quantum of Solace was the worst - I've watched it about 6 times to ogle Daniel Craig phwoar try to understand and I still don't EVEN having read the wiki digest of it.

Have you been somewhere nice Bartlet? Remind me how many weeks you are...

Good luck for today Farfalla! REFUSE any attempts to fob you off!

Another busy day today but happily get to do baking tonight for the Macmillan cake sale taking place at work tomorrow.

Imps7 · 29/09/2011 07:48

I just PIAR - BFN on a preggo test but BFP on an OPK! I know that this means eff all, it's just nice to see a second line on something!

(Guess who's going to be Googling "positive OPK symptom of pregnancy?" and similar all day....)

Biscuitsandtea · 29/09/2011 08:03

Ooooooooh Imps Grin - you know it is a sign! Remind me though - where are you cycle wise / dpo?

Crossing everything xx

Imps7 · 29/09/2011 08:07

Aaaah, okay having already Googled OPK-based queries, I do not have a BFP on an OPK, it's just a line. Still, it's a nice little line and I'm pleased it's there.

Imps7 · 29/09/2011 08:08

Morning Biscuits! Hope you're well! I'm 9 DPO - AF due anywhere between Sunday and Wednesday.
