New thread ladies, pull up a pew.

OP posts:
DizzyKipper · 28/09/2011 11:05

Hi all

I figured enough was enough of feeling sorry for myself and moping about, time to get myself back into the positive I-am-definitely-going-to-get-upduffed-this-cycle mind set, particularly as it is my birthday 5 days before AF is due and getting pregnant (and staying pregnant!) was definitely one of the things I was supposed to be doing before the next birthday.

So I'm CD11 at the moment of a 28 day cycle, OH is aware that he has a lot of work to do for the next week lol

Will catch up with everything soon, tis been quite a while since I was last on any conception thread!

CakePigeon · 28/09/2011 11:08

Oh no genericSad I was so convinced this was your month (can we rule out implantation? Hmm )

I am loving the honey because it's a great excuse it eat something sweet but I accept it may not be the magic baby making substance of my dreams

As an aside, decaf tea tastes like pond water I shall have to step up my efforts to like herbal teas

NinjaChipmunk · 28/09/2011 11:15

oh generic thats a bit pants isn't it? But I echo what you've said about writing all your questions down for the gynae and requesting any tests etc. Good luck with it and let us know how it goes. Do you know if it affects your ability to ovulate? Have they done blodds on your before (sorry if you've been asked before).

Well I went to bed and woke up in a terrible mood which still hasn't subsided. We are organising a joint b'day party for ds and 3 other friends and numbers are limited to 5 guests each. We have 6 people and not sure how flexible my friends will be about this. Originally I asked if 7 could come and one friend said no (we have booked a guy to do party games and obviously if there are too many kids it will be chaos so I'm not miffed about her point there) but now I feel a bit weird about asking for 6 as otherwise ds has to choose which one not to invite. Plus I feel bad as we've been away when its all been organised so have been no help whatsoever. Humph. Hopefully once I eat something my mood will instantly subside. I hate waking up grumpy!

NinjaChipmunk · 28/09/2011 11:46

Hi dizzy good to see you again.

GenericDietCola · 28/09/2011 11:46

Thanks everyone. Being here really helps.

Ninja not had any blood tests done or anything so I think that would be a good idea. I am not sure exactly where it is ie is it in a position that could block implantation or even block one of my fallopian tubes, so these are the sorts of questions I will be asking.

Hi Dizzy nice to see you (although I would have preferred to be seeing you on an antenatal thread) - hope things work out for you this cycle!

Cake I like lemon and ginger tea with a bit of honey in it - maybe try that? Healthy and maybe it will help with fertility.

Oh Ninja that sounds a bit of a trial. Hope you manage to sort it out.

dreamfeeder · 28/09/2011 12:29

cake, most decaf tea is shit. What you need is Clipper Organic Decaf tea, and it needs stewing a lot longer than normal tea. But then I find it's pretty bearable. I have beed caffeine free for over 2 years now.... Bar the odd cup, but my majority is definitely on the decaf side. Partly because of my hopeless bladder, plus pregnancy, plus bf, now pg again (yay!)....

ninja, I hope you work it out and he can have 6 but I have a sneaky feeling they'll put their foot down and say their dc should have 6 too etc etc.... But I could be totally wrong! Still worth an ask.

NinjaChipmunk · 28/09/2011 12:30

I know, its just working out who not to invite. This bloody party has already caused one argument between me and dp, I don't want another one!

ScrambledSmegs · 28/09/2011 12:41

Oh Generic that sucks! Damn AF and her gate-crashing ways. I'm glad you're positive and making good use of that appointment though.

Good luck Ninja, that sounds tricky! V glad DD is too little to understand parties at the moment, it makes life so easy Smile

at Dizzy. Positive people get positive pee-sticks, so of course this will be your month!

Re: decaf tea. Over time I've found that sainsbo's decaf red label tea is actually not bad. You do have to mash the bags a bit with decaf though. Herbal tea - avoid peppermint if you want to conceive! I've been told by my GP and some other medical bods that it's been linked to early miscarriages and premature births so avoid if you want that bean to get cosy!

CakePigeon · 28/09/2011 13:14

Thanks for all the tea recommendations Smile I'll go tea shopping tomorrow!

Sounds really tricky ninja who knew children's parties were so fraught?

NinjaChipmunk · 28/09/2011 13:34

Humph. I'm still grumpy. I wish the grump would go away!

DizzyKipper · 28/09/2011 13:44

Oh dear that does sound tricky Ninja, can understand why you'd be feeling awkward. Which ever of his friends doesn't get invited maybe you could explain it to the mum and take that child and your DS out on an additional, smaller thing so the child won't feel as left out?

Hi Cola, nice to see you too Smile though also sorry you've not been having luck either.

Thanks for the confirmation Scrambledsmegs, I know I will be getting pregnant but it's also good when other people can see that too Wink

farfallarocks · 28/09/2011 13:52

OMG peppermint tea!!! adds that to the list of things to avoid so at this rate I shall be living in hermetically sealed box

BabySade · 28/09/2011 14:31

Oh Generic so sorry about AF, that bloody cow. Am glad your still feeling positive, definitely try preseed. I tried it last month & DH loves it. Good thinking about writing everything down, I know how easy it it is to come out of doctors appointments feeling that you haven't achieved anything. I find it hard to be assertive sometimes in situations like that but please remember that if you don't agree with what they say you must say so & you are entitled to a second opinion if you want one. I find that in my work nice agreeable patients don't get what they want/need as quick as some other patients. I'm not saying go in there shouting etc Grin just saying I think your right to have a plan about what to say.

I've also got AF cramps & the other usual symptoms. However I'm still brooking as a quick google search has assured me that this still means im pregnant Wink

OMG I had a peppermint yea this morning, better stop drinking that! Cake a few years I got stressed about how much caffiene I was drinking. I switched to decaf tea & herbal. I must admit I really struggled at first but after about a month I started to actually like them. The sainsburys is good like Dream says, also if you are gonna try herbal teas I would recommend starting off on ones like twinnings blackcurrant, ginseng & vanilla. I found fruity ones easier to bear but even they took a few goes before the feeling of drinking perfume went away!

BTW I'm a children's nurse Cake hence the crappy shifts. Can't wait to start mat leave in 8 months..........

Ninja hope your grump lifts soon & good luck with the party for DS. Sounds like a bit of a nightmare, I had no idea what a political nightmare children's parties could be until I wandered into AIBU one night when I couldnt sleep Smile

Right sorry if I missed anything but I'm still a bit blurry eyed. I'm off work for two nights so I've got up early so I can hopefully sleep tonight. 4 hours sleep is not enough!!!!!!

BabySade · 28/09/2011 14:37

Oops sorry I meant Scrambled not Dream. The mn app is so annoying as you can't see any post while your adding yours, that's why I make so many mistakes!

scarletfingernail · 28/09/2011 14:38

Hi to all

Generic Sad for you today. How dare AF turn up after all the brooking we did. I think you are right to write down your list of questions, it is so easy to forget when you're in there trying to take everything in.

Ninja I feel your pain. I would be getting wound up about the party in your situation too. Can you suggest that your DS invites 6 and pay a tiny bit more than everyone else? Surely if you explain the position you're in your friends will understand? It's got to be worth asking.

Had my 10 week scan today. All is well. My baby now has arms and legs and was having a right good wriggle about. Very relieved.

BabySade · 28/09/2011 14:43

Yay for the good scan Scarlet, that's fab news Smile

scarletfingernail · 28/09/2011 14:47

Thanks Baby I'm brooking no argument for you. AF is not showing her face at yours. Not for a long time.

CakePigeon · 28/09/2011 14:50

Oh yay great news about the scan scarlet Smile

I'm brooking as well baby it is clearly just your bean gripping on tightly. Thanks for the tea advice, I'm drinking the blackcurrant etc one now actually - it doesn't seem to taste of anything... Maybe I have ruined my tastebuds with too much curry or something Blush

NinjaChipmunk · 28/09/2011 14:53

aw scarlet thats lovely news!

GenericDietCola · 28/09/2011 14:59

Oh Scarlet that's wonderful news - really cheered me up!

Baby you are most definitely still in there and I am brooking no argument for you!

Af gone again. Was just a bit of blood on wiping this morning, but she did this last month the cow so I am definitely not thinking about implantation bleeding, oh no.

scarletfingernail · 28/09/2011 15:05

Thanks Cake, Ninja and Generic

Generic Shock Now I'm getting excited for you all over again! You do like to keep us in suspense. Will you test again tomorrow if she doesn't show up properly?

PopcornMouse · 28/09/2011 15:25

Yay for the scan, scarlet! That must be amazing

Generic could be implantation!! Are you going to poas?

GenericDietCola · 28/09/2011 15:39

Oh dear, but I did this last month too and I just felt ridiculous - surely I should know when I'm having a period?! Anyway, if she doesn't appear properly then I will poas on Friday, but I know that it isn't implantation although it's always nice to have a bit of hope

Popcorn it won't be long until your very own scan. Trust me.

ScrambledSmegs · 28/09/2011 15:40

Fantastic news, scarlet! That must have been so great to see.

Generic, ooh definite implantation bleed! So excited! When do you think you'll POAS then?
