Hi All

scrummy glad to hear all went well on Tuesday and hoping that the cold improves soon xx.

rowing hope all well with you too.

Very quick update from me. We managed 3 eggs - we had a 4th follicle that looked pretty good and a smaller 5th one so we were a little disappointed - and then two fertilised which is identical to our last (failed Sad) cycle.

Anyway, the lovely good news I've just had is that both these embies have reached four cells and are good quality on day two. Whoop whoop! Last time, one embie got to 3 cells and one just to 2 cells on day 2 and then neither grew anymore by day 3.

ET is booked for tomorrow.

Still feel very nervous but feeling pretty positive today.

Love and ((hugs)) to all x

P.S. To those interested DH's first wank was of a decent enough standard... Wink

sunnyg · 10/11/2011 21:31

Oh no scrummy that cold! I know that cold. Definitely fight it, don't let it win.

Well my scan today went okay, ~I think. They were a little surprised cause I've currently got 5 follies, which means I have responded well to the clomid, apparently quite rare for such an ancient bird like me! On the downside they can't go ahead with 5, so now back again on Monday for Scan number 3 hoping some have dropped off and the remaining ones have grown a bit.
Was told by the doc to abstain from tomorrow over the weekend, but then the nurse said to continue SWI Friday & Sat. So a little confused over that......

Scrummy - how long before the IUI did your fella have to produce the goods? Hope you feel better soon.

Scrummybumb · 11/11/2011 08:08

Oh that is confusing sunnyg. There's two things to think about, in order for your DH swimmers to be at optimum, he should abstain for 2-3 days before the IUI. And, would you be happy to risk having 5 babies at once? It is a VERY low risk, but nonetheless.

My day went as follows; I went for bloods and scan at 7.30am. DH got the call from the clinic around 11:30 telling him to come in. As soon as he left, I got the call to make my way in. They said it would take about an hour for them to prepare the sample. I think I ended up waiting 1,5hrs in the end as they had someone else ahead of me.

I hope you manage to stay calm over the weekend. my cold got worse yesterday, so I left work and am having a half sicky today.

teds that's brilliant news. And glad to hear DH produced the goods Grin good luck with the ET today. I'm sure it will go well.

Scrummybumb · 11/11/2011 08:10

PS. Both DH and I work within 30mins from the clinic.

lucylookout · 11/11/2011 15:05

Hi sunnyg, well done on the follies (how old are you, just out of interest?) The advice from my clinic was the same as scrummy's (2 - 3 days abstinence), although I only had one follie, so no danger of multiple births.

Scrummy hope your sicky has done you good and that your cold is on the wane.

I was back in at ARGC for my immunes retest yesterday. No sign of AF, but I reckon she'll show up in the next few days for sure.

Rowing how did it go? Hi to everyone else

OP posts:
sunnyg · 11/11/2011 18:44

Hi all

Happy Friday! TGIF! What a week, 2 scans and no sign if/when the actual IUI will be, lots of the normal work crappy stuff - big boss is a complete nut and still fighting off this cold. Scrummy how are you feeling? A half-sicky was a great idea - hope you have a restful weekend planned. Are you taking just vitamins and avoiding cold and flu medication seeing you are in the 2WW???

Thanks for the run-down on the actual day Scrummy. DH teaches, so he's of course anxious to know when 'it' is going to be. Also as am in a new job finding it a bit stressful taking time off to get to the scans. BUT, this is the MOST IMPORTANT thing, so when i think of that, everything else just pales in comparison.

Think we are going to go for somewhere in between in making sure no 'beddin' after tomorrow, which will give us at least 2 if not 3 days abstinence. I definitely don't want 5 babies, one will do just fine!

Lucy - I'm almost 35. TTC nearly 3 years. I don't feel that ancient but the nurse at the clinic was like (in a quite nice way!) that I had responded strangely well to the clomid considering my age!!!!

To everyone else, I'm sorry I haven't posted many personal messages to you all yet. Have been trying to read over old posts to see where you are all at! I'm getting there.....

Italiangreyhound · 12/11/2011 11:21

Scrummy whole post for you!

PLEASE try not to worry, I am sure lots of people get peggers while having a cold. Enjoy your half sicky day and your weekend. Get well soon. Try not to let DH bother you, if he said anything about treatment and it not being likely to work, join the club. My hubby pointed out we have more chance of getting DD's birthday card on CBEEBIES than of getting pregnant with our treatment! In our case we did not get either, so it is your turn to get the good luck, HUGS. Wink

AND Scrummy OOOEER tell us about your Masterchef girlie night out, how can I get a girlie night out!

Do you mean Zara Brownless?

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b016kgy4/candidates

I don't think she will win, she's made two bad decisions so far (choosing white baby with black mum for the advert - although they did still win that one, and upping the quote - they lost that one - agree with Lord Sugar that Hannah was right to go on that one).

What is Frozen planet?

Italiangreyhound · 12/11/2011 18:32

teds well done, your follicles sound fab, Grin Grin. All the very best.

sunnyg all the best with your follicles.

Hugs to Lucy, Rowing, Lissy, Keziah, Weller, Woowa, Pumpkin and all.

rowingboat · 12/11/2011 19:32

Hi all,
sorry I've been in shock for the past few days and hiding a bit.
The transfer was OK I think, and I had 2 hatching blasts transferred, no idea what the lining thickness was, the doctor didn't tell me, even thought I asked twice. I must have a mouse voice, or it was a language problem.
He had no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned the ectopic 'oh you had a miscarriage?' 'Er no, an ectopic pregancy' [blank face] 'In the tubes?' 'Oh the tubes, I see'!
That's kind of how it went.
Had an absolute nightmare over the money, but I'm trying to forget at the moment.
Scrummy glad to hear it all went well for the IUI, I hope your cold is getting better.
Teds how did you get on on Friday?
So TWW for us all it is.
I'm in denial so am not on the 2WW [blank face]. Smile
Huge hugs to all!

Pocket1 · 12/11/2011 20:25

Hi everyone i've been lurking but not posting.

Rowing i have everything crossed for you and i hope so much that you get your BFP. How do you feel about the possibility of twins?

SunnyG and Scrummy hope you're managing to fend of the colds... take lots of vit C and zinc Brew. ive put myself and DP in Vit C and zinc as i'm determined not to get a cold this year Hmm

Teds great news. jope the transfer went well yesterday. We have another on the 2WW Smile

Italian hope you're doing okay. how you doing?

AFM, i had a scan this week, and am now synching with my donor and expecting my transfer in two weeks - YIKES! i'm on a tonne of pills (2 x HRT, steroids and aspirin) and have another scan next week to check on my lining.

Big hello to everyone else

Keziahhopes · 12/11/2011 20:42

rowing 2 hatching blasts is amazing Smile - thinking of you whilst you wait.

rowingboat · 12/11/2011 21:25

Hi all,

Keziah thank you! Smile

Pocket I don't know about twins, it would be a worry in terms of the chances of losing them and possible time off work if problems develop. On the other hand it was be a hoot! Completely nuts! If it even works, theoretically, because I'm not 'actually' on the 2WW at all because nothing has happened [blank face].
Holding your hand as you go through all this. Will you be going for a lining scan in the next week or so?

rowingboat · 12/11/2011 21:26

Pocket sorry I'm just learning to read and I see that you have your next lining scan next week. [DOH!] Do you have a day yet?

Italiangreyhound · 12/11/2011 23:56

Rowing All the BEST to you. Grin Grin

Pocket all the best for your transfer, surround yourself with nice peaceful people and things, yummy, nutricious food and the colour orange (according to Zita West!). Thanks

Teds Whoop, whoop, all the very bets to you.

scrummy I've got everything crossed for you while you're on your 2ww Grin

rowing my scan is Friday. I'm not too worried as the pills I had during my mock seemed I do the trick, so I'm expecting them to do the same this time (hope that's not naiive). Ahem, hope the next two weeks (while you're not on your 2ww, ahem) fly by Wink

Italian thank you so much for your lovely post. You had me in tears. How harsh of your DH to say that about your treatment. I hope he didn't say that whilst you were undergoing it all. They really should know better than that. Mine just complained about his own health, which he does a lot these days (including the next morning and didnt firstly ask how I felt, having been in agony in the evening for very painful ovulation pain) and how the day had been harder for him than for me, seen as all I had to do was to lie there, whilst he, you know...oh well, he is most of the time really lovely and I do love him to bits and I think we'll be great parents together as we can be quite the opposites and at the same time have the same values. And there is no spreading the luck here. We all deserve this, so I'm sending lady luck back your way, whilst squeezing my own lady luck Smile

I spent the day at www.mastercheflive.com. it's a great day out if you're into cooking or just sampling food. I use it to buy a lot of Xmas presents too

Yes, it was Sara I was thinking of. I'd forgotten about the baby disaster. I shall need to keep a closer eye on them next week. As for Frozen Planet, get yourself on iPlayer and have a peak www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00mfl7n

Thank you for thinking of me Thanks

Scrummybumb · 13/11/2011 11:08

rowing that all sounds FABULOUS! Was getting a bit worried about you. What a nightmare about the language difference. Mind you, you get that a lot here too. Glad that nothing happened so you can now relax after your holiday Wink

pocket No reason why you should respond differently. Have my FX for you. How exciting.

Lucy I really have a strong feeling they will be fine this time. So does that mean you could start as soon as AF is here or would it be next cycle?

My cold has magically disappeared and I had a great day out yesterday, with no time to think about TTC Smile thanks for all your well wishes.

Italian I did name my follies, just for a laugh. On the right I had the twins Monty and Molly. On the left I had the triplets Fredrik, Anton and Flo.

Is it time for a roll call?
scrummy 39, TTC #1, first IUI on 8 Nov, trying to relax on 2WW.

My thoughts are with those that lost their lives for freedom.

Italiangreyhound · 13/11/2011 13:16

Pocket all the very best.

Hi Scrummy Thanks for your kind words. My hubby was not being mean, he was just being honest, he is a scientist! Statistically we had a low chance of getting on Ceebies and an even lower chance of our treatment working! He was just trying to be realistic but I know us girls on this thread would be more encouraging to each other, I think statistics only work so far, if you have a 40% chance then if you are n the 40% you are actually 100% likely for it to happen, and vice versa! So in some ways, not knowing which bit of the percentage you will be in is the reality! Thanks for sending the luck back to me. I too am very different from my hubby but we have shared values and yes that does work quite well when bringing up a child if you can agree how to do it! We are still working in that one after nearly 7 years!

Good luck for Monty, Molly, Fredrik, Anton and Flo. Am I right in thinking you do kind of want fewer than 5and so maybe you will need than number to go down a bit? Please keep us posted.

Lucy any news?

Londonlottie how is it going? When are you moving?

Babybarrister do you ever look in on us?

Me, I'm OK, feeling much better and well again. The plaster marks from the ECG are almost gone. Feeling excited, keep thinking about Serentis, Jenever and May. Just want to give them all a chance. Have asked my boss for time off in February for when the treatment is; have told him I am going on holiday.

My DD is behaving badly and I know she would so love a sibling. Not sure how she would cope if she was not the only child in the family.

I can?t believe I?m a celebrity is so popular, it seems so odd! About 2 decades ago there was a Japanese programme (in Japan) that showed people being starved (not quite) put into hot places, cold places, etc etc and when they cracked they were voted off! Or whatever. It was called something like ?Endurance?. Chris Tarrant showed it on his programme and we all laughed at how ludicrous a programme like that was! Well watching trailers for IACGMOOH I thought ?how ludicrous!? Apologies to any fans!
Just started a new thread, just curious

Hi all,

Rowing how are you? Got much planned over the next couple of weeks? [Blank Face]

Pocket good luck with the scan. It all sounds very promising, and I'm sure they do the mock cycle so that they get a very clear idea of how things will go during the actual cycle. Not long to go now!

Scrummy glad the cold has gone (must have been all that yummy food). And great names!

Hi Italian, hate to admit it but I will be tuning into IACGMEOH! Am also an X Factor addict Blush. Haven't got into junior apprentice this time.

AFM, waiting for AF to arrive. I really thought it'd be this weekend (based on the last of the ewcm, which is normally a very reliable predictor for me). Trying to stay positive but actually feeling rather annoyed by how much Humira has screwed up my clockwork like cycles. I really hope you're right Scrummy and that it all turns out OK this time (and yes, I would start on short protocol straight away if my levels are alright).

Hi to everyone else too!

Hi ladies, I hope everyone is doing well. I need to apologise in advance for what will be a 'me' post, but I wanted to tell you about my amazing day.
With AF still not having arrived today, I POAS and got a bleedin' BFP. In fact, because I was so disbelieving I actually got 3 BFPs in quick succession. I called ARGC and because of my highish immunes, I need to have lots of those blood tests done again tomorrow, as well as HCG and progesterone, so as you all know just getting pregnant is the first of many hurdles, at least I'm going to be closely monitored by ARGC, and if the worst can be prevented, they'll be able to do it.
Oh, and I take every bad thing back that I said about Humira. It obviously kicked in and did the job.
So, one day at a time, fingers crossed HCG and progesterone are ok tomorrow.
